Reviews for Koza Cave Hotel

Review 1:There was nothing I didn't like

Review 2:Sunset call to prayer from the king suite's private balcony is nothing short of magnificent. The room is perfectly apportioned and the staff is kind and helpful. Such an amazing experience.

Review 3:- magical decor, unique and overflowing with character - eco-friendly design sets this particular cave hotel apart from its competitors - very friendly and knowledgable owners - great location - cosy breakfast

Review 4:I did not like the fact we could not stay more!

Review 5:Everything I reserved in advance with the hotel was perfectly on time! And there were no misunderstandings at all, all the info found in their website was so useful and everything so descriptive.

Review 6:After finding out our flight was going to be late, we called and let them know so the shuttle would still be able to get us. Not a problem! After our arrival at the hotel, the nephew asked if we were hungry and went to the restaurant next door before they closed at 11pm and got us a tray of appetizers, which were amazing! This hotel is family run and everything is so friendly and welcoming. We were even able to schedule Turkish baths and hot air balloons rides through them. The room was the best on our entire trip to Greece and Turkey. Also, the breakfast that was included each morning was so delicious!! So fun to stay in a cave!

Review 7:Family run hotel. Extremely accommodating. They helped with all of our tours & balloon rides prior and during our stay. We woke up one morning to watch the balloons from the terrace. It was magical.

Review 8:The family that runs Koza was really nice and very helpful with organizing balloon trips, airport transfers, and tips for the town. Beautiful terrace on top with really nice views and the hotel is next door to a great restaurant - Seten.

Review 9:Just a small note, the rooms maintain their heat very well. Maybe I should have asked for a fan. I'm sure they would have made it happen

Review 10:The owners of the koza cave are wonderful. No question to silly or difficult. You we be welcomed as a fellow traveler

Review 11:Koza is a family run hotel and all members of the family and other staff were helpful. We had booked the hot air balloon ride and another sight seeing tour of Goreme through them and they arranged all with minimal fuss. Koza is located quite close to the town centre and restaurants but at the same time is far enough not to be disturbed by the town centre activities

Review 12:This is our favourite in Turkey. Actually I booked our entire travel schedule with the help of Metis Travel, which is recommended by Koza. As travel agency, they are more than professional and considerate. For us,they are like protective shields during our entire journey, providing fair and considerate arrangements include punctual pickup, detailed tourism information and warmly reminder of upcoming activities just in case of any confusion. In case of Koza, I have to say we really love the families running Koza (Uncle is my husband's favourite:)). Besides that, Koza provides the best and unique service, they wrote guests' upcoming activities on white board just at the reception, which is very clear and helpful. Also, they provides all kinds of reservations of tourism activities in Cappadocia, even includes the very best pottery beef in the area. Thanks to Koza, thanks to Uncle, thanks to Ms Seda, without you guys, we couldn't encounter a fantastic Cappadocia, a place like home:)

Review 13:Nothing bad, but a curtain for the bathroom area would be good for a little more privacy and we did have trouble with the window curtain rails when we wanted the window open, they easily fell off.

Review 14:We loved everything. It was beautiful, Exceeded expectations.

Review 15:Everything was spectacular! Charming, family-run cave hotel with great location and views, excellent service, delicious breakfast, beautiful suites and lovely terraces and sitting areas filled with cozy furniture and potted plants. The Dural family was so gracious and hospitable--they made us feel right at home. We didn't want to leave!

Review 16:It could be better if they put a door in the bathroom, although it was not a problem for us.

Review 17:Everything was perfect. Rooms are big and well organized.

Review 18:We had a fabulous stay at Koza caves. The owner & his family were kind & helpful. The whole place had a relaxed feel about it & everyone was more than happy to help with information, questions etc. definitely recommend!

Review 19:We were not impressed with the staff's hospitality. The staff did not go out of their way to make us feel comfortable or welcomed. A mini bar, television, safe and bathroom door would have been a nice addition.

Review 20:Breakfast was good. Room was cleaned everyday. The view was impressive. The location was very good because it was close to most places.

