Reviews for Pier 21 Apartment Hotel Fremantle

Review 1:An extra mirror in the living area would have been good, but seriously, given this quality of room, not an issue really!

Review 2:This room was outstanding. Views to die for and amenities that measure up to all those we have experienced in Europe and Asia . Second to none in Australia. Comfort, space and quality. Breakfast was excellent and service from admin staff thorough and friendly.

Review 3:Disappointed that our balcony view consisted of a brick wall with no river views. This should have been stated in room details. I would not have booked this accommodation if I had known.

Review 4:It was quiet and central for our needs as it was close to Fremantle and Cottesloe. Lovely pool area with great river views.

Review 5:Very surprised that there was no free WiFi!! Also no Foxtel. I have stayed at many cheaper places where the above are automatically provided

Review 6:Good location in a street of interesting heritage houses. Apartment was very spacious and well stocked with drinks and the frig even contained some frozen dinners which could be very convenient if arriving late.

Review 7:Rooms very clean. Gym and pools were great and the kids loved them. Breakfast was really nice, very nice buffet and the cooking to order for hot food is a great way to do it.

Review 8:Carpets were dirty, toilet and shower had hairs over them.. Lift got stuck and 3 of our group were stuck there for 10-15 minutes. Extremely hot in there and all we received was a ' I am sorry the lift is less than 3 weeks old and you were perfectly safe'. Not one was asked if they were OK.

Review 9:Apartment a little over priced for the size Too small for 4 people. 1 small bathroom to share. Noisy guests the night we were there.

Review 10:Location and view from room fantastic. Clean. Staff nice

Review 11:Main air-conditioner unit not working Only issue when days temp above 35C

Review 12:Quietness of complex after 8.00pm Helpful & friendly staff willing to assist Cleanness of the pool and other common areas of the complex Good walking tracks around the area to venue too each morning Very good location for areas to Scarborough and Rockingham, and too airport.

Review 13:the apartment was tiny for a 2 bedroom- it was too small for 4 people. there was food under the couch. the breakfast was not good for vegetarians.

Review 14:the view was lovely but too far from the town

Review 15:Was not given river view.Room under kitchen so very noisy and humidifier in kitchen went off in middle of night . Disappointed with no view even though we booked in June. One bathroom only for that price expect two

Review 16:Good breakfasts, good television and cleaning

Review 17:Staff were excellent from front of house, breakfast waiter and cook to housekeeping. So friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and generous and delicious. This made value even better. Room was very spacious and well appointed in good location. The view from the large balcony and windows was amazing. Thoroughly recommend this place.

Review 18:No river view unlike what is shown in the pictures. Overpriced accommodation that faces the wall of the next apartment. Small-ish with living space for only 2 persons, even though I booked a 2 bedroom.

Review 19:Nothing mind blowing about the property otherwise.

Review 20:We stayed in a studio for 3 nights and a one bedroom for 1 night. The bed was small and uncomfortable,(a double) big hard pillows, extremely overpriced for the room by comparison to other places we have stayed in other capital cities. The rooms were a bit scruffy. Reception staff could do with some training on the basics of customer service and being hospitable.

Review 21:The view and accessibility to beaches. Breakfast staff were hospitable and obliging. The gym was great.

Review 22:Stayed for 18 days . Lovely apartment facing the Swan River. Great pool and barbecue area too. Staff were very attentive and helpful at all times. We will definitely return

Review 23:The two doors into the bathroom ran into each other. Couldn't watch the tele from the bed.

Review 24:The location, very nice quiet place to stay to far from the centre of Freo.

Review 25:That the lift was out of order and the sliding door was stuck, and the aircon remote didnt work. think no battery, we told the receptionist as we left.

Review 26:Room 42 was great, we were upgraded for our anniversary, what a lovely surprise, thank you

Review 27:Window frames loose, missing bolts - wind howling in. Windows hadn't been cleaned in a while - on the outside balcony side. Rooms could do with an update - i.e.: a phone charger to suit an iPhone 4 shows that the rooms are there for the money in the owners pocket and not for your comfort.

Review 28:Great staff

Review 29:The elevator was broken while I was there and I didn't get a room with an ocean view, but I was there on business and so the view didn't matter too much for me. Needed some form of transport to get to Fremantle city Center.

Review 30:Overall it was a pleasant stay and the apartment had good facilities and staff service was top notch in accomodating my needs.

Review 31:as we travelled without a car, it involved, cabs & lots of walking.

