Reviews for Baan Hin Sai Resort & Spa
Review 1:The in-room need a serious renovation, old mattress with bed bugs, old TV. Management need to work on massive in room reanivation as everything is outdated. Outside of the rooms is superb. Will surely come back again and hoping for it to be upgraded soon.
Review 2:Environmental , views and locations was the best.
Review 3:As above.
Review 4:The room stank of damp and they showed me one other that smelt even worse ..I would not recommend this place in any context .the staff were lovely but very simple types....
Review 5:1- there is no reception in case for any emergency . As an example we forget to buy water for room and since the nearest shop is about 5 kM from hotel and the time was almost 01 AM morning . We was in a very bad condition so. I will not recomind this hotel for any one.
Review 6:Nothing special
Review 7:Hotel is located at a hill between Chaweng and Lamai, nothing is around there in walking distance unless with car or scooter. Rooms were simple and nice, but bed sheets were gross and there were cracks in windows for bugs to come in. Our villa was was at the bottom of the hill and we were always depended to take golfcart up, not convinient and not good for old people or weak. Spa was overpriced. Breakfast sucked.
Review 8:Just a simple place to sleep at, Rooms are simple and nice, bathrooms are clean, staff were just ok.
Review 9:The breakfast was the worst, same poor spread except one item that changed everyday. Other staff amd their service weren't good. Language was a big barrier. Location is very odd. No where near the decent happening places (chaweng or lamai beach). Was appx. 7 to 9 km away from them. Taxi is hell expensive and tuk tuk was rather a long wait so opted for a rent a car. Then life was good.
Review 10:The spa was great .... great staff in the spa providing very good massage and the spa had great view. The room was big. The shower was really wonderful. Had a working safe in the room. The house keeping staff was very good.
Review 11:unable to call for the buggy service (only on last day)as phones were down and walking up a long steep hill in the heat was hard work!
Review 12:The room was lovely great view
Review 13:No grocery nearby.far from chaweng beach
Review 14:Resort in nature, everything was fine other than the location. Little far from chaweng beach.though there r shuttle service 2 times a day.
Review 15:It's too far from the chaweng beach and the center. The infrastructure is quite old and the staff at the reception is'nt good welcoming
Review 16:Swimming pools
Review 17:With a 5* feel came expensive prices in the restaurant. We only had breakfast there once, but being on a budget we made our way to local restaurants. Best to get a lift as the road seems a little dangerous to walk on. Also laundry prices seemed extortionate so we did them elsewhere.
Review 18:We really enjoyed our stay here. We got a deal of about £20 for one night when we booked in advance. For that price we got an incredible package. It felt like a 5* resort. The rooms were spacious with everything you need, no wifi in rooms but that was fine. Lovely pools and view if you go down to the bottom.
Review 19:Service was bad, breakfast was pathetic with no variety, staff not friendly, there were no glasses in the rooms, no wifi in the rooms
Review 20:The location and the property
Review 21:The hotel is a little bit far away from the main cities. You need to rent moto or a car. But They have a shuttle bus from 2pm to 4.30pm, so it is not very convenient.
Review 22:bit too far from the centre , since our son was staying in the centre , so had to travel from the hotel and back everyday,
Review 23:Had to cancel one day on our reservation, and as hotel policy no show need to pay, the hotel didn't charge us for the day we didn't stay, nice breakfast, for a relaxing place that the way to go
Review 24:The walk up every day to breakfast and to go out is quite intense. We actually read that on another review before we went and still laughed that we're not that old. Oh boy I understand now why people weren't too happy. It's not crazy just a bit steep. So older folks be prepped;-)
Review 25:Pool and view were stunning. Room lovely.
Review 26:Reception staff attitude was poor when asking where places were we were told look it up on your phone or go and check the internet. The reception and communal areas ie restaurant had no air con. The pool good to cool off in but was not a swimming pool not large enough or the right shape to have a swim in The whole place needs a good refurbish it's looks tired and the idea of a good update has been forgotten.
Review 27:The food was hotel food it was ok but no comparison to eating the same dishes in nearby restaurants for less money. The cleaning staff were nice and kept the bungalows clean. Staff in the restaurant were nice and the guys who drove the golf carts were helpful.
Review 28:No beach.Breakfast not included and the restaurant pricy. No wifi in the rooms(Though it's free now in the public areas thanks to the Greek reviewer :) Staff sweeping the paths to the rooms early morning.Nonsense noise.Need to take a share taxi or rent motorbike to reach Chaweng or Lamai.(Don't recommend renting a motorbike for that it's extremely dangerous. They don't know how to ride and drive there)
Review 29:Nice pool area.Lovely garden.Good airco and fridge.Comfy beds.Very clean room, nice balcony.
