Reviews for Golden Triangle Boutique Hotel

Review 1:These days most hotels where we have been have a Gideons bible in the their top drawer but unfortunately we didnt find one here.

Review 2:The bed was one of the most comfortable I have found in a hotel! Nice quality fitout to rooms.

Review 3:No coffee or tea making facility in the room. Also the smaller rooms are a bit tight for space.

Review 4:Location is excellent only a 5 minute walk from the church of the spilled blood and metro station and 10 minutes from the Hermitage. Breakfast is great with a wide selection of hot and cold food available. Room was well kept with a great shower room.

Review 5:It was a very good breakfast and it tasted very Nice. Big offer. The beds where very soft, you gott also balsam and shampoo and bodylotion! Nice! Near the center!

Review 6:Reception is in level 3, too many stairs to the lift. Staffs are not that helpful and nice. Water was turning to cool and finally there is no hot water when I had a shower in the morning…sigh!!!

Review 7:Location is perfect !

Review 8:Super small rooms No Desk available to work in the room. noisy rooms (building shared). Rooms number XX1 are the noisiest!!! close to stairs...

Review 9:Breakfast and location

Review 10:- heating didn't work properly: either it was too cold in the room (because of opened window) or too warm, it could not be adjusted! - breakfast is so so la la...would espect better quality food from a 4 star-hotel - cigarette smell on the entire 6th floor - like, in cheap asian hotels, awful for non-smokers

Review 11:- Location is superb, all attractions in walking distance, couldn't be better! - Beautiful building and staircase

Review 12:when we checked in at 15:00 we found out the room was cold and the heating was not working. We wondered why they did not tell us anything in advance but they say it was a temporary problem. We went out for a walk and we returned around 11:00, the room was still cold and we had to call again the lady at the lobby. We had to make another call to have a small heater and an addtitional blanket. A very nice hotel ruined by a poor manager's service.

Review 13:location is great room furniture is very elegant and cozy

Review 14:I didn't like the coffee at breakfast - too weak and little flavour. I would suggest a change here - but the rest of the breakfast was very good.

Review 15:i found the staff helpful and the hotel delivered as detailed on their website. Clean, well-designed and a great location. Breakfast buffet was ample with many offerings.

Review 16:If you want to book an airport shuttle, you have to access the hotel website and do it yourself. The reception staff won't book it for you, and the taxists are mostly mobsters and criminals.

Review 17:Location, staff.

Review 18:The hotel lobby is on the third floor of the building. We had four pieces of luggage as we were about to start a four-week cruise. It was a hustle to get the luggage up to and down from our room.

Review 19:Superb location. All of the famous tourist attractions were a short walk from the hotel.

Review 20:Rubbish is left in locker. no bottle water but only water dispenser, and hot water tap is not working, no kettle in the room, so can't make tea or coffee.

Review 21:location

Review 22:in the dining hall, during breakfast the table cloth was not clean it was covered with spots from the previous guest. The staff service must be improved

Review 23:Nothing

Review 24:A few steps away from the Nevsky Prospect and metro station. The Hermitage is in 5 min walking distance. Our room was small but very clean. Breakfast was big and tasty, we even had Champagne & cheesecake on sunday! Definitely loved our stay!

Review 25:The hotel does not have concierge service. Also, luggage is just left in the luggage room without issuing ticket to ensure the safety of the luggage. the girls are asked to work 24 hours without break, which is really inhuman for the girls working there.

Review 26:good location. nice breakfast.

Review 27:Phone in the room was not working, we asked for a repair which was never carried out. On the last day we realized our towels were not being changed even though we left them on the floor more than once and the sheets were only changed once in 4 days. There was a funny smell about the entire floor we were on, the tipical smell of port cities or cities with many canals.

Review 28:Location, abundant breakfast for russian standards (though not european ones)

Review 29:The standard room is a bit too small, actually smaller than what the photos have shown and the size described. Drinking glasses were not cleaned or replaced during our stay and rubbish bin cleared only occasionally. It was a bit noisy at night from the street performers just round the corner despite the double-glazed windows and the room being on the 4/F. Passcode to the safe didn't work all the time meaning we had to make several attempts each time opening/closing the safe. And the shower cabin had cracks leaking water onto the floor while a shower was taken.

