Reviews for The Sarann

Review 1:Poor breakfast, rooms should be refurbished.

Review 2:The relation price-quality for the rooms with the private pool is excellent. Good Wi-Fi connection. Good location if you want to be close to the main beach and is still central enough in the island.

Review 3:The private pool only gets sun until 12 midday. The gym was small as was the resort - no evening entertainment / area to chill and meet people. The hotel was very remote with a beach amd a handful of hotels and restaurants being a short walk away, everything else you would need a taxi.

Review 4:We stayed in the pool villa room over Christmas so knew we would be paying a bit more than usual .. The luxury was great ! As were the staff. Food was also great - the buffet breakfast and the room service and cocktails.

Review 5:The swimming pool was being renovated so we couldn't use it. We had been forewarned the week before and had access to a pool at a neighbouring hotel during our stay.

Review 6:The staff were very friendly, rooms very very nice and the food was good.

Review 7:Expensive SPA services, drain smell in the room (maybe some aroma sticks would help), no full sized mirror.

Review 8:Spacious room, decoration, jacuzzi, amazing pool view, excellent restaurant with great view, perfect and very helpful staff (no one begging for money), gym.

Review 9:Wifi intermittent Location far from main area No beach Very noisy rooms as next to main road Breakfast ok No room service after 10pm

Review 10:Staff friendly.

Review 11:Location bad and rooms are very noisy on account of the main road. Hotel does not have direct beach access. 15 min away from main Chaweng Beach

Review 12:Staff is friendly and helpful

Review 13:Baths ran cold water in both rooms we stayed in. Wifi was intermittent. Location was quite far to get into Chaweng's main area. Breakfast was OK.

Review 14:Relaxing and quiet.

Review 15:Staff were very friendly and helpful. The entire place was beautiful, kept very clean and well maintained. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wish we stayed longer! Would highly recommend to anyone!

Review 16:The suits with the jacuzzi gave you the impression to be in prison. There is a big wall all around the patio, which is closing the whole view, so you don't see anything.

Review 17:Dirty!!! I found used shower cap in the drawer. The pillow was so dirty. Everything not clean at all. It showed partial seaview when i booked. But in fact, could you define "partial"? Feeling dissapointed

Review 18:Nothing

Review 19:Breakfast was terrible!!! It was definitely the worst food we had all holiday... The bathroom looked nothing like the photos. No pebbles or stepping stones. Was boring.

Review 20:Infinity edge pool was amazing. Pool service for drinks was good also!!

Review 21:The hotel beach is very rocky and impossible to swim in. Hence the hotel does not have its own beach chairs. However, 50 meters down the beach is a swimable beach and quite nice. We used beach chairs belonging to a bistro there. Didn't have to pay but we'd normally buy drinks from them.

Review 22:Staff were fantastic. We stayed on a villa with a spa. The room was huge, shower great. There are 3 rows of villas. We stayed in the middle one. It was very quiet. I'd imagine that the ones close to the road would be on the noisy side. The ones facing the beach are beautiful. We wanted to upgrade to those but price was twice as expensive as our villa and we didn't think it was worth it.

Review 23:Found some staff hard to communicate with. Our room had a bad smell one day but it was quickly dealt with

Review 24:Very nice rooms. Most of the staff were very friendly. The view from the infinity pool is good.

Review 25:Limited WIFI connectivity.

Review 26:Amazing service! very helpful staff! They have a tour desk too which provides great assistance. Not too far from Chaweng so perfect for those who don't want to stay in the main party area.

Review 27:I booked a double room with an empty side room with no furniture inside. Staff said all doubles are like that, accomodative if requested to add an extra bed. The room's layout was really weird and made me uncomfortable.

Review 28:View at the breakfast table is nice and most staff speaks communicable English

Review 29:Nothing bad to report, but you will really need a car / moped to enjoy it here the most

Review 30:Great rooms for the price, we booked a Jacuzzi room which was great. View of Chaweng beach from the infinity pool is great.