Review 21:The hotel was very unique and quite the experience. It was located next to a fantastic restaurant and the place is owned and operated by a very kind and helpful family.

Review 22:The family who runs the hotel is accommodating and inclusive. You always feel welcome! The breakfast was by far my favorite while in Turkey. Wifi worked everywhere

Review 23:It is just caused some unconvinience, far away from dislike, that it would be good if a plastic curtain can be hung between the shower area and the toilet area, so that the foot rug won't get wet.

Review 24:the staffs are nice and responsive to any questions. the breakfast is excellent with colorful and delicious foods! and window panel is full of lovely small things of turkish! the plants and flowers in the garden are so nice!

Review 25:Amazing location, gorgeous suite, quiet, beautifully constructed cave, great staff, great breakfast, great terraces for relaxing on. Great customer service, made us feel at home.

Review 26:It's a family owned business that really tries to make you feel welcome. The rooms are simple but traditionally decorated and the breakfast is really good.

Review 27:Small touches like free tea coffee and bottled water make the stay very comfortable indeed. Chilled out team who are always there for local above and help as well as tips for our onward travel

Review 28:They cleaned my car for me...for FREE! it's outrageous.

Review 29:The perfect manifestation of the Cave Hotel fantasy...beautifully conceived and executed.Fantastic attention to detail and view lines. Couldn't fault it!

Review 30:There was no door in the bathroom, only a curtain :O In some "situations" it was a bit uncomfortable.

Review 31:A really beautiful place. Very nice personal, a pleasure to talk with the family :) Complete breakfast with free buffet service. Great room (a bit dark, though) Nice terrace.

Review 32:this is not a minus but rather a remark to future guest: our ( extra beautiful!) suite had no bathroom door but a curtain separating the hamam style bathroom from the rest, this might be something to consider. check out other room types if this bothers you.

Review 33:beautiful location up the hill with a great view from the terraces, deserves the name " cave hotel" ( unlike many of the followers that have been established inthe last years), owners/ hosts make you feel welcome and do everything to make your stay comfortable ( including transfer) We hadn't booked our balloon flight but went with their recomendation - great choice! if you look for a cheap treat there are plenty of other places, Koza Hotel has managed to maintain their high standards and personal touch for many years even though Göreme has become rather touristy.

Review 34:The classic family run hotel, with attention to detail everywhere. We were made welcome from the moment Mustafa carried the bags from the car. Rooms are unique, and a novelty in finding them within the small suntrap of a courtyard. Terraces offer fine views across the Pigeon valley, and views across Goreme can be seen from on top of the property.

Review 35:Tea making facilities in the room would have been good. Breakfast was underwhelming. A quick orientation of the hotel would have made a big difference in making us feel welcome and connecting us to the staff/owners. We were shown our room and that was all. We had no idea that the views over the back of the hotel were so stunning until we were about to leave.

Review 36:Rooms and hotel were stunning in an understated, chic way. It was a very cool place. Excellent hot shower. Wifi in each room was fabulous.

Review 37:Hotel is number 89. To get to hotel, follow the blue street signs of hotel numbers. Also a great pick-up place for early morning hot air balloon ride.

Review 38:I wish the bathroom had a door. The curtain is rather awkward because it gives you zero privacy. Ours was also too short and too narrow so it didn't even block off the view. The lack of shower curtain meant that the whole bathroom got wet after showering. I hope they improve these things in the future.

Review 39:The family members that run the hotel are all extremely nice and helpful. The hotel is very cute full of lovely little details. The breakfast is the usual Turkish fair. Overall I had a great time in Gomere and really liked my stay at Koza.

Review 40:we had a great time visiting goreme and the cappadocia region. The staff were very friendly and helped to organize airport transfers and an absolutely amazing balloon trip with Turkiye Balloons!

Review 41:the location is on the top of the city with great view. Staff are friendly not try to selling the tour program to you. the deco of the house is lovely. not big hotel but with family feeling. very cheap laundry service. always people on the reception. perfect place to relaxing after the tiring walking

Review 42:The wifi was spotty, but that's because it's in a cave with stone walls.

