Reviews for Sultan Cave Suites
Review 1:wifi was poor in my room
Review 2:Very friendly english speaking staff. great location with perfect view (suite 303/Musafir Odda). Delicious breakfast with local products. Very capable staff to organize our excursions. The restaurant was excellent and the wine list with local wines was very good.Thank you Gul and Hasan, looking forward to see you soon. I will miss Izmir
Review 3:- Literally no wi-fi in the rooms (nor 3G/phone signal due to the cave walls). - I arrived at 10 PM and the guy who was in charge didn't speak english at all, couldn't explain anything to me, just said "Ballon Flight Cancelled" - the mere reason why I had gone to Cappadocia was this -. There are a number of these young guys working on the hotel, but they seriously know nothing about hotel service and how to treat customers. Some of them were even burping in from of me and other guests. Were kinda rude and were just on their phones all day. You could tell who the actual trained staff/managers were, since they treated you and serviced you miles better and with more respect. - Heating in the rooms wasn't great either, which the non-english-staff in charge of the hotel at night was, of course, unable to help with.
Review 4:- The restaurant was amazing. Service and food-quality wise. The best part of the entire facility and the trip. - The breakfast was nice. - The wifi in the Reception/Lobby was fairly good. - The LOVELY dog in the reception I fell in love with.
Review 5:The staff here were so helpful and friendly, if you need to book anything they will organise it for you, they even gave us a lift to the museum in their own car one morning. The location is great, up the top of a hill with great views, but a small walk into goreme centre. Our favourite place we have stayed on our Europe holiday. ... stkilda power!!!!!
Review 6:very friendly staff and great location. complementary turkish tea round the clock was an added advantage in extreme cold weather ( we went in december when the temrature was -6 celcius.)
Review 7:Very welcoming place, lovely location in a very nice little town. Very helpful staff giving lots of useful information. The hotel itself is very nicely done out with fantastic rooms, great views and close to the centre and local sites.
Review 8:It was the finest reception we have received at any hotel. Hassan sat with us and explained what sites we can visit and what tours we can do. He made all the arrangements for us. We saw other staff doing the same for the other guests. When our flight was cancelled the staff called the Airlines ,arranged alternative flights and provided transport to the alternative airport. They even took the time to teach me Backgammon. Excellent Location .
Review 9:Nothing particular.
Review 10:We stayed during winter for two nights. Rooms have heater, air conditioner and fireplace as well. They have restorant too, i recommed it instead of looking for a place at winter, ambiance ia very good, foods and prices are ok too. Breakfast was perfect. Staff is very helpful and hospitable. They have shuttle from hotel to bus station or they can give u a ride to gorene open museum as well.
Review 11:The staff was amazing! The service starts from when you make your booking. Staff was so helpful and friendly. The breakfast spread was very good en the room was cosy and clean. This place gets a 20 out of 10! Thank you to Mrs Gul, Hasan and the rest of the Sultan Gave Suits team. Don't miss the the sunrise view from the rooftop of the Hotels restaurant covered in Turkish carpets and cushions.
Review 12:Hasan and his "brothers" were very nice and helpful. The arrangement for pick up and recommendation for tours were good. They even offered free rides for us to several tourist spots. The breakfast was the best throughout our trip in Turkey. We miss the dried fruits and the hazelnut spread... The location of the hotel is easy to find and close to town. Room 325 has a great view and terrace. And it is well equipped. We enjoyed our stay here :) and hopefully to come back again in summer for the hot air balloon flight!
Review 13:Everything was just perfect, Nothing
Review 14:Better than 5 stars services from excellent, kind and very helpful staff. Hotel is in a magic location and hotel reflects the magic perfectly. Hotel staff deserves the best of all. Really looking frw going there asap!