Review 31:The view from the infinity pool was amazing, the staff were excellent. The spa suite was the best I've ever stayed at Would be a perfect couples retreat

Review 32:Food price a bit expensive. And European food not so good. They should focus on Thai food only.

Review 33:The location is great. Well located to go in North and South West of the island in 30min by bike. Room are amazing between Thai traditional and Weatern Standards. And they smelt very good flower spirit. I really loved this hotel.

Review 34:The bed. The room was closed up,a bit clusterfobic. No view, unless you book w view.

Review 35:Spacious rooms. Location. Friendly staff. Gym ok. Food good. Value for money

Review 36:-Not everybody was speaking English. -The wine is expensive,....

Review 37:-The quality of this hotel is super! - Good food at the restaurant, -friendly and qualified staff

Review 38:none. Gym could be a bit more bigger if possible.

Review 39:loved everything about this hotel. The room is just fantastic. The toilet and washroom is even better. Staff are really friendly and hospitable. Pool and dining facilities are nice.

Review 40:Pool villa's are not worth their price. We stayed 9 nights at Jacuzzi and one night at Pool villa. Forget about the pool, unless you're really lazy ;) The local SPA offers good selection of wellness treatments but It's a little overpriced.

Review 41:The stuff is communicative and friendly, location is good and Wild Ginger offers great food. Stay away from the other bars located at the beach, for your own sake ;) Sarann's location is one of it's highlights. 10-15 minutes to the "city" and 15-20 minutes from airport.

Review 42:Location is a little difficult, right on the main road with area to walk safely. Need a car or use taxis to get anywhere.

Review 43:Room was great, very large with hot tub.

Review 44:Our room was in the back row, near main road so it was pretty noisy with cars/bikes going by very fast at all hours. There's nothing around the hotel so walked on the beach for about 10 minutes to get to the nearby village for convenient stores, restaurants and some bars.

Review 45:Happy with the staffs - all very nice and accommodating. We reserved a room with an outdoor jacuzzi. The room was very stylishly decorated and we felt at home immediately. Hotel offers free van service to mall/shopping area twice a day so that was quite convenient.

Review 46:The staff were quite sliow to respond to requests. Several times the room was leaking water from AC line.

Review 47:The bed and room were excellent. Late jacuzzi tub and rainfall showers made the stay a very enjoyable one

Review 48:I have just returned from a trip to Koh Samui, my first time there and decided to stay at The Sarann. And I am glad I did. The hotel was great, we had a sea view Villa with a pool, the amenities were very good and I also used the spa. If you are heading to the island and want something away from the Madness of Chaweng, but still be close enough to have a try if you like, this is the place. Fantastic.

Review 49:Its one of the most remarkable and memorable trip and place to stay. The sharran is undoubtedly superb resorts and its general manager surpassing all hospitality expectations. Clearly a must stay place.

Review 50:Accessing the beach: one has to cross a little stream which seems quite dirty. The resort is in need of a facelift (maintenance) as it's looking tired. Lack of daylight: The rooms on the ground floor are very dark.

Review 51:Rooms are spacious; staff always smiling; restaurant quite good.

Review 52:From our room you could sometimes smell the drains. It didn't appear to be full yet for some reason our room was the very last one and we had a long walk to get to it each day. One morning the cleaners cleaned our room while we were at breakfast and took our towels and didn't replace them, they said they would replace them in 5 mins and never did. My husband and I got back at different times that afternoon and I asked for towels so that when he got back he had them however they didn't come and he had to ask yet again when he arrived. We also had to ask 3 times and waited over an hour for assitance with drainage in our room. Had outfits for a wedding dry cleaned and pressed and they came back just as creased as they were originally.

Review 53:The staff were very friendly and the rooms were very large and nicely styled. Omletes were nice! The infinity pool was lovely.

Review 54:the room was a bit too small for the king size bed and desk behind it

Review 55:the sea view suite is amazing, the edgeless pool, and the food in the restaurant was great

Review 56:Got myself a free room upgrade from Deluxe to Jacuzzi. Nothing to complain.

