Reviews for Impiana Resort Chaweng Noi, Koh Samui
Review 1:The road is a bit busy and you can't walk anywhere (no community near by). Taxis are waiting across the street just budget to jump in a cab for random shopping adventures, dinner excursions or other day trips.
Review 2:The beach was amazing, clean and great for swimming. I saw a lot of smaller children really enjoying the opportunity to swim as the waves are not as strong. My room was terrific for the price but had suite with living room facing sea.
Review 3:The location made it difficult to walk to many restaurants. The food and bar should include service and taxes
Review 4:The pool was beautiful as was the section on beach it is on. The WIFI worked very, very well. The food was delicious and very well priced, and the cocktails were superb!
Review 5:The rooms were old and not very clean. The bed was hard as a rock and uncomfortable.
Review 6:We got upgraded so our room was by the beach. The beach is nice. However, there are not many other restaurants and bars around the hotel. Have to go to Chaweng And taxi cost THB 300 one way.
Review 7:Too far from everything... Dudes selling stuff on the beach, a bit annoying. When you order the room take it breakfest included or you pay 300 b for it every day which is a bit expensive... The sea was still full of waves very uncalm (east side of the island) and the visibility for snorkeling zero. I moved to koh tao where it is west side and very calm and clear sea... So better choice
Review 8:Hotel is very nice with cool garden. Very close to the sea and very calm area though get to the main street next to chaweng beach is either taxi or scheduled hotel free transfer or 30 minutes walk on the beach. Not much around the hotel though hotel is usually having live music.
Review 9:No garden facing room provided vs the booking and also charged for older kid stay. Room is too small for 2 adults and 2 kids with extra 1 bed added.
Review 10:The seaside view is good and comfortable. Near to night market and happening places.
Review 11:Not the place for views from room- ours overlooked the main road. Inside the rooms are conventional.
Review 12:Very nice hotel- am conveniently close to Koh Samui Airport which is why we chose it. The resort is better suited to couples and families, the beach outside has more of a European feel so not the place to stay if you want a more rustic or authentic Thai experience
Review 13:A certain Indian group customer were so loudly.
Review 14:All staff were so nice. Especially, day time bar guys are acting promptly and I felt real hospitality from them. They looks not good at English but it is not a problem their attitude were so nice. Beach sheet were always clean. Will definitely revisit this hotel. Also the beach was so clean, no stones etc. Dinner food, table setting and music band were awesome, so it's sufficient without go to noisy town.
Review 15:All minor and did not impact but hard beds - did not impact sleep though. Others have mentioned more hangars would be handy. Our room did not have a ceiling fan - I would have preferred that at night to constant air con. No clock. If you love your tea or coffee take some from home and some long life milk. Desk staff had poor English and my husband is correct in saying that for a hotel of this calibre, seeing as all the foreigners spoke English - I think we were only one of two couples English speaking - they should hire people who have a better command of it. As much as they tried it could be frustrating when we were trying to find information. Many of the people in KS had good English. However staff were lovely.
Review 16:Fabulous clean and quiet beach. Crystal clear and warm water. Lovely well planned hotel with great facilities including an infinity pool, pool table, open air lounge, stunning gardens. Everything maintained to the highest order..Best breakfast ever!!!Best toiletries including soap powder! Meals taken in open restaurant overlooking beach. Theme nights with some on the beach, a lot of effort spent in decorating. Live band every night. Beautiful beach bar with Happy Hour 3 times a day.Lived up to recommendations from a friend. Hotel is so nice most people spend the day on the beach on daybeds and bean bags. It went against my grain to claim a sunbed before I was ready for it but in the end I realised it is what is done and I placed our towels on one after my early morning swim and before breakfast.Lovely atmosphere. Lovely spa and I enjoyed cheap massages also on the beach next door. We walked into Chaweng along the beach a couple of times to have dinner (had to take an illegal shortcut through a hotel when we hit some rocks and a stream!). It takes about an hour but is a fabulous way to holiday. Thanks Booking.com for a great rate!
