Reviews for Fairhaven Guesthouse
Review 1:The bed was not so comfortable, one bathroom to be shared with other rooms, could take a long time to have a shower...
Review 2:Good location, 10 min walking distance to downtown. Self-service breakfast in a well equipped kitchen. Friendly hosts
Review 3:Only one bathroom for the three rooms. The synthetic sheets.
Review 4:Nice porch. Great for smokers Regular breakfast with fruit, coffe, tea. You are asked to wash your dishes.
Review 5:Nothing really ,maybe the fact it has only one bathroom for three rooms. And, not really breakfast, but possibility to make your own breakfast would be the right statement. For us it did not pose problem
Review 6:It is very cute house, quiet neighborhood convenient location to downtown mall and restaurants, nice common areas, comfortable bed, basic and affordable. The hosts very nice and helpful.Very pleased with our stay here.
Review 7:Flame and Raven are a lovely couple who offer you a home away from home. Use of (shared) bathroom, kitchen. Nice common livingroom. Good location, 20 min walking distance from the centre of Charlottesville with shops and restaurants. Nice neighbourhood.
Review 8:nothing it's a shared bathroom but only 3 rooms, so no problem at all
Review 9:-we could check in earlier than planned, the owners are very friendly! -we got some nice organic food and could prepare our own little breakfast with it -within walking distance to downtown charlottesville -nice neighbourhood -we enjoyed the contact to other travellers staying there -there was a farmers market around the corner
Review 10:There are a few steps to climb, about 10 to 12. Artistic, ecologic and organic values. Very friendly. Fairhaven is in a split level house, owners downstairs & customers upstairs. Concrete wall at the street with metal railing to get up steps.
Review 11:While I was their only guest for the night, I had the bathroom all to myself. Otherwise, the occupants in each of the 3 guestrooms must share 1 bathroom. The mattress in my room was old and uncomfortable.
Review 12:The hosts, Raven and Flame, were very nice. Around the corner, there was a nice park. The quality of the available breakfast food was better than chain hotels.
Review 13:I didn't like nothing. That means I liked everything! :-)
Review 14:I visit C'ville each week to visit my mom in her nursing home. I don't always stay at the Fairhaven Guesthouse, but when I do, I know the Wi-Fi will be fine, and I (and you) will have no spurious advertising getting in the way of your internet needs, as you often get at motels in the area (Such as the Econo Lodge, North).
Review 15:Early in Spring 2015, the a/c was not turned on, and the overhead fan in my room was not effective, so I was hot through the hot & muggy night. The owner has since told me he plans to replace that ceiling fan with a better one.
Review 16:Almost everything.
Review 17:The room is very basic and small; the mattress is uneven; breakfast is self-serve including clean-up.
Review 18:The location not too far from downtown C-ville ; free parking ; pleasant host
Review 19:Felt like we were staying at an acquaintance home. Also, dogs barking next door kept us awake till nearly midnight. Sorry guys, after experiencing it, the "shared" concept isn't for us.
Review 20:Easy to find and very nice host.
Review 21:This property is basically set up as a self-catering unit, which isfine, but I arrived after a long walk and extremely tired. Theoverwhelming greeting that I was given was to pay (in cash) & thenlectured on how I had to clean/prepare everything myself...so, likebeing at home but paying for what I do every day!
Review 22:This would be a good place to stay for several nights...as a base toexplore the area...rather than a one nighter...it is undeniably alovely spot
Review 23:Probably sharing the same bathroom, but it was never a problem with both of the other guests being thoughtful. We knew ahead of time this was the arrangement! It was fine!
Review 24:Being here was home-like! The owners were present in their own living space but not living in the same space as the guests. Having a kitchen with all appliances to use was nice!
Review 25:Well equipped and great service. At walking distance from the historic center of Charlottesville. Half an hour driving from Blue Ridge Parkway and Shenandoah NP, one hour from Richmond.
Review 26:An exceptionally good guest house. The host were so welcoming that we felt like home at once! The facilities are good, the breakfast is great :) "-" - It has turned out to be a little bit further than I expected.
Review 27:Just a quick drive from Monticello but not too close to "Downtown" and many Restaurants
Review 28:Felt just like staying in a friend's home. Clean and comfortable and very affordable. Not a luxurious hotel but just what we needed for a quick one night stay in Charlottesville
Review 29:Like coming home
Review 30:the hosts' environmental knowledge and concern, the quiet, the spirit that pervades the home.

Review 33:Host made me feel welcome
Review 34:Nothing to criticise
Review 35:Friendly reception. Very neat set-up: you can prepare your own breakfast. Generous shared living space. Quiet.

Review 37:Nice, cosy athmosphere. The back porch was very comfortable as well as the nice true owner of the house. the cat.
Review 38:the location, thought it was a country house
Review 39:the hosts
Review 40:Friendly home from home
Review 41:Nothing really
Review 42:Flame and Raven! Comfort and integrity of the business.
Review 43:Location was great, friendly hosts that were very accommodating and cleanliness of the place made this a good choice for our week-end overnight escape
Review 44:My only gripe was that the bed wasn't great.
Review 45:This place was awesome, and I will definitely be back!
Review 46:Perhaps more breakfast items to choose from.

Review 49:Owners Self catering VFM
Review 50:Great hospitality. Homely ambiance.
Review 51:The location is awesome! great for walking, good restaurants, parks and a bunch of wineries. The landlords are super friendly and very helpful.
Review 52:Shared small bath. But I know this when I booked.
Review 53:Staff was the owner. Nery nice. House is very nice. Will go again.
Review 54:Even though the house had the AC on, and the room had a fan, it was still quite hot at night, but then it was a especially stuffy day in Charlottesville.
Review 55:Excellent, albeit brief, stay in this fantastic guesthouse. They were very accomodating in the check-in time, and were there for us to explain the features of the house, including all the very well taken-care-of details like the delicious organic foods that we enjoyed in the morning for breakfast. They also gave us a few recommendations on places to visit and check for dinner, with great taste. Absolutely recommended.
Review 56:We had a wonderful stay at the guesthouse! The hosts were very nice and welcoming! They made us feel comfortable and at home and we had a lovely stay. I would recommend this to anyone! The hosts are very approachable and if you have any problems, I am sure they would help you out! The rooms are clean and beautiful and breakfast is healthy. You can enjoy your breakfast on the porch if you want. The hosts are also very proud of there town and they can tell you were you have to be and guide you to the right spots.
Review 57:I loved it all! The experience was better than I expected.
Review 58:Good friendly people! Comfortable beds, clean house on a quiet street. Located near Monticello and Ash Lawn. Will definitely stay again when in Charlotteville!
Review 59:The only thing I don't like is that there's no milk for the breakfast (But the owner prepared several kinds of cereal, so I guess that milk is probably just out of stock on that day.)
Review 60:Very satisfied. Feel like home. The owner is very nice. The house is clean and warm. Wi-fi works perfect. All the food are organic which are so amazing.
Review 61:a bit far from city center, about 20-25 min walk to downtown
Review 62:all good
