Quinta das Mercês is a peaceful country house offering luxury accommodations next to the sea. It is situated on Mount Brasil, 20 minutes' from the center of Angra do Heroísmo.
This small pension has just 13 beautifully presented and classically furnished guest rooms. Some of the rooms have their own private garden, some of the rooms feature a sea view.
Quinta das Mercês is surrounded by 376737 ft² of grounds and woodlands and offers some great walking circuits. Other recreational facilities include a seawater pool, tennis, fishing and Turkish bath.
Breakfast is included in the room rate and is served buffet style each morning. Lunch and dinner is also available on a request basis.

Review 1：Stately elegance of house and surroundings, excellent friendly staff, excellent custom cooked breakfast, magnificent views. Best value for money ever experienced in Europe.

Review 2：It is very difficult to find - from the photos did not realise there is a road between the property and the sea. There is no indication on the outside that it is a hotel. Only saw one man on the reception the whole time who was not at all friendly although could speak english. The gym was never open - opening hours were supposed to be 10am to 6pm when most guests are out in any case.

Review 3：The building and grounds are beautiful - an old 17th century manor house complete with chapel. There are lots of facilities and breakfast was good, but nothing special.

Review 4：Poor ceiling fan that did not cool the room. Smell of moisture in room. Unpleasant male staff member on phone and in person. WiFi did not work in room (that is very bad) only in common areas where it was strong.