Review 32:their guest laundry was the best we've encountered and they were still upgrading

Review 33:On The day we stayed, elevator was down. We had to climbed 4 flights of stairs with luggage. Car park driveway was super narrow. Got to be careful. Staff wasn't too helpful when we tried to find out more about the bike rental. Said it was another company. Lastly rooms have no aircon. Only sitcom was at the livIng room so we blasted it at the lowest through the night.

Review 34:The harbour view was great.

Review 35:Unfortunately the lift was being re done and we were on the 3 floor as I wanted a view of the swan river but the staff were helpful with out luggage,

Review 36:Our Room had a lovely view of the swan river and It was in a quiet area which was easy to access,

Review 37:Lift not working - should have been advised in advance and not after confirming the booking Gym closed at 8:30pm with no access later than that. Location - no shops/bars/anything within walking distance. Arrived after hours, reception closes at 9 (or so) so unless you contact them for late access you will arrive at an empty / closed reception. The paperwork requirements are excessive for a hotel - had to do everything twice. Once before arrival and then again before 10am on day after arrival - is that really necessary? Ive already confirmed my booking with a credit card so why do i need to send a scanned copy of the card and my id before I arrive and show all of those again when i get there?? Price - for the location and service offered I expected more based on the price ie its not great value for money. Wifi - costs extra for very limited speed wifi. Atmosphere - has an abandoned feel about it. Not a resort or typical hotel feel. You walk through the car park to get to the rooms. Not a scenic or inviting set up.

Review 38:Like the view and the rooms, plenty of parking, after hours key pick up arrangements

Review 39:LACK OF QUALITY RESTAURANTS WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE (CLEARLY NOT THE HOTELS FAULT BUT DOE MEAN YOU NEED CAR OR TAXI)

Review 40:STAFF COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE HELPFUL. ROOMS VERY CLEAN AND SPACIOUS.

Review 41:No free WiFi. Can walk to beach but a 20 min walk through an industrial area with lots of trucks going past. Need own transport. Balcony was shaded all day. No BBQ on balcony.

Review 42:Lovely modern clean rooms. Nice view over the water. Plenty of parking on site. Clean towels daily. Friendly staff.

Review 43:The wind was much louder than expected. We live next to the ocean and it had nothing on this. Surprised rooms aren't sound proofed. It wasn't a deal breaker but noticeable.

Review 44:The location was perfect and close to a wedding venue we were attending.

Review 45:I hate to be picky but the only thing was there was only 1 mirror in the hotel room. We had 4 girls getting ready for the wedding and 1 mirror just was not enough. Lucky we had stayed there before and knew to take our own big mirror too.

Review 46:The location was perfect for the wedding we attended on the riverfront and Mosman park golf course. The view of the river is spectacular. We had 6 couples staying in 3 rooms and it was perfect for that.

Review 47:Nothing bad to say about this hotel at all.

Review 48:The view from our room was awesome and it was in a great location. The size of our balcony was great. Will definitely stay there again and wished we had stayed a bit longer.

Review 49:Didn't like paying a $300 bond which wasn't returned into ouraccount until a week later. We have stayed in many places in Perth andhave not had to pay a bond anywhere else. Will not be staying againdespite the location and views!

Review 50:The view was amazing.

Review 51:Excellent location, Staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel for any business traveller. Quiet and excellent location for a morning walk

Review 52:Had to pay for wifi

Review 53:Beautiful location with a pair of swans drifting just below our balcony. Unit spacious and very modern. Good and service at breakfast was excellent

Review 54:Location too far from city centre and no local cafes or restaurants. Ground floor apartment opens on to a public waterfront park.

Review 55:Comfortable and well equipped apartment. Waterfront outlook. Good facilities with pools and gym.

Review 56:That we couldn't stay longer

Review 57:Myself and My partner stayed for one night here and was pleasantly surprised by the apartments. We had a river view room which was amazing. From arrival the staff were amazing and the welcome note was a nice touch from the manager! Plus a great mini bar!

Review 58:Need towel rail in bathroom, noisy fan in bathroom, very dirty and dusty exhaust fan in bathroom, no bedside table or lamp in second bedroom, noisy sliding door off main bedroom, didn't like the rooms configuration.

Review 59:Friendly staff

Review 60:Bathrooms smelled a little musty. Would be nice to have an oil defuser.

Review 61:Loved the location, very quiet and comfortable. Staff were delightful. Very relaxing.