Review 17:Our room is garden view, well more like no-view. Fortunately, we spent our days on the beach. So it's non issue. Next time, i'd definitely will choose the sea-view instead.
Review 18:The beach
Review 19:When we checked in we were put in one of the cottages on the south side of the resort. The cottage was small, smaller than a typical hotel room, actually, and at certain times of day it reeked of sewer gas; I don't mean a little, I mean really bad. when I pointed out that I was a repeat customer and would likely come back if they moved me, they did so immediately to another cottage on the north side of the resort. It was more spacious and did not smell, so I will go back to the Impiana.
Review 20:I stayed here twice. It represents good value for money and is away from the density and madness of the main area around Chaweng. It is not far enough away to be inconvenient
Review 21:Just a couple of minor issues. Hi-speed wifi...kept dropping out. This seems to be a problem at a lot of the hotels though, not just here. Also the room was a tad small. Don't know if there are bigger rooms? Maybe there is....
Review 22:Nice spot on the beach with great amenities i.e. Restaurant (with live music most nights), bar, pool. Friendly staff and very clean & tidy in all aspects. Will recommend!
Review 23:Wifi was a little patchy but that's just being picky.
Review 24:the staff were very friendly and very efficient. The food at the beach side bar was excellent especially the seafood BBQ.
Review 25:the room we got was super small so just ask them to change it. they have big rooms for the same price. not to much to do at night
Review 26:the beach is like a pool quiet
Review 27:only minors that doesn't spoil the experience. so many concrete stairs were trouble and bit of a danger for our 18 months baby. And our room didn't really had a seaview as advertised. but 20 meters from beach, who cares : ))
Review 28:We loved quality of the beach, attention of staff and food. breakfast were great.themed dinners. we tried only bbq buffet and it was amazing.
Review 29:English isn't great with many of the staff which can cause some problems as well as everyday our room and bathroom had a sewerage smell that was never properly fixed. They just came and burned incense most times in our bathroom which didn't fix the problem but just mask it. This was really frustrating because our room almost constantly had a terrible smell. Other than this everything was perfect!
Review 30:Loved the variety at the buffet breakfast and the staff were lovely enough to upgrade our room to the beautiful little cottages with ocean views which were so beautiful. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had a fabulous time and loved the Friday bbq buffet on the beach on our last night.
Review 31:The bathroom really stinks but I had that everywhere in Thailand so I guess it is not their fault. Also it is a little far from everywhere but there is a shuttle 4 times a day to Chaweng (10min) and back. A scooter is 200 Baht so dirt cheap, you should get one and taxis come by every minute just make sure to negotiate the price.
Review 32:The staff was incredibly friendly despite of many reviews I red. We had a little animal incident the first night and got a new room that night and an upgrade for the rest of the stay. I can absolutely recommend the deluxe room it was beautiful and had a huge balcony. The room we had before was nice too but a little small but ok. The breakfast was the best I had in Thailand with many many choices of Thai food, fruits, English breakfast etc. The beach area is nice with no other hotels right next to it. Bar and Restaurant is right on the beach and prices are absolutely ok, 250 baht for a main dish.
Review 33:The internet was horrible, it did not work on the bedroom, but worked fine in the other areas. The bed was nothing special. If they fix the internet I would stay again.
Review 34:We had a upgrade in our first night, we received a bedroom on the ground floor facing the garden, very quiet area. It's in a good location and there is shuttle to the center of the fun 4 times a day. The breakfast is the best I ever had, they do all types of eggs with ham, cheese, tomatoes and etc inside, it's a international breakfast, so you will find bacon, croissant, pasta, sausage, etc and a great variety of juices. The staff are great, helpful and friendly :)
Review 35:Smoking was allowed in the restaurant and beach chair area, that could have been avoided for those who don't and for children's sake.