Review 30:Excellent location to major attractions such as Church of the Saviour on Spilled Blood, Hermitage, Palace Embankment. Close to Nevskiy Prospekt, the main street, where there are a lot of shops and restaurants.

Review 31:the elevator is horrible, one tiny elevator for the whole building, most of the time comes full. standard room is very small.

Review 32:Wonderful location, 1 min walk from the main street. everything is with a short walking distance.

Review 33:The level of service and dedication to customer care was both excellent and exemplary. I approached staff with a query the first night of my stay and after midnight. The response was swift, courteous and showed an attentiveness and dedication to deal with my concern was very impressive. Because of this, I loved every moment and everything about my stay. The hotel was very comfortable, very quiet, beautifully designed and perfectly located with only a three minute walk around the corner at the end of the street and 30 seconds to the heart of Nevsky a Prospect. It couldn't be in a better or more convenient location, central to all the city has to offer. The staff were kind, well-spoken and very kind. The breakfast was in a delightfully furnished room with a wonderfully varied selection for breakfast. A fantastic hotel. The best I've stayed in for ten years. I will definitely stay there again when I return to Saint Petersburg.

Review 34:Room was small for the price paid and hard to move around if you have a large suite case.

Review 35:Excellent location with a nice bathroom and welcoming customer service from the staff. Also in a really safe location to see the main sites, access to restaurants and shops.

Review 36:Tea making facilities would have given it a 10 + !

Review 37:This was a perfect hotel, superb standard and right in the heart of St Petersburg. The breakfast selection was amazing. Thank you for a brilliant 5 days.

Review 38:Wifi is not stable. Friendly staff at the reception however it was not always giving a correct recommendations

Review 39:Great location and amazing breakfast. We like clean and nicely decorated room

Review 40:Every day housekeepers forgot to do something, e.g. to take out the trash, or to leave the table water, or to clean up the vacuum. Some staff at the reception could be friendlier. No one at the reception desk when we check out at 3.30 in the night. Elevator is small, but it works.

Review 41:Great location, nice furniture and decoration of de luxe room, good breakfast time, bathrobes in the room, free wifi in the rooms.

Review 42:A strange smell in the bathroom... :/

Review 43:Nice bed, perfect location, loved the breakfast, and also very good shampoo, body gel and conditioner in the room, smelling so lovely

Review 44:Staff at breakfast was very unfriendly and stressed, bathroom was quite small, wifi in room was not that good

Review 45:Very close to all the main sights in Saint Petersburg, nice rooms, good breakfast

Review 46:Safe did not work. Is not bolted down anyway, so could be totally removed. Hot breakfast dishes are cold even at start of breakfast session.

Review 47:Within walking distance of most attractions in St Petersburg.

Review 48:The location is very good, very close to main street Nevsky prospect and to the Hermitage museum, Neva river and other points of interest. The room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable. For the breakfast there was good choice of typical Russian breakfast specialities, like cottage cheese pancakes.

Review 49:The first room smelled of cigarette smoke, but we were moved quickly. No hooks in the bathroom!

Review 50:Just about everything! The location, the comfort, the staff, the breakfast. I couldn't really fault it. Perfect place for a trip to St Petersburg.

Review 51:Tiny lift for the hotel that came up full at all times Curtains were falling Bed sheets were dirty Pubic hair in the bath There were no shampoo & shower gel, we had to request these Unfriendly staff Very noisy although we were on 5th floor Wouldn't recommend it.

Review 52:The location was the only good thing about this hotel.

Review 53:The shower alcove is very small (although the bathroom itself was great). We would have liked tea and coffee-making facilities in the room and an information booklet about the hotel and surrounding area..

Review 54:The location is excellent for both the historical areas and Nevsky Prospect. Staff were excellent and the breakfast the best we had on our trip..

Review 55:The room is small, and the elevator too. The street was a little noisy, and sometimes it was unconfortabke

Review 56:Nice and helpful staff, confortable bed. Near a lot of interest point, including The Hermitage, so we could go there anytime during the day or the night, witch was very nice

Review 57:The lift into the hotel(which was on the third-6th floors)accommodated only four very closely packed persons. This became a real problem with luggage as well as movements at peak times. A tip: because the room is small by Australian standards, travel with smaller bags.