Review 30:Reception staff at this hotel are not very helpful. It seems they don't like tourists. When asking for information /directions sometimes they leave you standing there and go to the next customer. There are two pools but they are only for dipping in you cannot swim in them. There are tiles on the floor at the top of steps at various locations in the hotel area to warn uphold the steps but they don't warn you if you step on the tiles you can slip and potentially break something. I saw several people fall awkwardly when I was there. No air con in the main reception/ bar area.
Review 31:The staff cleaning the rooms were very nice. Food was fairly good
Review 32:staff very unfriendly(specially Kai), breakfast horrible - only greasy, oily food; whole faciliity needs urgently maintenance (pool - tiles missing, huge spots of scale), AC very loud
Review 33:was good rate for location, was once for sure a nice facility
Review 34:-to far from the bench. Cabs drivers try to completely rip you off. You will have to get out of multiple cabs before you find one that is not trying to rip you off. - breakfast was very bland. Not worth the price at all. - piles of leaves and garbage littered though out the hotel paths.
Review 35:- nice view.
Review 36:Very dirty personel doesn't care at all awful breakfast not 24h reception Old facilities poor and not free wifi in room(3€/hour)
Review 37:It was like living in heaven(nature) amazing location nice pool but dirty
Review 38:staff is not warm, one of the little electric car driver that brings you to the breakfast terrasse used to drive very fast and bold with our little children on board. The pictures shows items that are closed for a long time (wood terrasse up on the sea is part of a restaurant closed since april 2014). We still recomment the place highly.
Review 39:based on a rocky shore, you feel like leaving in a village in the mountains. All the houses and buildings are built around rocks and trees integrated in the nature. Very quiet, harmonious and affordable, we really rested well and appreciated our stay.
Review 40:The resort is a bit worn. No beach access. Need a scooter to get anywhere. No Wifi in the rooms.
Review 41:I loved the serenity of the grounds. Breakfast was great.
Review 42:Noise from other rooms Breakfast menu repetitive for long stays
Review 43:Location Facilities Staff helpful and friendly Rooms good size and great housekeeper Food
Review 44:Breakfasts are not very vary but ok.
Review 45:I liked location of the hotel - it is close to the beach (by tuk-tuk or by moto) and at the same time very cozy place for sleeping in Chaweng (one of the most noisy and entertaining place in Kho Samui). There is a huge territory and visitors must mind that bungalow can be located far enough from reception. The territory of the hotel - nature, plants, type of building are very cute.
Review 46:The staff was properly the least smiling on our 2 month long trip around Asia. We were met by a very negative attitude from almost everyone. Some of the staff was even walking around spitting on the area. I know it's normal in most asia countries, but come on. Furthermore there was blood from mosquitoes on the walls and on the ceiling + a used plaster hang on the wall in the bathroom. The food in the restaurant wasn't that good either. Here the staff once again demonstrated their rudeness by spilling a coke in my computer (properly not on purpose) without even giving me a new one.
Review 47:The view was quiet nice, but all covered by trees.
Review 48:The room was pretty far away from the lobby, restaurant and swimming pool. In the welcome details they indicate that there is one additional pool next to the beach, however it was very shallow and poor maintained.
Review 49:Breakfast is good and staff is friendly, nice comfortable room. Fair value for money.
Review 50:The steep hills to walk out to the reception, but it was no problem to get some morning exercise or just call the reception for pick-up at your room.
Review 51:The place is absolutely beautiful. Lots of trees and two swimming pools. The restaurant food was good, reasonable prizes , as well as the breakfast served every morning. The staff was helpful and friendly. Communication was no problem, most of the staff can speak and understand English. We had a beautiful see view room.
Review 52:Staff not friendly, very lazy, a lot of hills to walk, golfcartdriver who was supposed to drive the guests up the hill always asleep, restaurant always closed, bad location- far away from everything
Review 53:Pools, view
Review 54:Variety of food not available. Nothing near to this resort. Even 7/11.
Review 55:Exactly at right location in front of the sea. Natures gift at your door front. Relax with SPA
Review 56:Being the low season, the extra facilities were not in place i.e. spas, massages etc. We booked a villa with a spa bath overlooking he water. This outdoor spa could have been cleaner.
Review 57:The feng shui was wonderful! Nice setting overlooking the water amongst trees and nature. Very close to Chaweng. Great restaurant just down the road. Staff were helpful.
Review 58:Restaurant was all rite. No Wi-Fi in rooms. Breakfast was repetitive.
Review 59:Swimming pool. Pick n drop from room. Staff. Big rooms. Sea view.

Review 84:great view and good price
Review 85:Nothing
Review 86:Service
Review 87:Too many bugs at outside the room
Review 88:Surrounded Environment
Review 89:The AC is very bad and a lot of noise
Review 90:I was bitten by bed bugs during my stay
Review 91:Old rooms
Review 92:Outdoor pools
Review 93:Attitude of staff. Always unhappy and making you feel you are making trubbles to them.