Review 36:Beautiful property, nice, quite and away from the town.
Review 37:They gave us a room full of insects and mosquitoes and we had to call them few times before they sent someone to light a mosquito lamp which never worked. The drain in the bathroom was blocked and the guy sent to deal with it left the bathroom dirty, muddy and smelly and the worst was that the drain stayed blocked all the time we were staying in and we didn't bother complaining anymore as their staff looked grumpy & unhappy most of the time. We spent all the time spraying ourselves with insects repellent and rubbing the bites with tiger bum. Definitely not going back there
Review 38:Easy access to the beach and good food
Review 39:Some bugs in the bathroom (on two nights) and not the usual ones that we are used to from living in South-East Asia.
Review 40:Very nice staff. A little far away from everything but that's actually something we liked. Got a birthday cake and a nice flower arrangement!
Review 41:Had some nasty bugs in the toilet but were offered a small discount.
Review 42:It's a beautiful resort with very friendly staff. Excellent Wi-Fi. Nice beach but for veteran South-East Asia travelers not amazing.
Review 43:Deluxe room was spacious and comfortable. I rarely eat in hotels but enjoyed their meals including an international buffet breakfast. Beach is great.
Review 44:Almost every morning there were few homeless dogs on the beach, they were sleeping under hotel's sun loungers, sitting&walking around, that was quite annoying. We really hope hotel will handle this problem.
Review 45:Great location, very quite, clean beach, delicious breakfast at seaside, live music every day. Nice clean rooms, a bit old, but it wasn't bothering us at all. We have enjoyed each day of our stay in this hotel. We definitely will come back here!
Review 46:Room Service was poor when it came to staff collecting finished room service plate/s from room. on three occasions, I placed the finished plates on the balcony table outside my room and had been sitting there outside all next day and on the 3rd occassion it was left out for 2 days.
Review 47:Room Service was excellent when it came to delivering room service food to room.
Review 48:Bed was slightly firm. Location is not ideal if you want to be within walking distance of main cheweng- we didn't so for us it was perfect.
Review 49:Staff were really helpful, location was great for being away from the center of cheweng but close enough to both cheweng and Lamai town centres to have varied evenings out. Beautiful view from the hotel with all the amenities you could ask for in the hotel room.
Review 50:The pool area is a little small.... And it is far away from port and airport
Review 51:Beautiful staff and beach bar!
Review 52:Not friendly for old people and nil wheelchair access
Review 53:Amazing beach, territory, pool, live music in the evening, good breakfast!
Review 54:Restaurant staff can be friendlier (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Review 55:Great location and superbly maintained facility. Excellent value for money.
Review 56:Mixed drinks.
Review 57:Location was perfect being right on the beach.
Review 58:very good location and quiet beach
Review 59:Far from nightlife for those interested Breakfast could have more fruits and fresh juice
Review 60:Beach Location Quietness
Review 61:had to call every day to clean my room, maintenance of resort not good, old beach beds, lousy Internet
Review 62:the beach
Review 63:Nothing
Review 64:The food and the beach.
Review 65:nothing
Review 66:everyting
Review 67:Overpriced food and drinks
Review 68:The beach was great, the food was great , the spa was great!
Review 69:Lot's of attention to wedding details. Very nice!
Review 70:Bed very hard Need more shuttle times in evening
Review 71:Location and amenities and staff are amazing
Review 72:Busy main road
Review 73:Lay out of Hotel lovely grounds right on beach.
Review 74:The room was smelly.
Review 75:very good breakfast and good style. Enough beach bed.
Review 76:Not liked: Bugs in bathroom, location, and breakfast food.
Review 77:Liked: Service and staff, room, beach, spa and facilities. Cake for birthday celebration!
Review 78:for the price that i paid i was expecting to somthing more impressive. planty of musqitos.
Review 79:good location- the staff was very nice.
Review 80:The hotel was not really able to assist us in planning any excursions (a sunset cruise for instance).