Review 62:Abit expensive compared to other surrounding apartments Inability to access twin beds and explaining in advance on deposit wen using a debit card, that's a valuable info clients need to know in advance Small parking spaces' please widen them abit

Review 63:Most of the activities around were fantastic, enjoyed our short stay quiet & peaceful to relax. Parking lots are abit small, too narrow esp with big cars it's not very safe to park in between

Review 64:Noisy rooms overlooking pool, doors into the bathroom, pillows too hard, movies not avail in spare room (for kids etc.)

Review 65:Bed, mini bar, balcony, cleanliness, kitchen, shower head

Review 66:Lack of restaurants and supermarket in area. Bedroom quite small no room to put suitcases needed to be in the lounge area.

Review 67:View of river. Modern unit. Friendly staff.

Review 68:Due to its location, would be good if the hotel provides free shuttle to Fremantle instead of having to walk far to catch the bus 107. Do Provide Bathroom slippers also please.

Review 69:The view is spectacular! Room & toilets r Very clean. For those who rent car, aint need to worry about parking charges because its free of charge!

Review 70:No bench room in the bathroom to put toiletries, makeup etc & no mirrors in any other rooms.

Review 71:Location & view. Great facilities and breakfast was delicious.

Review 72:The heated pool and spa were not warm, albeit warmer than the outdoor pool. The tennis courts were being maintained late into the afternoon and were therefore too wet to play on which was the point of our visit, a family together time.

Review 73:The rooms had a beautiful view. The rooms were big enough for the family to get together in one room

Review 74:Difficult to draw the blackout blinds Limited tea choices - only one option provided Location means you had to drive to get food for dinner (if not self-catering) The fridge and cupboard was well stocked -but bottled water (not large, and not fancy water) was not free (and costs $5!!!) - this needs to be labelled on the containers as these are normally provided FOC in many places.

Review 75:Great view; nice balcony. Comfortable bed. Advertised as executive apartment - I would be comfortable staying here for business purposes if I had to work from the room, provided the internet charges are reasonable (I didn't use internet). Some undercover parking available.

Review 76:that we couldn't stay longer

Review 77:great location, excellent facilities, very comfortable bedding, extremely helpful professional staff (thankyou Lauren) delightful breakfast service

Review 78:Shower flooded bathroom when used we had to build a wall with towels. Don't expect to have to mop up floor when you have a shower. Staff are very aware of problem but do nothing about it.

Review 79:Room was clean.

Review 80:Free wifi & Foxtel should be included in the price of the apartment, as it is in many other lower budget establishments.

Review 81:Beautiful accomodation on the riverfront. Immaculately clean, modern & very comfortable.

Review 82:You need to install a chest of drawers in the room as there was no place to put socks, teefriendly shirts etc. The leather sofa looked good but wasn't comfortable.

Review 83:Our room was very clean and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Bed was very comfortable. The breakfast menu and staff were excellent.

Review 84:Was disappointed in the size of the apartment. Travelled with another couple and was just not big enough for 4 Adults.

Review 85:The view was excellent but unfortunately the weather was dismal so did not get to enjoy it to the fullest.

Review 86:If possible a suggestion I would give was robes for in the room/ travelling to and from the pool/spa

Review 87:The location was perfect, the view on the water was amazing. Also the selection for the continental breakfast was great.

Review 88:Rooms configuration, bathroom is shared by both rooms but attached to second bedroom by direct door, no privacy! Fan wakes people up in the room at night. Bathroom poorly catered, only ONE small soap to share between all guests!! No tissues, only 1 hand towel per room (it should be per person). No towel racks at all in bathroom, we had to hang towels outside in balcony. No toilet brush. Minimum amount of crockery in kitchen, as well as tea/coffee/etc. No bedside table and lamp in second bedroom. A place of this high standards should offer FREE Wi-Fi.

Review 89:The staff were amazing, so caring and accommodating, even changing our room when we weren't happy. The best anywhere! Great location, lovely views from many of the rooms. Master bedroom really nice. Dishwasher very handy! Nice modern place, lovely balcony. Swimming pool and gym fantastic! TV in second room, really good.

Review 90:The staff couldn't work out our stay as it was booked through booking.com double charged us and had to call for a follow up email invoice as it was taken out of our account but no invoice sent.