Review 57:A little to far from town area

Review 58:Comfortability, Friendly Staff and Quiet

Review 59:The furniture became old

Review 60:Easy access to your room,, and nice sea view

Review 61:The smiles from staff

Review 62:sea view

Review 63:We travelled here for our honeymoon everyone was so nice and helpful made our stay perfect and the rooms are sooo nice

Review 64:Beautiful location, breathtaking views, unbelievable pool

Review 65:no late check out allowed

Review 66:Location

Review 67:We asked for one bed but they gave us two sepered beds, with a big gap in it

Review 68:Beautiful hotel, nice view and very friendly staff

Review 69:Not enough bikes to rent

Review 70:They didn't have an air condition in the restraunt and the reception

Review 71:The stuff was so friendly . The private villa is so amazing

Review 72:Nice jacuzzi, nice room, friendly staff, value for money

Review 73:Communication.. Staff should have better Knowledge in English

Review 74:Hotel Location

Review 75:Room was massive and great bathroom.

Review 76:The villas are beautiful with Sea almost touching the pool

Review 77:Wifi dead spots

Review 78:Staff friendliness, restaurant food, bike rentals, pool.

Review 79:Wife was a little weak at our day end room, but I didn't come 14000 miles to Facebook.

Review 80:It's hard to put into words how I felt about this place. If you want to genuinely relax, soak in a temperate pool, feel very safe, and cared for without the "in your face luxury," this is it. I would go back in a heartbeat. Book it! You won't be sorry.

Review 81:When I arrived I went to my room and the floor was dirty! It had toothpaste marks on the floor and just looked like it hadn't been cleaned. Also I was in the deluxe bungalow on the road which was noisy. I told the staff and they immediately showed me another room which was further away from the road and clean. The mopeds speedometer was broken on the one I hired from them, which they swapped the next day. So if you do hire from them just make sure everything is working first. There's no beach loungers as such just pool loungers, so if you want to go to the beach you need to use other hotel loungers. if they'll let you!

Review 82:The Staff were friendly and welcoming. They were accommodating and helpful and gave me information about the area when needed. If I had any issues they were quickly attended to by the staff...The beach is lovely and the infinity pool is fabulous. There's a great hut on the beach if you walk further down in between two hotels, that sells a huge platter of fruit for 150 tbht..and also does local food and cocktails cheaper than any of the hotels round there. I hired a moped from the hotel about 200 tbht per day to go into chaweng because it's about 10 mins away, where you'll find cheaper restaurants etc.

Review 83:Very expensive for what you get Poor in-house restaurant Concierge lost our luggage on our last day and we almost missed our flight.

Review 84:Location Staff friendliness Office responsible for local daily tours

Review 85:The restaurant fare was pretty average for this standard of hotel. The so-called shuttle into town only went twice a day. Only 3 very small dawers for clothes in an inconvenient corner of a wardrobe and no stools or chairs for laying out clothes

Review 86:Lovely peaceful pool villa with sea views. Courteous and helpful staff. Great not to be in the melee of Chaweng (thinking there was a regular hotel shuttle bus)

Review 87:When ordering room service we felt that this did take a long time. The air-conditioning in our unit didn't work and it was really hot when we were there. The hotel is not walking distance to the main Chaweng Beach road. The shuttle only runs twice a day and we felt that since the hotel is far from the busy area of Chaweng it should have a night (10:00pm) Drop off / pick up, so that you can at least go for a supper and not have to be ripped off by taxi drivers.

Review 88:We loved the friendly staff and good service. The rooms were large and comfortable. The travel assistant at the hotel was very helpful and assisted in all our tour arrangements. The hotel lives up to all expectations.

Review 89:Staff were not overly helpful but were also unobtrusive.