Review 15:The rooms was very dirty, the carpets in the room were like a century old never cleaned. The toilets had foul smell and no exhaust and tiny, the wood floor was making so much squeaking noise that every step you take the kids would wake up. The family suite we took was on first floor so was inconvenient to access for kids. The heating in the room was insufficient so we asked for extra heater which was provided very quickly but it was halogen heater and was very bright so had to switch off to have dark. The curtains were so thin and not enough to block the street lights. The bed again was very uncomfortable as it made so much noise every time we turn side the other person would wake up. The breakfast is okay nothing extraordinary. The view was okay from the rooms as could see the valley as the room was on the back of the property. I hoped for a room with terrace but this is only family room they had.
Review 16:The staff was helpful and efficient to arrange for daily trips and airport puck drop at short notice.
Review 17:Somehow the options offered from the staff for various tours were restrictive; could have been given better options
Review 18:the location and the scenery from the room was just amazing; The breakfast had a very good spread
Review 19:Fantastic location with a fantastic view over the valleys. I was amazed by the comfy cave rooms, delicious food from its restaurant (one of the best in town that offers authentic capadoccia cuisine) and fantastic hotel staff. They are extremely friendly and helpful. I TRUELY enjoyed my stay there with my friends. They offered generous help when one of my friends twisted her ankle while hiking during the day. I think I will come back again in summer time.
Review 20:The staff and the manager are excellent. They signed me up for tours etc so I didn't have to lift a finger. They take time to chat to the guests and make every effort with them. The whole stay ran very smoothly. I had a great time and I'll definitely go back.
Review 21:This little hotel was a find! Everything from their reception when we reached at midnight to the quality of rooms and the most of all Kalvalti (The lavish Turkish breakfast)! I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning to stay in the beautiful town of Cappadocia on their trip to Turkey! They also arranged our tours and balloon ride so we did not have to look elsewhere. The staff is amazing and always available to help. What I miss the most is the best Turkish tea I had during my stay here and in Istanbul. To sum it up, we would definitely stay here if we visit again.
Review 22:Its a walk away to town but no issue after the food we ate, its a good exercise to burn those fats.
Review 23:If you're keen for a view every single morning, this is one of the highest places to overlook goreme. Well known for its rooftop view during sunrise so be sure to catch it because it will take your breath away. The room make you feel like you're in a cave. Staff also is fantastic .
Review 24:The bed was ok, the "duvet" was a thin rough blanket and no other layer of blanket in between- didn't find it very clean.
Review 25:We were picked up with the hotel shuttle everything was very clear- this isn't specific to hotel-there were people picked up staying at different ones in the same area. The staff was always available- it's effortless how they coordinate all your needs & It was very easy to plan out all we wanted to do for the few days we were there. The views from the hotel were nice. The rooms were true to the pictures and found them to be warm. The staff had nice advice on what to do and recommended a good hot air balloon company - Butterfly. We stayed in December so the weather is very cold- however walking down from the hotel to the main shopping/restaurants was <10minutes. Very near to everything & still have seclusion at the hotel.
Review 26:There was not much to dislike. One small issue with our room was that the shower was missing some details (like a place to put soap).
Review 27:Excellent, prompt, and warm service. For example, we were traveling with a 15 month old baby ... the hotel staff was always very quick to bring warm milk to our room for the baby. The views from our King Suite room were amazing (especially the balloons early in the morning). Excellent restaurant on premises, not far from other excellent restaurants (like Top Deck). Morning breakfast buffet was very adequate, we skipped lunch almost daily.
Review 28:This is quite possibly the most beautiful, magical and romantic hotel that I have every stayed in. The views from the terraces were breathtaking. The breakfast was amazing and delicious. The hotel service was also perfect. Our hotel room was beautifully furnished and decorated, romantic and comfortable. I would definitely return, as well as recommend this hotel to my friends.
Review 29:Location of hotel & views from the terrace and common areas were fantastic. Best breakfast we had in turkey (included in the room rate) with a huge spread. The hotel staff was very friendly and helped with suggestions of places to visit. Also, arranged a balloon tour for us which was an incredible experience!!!