Review 58:We loved the position, within minutes of the amazing Hermitage museum environs, including Neva river for cruising, shopping, restaurants and access to the best of St Petersburg great buildings and architectural marvels. The hotel rooms were small, with beautiful linen and perfect (down)pilllows. Lovely bathroom. The breakfast room off the foyer was very pleasant with a breakfast to suit most tastes. The staff were always helpful and I didn't need my poor Russian language skills. We were pleased to find the money exchange almost next door, with good international rates.

Review 61:lift to the 5th floor - slow and small Room is pretty expensive... Curtains can be better especially during the white nights

Review 62:location : close by walk to all the st petersburg sightseeings - very limited noise from the streets Nice breakfast and nice room Some staff are really professional and helpful where some are really disappointing

Review 63:1. Unimpressive entrance but surprised by new and pleasant interior. 2.Very small elevator for 2-3 guests however did not pose a problem during my 5 night stay. 3. Airconditioning not very effective. Weather was cool so didnt matter very much in June.

Review 64:1. Ideally located about one third of the way off Nevsky Prospect. 2. Conveniently located. Very easy access to souvenir shops, public transport, shopping, restaurants, super markets, money exchange and several places of tourist interest. All within walking distance 3. Impressive new interior of the hotel and the Superior rooms. 4. Pleasant and helpful staff to resolve any issues. 5. A healthy substantial breakfast 6. Has an elevator 7. Free Wifi in hotel and rooms.

Review 65:Room was on the small side with very little storage space so had to use the suitcase as a draw! The lift is very small so there can be queues. No bar but the mini bar in the room is reasonable.

Review 66:Breakfast, location, friendly staff. The shower was great. The reception is very welcoming.

Review 67:Bathroom equipment should be renovated.

Review 68:Ideal location to get to the main attractions, clean, comfortable, very friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast and, despite the hotel is rather small, they have spacious breakfast room, so you can find a table at any time. Good and reliable free wifi. The hotel occupies half of upper 4 floors of 6 floors building. Reception is situated on 3d floor, another half of the building is occupied by art studio of young artists, hostel etc. and there is one concierge and one elevator for the whole building, but we never had problems with neighborhood: all stairs and elevator are clean, and hotel corridors are isolated by locked doors.

Review 69:Deluxe Double Room was small, different from the picture. When we arrived in the room, there were not bathrobes neither safe. Latter on we received bathrobes and safe, but safe was not working. Next day they fixed it. On reception girl was polite but not friendly.

Review 70:Very good location! Very good breakfast!

Review 71:-when i emailed hotel to confirm my booking i got no reply -when i checked in :tv didn't work, tv remote was broken, mini fridge didn't work, there was no safe in the room, no kettle, some towels and pillow case were dirty. it took over 2 hours to get everything fixed, which i had to spend in my room. when i asked house kipping to change dirty pillow case- i saw how dirty the pillow was underneath- i asked for it to be changed as well, but the maid said "you not gonna sleep on the pillow, you gonna sleep on the pillow case-so what do you care''. after that i was shy to ask anything else from her -the gentleman who was fixing tv, was quite pleasant, he saw that i was not happy with the hotel so far- he said that they would like to fix it and make my stay better, so the manager would come up to see what they can do for me, i waited for her for half an hour- but she never came or called. so i decided not to waste any more time and went on about my vacation..but my impression was ruined.

Review 72:- great location -beautiful room decor -free wifi

Review 73:The hotel rooms were a bit small, but totally clean and comfortable. Fine if you just need a place to re-fuel and lay your head while sightseeing.

Review 74:Great location right in the heart of St Peterburg's attractions and very close to the metro. Nice, modern rooms and facilities.

Review 75:My room was near reception on 3rd floor lots of noise, WIFI very poor

Review 76:Breakfast top marks, also staff very helpful and friendly also spoke good English

Review 77:We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Golden Triangle hotel. It is in the heart of the city and all the main attractions are in walking distance. Breakfast was great!

Review 78:- small elevator , very slow, only for 4 (small)pers. , it was not enough place for 2 persons with luggage. - Very poor Wi-Fi connection. ( I had my room in the end of the corridor) I was not able to connect, when I really needed I spent time sitting on the corridor with my laptop. - Cleaning service , everyday when I was back in the hottel arround 15.00/16,00 my room was still uncleaned. - immposible late check out , I asked for check-out around 13.00/14.00 and was informed that it's not possible.

