Reviews for Citysleep
Review 1:There are guidelines about being quiet at night, but not in the morning. Several loud conversations in the hallway kept me awake starting around 6:00 a.m. It's expensive relative to what you get; the next night, I stayed in a major hotel with large rooms, big windows and a huge breakfast buffet for only $20 more than I paid for a windowless closet to sleep in at CitySleep.
Review 2:Facilities were clean, and having kitchen access was a bonus.
Review 3:There was no staff to service and only a telephone number in case that something went bad.
Review 4:The place was really close to the city centre and the bus station
Review 5:Within a few days of my booking City Sleep they debited my account for the cost - 6 months before I would be there. Although I selected the 'cancellation free' option on your site, when I needed it I found City Sleep's offer expired 7 days before the booking not the 24 hour condition I understood I'd booked under (and the money had been taken from my account 6 months before anyway). It is a converted cinema. There is no lift but three levels of accommodation. There are no windows in the cell like rooms. No staff in attendance from evening to morning. The light in my corridor needed attention. We couldn't get the cooktop in the kitchen to work. After visiting the toilet during the night the code to re-enter my room didn't work so I spent half the night sleeping outside my room on thin cushions I'd gathered from the austere sitting area with a doona a fellow resident found for me.
Review 6:Nothing. It was cold and austere; a desperate backpackers place only.
Review 7:One night a group of people were talking and laughing loudly in the common area until 23:00.
Review 8:It was a good value for the money. My room felt very safe, it clean and gave me a respite from a group I was traveling with.
Review 9:The rooms are very very small with no windows and were quite stuffy. I would not recommend this property if you plan on doing staying a while in Lulea. There is no one on reception during the night. My friend had problems with her door code and had to sleep in corridor luckily someone could offer her some bedding. This property us definitely a backpacker property and should be listed as such.
Review 10:Location is good.
Review 11:I have only heard about places without windows. Definetely did not expect to find such in Sweden. Should be cheaper (as bedsheets are not privided either). Room was tiny and cold.
Review 12:Central location. Kitchen with all facilities.
Review 13:Booking makes it sound like a hotel. It's not. It's a self-catering hostel. No bed linen, no towels and no warning of this at any stage during the booking. No staff on reception or anywhere to be seen. Entry code didn't work. You have to call a local phone number to get any help. Rooms located in a basement with no natural light.
Review 14:Clean and central location.
Review 15:Rooms are noisy, it looks like a prison, no bed sheets provided, bad price to quality ratio, location on the map is incorrect, no staff present.
Review 16:Good location, wifi, one of the cheapest in town
Review 17:There are no staff on duty 9 at 6pm), the access code given does not work. There are no bedsheet available, the room is super small. Too many stairs and doors.
Review 18:Location in the center, maybe ok for a one night stay before catching the flight.
Review 19:She stuff was very nice as well but the hours of them are not good and if you have any trouble you call someone in stockholm who can not help you with everything. The discribtion for getting your bed stuff and the instruction for cleaning are little
Review 20:Everything was very clean and straight forward. The locking sysytem for the rooms is nice to handle. Very fast internet and the location is really good even if the first glance appears different, it is close to the centrum as well as the park.
Review 21:The pincode to open the door, which has been send by mail, didn't function. So we have to make a phone call. The rooms where to hot to sleep in and they look like a prison. Further you may not drink alcohol in public area of the hostel.
Review 22:Location is okay, it's close to the railway station. About 10 min. By feet.
Review 23:On the Booking.com website, it didn't state that the room had to be cleaned in order not to incur more costs. It also didn't state the bed sheets had to be hired.
Review 24:They didn't charge me for cleaning.
Review 25:Not clean, extremely noisy during all day. Woke up at least 3-4 times during night. Internet, very slow, not even possible to connect at busy hours. You have to pick up linen and make your bed yourself.
Review 26:Location, price
Review 27:I know it's an unpopular destination hence why it's so expensive. But for a hostel, it should be cheaper. Such an amazing place and lovely place to be in but should be a fair bit cheaper. If it was then I'd have stayed for two weeks most likely.
Review 28:Everything about it was so perfect, I left the place in tears because everything and Luleå, the people aswell it was so emotional. I came to Luleå to meet all the people I knew online, I wasn't disappointed. I will be coming back in December. But unfortunately as I checked earlier it's completely booked so I don't know what I should do. I really wanted to come back to Citysleep in December but we'll see.
Review 29:lack of good aeration, especially kitchen area
Review 30:Cheap and central place, free space inside.
Review 31:No staff on duty need to understand the system.
Review 32:Good clean hostel style accommodation.
Review 33:No staf no breakfast this is a hostel
Review 34:The lokation in town
Review 35:not cheap , poor air conditioning
Review 36:No windows!
Review 37:All your service great and keep on!
Review 38:Remember to take bedlinen and a towel with you when staying there.
Review 39:bad ventilation in rooms
Review 40:Cheap, excellent location, easy since no check-in needed
Review 41:I didn't see any windows.
Review 42:So clean you had no problem walking without shoes in common areas. Central location. Soundproofed rooms. I had a good night's sleep.