Review 91:Beautiful view and lovely apartment

Review 92:Lovely apartment, well equipped including mini bar with frozen meals! Great location surrounded by beautiful houses. Small apartment but very comfortable

Review 93:loved everything

Review 94:Spa, tennis, breakfast food and staff were lovely, reception was excellent too. Room was airy, great views over the river and yachts. Beds super comfortable, lovely pillows, plenty of hot water and great facilities including self cook meals on demand.

Review 95:Free wifi? You can have it but you have to sign your life away to get it; assurance you won't be charged left me cold and prevented me using it. Make it easy and me confident.

Review 96:Location, breakfast, our room. Compact but very nice.

Review 97:Tiny apartment for 2 bed rooms. Bath room is very small and strangely shared by 2 adjacent bedrooms. Very noisy extraction fan. Living room very small. TV must be viewed from the bedroom with sliding door opened, otherwise the distance will be too short. WIFI is not free.

Review 98:Clean and newly renovated. Have the lake view from the balcony (Some apartments have full river view but not ours.) Breakfast very nice (at a cost of A$27 with 20% discount).

Review 99:Too far from the main area of Fremantle, even though we had a hire car. Parking is expensive in Fremantle so I would choose somewhere in the main area next time. Most of the tourist spots are within walking distance once in the city area. The shower was lovely and spacious but the vanity in the bathroom had absolutely no space for toiletries. Also there were no towel rails so we ended up hanging our towels in the wardrobe.

Review 100:Beautiful outlook over the river and boats with a walking path in front. We received an upgrade to a two bedroom apartment which was nice. The extra bedroom was handy when one of us had a cough, so we could each get a better night's sleep.

Review 101:Executive room very small. Well equiped but kitchen was tiny.second bedroom had bed crammed up against the wall which made it awkward for getting out of bed for bathroom break. Whenever you turned bathroom light on a very noisy fan came on. In middle of night it woke everyone as bathroom a joined both rooms. hotel a little removed from town centre but easy driving distance.

Review 102:Loved the view from the room. Fabulous

Review 103:Staff were very rude and disrespectful. Spoke down to customers and were not professional at all. The customer service overall ruined my experience as it is a beautiful apartment with great views. Very disappointed and I do not recommend

Review 104:The only complaint I have is the lack of counter space in the bathroom. It is a really beautiful bathroom but not as functional as I like.

Review 105:We really enjoyed the beautiful location, the view of the river was gorgeous! Our room was very comfortable and well equipped. The staff was great and really helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

Review 106:Couch was small and not overly comfortable, but I appreciated the leather as opposed to cloth. Dining setting was dated and felt out of place.

Review 107:Location was stunning. Ease of checking. Privacy of rooms. Balcony made me not want to leave.

Review 108:Nothing

Review 109:I like the view from living/master room. It's worth to stay there, n we have are enjoy to stay at Pier 21. It will be my 1st choice if I a going to Perth again. The beds is very comfort, almost can't wake up everyday.... However individual room don't have air con but is quite cold in the room.

Review 110:Indoor pool & spa were closed for entire stay and outdoor pool wasn't heated. Lacking mirrors in bedroom.

Review 111:Location- convenient for trains into Fremantle and Perth. Views of River Swann from the balcony. Well equipped apartment.

Review 112:Receptionist told us we could pay cash when we check out. On the day of check out, there was a new staff and she didn't know how to get that done. We waited 1/2hr just to check out. They should have gotten an experienced staff to help her. Baby cot had no mattress. Just a thin board.

Review 113:Very clean and beautiful room with everything we need.

Review 114:We didn't like having to leave and will be back for a longer stay soon, however the cruise ship wasn't going to wait for us.

Review 115:The stay at Pier 21 started with a very welcoming reception staff and continued through out our stay. The view from the balcony and the comfort of the t bedroom apartment help us start our three week holiday in just the correct frame of mind.

Review 116:The lift was a bit scary as it 'jumps' when stop.

Review 117:The no location and the friendly staff esp Danielle n the chef. The services were exceptional.the

Review 118:The hotel is just a little bit far from most of the tourist areas, cafe strip and city centre and the nearest public transport appeared to be rail. I used the train each day to travel from Nth Fremantle to Fremantle and the trains are clean and run regularly. It was about 15 minutes walk to the station and I'm a fit person, but some may find that a little difficult.

Review 119:I found Fremantle to be an ideal spot for relaxing after an intense sporting competition. Plenty of places to visit, things to do, or just sit and watch. Great restaurants, bars and parks and ideal weather (April). The hotel is in a very quiet area overlooking the river.

