Reviews for Dusit D2 chiang mai

Review 1:Building exterior. Bathroom has a low ceiling. Over 6 ft you will not be able to take a shower standing. Should be renovated. Not 5 star accomodation max 4.

Review 2:Location, staff, entrance, lobby.

Review 3:Pricey,pool on M floor so not much sunshine, daytime nothing around the hotel, breakfast is simple, many chinese and indian guests making the restaurants and lobby very noisy.

Review 4:Right next to night mkt, busy from 6pm till midnight, lots of massage shop and restaurants around, 7-11 is just opposite, walking distance to river area and the old town, staffs are professional, room is quiet.

Review 5:Nothing

Review 6:Excellent hotel - the rooms are lovely and very big! We got the club package which was great, having the free snacks and drinks on a evening was a good way of chatting to other people staying at the hotel. The pool area is small but there is always beds free. Hotel is in a great location, near to the market and bars. I would definitely go back, had a great stay here.

Review 7:English language in the restaurant was a continual problem for the four-day period we were there. The staff were eager to help but we were served pancakes and bacon instead of poached eggs and bacon. There were a number of misinterpretations made and we began to accept the situation with a few smiles.

Review 8:Location to Night Bazaar

Review 9:Shower went a little hot and cold. Staff seemed to fix it by the second day so all good.

Review 10:Loved the modern, sleek theme and prime location to night bazaar and old city. Decent gym too.

Review 11:Not a 5 start standard. I reserved a club room non smoking but I was assigned to a smoking floor. The small was bad and no reasonable alternative was provided (they suggested to move me to a lower room with a bad view)

Review 12:Friendly staff and great location.

Review 13:Great location for night market. Staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Good breakfast. Nice clean modern hotel. Massages are brilliant

Review 14:The rooms were great and the staff were incredibly helpful. We arrived slightly early but it didn't take them long to have the room ready for us. Only thing we got caught out by was the fine print on the bottom of their snacks menu that added service charge and tax to the end of the bill, so food is a bit expensive. That being said, the food and the service was awesome, so I suppose that's the price you pay for quality! Wasn't far from the Sunday walking market and plenty of bars and restaurants near by if you wanted to pop out for something a little cheaper to eat. Breakfast was reasonable though and well worth it!

Review 15:Location: Almost a ghost town before 5:30pm. Can't get any food as no shops are open except hamburgers and pizza. The merchandise offer by every single shop in the night mkt is almost identical.

Review 16:Very friendly staffs and excellent breakfast. Location is practically next to the night market.Food is nearby and very economical

Review 17:The eating competition was totally out of place in a hotel claiming otherwise to have such green credentials and struck a very sour and crass note in a country where many still go hungry.

Review 18:This is really a personal choice and probably won't effect most people. Even though the hotel is in a very central location we didn't like being near the night bazzar. The area was full of highrised hotels and trashy touristy stuff. We much preferred being inside the walled city - lots of Thai temples and a better vibe. Oh and the food was a bit pricey too.

Review 19:The hotel is very clean, modern, staff were great. I loved the little dance demo the staff did in the foyer everyday. It was the best breakfast menu we had during our 3 weekstay in Thailand. If you are after a "Thai" feel though then this hotel isn't for you. More large modern contemporary (and orange!)

Review 20:Bathroom lights that shine through curtain into bedroom, this bothers the other person already in bed. The light switch over sink cannot be turned on individually.

Review 21:Warm hospitality and prompt assistance of staff . The comfortable and spacious room and facilities provided .

Review 22:Room was actually too cold, even after I'd turned the a/c off. But no big deal.

Review 23:Perfect location. Excellent breakfast. Nice club lounge in the evenings for a glass of wine.

Review 24:We had a leak in the ceiling and were upgraded to their best room for 4 days.

Review 25:English speaking staff in a beautiful hotel with a modern feel. Was treated exceptionally well with extras you don't expect.

Review 26:I swim so pool too small. Breakfast could be a little more western [including bacon with eggs etc] and a little more Thai. Felt like a bit of an average. BUT otherwise stay very good.

Review 27:The staff and the business culture is excellent. a wonderful stay.

Review 28:Bathing supply is not stable (sometime hot sometime cool). Pillow too soft.

