Reviews for Hotel Martinique
Review 1:Be prepared to pay for their choice of wine if you do not mak your own.
Review 2:We'll run, pleasant surroundings, family owned and run hotel. Much like USA bed and breakfasts with great decor and concern for guests. Owner was very helpful in transporting us to appointments and locations. Breakfast was excellent and diverse but pricey.
Review 3:The beds could have been more comfortable. They squeaked.
Review 4:Great location, a 5 min walk from the tram station in Nieuwpoort. Having 2 bathrooms for our family of 4 was a bonus.
Review 5:Our hosts were charming and extremely accommodating of all our needs. The hotel is one of the most welcoming we've ever stayed in. The décor is lovely, and the breakfast has something for everyone. The wifi was very intermittent but that could be seen as an advantage in enforcing some time away from the rest of the world! Looking forward to a return visit next year.
Review 6:Leaving after only three days
Review 7:The room was superb, the grounds lovely, the location quiet but not far from all the needs, ie restaurants, tram and bus. Free parking.
Review 8:Good location, short walk to shops, restaurants and the tram stop. Peaceful location with large car park. Breakfast with plenty of choice and overlooking their well kept garden. Would definitely go back.
Review 9:1. We stayed in the family room and while the room was very interestingly decorated, a lot of the furniture itself was chipboard and flimsy, e.g. drawer fronts popping out at the joints when pulled. 2. The kettle had stale water in it and on tipping it out it was evident it had been there a long time. The whole kettle and tea tray was dusty and the spoons were plastic but not disposable. It all just felt a little bit slipshod. 3. The area is extremely expensive for eating out so it may be something to consider when picking this location if you are on a budget.
Review 10:1. The decor was very interesting and arty - made a welcome change from typical dull hotel decor. 2. The location is perfect to explore the coastline or to just enjoy the local area. 3. The breakfast spread was great.
Review 11:The rain on the last day.
Review 12:Everything was as it said in the on-line profile. A very short distance to town and a great area to walk and take in the scenery. We would visit again and recommend to anyone. Not sure there is much to keep children occupied.
Review 13:We pretty much liked everything- maybe would have been nice if breakfast was served a little later, we weren't always finished on time, but that is the only improvement I can think of!
Review 14:A charming family-run guesthouse. Beautiful gardens, nicely decorated house, very comfortable and clean. The landlady was friendly and helpful, plenty of advice and knowledge about the local area, and our special dietary requirements were catered to admirably. Room was large and well furnished, and we would happily stay there again.
Review 15:The rooms are lovely, luxurious and stylish. There is also the complementary coffee and tea in the hall, water and mints in the room and a wonderful bed.
Review 16:coffe making facilities not in room
Review 17:beautiful settings
Review 18:Very comfortable and welcoming hotel. The breadfast was extensive and very well presented.
Review 19:Nothing that we could complain about!!!

Review 22:Everything, great location and comfort, great breakfast, and only 5 mins walk into town
Review 23:No bad experience
Review 24:Beautiful room. Friendly owners. Lovely location. We had a really lovely stay.
Review 25:Room a little dark with just a roof window. Coffee/tea making facilities in corridor not in room.

Review 30:Good location, friendly staff
Review 31:Nothing
Review 32:Great location Great rooms Great welcome form the owners Great breakfast
Review 33:Just one very small niggle – there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. There was a guest coffee machine on the landing, but it was not working.
Review 34:We stayed at the Hotel Martinique for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is a smashing little hotel with just 7 guest rooms - small and very friendly. The hotel is tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Our room was light and airy with a large comfortable bed and a jacuzzi bath, which was a real treat to relax in after a day’s sightseeing. The gardens surrounding the hotel are delightful. There are plenty of places to sit and relax, have an open-air drink or snack and enjoy a cigarette. Although next to a main road, the hedges cut out the traffic noise and one would think it was in the middle of the countryside. There is ample off-road guest parking. The owners were very friendly and helpful – nothing was too much trouble. They both speak excellent English (plus many other languages). The breakfasts were superb with plenty of choice – cold meats, cheeses, eggs, fresh bread, jams, pastries, etc. The hotel is conveniently situated just 10 minutes’ walk from the Quay in the old part of Nieuwpoort with its great selection of bars and restaurants. The market square is a further 10 minutes away. We would not hesitate to stay here again.
Review 35:There was nothing not to like my only comment would be that it would be nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room as I like a cuppa when I first get up
Review 36:Wonderful stay with lovely hosts, everything very clean and welcoming, comfy bed, beautiful shower room
Review 37:There is nothing negative to report
Review 38:The hotel is perfectly located - beautiful villa, spatious rooms - owners are very kind and helpful - the restaurant is a real treat, just great - also child-friendly (accompanied by our 3-year old granddaughter) - beautiful garden - relaxing
Review 39:Friendly private hotel with free parking. Unique decor and everywhere was spotless. Excellent location for the beach, coastal tram and exploring inland.
Review 40:- Very friendly owners- Very good breakfast - Nice room (we took the option with jacuzzi) - Very nice garden, you can take a rest there, if you are tired of the nice beach walks - Parking for your car - Nearby the city and a nice walk (along the yacht harbor) to the beach
Review 41:Wonderful decor and delightful owner/hosts
Review 42:HAVING TO LEAVE
Review 43:YOU COULD NOT ASK FOR BETTER
Review 44:Signal strength of Wi-Fi could be improved.
Review 45:Very friendly owners. Nice room. Car parking. Bathroom.
Review 46:Charming, nicely decorated hotel with a welcoming and helpful hostess. Definitely a place to return to.
Review 47:Good location within walking distance of the quay. Room at the rear of the hotel was quiet. Excellent breakfast!