Review 81:some staffs in restaurant
Review 82:I canceled my book according to the previous comments. While the Impiana refuse to. Now, I shall give my gratitude for the Impiana and give my contempt to those who totally disparaged the Impiana. I do admit some staffs are not good enough ,while the Impiana should not be blamed so blind
Review 83:I was disappointed with room layout .The furniture is getting old. The sliding doors are worn out you can hear the outside noises. Also lizards crawling underneath the main door into the room, that was really poor from a gud name hotel. Not to mention the toilet, lights not enough , exhaust fan is not working properly causing bad smell in the room especially at nite. Although the breakfast was gud however mainly suits chinese. They should have segregation for veg. guests. Recommendations already passed to hotel management to consider.
Review 84:I liked the location, The staff are friendly, Their guest rest lounge is comfortable. The overall layout of the hotel is gud. We enjoyed the seafood nite.
Review 85:The price is too high for this hotel. It is in a bad location, there is no fitness center and there are many other hotels with better value for your money.
Review 86:Free taxi to Chewang and dinner by the beach with live music
Review 87:The people and the service was really bad. No any customer attention and none of the staff was nice to us.
Review 88:The place on the beach was very nice. Very nice breakfast
Review 89:The check in was a bit rude and we were no really welcome as we arrive at 10pm, we feel we were disturbing them with heir Phone. For the payment it was a bit hard to get an invoice, maybe also that was too much work to ask for.
Review 90:The Breakfast Buffet was excellent on the beach. The room are very well maintained and great.
Review 91:Noisy standard rooms.
Review 92:Everything was clean and comfortable, the pool and the beach were lovely. The staff were very helpful smiling and polite. Beware if you book a standard room, they all face the noisy road on which the hotel stands. We were not told this in any advertising. We upgraded to a sea facing room which was delightful but quite expensive. The food in the restaurant was expensive.Over priced in low season. The beach was lovely and it was great to have massage on the beach for half the price of the hotel spa
Review 93:Staff were slow and seemed put out if you asked for anything. The shuttle to the airport is not free.We were charged 1000 baht for 4 people. Also do not attempt to use the telephone in your room.4000 baht for 2 overseas calls.Ensuites could do with a good scrubbing.Towels were rock hard.General lack of care.We ordered room service and they practically threw the food at us with one napkin between 4 people.
Review 94:Location is good if you want a nice beach.A short distance to Chaweng for shopping eating out etc.Younger people might find it a bit quiet.
Review 95:The sun loungers were too cramped together on the beach. More needed and more umbrellas for shade.
Review 96:Tne breakfast with a proper coffee making machine were excellent. The food and prices were also very good value The staff was wonderful and especially helpful with my sick, elderly parents. Many thanks
Review 97:Rude male serving staff (female staff were OK), extremely slow service, tiny pool (space for only 4 sunbeds - don't let the pictures fool you).
Review 98:Beach
Review 99:- Messed up our reservation and put us in different hotel for first night, tried hard to make up for it, but still shouldn't have happened (rooms had been paid weeks in advance already) - Most staff's English skills are limited to basics (but that's the case almost everywhere in Thailand)
Review 100:- Beach that belongs to hotel is beautiful - Nice pool - Nice stylish rooms - Quiet location without party people, yet only a 5-mins drive to Chaweng 'downtown' if you want more action - Good restaurant(s) - Friendly staff who's trying hard (despite some language issues)
Review 101:However, this part of Samui is not what I would recommend to any person. It´s more or less everything gone wrong in Thailand in one spot.
Review 102:If you ever have the misfortune to end up on Chaweng, Chaweng Noi is a less bad alternative and Impiana gives you good value for your money.
Review 103:The staff were awful, ranging from not bothered to down right obsoxios and unpleasant. They really spoilt our stay.
Review 104:We liked the location and the rooms were of sufficient size.
