Review 1：In that hotel category, a gym is almost a must, but unfortunately missing. (That is the reason we think it is not a 10) The huge duck at the beach is a completely out of place. Plse take it away!! Perhaps instead, place some rubbish bins. The umbrellas have holes (!!) and look like they are (at least) 100 years old. They pull down the positive overall impression and need to be replaced.

Review 2：Very good location. Beautiful gardens. Staff was very nice. We booked short notice and could not get a room with connecting doors as we have small children, but they moved us after one night into a very nice beach villa. Staff and management seems to be quite reactive on previous comments as we now had electrical mosquito devices in our room, as guests before us had complained about them. Breakfast was very good and never hectic. In general the atmosphere was very laid back and easy going, even when fully booked. Very good with and for children. Nice mix of different nationalities (we are Brasilian/German) from all over the world. Restaurant staff was superb. Making anything happen. Food was delicious.

Review 5：The most of the staff doesn't understand a word of English and that may cause little problems sometimes, especially because they don't make any effort to understand you. The beach is not clean and the sea for sure not special, but it probably depends on the period of the year.

Review 6：Even if a little old, the room was beautiful, clean and with a magnificent bathroom. The Infinity pool is amazin. Breakfast and lunch at the pool bar good, fresh and with a great variety.

Review 8：Incredibly nice staff. Excellent breakfast, really what you would expect from a 4 star resort. At least 3 salty foods + sushis, real juices, made to request omelets, real expresso, real cheese (trust me I'm French...), many bakery sweets, etc etc....one of the best I've tasted in my life. Ah and of of that, with pool and see view naturally :-) Super beach where you can actually swim and very quiet. Magnificent common areas with large pool and walkway in exotic gardens Our superior room was immense with bath and 2 showers including an outside one. We had the luck to have see view from our balcony (room 536).

Review 9：The resort somehow looks a bit dated, tired. Needs a freshing up. They also should dump those ugly ducks on the beach which block the beautiful view. We booked a beach front villa, and they gave us 101. After 5 minutes my wife already noticed an awful sewer smell and we had to move. Lucky 104 was available otherwise we (or well, they) were in trouble. After informing a manager, they knew there was a problem there. Weird, so why they still booked us there right? The villa was expensive. Double the price of what we paid earlier that week in Deva Samui, and that one even had a private pool. It's a big villa, but very very basic. Looks nothing like the pictures. You have to close all the curtains and blinds to have some privacy, people walking all around and looking right in. Nothing that really 'wowed' us at all. So all together, we expected MUCH more than what we got and that was disappointing. We had 4 days rain on our holiday and all 4 exactly during the time we were at New Star, so also that didn't brighten up our mood, bad luck for them and us. Not value for money, we wouldn't come back here next time. For half the price we will go back to Deva for a much nicer, newer, 'wow' villa. No beach there but hey, there are taxies. :)

Review 10：New Star has a great, big, quiet, soft sandy beach, amazing. The staff is all very friendly and helpful. Food is basic but very good!

Review 11：The only things we didn't like are the very uncomfortable bed (it felt like we were sleeping on the box spring instead of a mattress), and at times the bathroom plumbing gave off a very foul sewer odor.

Review 13：The first villa which they put us in was on the edge of the property, #101. It was only a matter of minutes before we began to detect a very bad smell. The sewer vents were right next to the villa and occasionally the odor would drift over. Luckily of us, the villa next door was unoccupied and the staff allowed us to move. They were very accommodating with this matter. Had we not been able to move our stay would have been VERY disappointing, certainly not worth the money we paid. Also, for some unknown reason, there were three inflated ducks sitting in front on the beach; two smaller ones and one giant one. They were hard to miss and honestly, they detracted from the whole ambiance of the beach resort. The ducks cheapened the experience and made the hotel feel more plastic, rather like a Disney Land. Also, there was no gym, that would surely add something

Review 14：Loved the beach villa where we stayed, the view was stunning, beach delightful, swimming outrageously beautiful. Very relaxing sitting in front of villa enjoying the views. The hotel's restaurant was excellent, there was a good selection of European and Thai food. Breakfast every morning was delicious and the offerings varied every morning.

Review 24：We did a lot of research through booking.com and other sites beforechoosing this resort (it was our honeymoon): it was hard to combine ourmany wishes for the perfect beach, the perfect room/villa, sea view,location, etc.. but New Star Beach had it all!! First of all, the beachwas amazing! So much better than Chaweng - more private (shared betweenfew hotels) not many vendors but just enough to have a little beachshopping, fantastic sand and clear water. The resort and the villa wehad booked (beachfront villa) was simply perfect! We loved the outdoorshower, the huge bedroom, the reading area, and the privacy with ourprivate sun lounges, few meters from the water. Service and food weregreat! The price of the restaurant was lower than other hotels, buthigher than the average local restaurants, but that's expected - itis after all the same everywhere in the world. Breakfast was deliciousand staff very friendly.

Review 25：Situation of hotel means some steep walking to get from the reception area to the beach/pool area. Not suitable for the elderly or those that are unfit!!!

Review 27：We went to Koh Samui a couple of times already and stayed along Chaweng Beach area a few times. This time, we opted for a different side of Chaweng beach are and chose Chaweng Noi area. We made the right choice to stay at this resort. Quiet end with not too many trash on the beach and not crowded. Just the way we like it! Close to the main Chaweng beach attractions with a tuk-tuk or taxi ride away. Friendly staff and beds are so comfortable. We love our pool villa!! Definitely will come back to stay at this resort again.

Review 28：Wifi connection is very bad in the room. Price rank is strange, in Booking Cottage is cheaper than luxury room with balcony, but in hotel price list, cottage is more expensive, it makes me confused.

A special mention should be made of the hotel manager Chanupong Manachamni (Mr Big) who went out of his way to organize our sight-seeing and made sure that all our needs were met quickly and efficiently. And what a beautiful hotel property! Wish we could have stayed longer.

One very minor annoyance was the tendency for some people to dominate the use of beach lounges, but this didn't concern us greatly as we preferred to spend our time in the water or at tables in the shade.

Review 52：The location is at one of the nicest stretches of beach on the island. The staff were brilliant and bent over backwards for us, we were so impressed. The grounds, beach and villa rooms are gorgeous and well maintained and the breakfast is excellent. I have stayed here 3 times now and each time it has been better than the last.

There is a good selection of dining and dinners on the beach which are good value for money. The accessibility to the beach and the pool from the rooms is very convenient.