Review 79:- location - tasty breakfast

Review 80:- The only minus is the smell inside the hotel. The building is old, so the air inside is not fresh.

Review 81:+ Interior of rooms and furniture + Location with many good restaurants, sightseeings and shops around + Cleanliness + A great breakfast every morning! + TV with different language channels

Review 82:Everything was great.

Review 83:The hotel is right in the centre in nice surroundings. Clean, well decorated, rooms cozy. Breakfast plenty and fresh. The staff was very helpful and kind. The value for money was great and I would definitely go back to this hotel when visiting St. Petersburg again.

Review 84:There was a bit weird smell first entering the room. That didn't trouble me later but wasn't pleasant at each arrival into the room. I could connect to wifi, but during my whole stay (evening and next morning) internet wasn't working (limited connection).

Review 85:Good breakfast

Review 86:Actually nothing. The hotel was just perfect for my needs.

Review 87:Friendliness of the staff, cleanliness, no street noise or noise from elsewhere. Good breakfast.

Review 88:Nothing.

Review 89:The hotel is situated in the center of petersburg in a nice busy and safe street. There is no traffic here at all and provides a great view when you get out of the hotel. Breakfast offered is perfect and the Receptionists were very quick in checking yummy in and ensuring everything is okay. If you have reserved a tour around Saint petersburg, then this hotel is the best place to book to start your tour.

Review 90:A very small room and a moldy odor in the bathroom.

Review 91:Exellent location right off Nevsky Prospekt, close to the Hermitage and other sights. Nice breakfast. Rooms nicely decorated.

Review 92:Wifi connection would be a bit bad at times.

Review 93:Great location, fairly big breakfast, comfortable bed, and nice bathroom. Front desk was helpful, spoke good English, and did a great job getting us a taxi at a fair rate. Free water on the hallway.

Review 94:The room is quite small (is O.K. for one person staying practically without luggage). And the walls seem to be too thin. You hear every word from the next room...

Review 95:Great pillows and blanket! Wonderful breakfast. Excellent location.

Review 96:No bar (but there is one opposite the hotel). Lobby on 3d floor and no parking possibilities in front of the hotel!

Review 97:comfortable and spacious room. comfortable bed. Good breakfast. Good value for money. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 98:The reception is on level 1, the very small lift takes you from ground floor to 1st floor and the management did advise me of that well in advance of my booked dates, by email, that they were not disability friendly. 1st floor reception was also breakfast area and that entry had a massive 10' tall, extremely heavy, closed fire door, plus 3 more steps up to be negotiated. We had a similar heavy, tall fire door at the lift end of our bedroom hallway, but with 2 steps down. So every morning we would leave our room, try to find something to prop open a crack the fire door on our level (4 I think), wheel me along our corridor, backwards pull me down the 2 steps from our level to the lift, which was directly opposite and open to a large, very scary open staircase, 4 stories high. All this whilst trying to prop open the heavy fire door and not ditch me out of my wheelchair and watch me plummet head first down their lovely stairwell. Then when we got to the breakfast floor the entire pantomime was played out again, only in reverse. we did this and nearly killed ourselves in the process, 3 or 4 times each day. I loved St Petersburg, I loved Russia. The Russian people were no different to any other business like people I have encountered and if anyone we encountered was surly or grumpy, I'd use my big Ozzie grin to soften them up. And it usually did

Review 99:the hotel's proximity to all the most popular sites to visit. As an artist I have had The Hermitage, St Petersburg on my bucket list for 20 yrs, so I was delighted to be able to roll my wheelchair from the hotel to The Hermitage, for 3 days of bliss. The breakfast each morning was wonderful, fresh baked bread, cakes, pastries, fresh cooked mushrooms, tomatoes, sausages, bacon, eggs, fried, boiled and scrambled, fresh ham, salami, fruit juices, tea and coffee. A good meal to start a long day. I can now die a happy person ... I've seen The Hermitage! Very well positioned hotel, friendly staff, tastefully appointed rooms, good size too, perfect for able bodied persons, But I am wheelchair bound so there are some negatives I will address. see the negative report then read on: The staff were courteous and professional and I was told in advance of the accessibility problems, so no blame to the management or staff for my rather interesting stair/lift adventures.