Review 105:Extra services are extremely expensive. Motorcycle rental was charged400 Bath/day while is average 200 Bath/day elsewhere. Charged1000 Bath for a shuttle service to the ferry port.
Review 106:Room size, in-room facilities, private beach.
Review 107:The room smelled horrible like mildew, the staff were generally rude, and the location was inconvenient. I would never recommend this "resort," especially for the price that you pay.
Review 108:The beach area was nice.
Review 109:The bed was far too hard for our liking. Woke up every morninguncomfortable from the mattress. Even though the room was in a perrfectlocation, it required maintenance for the airconditioner. The resortneeds more maintenance throughout. The bath in our room was not used, looked to be not cleaned properly. There was rotting wooden floorboardsabout the resort. Staff were slow to collect used plates/glasses orbottles left on the verandah. Rooms were not cleaned very thoroughly.
Review 110:Our room was good. The food was lovely.
Review 111:Staff were aloof and unfriendly. Not welcoming at all. We had come from a long flight and it was late for us and the man at the front desk was brusque and I felt scared handing over my passport to him. It was the first time I had travelled overseas for 10 years and I didn't feel at all welcomed. The room was "heavy" dark wood. The bathroom and dressing room area was huge - I was in one of the villas right on the beach - but had no aircon - and sadly, being right next to the beach - no natural ventilation. There was one door to a whole huge room, so you have to have the aircon on while in there. Smelled musty. The shower recess was stained with mould and some of the floors also. A sign of poor cleaning on an ongoing basis. Generally it wasn't clean - marks on the basins and surrounds in the bathroom, on the bedside table - as if it hadn't been cleaned properly after the last guests. The aircon cover - a heavy wooden construction - fell out and slammed on the floor when I was lying on the bed. Fortunately I wasn't under it. It made a terrifying noise and wood shattered from it. It looked like it wasn't the first time it had fallen as I had noticed it was hanging out and scratched. This is a BIG SAFETY issue.
Review 112:Spectacular beach. Breakfast was good and the setting of the restaurant. The big trees.
Review 113:I was not helped to get a taxi when I left the hotel. I had to stand in the sun on the road and try to flag a cab. I also had to carry all my bags out, leaving some in the road whilst I collected the rest.
Review 114:The infinity pool is beautiful. Plenty of places to have cheap massages on the beach. Solid wood sun loungers. Good variety of breakfast.
Review 115:We stayed for 4 days and I it was very pleasant. Hotel located less thenmile away fro Chaweng beach (shops, restaurants, etc), we used taxi toget there, but it will take a 10-15 to walk there. I think we had a mostbeautiful beach in Koh Samui! I will be back there
Review 116:The food was average in flavour and dinner service on the beach was notgood. Good service at breakfast but very predictable food with the samefruit everyday Swimming pool a bit small Maintenance issues with thebathroom Lack of sun loungers which were too close together and peoplewould reserve them very early in the morning and not come down to thebeach until much later.
Review 117:The views from the balcony, The size of the deluxe room The helpfulnessof the staff The spa, treatments and the staff The beautiful beach
Review 118:Booked a "sea-view" room expecting a beach front room. Could just about see the sea if you stood at the window. So just get a normal room and save the money. As you would expect, as it is a resort, the price of drinks and food was expensive.
Review 119:Room was clean, decent sized tv and minibar, nice quiet private stretch of beach. Location was nice and quiet but 15-20 minute ride to both Chaweng and Lamai if you wanted action.
Review 120:Resort has no lift and a to small pool, some staff of the restaurant haslost their thay-laugh. Some roos can be loud because of the ring-road.
Review 121:First night was a room without balcony, the next night we got an updateto a room with balcony, nice resort at the beach
Review 122:It was very quiet. Not rocomended if u treveling alone. Happy hour was not that long. Massage is maybe 200 bat more expensive than outside the resort.