Review 29:Great Location, few steps to Night bazaar. Staff is helpful and polite. The reception spoke fluent English and arranged a taxi for us to Airport (standard 150B) when she knew we hadn't arranged.

Review 30:The location of the hotel was excellent for the night street markets. The hotel was clean and modern. The best thing about the hotel was the staff. They went above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and welcome. On arrival we were directed to a couch and given a cold drink while our checkin was complete. We were also given a complimentary room upgrade. Best hotel stay in Thailand.

Review 31:We loved our 9th floor room with loads of space and huge bed and lovely bathroom. Staff really helpful. Breakfast buffet choices immense. Right near Night Market and easy to get around.

Review 32:Having to leave!

Review 33:Right opposite night market Lovely attentive staff Colours and design of lobby and rooms Upgraded to suite - fantastic Great cocktails Breakfast buffet excellent

Review 34:Breakfast was a 'mixed bag'. Go early and you risk tour groups that shout between themselves and children running about, go late and the foods cold! (We stopped going). All the staff are young, some were great, others didn't want to be there. The rooms are very old-fashioned decor with uncomfortable, backless fixed furniture. Club class was the worst we have experienced anywhere. Many reviewers have mentioned their disappointment, seems like no lessons have been learnt. Claims to be 5*, more like 3.5*. One of the 2 elevators didn't work for much of our stay. Ladies sauna didn't work either.

Review 35:Location. Some of the staff delightful.

Review 36:It would have been perfect, but we had a terrible night experience. The room was full of mosquitoes and the bed had very tiny bugs.We didn't sleep all night

Review 37:Modern,good hotel and good location.

Review 38:Some of the guests that stayed were rather rude to staff in dining area. If you want a 6 star coffee service included in the package you are rude and unreasonable

Review 39:Staff had excellent attitude and were able to accommodate all requests cheerfully and promptly. Location was excellent. Food and Dining facilities the best I've seen.

Review 40:Not much!

Review 41:the staff, in particular, the head bell hop rendered his advice and assistance like a real pro! He arranged trips for us and gave us advice on places of interest to visit. All with a smile! He goes by the name of "Mr Yang". A real asset to this hotel indeed!

Review 42:The hotel required a lot of renovation. I don't understand how it could be rated five stars falling in the same category as the Oriental, the Shangri-La, the peninsula, Ect. It was definitely at the class of a three-star as needed so much work. Even the showerhead did not work without constantly adjusting.

Review 43:The people.

Review 44:The massage treatment inhouse was too expensive

Review 45:Very well locatey. Next to the night bazar where you can find authentic food and super cheap massages. Friendly staff. Always willing to help.

Review 46:Wifi was very stable, however, it is limited for 2 devices for each room, which is not enough for a couple to share amongst 2 tablets and 2 mobile phones these days.

Review 47:* Very convenient location in town * Friendly and helpful staff * Fresh feeling of the hotel decoration (Orange + White color)

Review 48:None

Review 49:Night market is right in front of the hotel. Number of fast food restaurant nearby, as well as Starbucks and 7-eleven. Very convenient and the location is totally superb!! The room is excellent and one of the room was upgraded. Wifi is great, just need to log in few times every time you turn off but it's not a problem. Staff is really friendly and always smiling. We will definitely come back to stay.

Review 50:The service upon checking in - The person who checked me in was repeating the same message again and again, as if I did not understand/hear him the first time. I just had to say, yes, I heard and understood you very well! (**found out that my booking was not included breakfast, he offered to give me a special breakfast rate for 3 days, and 'must' be paid tonight (if I want to have the 'special' rate) before midnight). Then he escorted me to the room, before he left 'again' he mentioned about the offer is valid before midnight tonight. I just had to say yes..yes.. Anyway, unfortunately while escorting me, he did not explain that we need to put our room key in a slot on the lift, in order to go up to the room. So, there was I, tired from walking, tried to go up, but button would not lit up, fortunately there was a gentleman who was kind enough to show me how to go up the room. Concierge - There was no concierge on the lobby, I was asked to go up upstairs to find the concierge. At the end, went to a street in the city, with recommendation of one the Front Desk staff, to visit an Art Museum, which after spending thb100 on a Tuk Tuk, found out the the place was closed and in preparation the next day...hhhmm would have been nice, if the staff could check with concierge/information so that the guest does not have to go, spend the money for nothing. Housekeeping - on the 1st day, came back around 330pm, found my room was not cleaned eventhough had the 'make up my room' light. Luckily, had my Spa appointment, so I did not have to stay in the room.