Review 43:The staff were super friendly and helped us set up a car rental, a hot air balloon ride, and gave us general advice on great things to see in Cappadocia.

Review 44:Me and my girlfriend enjoyed our short stay in Koza a lot. The family run hotel is located very central and its terrace has a fantastic view. We wish we had spent more time chilling on that terrace. The friendly staff will help you with anything you need. They also run a travel agency providing daily tours / excursions, but they don't push you to book any services from them. They have been very polite and helpful all the time. The breakfast was also very delicious.

Review 45:Staff were wonderfully helpful and hospitable, and made arrangements like airport transfers, self-guided walking trips and activity bookings effortless. The rooms themselves are beautiful and cozy, set into the caves of the surreal Cappadocian landscape.

Review 46:They should put a courtain in the shower so you don't flood the bathroom every time you take a shower.

Review 47:Its a little cave just for you, the staff is super friendly and they can arrange tours and airport shuttle and all. I just loved it was a perfect experience !!

Review 48:I appreciated Samet taking time to give us some detail of the place. We loved the room it's style and friendliness of staff. The consideration for the environment was appreciated

Review 49:You can park your car near to the hotel. Just let it there and you can be in markplatz when u want in 5 min. The rooms are in regional dessign, comfortable with amazing environment, also such a quiet room with free int.connection. The breakfast is cool with everything. There is some terraces for drink your tea or caffee with a view to the special landscape of Cappadocia. The Stuff is very helpfull for information about the area and they are also sympathetic nice people.

Review 50:I wouldn't recommend for the faint of heart as it's a bit of an uphill walk from the town center.

Review 51:Location, room size for money, fireplace in room, accommodating staff.

Review 52:Great boutique hotel - exactly what it looks like in the photos. Hotel helped us book balloon ride which was very helpful! Would highly recommend this hotel

Review 53:The only complaint we had was the bed which we found too soft and not supportive enough for our aging backs.

Review 54:This is a family run place and they are all warm and friendly. Breakfast is good and there is complentary tea and coffee all day. They will book restaraunts and other stuff for you and even drive you there and pick you up!

Review 55:Booked a hotel pickup service from airport and called the hotel again to confirm my pickup is booked before flight boarding, still no one showed up with my name printing correctly (not even close) on the paper, I had to call the hotel several times outside the airport arrivals (about 20 mins waiting) to get some guy to show up with the correct name (which is added on later on that paper by handwriting).

Review 56:The king suite is the one to go, more than a real cave room, it's in the fairy chimney! Very unique and wonderful experience. Suite is big and clean, spa tub is awesome. Staff is friendly. Breakfast is good.

Review 57:This family-run establishment is beautiful with thoughtful touches. The staff were super attentive via email before the trip and very helpful in person during the trip. I will recommend this place to friends!

Review 58:- being a cave hotel there was not much light in the room - wifi disconnected a few times but was back online after a few hours

Review 59:- very friendly and nice staff - clean apartment - got upgraded to a nice room - cave hotel is very unique

Review 60:The staff were really helpful and arranged for everything we asked about. They were quick and prompt in answering emails and it was a lovely, relaxed place to stay. I would highly recommend to friends.

Review 61:dark rooms a lot of stairs to get to some rooms breakfast simple but ok

Review 62:charming nice and help some staff real cave living with good comfort good cost benefit

Review 63:The hotel is located up a hill from town. But the walk is manageable.

Review 64:We had a wonderful experience. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and eager to help. The room was beautiful, clean and the temperature was comfortable despite the cold weather. It is located close to a hamam and a nice restaurant, Seten.

Review 65:We loved absolutely everything about this hotel.

Review 66:We love this place! The family (owners) is AMAZING!!! Nothing seems to be a problem for them. They certainly make sure that their guests feel like they are at home. The rooms are spectacular!!! We would highly recommend this hotel!

