Reviews for Samui Orchid The Ocean Resort

Review 1:Some of the facilities looked a little run down, and the animal enclosures need to be brought into the 21st century.

Review 2:The pools were great and the meals at the restaurant were delicious.

Review 3:Hotel need to be renewed, as many points in hotel seems to be old. WiFi not works in some rooms.

Review 4:Good location for Kite surfing. Have very good public pools and great bungalows with private pools. Large rooms and hotel territory, good aquarium and small zoo by the hotel.

Review 5:The accommodation was relatively basic, though it has everything you need and we really enjoyed our stay here.

Review 6:The balcony overlooking the pool and the sea and beach beyond was great! The staff were fantastic and most spoke a fair amount of English, which helped with our poor knowledge of Thai language! The pools were great and the snooker table, aquarium etc. meant there was plenty to do. We enjoyed some kitesurfing lessons on the beach outside the resort, a fun sport!

Review 7:Breakfast terrible. Car and motorbike rent from hotel way overpriced. Prices in bar not included taxes, etc. So when they bring a bill we was surprised. Prices in the bar overpriced. Poor food.

Review 8:Location quite. Only we and other couple was in hotel. No people at all.

Review 9:It's very close to the tiger zoo. You might like sedated animal tourism but I'm not so keen.

Review 10:Great facilities, welcoming and friendly staff 2 minutes from the beach and a shuttle service provided to lamai. I would highly recommend staying at this resort.

Review 11:The location and hospitality of the resort was great....you can enjoy your time at the beach or in the pool....clean, romantic, friendly staff and scenic beauty and with a great affordable price....

Review 12:It is a long way from any town.on our second night, the people next to us were very loud until about 4a.m.

Review 13:The room was very comfortable.the setting is beautiful

Review 14:infrastructure and rooms quite old, way too remote if not riding a motorbike, few guests

Review 15:upgraded to bungalows, quiet, value for money, the location can be good if hiring a motorbike - many temples around, manageable distance from Chaweng and Lamai

Review 16:Nothing.. we loved this place and will be back Just a note you do need a scooter to get around in Samui however the resort offers free shuttle into Lamai

Review 17:Pools are amazing, staff friendly, room cleaned every day, fresh towels, good showers, breakfast ok, animals to visit daily, comfortable beds

Review 18:the equipement seems a little old and needs to refresh but it's ok for us.

Review 19:the animals we can see around makes this hotel original we could take photos with baby tiger and say hello to the monkeys, birds and all the spicies

Review 20:It's sad to see the animals enclosed in small cages but at least they we kept clean.

Review 21:Liked that we had the entire resort to ourselves ! The pools were awesome as was the location for breakfast !

Review 22:location

Review 23:Food was poor

Review 24:Staff, pool and view :)

Review 25:The buildings need refurbishing.

Review 26:It is right by the tiger zoo. Nice and clean, and the staff is friendly.

Review 27:the breakfast needs to have a bit more variety

Review 28:The three swimming pools were great.

Review 29:Breakfast

Review 30:Situated next to the aquarium and tiger zoo great entertainment empty beaches

Review 31:Wifi in room slow, swimming not possible at the beach

Review 32:Good location, swimming pool, zoo. Kind staff, cleaning im room ok.

Review 33:Not well maintained. Needs urgent renovation. Swimming pool dirty. Booked superior room but this was very basic (I wonder what standard room looks like?). Description on their website is not correct. Very far from Lamai beach. Restaurant hotel closes around 6pm. Every hour free shuttle bus to Lamai but last one back is at 10pm. Taxi from Lamai to hotel is 400 bath. When wifi works it's very good but most of the time it was out.

Review 34:Staff is friendly and helpfull. Hotel guests get 50% discount on zoo entrance.

Review 35:Cleanliness of the villa and the private swimming pool could be better; needs to be improved.

Review 36:Beaches were nice and next to the resort, within walking distance.Free shuttle bus service to Lamai Beach / town.

Review 37:Staff at restaurant were a bit slack. Not open at night which was inconvienent Resort rather tired and needed some maintenance done around the property.

Review 38:Room clean adequate, enjoyed our private pool. We went to the Samui Beach Village Restaurant next door which was excellant.

Review 39:The bike rental at this hotel is 350bath, which is expensive, and the beach are not the best beach. Its windy, and only suitable for wind sailing. Not suitable for swim. But no worries, they got a large swimpool.

Review 40:The pool.the breakfast by the beach. The scenery. Free transfer to lamai town. And the driver is so nice, he help us get songtheau to go to nanthon pier. Very good services.

Review 41:resort is very run down, needs a lot of repairs done, to bring it up to scratch, ie thatching on roofs is almost non existent and broken tiles and concrete around the resort, food not very good but we only ate there once

Review 42:lovely location and although a bit far away from everything else ie Lamai it is a lovely spot on Samui

Review 43:animals kept in small cages, tiger seemed drugged and miserable in my opinion. Some Staff in restaurant offered poor service and spent most of time engrossed in laptops

Review 44:location was good, pool facilities excellent, rooms excellent value for money staff pleasant to deal with

Review 45:Sorry to sound language ignorant but I struggled to communicate with the reception staff. The rooms and grounds are shabby.

Review 46:I had problems with a motorbike I had rented from the hotel. One of the hotel partners offered to sort it out for me and did not let me pay. This was exceptional service in helping me resolve this issue. The hotel restaurant is on the beach and extremely quick in service. The aquarium and tiger zoo is right on the doorstep. The beach is beautiful and hardly anyone on it. There is kite surfing school right next to the hotel. The rooms are large.

Review 47:That the beach restaurant closed quite early. Although shuttle buseswere available to get to Lamai beach or closer restaurants.

Review 48:The beach and pool was nice, not very busy. Great for relaxing days andnice seafront massages.

Review 49:All of the garbage on the beach. Broken glass and trash was disgusting.Brutal service at hotel restaurant. Staff was rude and didnt acknoledgeus twice when we came in to eat so we left after waiting 15 minutes bothtime and restaurant was not busy. Three staff looked at us, but nevereven came over with menus or anything. Horrible service.

Review 50:Quiet, great pools, close to beach.

Review 51:no coffee making facilities in the room

Review 52:the friendly staff

Review 53:The shuttle times...poor slots.

Review 54:The beach for kite surfing