Review 30:The Sultan staff made us extremely welcome, helped us book tours, and were flexible when we needed to extend our stay. The hotel is well located and has lots of character plus serves a great breakfast and dinner in the restuarant.
Review 31:N/A
Review 32:One of the best cave, very helpful staff even I was in the high street hotel staff find me there and ask me if u r going to hotel he can drop me.i m not use to live in cave as find it a bit scary so I have to change from cave to hotel and hotel staff drop me to my next hotel free of cost.i really love the service.Superb
Review 33:A little disappointed that we did not get a cave room as we had specially mailed the hotel well in advance and requested for the same. Plus there was no view from the room.
Review 34:The hotel, staff, breakfast, well heated rooms and the resident cocker spaniel Izmir!!!
Review 35:Can't think of anything.....
Review 36:The Sultan Cave suites is an extremely comfortable small hotel with attentive staff and great views of the Goreme valley and the ballooning each morning. The breakfast provided is a extensive buffet and omelets can be special ordered with quick response. The room had teas and a water boiler for beverages before 8AM. The onsite restaurant is also worthy of 5 stars!
Review 37:The staff were all very friendly and helpful especially mustafa who went out of his way to give us great advice about where to go and what to see. Izmer the hotel dog was aladorable :) The rooftop at sunrise was incredible!!!
Review 38:The outlook from the Hotel was amazing over the valleys and Fairy Chimneys. The staff organized the balloon ride for us which was worth every euro. The brothers of this hotel were very friendly and helped us enjoy our stay. They were keen to help us see the best of Goreme. There is also a great coffee shop in the centre called oze coffee! There is great car parking outside the hotel.
Review 39:The wifi in the cave suite is weak so we often have to go to the reception to connect to the world.
Review 40:The hotel staff are really friendly! They helped us book the tours, offered us recommendations and gave us free ride to the Rose Valley to trek! The rooftop of the hotel offers really great scenery for photo-taking! They even have mats and pillows for people to lie on them to relax, and a photographer to capture beautiful shots of you during sunrise with hot-air balloons in the background.
Review 41:The bathroom was slightly clogged on the last day of our stay.
Review 42:The staff were really helpful, we arrived around 11pm and a staff waited for us at the entrance and helped us with our luggage to the reception and all the way to our room. We stayed for 3 nights in a Junior Suite. The room was as described/ shown in the photos. It was clean, the balcony was huge and the view was great. Only the remote wasn't functioning well but that didn't really bother us much. The breakfast was okay, you can ask the cook to prepare omelette or fried egg for you. I personally loved the pistachio helva and the cereal with dried strawberry. We left at 7.30 am and the staff took the liberty to prepare packed breakfast for us which were a sandwich with juice and an apple. We loved that the staff speaks fair English and are always informed and alert with our traveling arrangements. We do not need to remind them. All in all, it is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in Cappadocia.
Review 43:I love the hotel view of the city, the room was very comfortable, I arrived late night and I didn't quite like the room I was given, but the owner kindly adjusted my room into a better view one and I felt quite appreciated. When I tried to get onto the roof top to get the city picture, the owner generously helped me out since it was quite tough to get onto the top lol. The day we left in the morning, I thought we couldn't make to breakfast cuz it was too late, but the owner's employee packed breakfast for us which did not usually happen in other hotels. I really liked the hotel and I would recommend to anyone who would go to Cappadocia. Plus I reserved the royal balloon tour with the hotel and it was one of the best experiences ever.
Review 44:Very helpful staff. Mustafa and team were very helpful with tours, bookings etc. thanks for the upgrade to the suite. Very good views of the valley and the balloons too
Review 45:Our room was in the second building 150 metres from the hotel. The room overlooked a building with satellite dishes that blocked the view although we had wanted a cave room which is how it was described but it was not. A friend who stayed at Divan Cave suites around the corner had a much better room for almost half the price ( he booked last minute while we had booked weeks in advance).