Review 90:The villa was beautiful and was very private including the private infinity pool. Views spectacular

Review 91:When we arrived the asked us to pay the whole stay in advance, which isnot often. We requested then to check the room first. We had booked adeluxe twin room. The room was so noisy, it was located by the main roadside and you could listen all traffic passing by. We refused to stay insuch a noisy room and asked to be relocated but all deluxe rooms were bythe road side and likewise noisy. We requested a solution. First theytried us to stay 1 night in the noisy deluxe room and then change intoanother less noisy deluxe one on the next day. When we refused, andafter 1h in the front desk and several chats with the manager (on thephone, as he did not dare to show up) they relocated us in a suite withspa bath but they requested us to pay the room-type difference (!!) whatmade us even more pissed off, especially because the hotel was not fullat all. The only thing we asked for was a quiet room to stay. In the endthey allowed us to stay in the suite with spa bath during the firstnight and then on the next day they showed us another deluxe room on thecentral line but still noisy. We insisted in getting a solution andfinally they let us stay in the suite with spa bath (which we did notuse) during our 4 nigh-stay at no extra cost. The solution wasacceptable but it came too late.NOTE: the room type price difference depends in large part on how noisy the room is, as the rooms are basically the same size and have similar quality standards. There are 3 lines of apartments: deluxe rooms are by the road side and are very noisy, central line (suits with spa bath) are less noisy (even quite if on ground floor) and front sea line which might be actually quiet. We booked this hotel mainly because it was supposed to be relaxing and peaceful (that is what their webpage sells) but also not so far from the busy and lively Cheweng Beach entertainment offer. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation out of the city busy traffic buzz, just book a sea front side villa.

Review 92:The room size was good and the infinity pool nice. Breakfast wasassorted.

Review 93:Close to main road Not directly on beach so have to use otherhotels' chairs if you want to sit on the beach No 7eleven nearby

Review 94:Lovely room Very friendly staff Great breakfast Nice spa Access to beachGreat restaurant and others close by Nice infinity pool

Review 95:The website photos were pretty misleading and the rooms were tired anddated and you could see very little of the sea. The location was on abusy main road so very noisy at night when trying to sleep. The beachwas very difficult to access and was dangerous and dirty near the actualhotel. The hotel didn't offer any loungers on the beach so we had togo further along he beach and pay to have lunch somewhere to have beachaccess. There were only 8 beds around he pool and sun was not on themfor most of the day because of pool location. Beautiful bath butcouldn't be used as water flowed so slowly, it would have takenhours to get enough water inside. Lot of birds landing on balcony soregular toilet droppings on display. Broken glass on beach near hoteland actually cut my foot on day 1 of our stay. Beach away from the hotelwas beautiful.

Review 96:Staff were pretty friendly and helpful. Small shop opposite offeredexcellent laundry and taxi service.

Review 97:Excelent view from our room, we were there on our honeymoon - they made beautiful decorations for us and give us nice gift :-)

Review 98:Firm bed. Disorganised booking process (just the luck of the draw)

Review 99:Massive rooms and great pool. Amazing views

Review 100:the serenity the views amazing

Review 101:Room and site are the most amazing we ever stayed in.

Review 102:it looks like a bit old , but also ok~!

Review 103:spa is verygood, just look like a bit old~!

Review 104:Some of the room is on the main road. Its very noise

Review 105:We loved the size of our accommodation, the friendliness of the staff and the location.

Review 106:Transportation fee from hotel a bit expensive.

Review 107:Relaxing environment n spacious room with a large bathroom. Public infinity pool.

Review 108:Price of place as was too expensive for 5 star - lovely reception people but bad waiter staff dirty pool

Review 109:Closeness to challenge beach

Review 110:water preasure in the room - inconsistant

Review 111:friendly staff, good service, great ambiance and great design

Review 112:The food in the restaurant was fabulous.

Review 113:Room with big space. Away from crowd yet easy access to centre of chaweng. Modern and cozy interior

Review 114:Pool is in shade, was charged for broken ash tray ehich was a bit cheeky

Review 115:Location, good vallue for money, very beautiful rooms