Review 94:Location
Review 95:Very clean and cozy room. Beautiful garden.
Review 96:The location far from the nightlife
Review 97:The view and the sorounding
Review 98:it is awesome place to relax, calm, beautiful and has much to officer. i'll love to be there when ever possible..
Review 99:I liked on a beach
Review 100:location without beach, closest beach not accesible by walk. Only by taxi or motorbike or car
Review 101:great value for money, great place, great rooms
Review 102:Breakfast.
Review 103:Spa, staff, clean room.
Review 104:The son in réception
Review 105:Extremely hilly & main reception lady comes across quite rude.
Review 106:Views, clean
Review 107:Location was to far away from the beach Steep hills
Review 108:Good staff and property Really nice Pools
Review 109:Thai restaurant at Baan Hin was closed.
Review 110:People and views
Review 111:Lower pool was not clean, had green algae on the walls. Restaurant was closed. Food was not covered at the breakfast buffet.
Review 112:The staff were friendly. Pricing was good value. Meals were nice.
Review 113:Bit far away from any shops or restaurants. Had to taxi to get anywhere outwith the hotel. Staff's English was also pretty poor, however they were friendly.
Review 114:Pools where fantastic and the hotel was beautiful. Very clean and good facilities in the room.
Review 115:our stay was wonderful.. the view over the pool and water was amazing!!! meals, service, staff.. all great, beautiful place to relax and "enjoy the view"
Review 116:Location was ok, quite far up though. It was a slight trek, but ok once rented scooters!!
Review 117:Beautiful hotel & grounds. Gorgeous pools & location of rooms :) Lush breakfast too
Review 118:The only downside would have to be the steep incline path that you have to use to get around, from your room to the lobby/pool etc. You can actually call reception though, and they can send you a buggy if you don't feel like walking it!
Review 119:The view was amazing, and it was only a short 5 minute Tuk Tuk ride into town! Nice and quiet, it was the last stop of our trip and the perfect setting to relax and unwind. The rooms are huge, aircon works amazingly well, and we had absolutely no insects in either our bedroom or bathroom.
Review 120:the breakfast we thought should have been covered as there were flies on the food the bacon and other dishes next to it
Review 121:we liked the staff and the view was great
Review 122:Location just a bit out of the way with no option to walk anywhere.
Review 123:Lovely hotel in beautiful picturesque setting. Comfortable and good value for money. Location wise this is out of the way and the only way to either beach is shuttle bus (which goes to chawang 3 times a day) of taxi. Lamai beach is just as nice so I think a shuttle service should be offered here too. The hotel shod also consider a shuttle at night as realistically most people want to go out for dinner (as resturant in hotel was dead) overall lovely place just location was a bit out of the way and no option walking.
Review 124:Not too friendly at reception with our arrival. Security guard had an rude attitude one night when we parked at a place we parked the previous night without any problem.
Review 125:A beautiful place with enough swimming pools in a quiet area.
Review 126:Only wifi in lobby, too fast golf carts, poor view (trash),
Review 127:Incredible service (helped finding a house for rent + discount for extended stay), no bugs, great breakfast,
Review 128:The bathroom is spacious, the wardrobe in the wall between room and bathroom is rather funny, unusual and useful. =)) The scenery of the hotel is quite spectacular. If you're lazy enough a nice minigolf car will take you from your room to the reception. It takes about 15 minutes to get to Chaweng by songthaew. In the reception area you can use wi-fi for free if you use your own device.
Review 129:They don't have direct access to the beach (it's between Chaweng and Lamai). You can find nice price for the room but any other service (spa, restaurant, motorbike rent) is more expensive compare to the room.
Review 130:Amazing resort. Great sea view from the second terrace pool. Quiet and silence (if you like).
Review 131:Very steep to walk around, restaurant not cheap, free shuttle should beextended until nightime, wifi in the lobby only, guy who drives the golfcart around the hotel was a little "fast and furious"
Review 132:Pools, ocean view, breakfast, chalet with nice bed and bathroom, freeshuttle to Chaweng
Review 133:hotel provided us a bungalow without sea view, also that feature was specifically listed in our booking. They provided an option of money back or taking the room without sea view for the same price. I am deeply unsatisfied with this situation, as it was the main feature which led to me selecting that particular offer.
Review 134:The hotel consist of a bunch of wood houses! It's opened in environment, like a garden ,cost effective and very quite at night ! Strongly recommend !!
Review 135:We have ordered a room and bath tub but what disaapointed is the staff said no more room with bath tub and just let us know until we discovered it. That's bad....
Review 136:The Environment is great
Review 137:Really far from everything (with really expensive taxis on the island, everytime a min of 200bath). A receptionist not speaking proper English and a laundry service costing 40bath/piece (everywhere else it is 40bath/kg)
Review 138:The hôtel in itself was good. Clean, 2 swimming pools, calm, golf car travel if needed, nice breakfast,...