Review 46:The breakfast
Review 47:Such helpfully and friendly staff members, unique and clean rooms, incredible breakfast, great advice on areas to travel through nearby, and helped us book a great balloon ride.
Review 48:There is a general wifi problem around the hotel.
Review 49:We loved the breakfast. The stuff are helpful and they speak very good english. The restaurant inside the hotel was also not to miss.
Review 50:Nothing really except we found the pillows a bit lumpy
Review 51:Staff were very helpful and even came out with a packed breakfast on our last morning as we had to leave early. The view from the terrace was amazing and the room was very spacious and very tastefully decorated. We would highly recommend
Review 52:not at all
Review 53:All the staff were very friendly and helpful. They made a us very good suggestion what to do in cappadocia to better utilize our time! Breakfast was good. I feel like home when being in Sultan cave suites.
Review 54:I booked the green tour at hotel, the tour guide was not so professional, that's not the problem about hotel. For suggestion, you should choose a trustworthy travel agent.
Review 55:Sultan cave suites is located on the top of Goreme village, the view is great. Staff is very helpful, they gave good advices for travelling the Capadocia. What' more, the breakfast is so delicious , especially the crossaint, you can't miss it. The inner decoration is so special, it made me feel like staying in a real cave. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.
Review 56:Nothing
Review 57:Wonderful staff, beautiful hotel, located on hill (excellent views) but only short walk to town centre. Nice breakfast. Room was lovely, very nice bathroom, comfortable bed. I was given excellent advice, both before and during my stay, of what to do, see etc. and just felt very well looked after from the moment I booked.
Review 58:I cannot think of a single thing.
Review 59:This is a wonderful setting. There are cozy sitting areas throughout the place - every few rooms or so. The rooms are varied - we saw ours and our friends' and both were great. Staff was welcoming, breakfast terrific, transport to the bus station at no charge and reasonable from the airport. We also ate in the restaurant - and loved the food!
Review 60:our room was not what we expected as a cave but was spacious and comfortable. Poor room lighting
Review 61:The staff could not do enough to help We had some health problems and they were most helpful even running us to the chemist. Mustafa speaks excellent English and gives practical help.
Review 62:The staff and management made us felt very welcomed and always there to help us and answer any questions we may have in a timely, friendly and professional manner.
Review 63:Lovely nice cave hotel room, best view, good location. Especially hotel staffs. Super nice and helpfully. I would like to recommend anyone to stay at this hotel if if travel to Cappadocia.
Review 64:1. The hotel boss is really nice person. He taken us to try to find some balloon flight company to get another fly chance. 2. The hotel has a nice restaurant. especially the lamb shank is really delicious.
Review 65:Great hotel with helpful staff. The town itself is so small that everything is walkable although the hotel is on the outer edge. Great spacious room, we stayed in a cave suite.
Review 66:Thankyou so much for a wonderful stay, the hotel was beautiful and the staff went out of their way to help us. My daughter lost her mobile phone in Istanvul and they phoned the police several times to arrange us to pick it up and also changed our flights for us. Nothing was too much trouble. We really appreciated the help they gave us !
Review 67:Of course it's a cave hotel, which means some rooms have no natural light whatsoever. Zero soundproofing meaning you hear everything from outside and rooms next door, if you care about privacy. Some noise from the pipes behind walls throughout the night.
Review 68:Friendly and helpful staff. Nice location.
Review 69:The seating inside the room was very hard..you could not relax and sit for any length of timeWe had to move to either the outside couch or bed to feel comfortable.
Review 70:Our room was a king size with a lovely terrace . The view was amazing. The facility of the hotel pool next door was a surprise. Breakfasts were nice, even tho there was no variety each day. A real feel for Turkey.
Review 71:Booked cave hotel but it was not available so we got upgraded but would have preferred a cave room as I paid room to just get that experience
Review 72:Breakfasts
Review 73:Can hear neighbor noise
Review 74:Amazing service and super flexible with me and some last minute changes I had. Staff were excellent and helpful. Views were great and breakfast good.
Review 75:The breakfast I quite poor in options.