Review 67:The family that runs this hotel is incredibly friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was a nice spread and the rooms were clean and comfortable. There was free wi-fi in the lounge/breakfast area, and in each room, with a great signal (better than the hotel we would later stay at in Istanbul, actually!)

Review 68:The hotel itself is very traditional in keeping with the cave-style, but the rooms are still really beautiful and comfortable to stay in. The family who own the place are so accommodating. The son Sam, even drove us personally free of charge to the underground city when we said we hadn't seen it yet because we were leaving early the next morning and didn't have time for a tour. 100% recommend anyone to stay here.

Review 69:The door from our room didn't seal the room as it should. But the heating worked well and the room was warm enought even outside was pretty cold (-1 Celsius in the morning)

Review 70:Original in cave rooms, with great taste of decorations, helpful staff, cleanliness, good breakfast.

Review 71:Would have been nice to have somewhere to sit/communal area for this time of year when it rains a lot or activities are cancelled. TV in room (sure, nobody is there to watch TV but...) and perhaps Tea/Coffee making facilities in room.

Review 72:Our room was nice and comfortable with lots of character. Breakfast was nice with lots of choice and the staff (family) made us feel extremely welcome.

Review 73:Nice, professional staff. Good breakfast. Very comfortable room and bed, lovingly arranged with an eye for details. If we had chosen this place right at the start of the holidays, we'd stayed here all the time.

Review 74:Perfect location on the hill, near to the entrance to the Pidgeon Valley, perfect vistas from the outside terrace. Nice, clean room, but we haven´t stayed in one of the "cave" rooms

Review 75:All was perfect

Review 76:That was a great stay into the great place. Location very convenient for hikers and travelers with car. Just a few steps from hotel located the best restraint in Goreme. Hotel itself is very cozy, all furniture hand made. Very helpful staff. Good quality of breakfast.

Review 77:Everyone at Koza was so welcoming and generous with their time. They went out of their way to help and offer advice. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the atmosphere and staff really make it great. Highly recommend!

Review 78:While I liked the view from my room, the hotel is high up on a hill and a bit distant from the town center where the restaurants and shops are. No TV, clock or phone in the room. The entire family is not as friendly as previous reviewers have said.

Review 79:Room was great - had a lovely view of the fairy chimneys, very clean and comfortable bed. It's a family run hotel, and the mother and one of the sons were helpful.

Review 80:The room is too beautiful, very Turkish specialties, and very clean. Located high ground, watching the sunset should be beautiful, but I was too hasty this day, no time to enjoy views in the yard. 房间太漂亮了,很有土耳其特色,而且非常干净。位于制高点,看夕阳应该很美,只是我的这一天太匆忙,没时间好好享受它的院子。

Review 81:Location above Goreme, Outdoor spaces to sip tea and view overhead balloons, village and unique surrounding landscape, Room arrangements and decoration details, Attentive, friendly staff

Review 82:Everything was awesome! great accomodations, great location, Sahmet and his family were very welcoming and extremely efficient. Breakfast was excellent! Totally recommend it. Don't miss the restaurant Seten! right next to it. Superb!

Review 83:the room is really small, and we booked a cave room, but actually it is a basement room. no view ,no window, the main door facing the small courtyard sofa, so no privacy if want to open the door for ventilation. very uncomfortable room. so disapointed. and the fee is higher than my friend's room in the hotel next door. and room size is smaller. so sad.

Review 84:the hotel location is ok, breakfast is ok.

Review 85:This is a wonderful place to stay in Cappadoccia. We visited for three days. The hotel is small and charming and like most accomodation in Goteme it is cut into the tufa rock. Wonderful views over the national park and town are to be had when sitting on the sun decks. The staff were friendly and very helpful, pointing out the best attractions to see in the short space of time we had.

Review 86:This boutique hotel is a jewel. The family who runs it (day and night) is incredibly helpful and interesting. The rooms are well appointed and our bathroom was huge with a nice bathtub. We had great conversations with the owner and his sons and extended family. Breakfast was lovely.