Review 120:Only regret was that the Riverside suite (room 12) is close to the boundary and the neighbouring property were VERY loud and it went on late into the night. This did rather spoil the tranquility that I wanted to create for my Sister & her husband.

Review 121:Service focus. Riverside suite lovely. Setting wonderful

Review 122:I felt the breakfast choice was limited, and the site is not serviced by public transport. The location is only really suitable for use by travelers with a car.

Review 123:The accommodation was really very good.

Review 124:The cleanliness was poor with us having to wash all crockery and utensils before using. The indoor pool and spa were very average.

Review 125:The proximity near Fremantle and just south of perth is fantastic a nd being on the river with a balcony from where you see Dolphins just ten metres away: brilliant.

Review 126:Had to park in the street. Inadequate crockery for the amount of people. Some items in mini bar had been opened and used before we arrived. Apartment very small

Review 127:Great view, comfortable beds, great shower.

Review 128:We booked the two bedroom, which only had one bathroom and it was tiny, there was no space to put a toiletry bag on which made it very hard when sharing with another couple.

Review 129:Friendly staff, prompt check-in. The view from the balcony was gorgeous

Review 130:It's a little walk out of town, so better if you have a car, but taxis are easily available. On the river, though, with great views. Would definitely stay again.

Review 131:Had a larger corner room, so plenty of space. Clean, well-equipped and comfortable. All the staff team were very friendly. Great for us on a first-time visit to Australia.

Review 132:nothing, even the short walk to the nearest bars and restaurants was not an issue

Review 133:spacious suite, ample parking, great breakfasts, wonderful view of the River Swan, lovely little parkland

Review 134:Would've liked a DVD player, so kids could watch their DVD's , and aircon didn't reach the bedrooms , so was a little warm for sleeping . An on site restaurant would've been great.

Review 135:Great balcony, fantastic views of the marina (although room 25 - 2 bedroom apartment) , was on an angle, so didn't have as good an outlook as some of the other rooms. Great modern kitchen well stocked , comfy beds and pillows . Lovely breakfast , although a little pricey and awesome facilities - indoor pool and spa , outdoor pool and tennis court! Great stay!

Review 136:it very pricey but the standard is that of a motel. part of the building is facing a noisy highway and it is not river view as the hotel advertise. i spent three days begging for a quieter room and the reception did its best to give me always the highway side of hotel inventing excuses that it was fully booked. the only chance they left me is to check out waisting time to find another hotel. like in the worst motel the rooms are never guaranteed as they say so they will try they best to give you the worst and noisy room to guarantee probably the riverview side to other fidelity customers. the worst hotel experience in australia

Review 137:nothing

Review 138:Nothing To Dislike.

Review 139:High Standard of Staff. Clean Apartments. Outstanding Views of Marina and Swan River. Complimentary Breakfast Excellent. Under Cover Car Parking.

Review 140:We did not find anywhere within walking distance for a main meal, however the hotel do provide a very good good 'mini bar' service that includes variety of frozen ready meals which can be re heated in the rooms as well as the more usual drinks (choice of spiits, beers, soft drinks and full sized bottles of wine)

Review 141:These are reasonable, well kept, apartments in a good position overlooking the marina. They each have a balcony with table and two chairs. The breakfasts are excellent with a chef there to cook exactly what you order (you can adapt from a good menu) freshly. Kitchenettes include good fridge, small freezer and a dishwasher drawer as well as combination microwave and hob). The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Review 142:Upon arrival to our apartment there were crumbs all over floor in seating area, so we had to ask staff to vacuum the room. (this should have been done before we arrived. There are no fans in the bedrooms, which means we have to leave our bedroom doors open at night to have access to air conditioner. The Key cards to get into our room sometimes wouldn't work and we had to ask the reception 3 times for new cards. This hotel would have been PERFECT if they closed the spa and pools at a later time, like 10pm, instead of 8.30pm, which is what we are used to at other Hotels. We found the closing times to be quite disappointing because we were not able to appreciate the spa after a long and busy day of touring. We would arrive at our apartment, cook dinner then only have time for a 10 minute spa. So if the Hotel would change the closing time, we would make this our permanent Hotel when we visit Perth.

Review 143:We loved the location, by the pier, beautiful surrounds and peaceful, and interesting to watch the boating activity from our balcony, the 2 bedroom apartment was perfect for the 3 of us, and facilities were of a high standard, nice modern kitchen and bathroom, loved the shower head! the staff and cleaning service were great, friendly and very efficient.