Review 76:The location of the hotel is excellent.few minutes walking from sultaahmet mosque and grand bazar.the staff is really polite and helpful.very genuine and carrying people.i think everybody as I did is wondering about the transfer.the hotel can arrange a return transfer for 60 euros as I recall .but no stress for the traffic gem and paying so much cause of this.fix price is the best.
Review 77:The place and the surroundings are fantastic. We stayed at the Sultan Suite, one of the most unique places. We are world travelers & this is by far one of our very favorite places/ hotels we have ever stayed at. Service is also very warm, friendly, helpful & welcoming. Restaurant & food is magnificent! Our favorite was the older Chef preparing traditional Turkish dishes outdoors in a traditional fireplace.
Review 78:Staff were fantastic - both managers in the morning and the evening were very kind. The hotel is beautiful and has a great view overlooking Goreme. Highly recommended!
Review 79:No flaws or disappointments encountered
Review 80:Exceeded all expectations ! Value exceeded price , attention to details & a client focused staff. They set the standards .
Review 81:Staff was amazing, absolutely amazing. The rooms are awesome. Spacious and well decorated. The hotel also has amazing views since it is higher up. Breakfast was great. I really cannot speak highly enough of this hotel.
Review 82:Bed was uncomfortable. Cleanliness. Cups in room abd bathroomwere dirty and room was dusty
Review 83:Position and use of swimming pool. The terraces and view were amazing. Hot air ballooning
Review 84:We loved sultan caves suites!!!! They were very helpful and great hosts, it's 5 minutes walk to town and beautiful views!!!! They help you arrange tours and balloon flight and they have a Delicious breakfast!!! Will come back for sure
Review 85:I loved everything. No complaints or concerns.
Review 86:I've traveled the world's and stayed at many properties. Sultan Cave Suites was amazing. The staff was very accommodating. I'll definitely stay there again!
Review 87:Love this place! The staff was very helpful and attentive, the tour companies they use are amazing. We had the best experience on the balloon ride! Hotel has a great view overlooking the town and is a short walk down to the town. The staff also offers free rides to the Open Air Museum. The room feels just like a cave, it was very spacious and clean. The room we stayed in didn't have a window so it was darker than we would have liked but made the cave experience more authentic. Also- there are 2 dogs on site and they are the sweetest things! I will definitely stay there again on my next trip.
Review 88:Amenities like bedding and mattresses could be upgraded without loosing the ambience of the Rock suites
Review 89:Very relaxing with super friendly staff that where always accommodating
Review 90:The staff was so helpful. There was a bit of miscommunication with the timing of our return flight and there were issues with getting us an airport transfer but we managed to work it out. Because we arrived late and only had a day and half, they were worked out the best schedule for us, even without being able to go with a tour company. We got to go horseback riding and visit all the must-see sights. They're incredibly knowledgable and helpful, plus excellent english, and there's a puppy!
Review 91:No air conditioning, not even a fan, no tissues. Bed way too firm. They offered take away breakfast boxes for us. Wife vegan, so she got 1 tomato and 1 inedible nectarine. Multi storey with partial wooden floors meant rooms were noisy.
Review 92:Staff were very helpful, very good. Room was large and spectacular in appearance.
Review 93:Amazing Place Valuble For Every US Dollar I Pay People Are So Helpfull And Kind, amazing Breakfast All is Perfect . was Amazing 3 Days in the hotel .
Review 94:There was no air-con in the room, however a fan was provided. The room was very stuffy if the fan wasn't on.
Review 95:Staff & location was excellent. Watching the hot air balloons from the balcony was spectacular. Short walk to town & very safe!
Review 96:Internet was really slow. We stayed in room 332 and the door of the bathroom was really inconvenient as it could not be opened fully and the iron latch protruding caused even more inconvenience when using the wash basin.