Review 87:Nothing we didn't like

Review 88:The ambience of the suite. The fact that we were made to feel part of the family. The easy lifestyle. The wonderful view from all parts of the hotel, including our bedroom.

Review 89:Having to leave, ...even then they called us on the way to the airport to check if we had left a bag behind!!

Review 90:A family friendly business where they did everything to make your stay memorable.

Review 91:The pillows were too hard.

Review 92:The owners and staff were extremely helpful. Very unique place - nowhere else in the world could compete. Breakfast was very good.

Review 93:friendly hosts who became our friends; beautiful cave room; perfectly clean facilities; whole hotel is rendered and cared for with love; wonderful breakfast overlooking cappadocia caves; easy walk from main strip of bars, restaurants, and shops in goreme

Review 94:Breakfasts not good--dull/boring. Room very nice but stuffy for sleeping/had to borrow a fan.

Review 95:Beauty. Care with which it was furnished. Friendly staff.

Review 96:The people at Koza were always willing to help. We asked a lot of questions and they always sat down with you and nothing was a bother. Lovely little place up in the cave area. Not far to walk down the hill to the main 'Goreme' area.

Review 97:It was a bit hot when we were there from Sept 1-4. Next time I would pick dates later in September.

Review 98:Amazing family-run business. The whole family is very helpful, courteous, speak English fluently, I felt like being at home, away from home. Our breakfast was included and it was really good food!!!! Location was great, 5 minute downhill walk to town where is very lively. Thank-you for your hospitality!

Review 99:There isn't air conditioning, so the room was a bit warm sometimes. But we didn't go anywhere in Cappadoccia that had AC...

Review 100:The staff at this family-run place are super helpful with booking transportation to/from the airport and excursions. Koza Cave has a lot of terraces and we spent lots of time sitting there enjoying the sunset.

Review 101:Only a curtain and half wall between bedroom and bath. A bit strange!

Review 102:Hotel is run by Mustapha, his sister and 2 nephews and reminded me of B&B with character. Our room was clean, interestingly furnished and cool (despite no A/C). The breakfast was good and the view from the terrace is brilliant (fairy chimneys).

Review 103:Loved this place. Staff we extra helpful and booked us in for hot-air ballooning and our airport transfers, even offered to take us to the open air museum since we arrived before check in time. They supplied a good breakfast and bottles of water for your stay - very nice in such heat! Room itself was large and comfy with a good shower - was sad to leave!

Review 104:Great hosts. Very helpful in every way (car rental, tour organization, car transfert). The room was spacious, clean and quiet. Excellent experience

Review 105:Nothing!

Review 106:Very good staff help in every way. Nothing was too much for them to do including lifts to a travel agent, help during a medical emergency and early breakfasts when needed. Loved the whole atmosphere including the peaceful terrace and cave room.

Review 107:The room was a bit stuffy- but its a cave hotel so! We requested for a fan and that solved my problem.

Review 108:Location is very close tot he bus stop, car rentals, restaurants and shops Great view of Goreme Hospitality was amazing Helpfulness of owners Great aesthetics- beautiful flowers and tastefully decorated rooms Very clean

Review 109:I didn't find anything wrong

Review 110:I liked it all from the first hello to me finding out that Bookings overbooked the hotel.. Not to worry Koza put me in a suite for 2 days and charged me my normal rate...a family run hotel they all take pride in their hotel and they are all so attentive and knowledgable about Cappadoccia ... Each room is uniquely decorated and they are there 24/7 to help... Breakfast is very good and it always comes with a lot of smiles.. Plus you are sleeping in a cave .. This is one of the finest hotels I have stayed in while inTurkey..

Review 111:Maybe breakfast could be improved, but regardng the room itself, it's one of the top three boutique hotels we've stayed in!

Review 112:The taste and decoration of the room were simply splendid. In addition to that, the room and bathroom (large with a bath tub and very good quality bath products) were very comfortable. We strongly recommend the restaurant next door called Sateen. The owners (the hotel is ran by a family) are very kind and helpful and speak very good English.