Review 51:The Spa - Khun Nok, was great. Highly recommend her for anyone who needs a pair of strong hands. Service overall was very good. Very happy.

Review 52:The staff are very efficient and friendly.

Review 53:The hotel was very good ,the staff is polite they did upgrade for me to suite , but the they have halal food menu hotel should be 4 start

Review 54:There is bad smell on the corridor (maybe smoking floor)

Review 55:Location and stuff are very kind and nice. Allows me to check out late as I requested.

Review 56:late delivery of newspaper to hotel, and no Bangkok Post newspaper available.

Review 89:Really helpful front desk staff, and fantastic breakfast buffet. Not cheap but undoubted value for money if you are looking for some self-indulgence.

Review 90:Nice staff n good location

Review 91:Swimming pool and sun loungers, not enough sun loungers in sunbathing spots

Review 92:Evening gifts

Review 94:We appreciate the welcome drinks and the double upgrade!!!!

Review 95:Would be nit-picking to leave a comment

Review 96:Professionalism

Review 97:But staffs has poor service mind. Breakfast is limited and less variety.

Review 98:Room is clean and look modern.

Review 99:Room temperature uneven. One night freeIng. Maintance fixed next night too hot

Review 100:The shower head was hung too low on a bracket against the wall. Not easy to use.

Review 101:Decent size room, not one of those tiny bed cubicle.

Review 102:Everything was okay.

Review 103:Stylish hotel Good location Helpful staff

Review 104:without lifeguard and too deep for my kids

Review 105:location convenience

Review 106:The bed was a little unconfortable.

Review 107:Everything regarding the facility and breakfast.

Review 108:The food in the restaurant is exorbitantly priced for the market prices! almost extortionist prices

Review 109:Clean facilities, well located

Review 110:Almost nothing

Review 111:Everything

Review 112:Bathtub was very high and a little hard to get into to. The bathroom was a little sour smelling, could be the shower curtain . The view from our room window faced other buildings and a parking lot.

Review 113:Service was great, food was excellent. All the people in hotel were very professional and attentive . The decor and furniture were very nice. Big screen TV in lobby allowed us watch World Cup games and they had the schedule posted. The club service was wonderful between 5-7 pm. The appetizers were delicious and red and white wine was great.

Review 114:The place is starting to show its age - rooms have a little wear and tear. Sheets could have been a bit cleaner.

Review 115:Excellent, attentive staff. Free wifi. Bed was pretty comfortable.

Review 116:Although clean, my room was musty smelling. I think it's a bit overpriced. I had a hotel in BKK, with full kitchen and laundry facilities, for a fraction of the price.

Review 117:The location. And the bed pillows. Great pillows.

Review 118:Staff was not very warm and welcoming as we have experienced in many other places. They weren't unfriendly, they could just could have been a bit more accommodating.

Review 119:Good location to reach the markets and walk around the city.

Review 120:Small pool and room service was ok only

Review 121:Great location, excellent wifi access- unlimited and clean comfortable room with comfortable beds. Friendly helpful staff

Review 122:there was nothing that I did not like.

Review 123:Staff were excellent. I had an issue with my room safe. Your staff were excellent in the way that they replaced within 30 mins.

Review 124:Extremely expensive breakfast at hotel. We always ate out.

Review 125:On the doorstep of the night market. Staff were always extremely helpful. We booked a day trip with the hotel to go elephant trekking and bamboo rafting etc because it was so much cheaper than booking it outside which really surprised us. Mr Job and his driver picked us up and looked after us all day - lunch and water all day included, amazing day trip!!

Review 126:Requested double bed and was given two singles pushed together, wearrived at 10pm and our room was not ready as the booking had not beenconfirmed through booking.com. Made to feel very unwelcome at thebeginning. Staff were very nice thereafter, however no compensation wasmade for the poor reception and room on arrival. Unacceptable forsupposed 5 star hotel. Pillows were too soft and no alternativesavailable. Woke with sore neck after.

Review 127:Pool area was lovely and staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 128:Small though perfectly functional room. Terrible view from the 4th floor window.

Review 129:Great location. Very clean and comfortable. Pleasant, efficient and helpful staff. Good food at Moxie.