Review 100:The shower room is not good sealed and the water will spill outside the room.

Review 101:The location is good and the street is clean and quiet. The hotel is good at details. Breakfast is also good.

Review 102:The rooms were too too small and bathroom also small.

Review 103:Location was good you could walk to most of the sights and restaurants for food also ballet close by.

Review 104:Standard rooms are extremely small, bed and pillow were too soft for me.

Review 105:Location is great, Deluxe rooms are nice and big, good breakfast, helpful staff, complimentary bottle of water on arrival.

Review 106:My room was on the 3 floor, behind reception, so it was noisy in the evening. Cleanliness of the room may be better. It will be good to have in the room tea facilities

Review 107:Location, breakfast, atmosphere. It is my second stay at this hotel, first time I lived in double big room. Single room is a small but for 1-2 nights it is enough.

Review 109:One of the staff members was not very friendly and made me feel like I was bothering her when I asked a question. It is a little pricey, but I think that's just St Petersburg.

Review 110:The room was clean. Location was amazing. They accommodated all of our requests.

Review 111:Room and location are very good. They forgot to include my cloth wash into the bill. With my reminder, they made a charge separated from the hotel bill.

Review 112:The air condition was out of order and only in my room. For all 3 nights of my staying at the hotel the staff could not fix the problem.

Review 113:Location, breakfast

Review 114:Compared to American hotel rooms, the one at the Golden Triangle was the size of a shoebox, though an elegant shoebox.

Review 115:As they say in real estate, location, location, location. It was within walking distance of St. Petersburg's most memorable sights.

Review 116:The Golden Triangle is walking duistance to all the major sites in St Petersburg. Our room was luxuriously furnished and well sized, with a lovely high ceiling. The double glazing kept the street noise out. The breakfast room was classy, and the selection pretty good. The reception desk was very helpful. If you want room service, a doorman and inhouse restaurants, this hotel ids not for you--this is a boutique property that provides a lovely room rather than the bells and whistles

Review 117:Lobby on 3rd floor...dragging bags into tiny elevator

Review 118:Good sized room, comfortable bed and Excellent breakfast!! Very helpful staff who arranged a tour guide for us.

Review 119:I was warned my room was small, but when I saw it (a high-ceilinged sarcophagus with carpet and wallpaper), I asked if I could move to another room. The hotel was full, but the receptionist said she would check with the Booking Dept. in the morning. I checked the next morning, and I was told nothing was available. I asked if I could get my money back, so I could move to another hotel. At this point, the manager came down and told me I had pre-paid, and I couldn't have a refund. I was able to upgrade to a double room for 2 nights (I paid the extra), but had to move back to the sarcophagus for the remaining 7 nights of my stay. The single rooms are small and claustrophobic. They are less than half the size of the double rooms, but are 81% of the cost of the double room ($180 CAD compared to $220). I recommend that single travellers book the standard double room. It is well worth the extra.

Review 120:The best thing about this hotel is the front desk staff. Four ladies rotate every four days, and despite working very long hours on their own, and having to juggle all the check-ins and -outs, phone inquiries, and other guest requests, they were always so pleasant and helpful. With their assistance and information, I was able to conquer the bus and metro system (Yulia even invited me to accompany her so she could show me where to catch the train for Catherine's Palace). And Irina saved the day by figuring out how to work my electric adapter plug! Thank you to you both for sharing your generosity of spirit. Your kindness is my lasting memory of this hotel.

Review 121:We really loved the hotel decoration and comfort . Looking forward to go back.

Review 122:Location, cleanliness, bathroom, comfort

Review 123:Not bad, but not so good cleaning.

Review 124:Nice looking hotel in the city center, near by subway. Small but quiet room.

Review 125:Perfect location, staff and breakfest.

Review 126:Double room is too small for two. The price is too high for the small room

Review 127:Great location. The best you can find. Loved the breakfast, big choice!

Review 128:the single room is extremely small that there's no desk or even a chair

Review 129:Recommended

Review 130:Good hotel at a very good location.

Review 131:Great location. Good serviced staff

Review 132:Nothing serious.

Review 133:Location is just excellent! Good breakfast and cosy room

Review 134:Somebody's lock of hair in towel.

Review 135:Mostly everything