Review 123:Good resort with all that comes with it. Great beach with high standard. Spend all days at the beach. Dinner is arranged on beach in the evening. Recommend to book a room with sea view. Resonable prised to the standard.
Review 124:The hotel has really very big problems with air cons! Very noisy and some nights not working! Ufriendly staff especially at night, bad english.
Review 125:Beach is ok
Review 126:Some of the staff does'nt understand english that good... and also, the hotel is a bit far from the main area, they offer a shottle but take in consider that sometimes you will need a texy!
Review 127:The best hotel we've been to!!! everything was great! good breakfast, beutiful pool and beach! great service! very good value for money!
Review 128:We booked Deluxe Seaview room in this hotel for 1 night on our way back from Koh Pangan, as we had a night flight from Samui. First, they put us in a normal room, after we complained they informed that our Delux room is being cleaned now (it was 15.40), then we learned its a room facing a road, with no seaview and asked hotel manager. Only after that they put us in the booked Deluxe Seaview room. 40-45min waste!! Even that, one of their best rooms had a cockroach on the wall right above the bed.. The building is not quiet, we could hear each and every car passing by on the road. And of course the evening disco at the beach bar.. Never again!
Review 129:Location is relatively far from the town, less noise and trash. Reasonable price if you're lucky to get what you book and don't care about the noise from the road.
Review 130:This hotel is overpriced. The most expensive hotel I stayed in during aholiday in Thailand and it was certainly the least value for money. For150 Aussie dollars a night I do not want to hear the traffic drivingpassed my room, I wouls like a tv that has a picture you can see and Icertainly didnt expect a tiny room. The good points. Food good, hotelwell maintined and staff always did their best to help. Sorry, wont bereturning.
Review 131:Food good, hotel well maintined and staff always did their best to help
Review 132:Too few beach chairs and even more so around the rather small pool. Noor very little service around those chairs forcing you to go to the barto order. Wifi didn't seem to work so well with iOS devices loggingyou out everytime phone/pad were locked or switched off with no autoreconnect. Not very recommendable for bachorlors sharing a room as youwill need taxi to get to where the action is, and you have to share theone key they give you. If you are a couple of family looking for arelaxing place this is however an ideal place on Ko Samui. The airconwas annoyingly loud at times, but where is it not? Lastly our room hadbeen invaded by ants but is was not a big enough issue for us tocomplain about given that the staff probably wouldn't be able to doanything about it anyway.
Review 133:An actual 4 star hotel in Thailand as we would perceive it in the restof the world. Free wifi in the whole hotel. Friendly staff with betterenglish level than what we otherwise experienced in our trip. Good foodselection and preparation thereof.
Review 134:The rooms are a bit small, however it's still ok. Hotel staff is nice, however you just have to make sure that they've understood you.
Review 135:The resort has an ideal location. Just a bit away from the busy Chaweng, yet easy to access the place. Excellent beach- small, but nice, great facilities, nice staff. Ideal location.
Review 136:The location of the resort at Chawaeng Noi beach is terrible. The adjecent properties are dumps! The cleaning of the beach after heavy storms before and during X-mas started too late in the morning ! A lot of stuff which washed ashore made the use of the beach impossible and unpleasant. The staff is needing foreign language training urgently!
Review 137:The wrongly appointed room was changed after 3 nights without too much of a discussion. The staff at receiption performed above our general remark. The Christmas Party was outstanding, so was the food !
Review 138:1. Cleanliness, especially of bathrooms is a concern. Cleaning is regular but not enough attention is paid to the bathrooms2. Bathroom fittings are not working. Repeated complaints went in vain. At the end we had to just ignore and live with the problems
Review 139:1. Excellent location2. Good beach 3. Prices nd quality of food and beverages 4. Sea view rooms have great views
Review 140:Small pool that lost a little attension from the maintenance. Few choice of restaurants.
Review 141:Quiet, free shuttle to chaweng, good wifi. Its little bit far from city but if you looking for quiet relax its perfect. Happy hours!