Review 43:Address is not correct. Don't arrive at night or you'll be lost. Only good Swedish helpfulness found City Sleep main entrance around the corner! Booking.com should post a photo of entrance so you know what to look for.
Review 44:Location excellent, clean and friendly
Review 45:The code provided was not working, which really trouble as no staffs on site. We are foreign travellers and not able to call out. Luckily we met few helpful swedish girls to help out. Personally think it will be helpful for foreign traveller if phone is available to call out to service center. In fact,We have to wait in front of the main door in chilled condition until someone access to entrance.
Review 46:No TV in rooms but one in lounge, nit-picking really!
Review 47:Great value for money, warm and cosy, good cooking facilities. Friendly staff when they're around!
Review 48:The room was very warm even though the radioator was off. should be possible to rent bed-sheets separately. I forgot mine, but also assumed I can still rent some when I got there. but wasn't possible, so had to phone and ask.
Review 49:very central, easy to check-in
Review 50:No staff at reception but we did well aware on this, h/ever, we saw a security guard wander inside & make us feel safe. We get the code # for the entrance door & the room no via email in advance. The hotel is 15-20 mins walk from the Lulea train station but still in the downtown.
Review 51:The room was very small. Doors were very noise when you opened them. We missed reception. There is no window in room and room is very small for 3 people.
Review 52:Bathroom is very good. Bed is comfortable and location of the hostel is perfect. Opening the door with PIN code is very comfortable.
Review 53:There wasn't any staff present when we arrived so if we had needed towels or bed sheets there wasn't anyone there to hire them from or tell us where things were. We had to explore on our own. Very bright lights from the corridors seeped under the door slightly so not as pitch black at night as I'd prefer!
Review 54:It was very clean and had everything you needed for a good night's sleep. Showers were very clean and the building was very quiet.
Review 55:No reception(too bad), the password given on email was invalid, difficult to contact (only with phone number).
Review 56:Convenient to book, clean and comfortable, cheap, easy to access.
Review 57:The only bad thing was the lack of air in the room. It was not possible to turn on the ventilation...
Review 58:This hostel was very clean and during the sumer nights you can actually sleep because the rooms don't have windows. Believe me, during summer that is really a good thing.
Review 59:Where is the staff????? I'm doing a big travel around Europe , I don't have Internet everywhere . I recived the email but I couldn't read before arrive to the hostel. I haven't the code of the door. Anybody there... Thanks a family could stay in and to take Internet, open my email and read that. Was a bit horrible
Review 60:Everything is automatic, very clean and comfortable . Full kitchen, that area was very good. A Big tv and the room was good
Review 61:The reception was only open for 30 minutes per day, from 8-8.15am and2-2.15pm. This wasn't advertised anywhere when I booked the hotel,so I thought it would be fine to arrive on a bus and check in around3.45pm. I got into my room ok as reception is not needed to checkin (apin is provided), but I had no way to rent sheets as was advertised thatI could do. I ended up having to sleep on the bed in my ski clothes witha jacket over the pillow. Not exactly ideal. To top it off, the next morning the receptionist told me that CitySleep had not received a payment from me, despite them having direct debited my credit card as soon as I booked. She insisted on taking another payment before I could leave and, when I came back later with my bank statement to prove they had charged me, told me I would have to call management on the number on the brochure to get it sorted out. As for the hostel itself, it was generally clean and provided everything I needed for a quick one-night stop. However, many of the rooms open up onto the common room and the walls aren't terribly thick. As a result, the movies being watched in the common room were still very audible in my room at 1am. The kitchen was a mess in the morning, with unwashed dishes everywhere.
Review 62:It was cheap for Sweden. The location was very good, right on thewaterfront and around the corner from the bus station.
Review 63:- The doors work with a code but the mine once blocked at 21h with all my baggage inside and it was impossible to open it until next morning at 9h
Review 64:- Really weel connected in the center
Review 65:only 15min for payment an the reception, other time there is nobody! you have to call to get the entrance code, your room number and the code for the room entrance. Of couse you have to pay for these calls! And there is no window in the room, just like a prison!
Review 66:kitchen for yourself
Review 67:No AC, like sleeping in a sauna! No window, very hot!
Review 68:Good bed:-)
Review 69:Room very small, only 1 seat available in common room area on couch, rest had bench bolted down. No labelled recycling in Kitchen
Review 70:Washing facilities
Review 71:An accomodation without staff, without wondows, without sheets on the bed, no towel, lousy blanket. It felt like being in a prison
Review 72:No windows in the rooms Never met any staff at all
Review 73:clean, open all hours with keypad entry. Good budget accommodation
Review 74:No staff (make sure you get your codes before arriving)
Review 75:Great location (though not much happens in Lulea), kitchen
Review 76:The staff is no enough to attend all guest
Review 77:The funcionallity of the Hotel
Review 78:Stuff was absent on the reception often
Review 79:Very goog location near the mainstreet and the cathedral
Review 80:the interior is very cold, and the rooms are way too small for the price and don't have windows!
Review 81:the kitchen was well equipped
Review 82:Ease of use.