Review 97:Some of the staff were very helpful, especially Hasan. Breakfast was excellent. The ambience of the hotel is very good. It is excellent to watch all the balloons take off early morning from the open terrace at the reception of the hotel. We celebrated our anniversary here and got a nice surprise at the dinner on our anniversary night.
Review 98:A/C in our room was not working very well, and was in a strange position. The room never felt cool. I'm sure staff would have assisted if they were notified, but as we stayed only for a couple of days and were barely in the room, we never got time to let them know.
Review 99:Staff were very friendly and always helpful. I liked how they would personally drop you to the bus station, or wherever you wanted to go in Cappadocia on request. Breakfast was a good spread, and a good start to the day. Top notch customer service throughout our stay - lovely people.
Review 100:So impressed with this awesome Sultan family owned and run hotel. This hotel sponsored the Turkey music festival which we and all local hotel guests were invited to attend a free concert in their historic courtyard setting with Turkish hospitality of free local wines. Both suites we loved were authentic cave suites with exquisite local Turkish handmade décor & antiques. Our complimentary breakfasts and dinners were decadent. The owner provided excellent arrangements for our bucket list hot-air balloon ride and underground cities tour - all awesome!
Review 101:Not really a dislike but be aware that it is slightly damp in a cave hotel so your hand washed laundry will not dry in the room. We hung it outside in the sun.
Review 102:Attentive staff. Mustafa (one of the owners, who spent 6 years in Canada) gave us excellent advice on the essential sites to visit. Cave hotel was a unique experience ! Great location, short walk into town. Breakfast was excellent with lots of local products! They even served real honeycomb ! Wifi excellent, free parking.
Review 103:the hotel has upgraded our room due to some vacancy reasons and it was one of their best! awesome experience in this nice cave hotel, the view of the morning ballons at the balcony is unforgettable
Review 104:Nothing not to like about this place. Definitely recommend going through them for booking balloon rides, transfers and day trips. Terrific staff. Restaurant was a huge plus. Good prices, tasty food, nice local wine and stunning setting.
Review 105:the bed is uncomfortable, so I had back ache. and the extra bed is worse because the mattress kept falling. Shower does not have curtain.
Review 106:staff are really helpful and friendly. good location. a lot of activities.
Review 107:Our room was lovely however the few actual cave rooms were booked out unfortunately for us.
Review 108:Staff are the foremost important thing here, willing to help organise everything. They will look after every detail of your trip and give every information you could need, all without being too pushy. Breakfast was top notch, view from reception area is A-grade.
Review 109:The room for a junior suite is a bit small, but I might be expecting too much since It is essentially a cave. The breakfast was good but it is the same breakfast every day.
Review 110:Hotel is high above a valley of 'fairy chimneys'. The view is fantastic. Looking over the city during prayer time made me feel like I'm in the middle ages.
Review 111:The only not so gd thing is that u will need to walk upslope to get back hotel after u r tired from all the hiking at the valleys.
Review 112:Hotel staff are friendly. Strong wifi signal. Bfast selection was gd. From hotel can have a nice view of goreme.
Review 113:The amazing breakfast, a lot of options to eat. The cave like room with its landscape view. The staff provided us with lots of information related to Capadocia and helped us to book the tours, hot air ballons (best experience ever, you must try it with Butterfly ballons), airport transfer. The room service was excellent, they cleaned it up every day and changed our towels. No words to explain. For sure we will book this hotel again if we go back some day.
Review 114:The room is not in the main building. 20 meters away.
Review 115:Good location in Goreme. View from hotel is beautiful. They picked us up from the Nevsehir airport which made us feel safe and warm. They helped us to book butterfly hot balloon and green tour. Staff Mandy who is Chinese can speak Chinese, helpful for Chinese tourists. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant 'Seten'. Nice food and service. We highly recommend it. They also helped to free ride to the bus station (Otogar).
Review 116:Nothing.
Review 117:The room, the location, and the hosts (Mustafa and Khan) were all phenomenal. Could not have imagined a better experience. The restaurant at the hotel is also one of the best in Goreme. First class all the way.
