Reviews for University Inn and Suites Eugene
Review 1:That old motel 'smell', very low water pressure, and home to at least one drug dealer during my stay. Despite being across the street from the college, I didn't feel completely safe.
Review 2:good water temperature and didn't get bothered by housekeeping.
Review 3:Breakfast was a little lack luster. The area to eat in is very small. Breakfast was essentially cereal and bagels.
Review 4:The staff were pleasant to talk with and were very accommodating with my service dog. We were placed in the handicap room, which we didn't ask for specifically, but it was nice to have the extra room with my service dog in tow. The heater was a little finicky (maybe user error) and our room went from freezing to desert hot. The room was clean and the bed was pretty comfortable. Especially for what we paid during the winter season, we were very pleased with our stay.
Review 5:There really wasn't anything that I didn't like. The fan in the bathroom kind of rattled, but I wasn't sleeping in there so a little rattle for a short amount of time was not a problem.
Review 6:My trip was during the Christmas holiday so most college kids, i am guessing, were away from school and so it seemed very quiet. The room was very clean and the staff was most helpful in every way. I felt safe and I was comfortable. The price was just right.
Review 7:It was a little less clean than it could have been. Hair stuck to the wall, dingy carpet, not that I would have swam this time of year, but they boast a heated pool which was neither heated nor clean. The breakfast was not great except they have a waffle maker, but only one so you have to wait in line to get one, some make two so it took me 20 mins to just get mine going.
Review 8:I've stayed in really bad places for the same price, so it's hard to give this place a bad review because in comparison it's not bad at all. It was pretty clean and comfortable. The location is the shining positive of this motel.
Review 9:Not clean enough, the carpet ceiling was wet. Someone's spoiled food in the fridge. Very loud heater
Review 10:Location, price and the personal was ok. Free Breakfast with eggs, croissants.
Review 11:A bit shabby and parking was very tight. When we came back at night there was no parking place for us even though we were paying customers.
Review 12:Location and price for the night
Review 13:This place was a dump. I needed to stay in Eugene one more day andthis place was the only one in town with an available room. 2 Stories. No elevator. No bellman, door man or anyone else to help haul suitcasesupstairs. The stairs are very rickety. They have been kind of jimmiedwith some sort of metal tin material nailed down over the old stairs.I would not take my shoes off. The floor was all stained. I would notsit down on the toilet. I laid towels down on the floor to walk on. Itook all but the bottom sheet off the bed and put towels down before Ieven sat down. I covered the chair I put my phone on to charge. Islept with the lights on and fully dressed. I didn't feel safe orclean. I didn't even look in the shower- there was no way I wasgoing in there.
Review 14:It was right down the street from 'Hirons' and really greatgrocery store- I can't remember what it's called, I thinkit's'Market of Choice'. It's along the lines of'Whole Foods'.
Review 15:It was not possible to regulate the temperature of the shower stream, making it impossible for my son and I to take a shower.
Review 16:Staff were very helpful, accommodations considering the rate were good in some respects. However, it was not possible to regulate the temperature of the shower water, meaning a shower was impossible.
Review 17:Bathroom was a tad dated. Shower head was not built for anyone taller than 5'7", I had to crouch.
Review 18:For being a motel it offered everything a hotel does. Great location beside the university. Room was large and comfy.
Review 19:Poor breakfast. A lot of high sugar products, all disposable packaging and utensils.
Review 20:Spacious comfortable room, car park available, linen changed every day, good facilities.
Review 21:I loved this inn! It felt very well cared for. It had a really good vibe, not the usual "haven for lost souls" feel that these kinds of motels often have. Perhaps because it was right across from the University. It was clean and felt friendly and safe. And the price was excellent! Great value with very little compromise.
Review 22:The staff were great. I'd explained that we hadn't slept all night (not even 5 minutes) and they let us in a few hours early which we greatly appreciated.
Review 23:Location was great. Room great, clean, comfortable and no smells. Air conditioner kept the room cool since I stayed on a day that had reached 95 degrees. The shower, however was a different story, the water was at a trickle literally. However I told the front desk and they said they would fix it right away.
Review 24:Spider on the ceiling but no big deal.
Review 25:Very nice location with nice people working there. Rooms kept nice. Good value for the nice accommodation. Would definitely come back again.
Review 26:Somewhat minimal breakfast, but I have also encountered far worse by more expensive establishments. The breakfast is certainly enough to get you on the road to your next destination.
Review 27:Across the street from UofO and adjacent to the river trails was perfect for my needs!
Review 28:We had 2 rooms booked and canceled one with plenty of time to spare but we're still charged. Contacted the hotel and they said they never received the cancelation from booking.com so they charged us one night.. The hotel staff checked into it and is reimbursing the night.
Review 29:Great hotel for the price! Close to Autzen footbridge which is where we needed to go.
Review 30:There is traffic noise, but to be expected by the main road! Not a problem for us.
Review 31:Convenient location and good value for money. The room / bathroom were very clean and there was a good breakfast selection. Didn't use the pool but looked clean, did sit by it for a while in the sun.
Review 32:Although all of the plumbing worked, everything needed attention. - The toilet was running when we entered the room. To flush the toilet, the handle had to be held down for the entire cycle. - The sink's entire faucet was loose and felt like it would completely detach at the next use. - The showerhead had more water flowing down, out of it, than spraying out of it, regardless of the setting used.
Review 33:Although the wifi wasn't working when we checked in, a visit to the very pleasant girl at the front desk resulted in it being taken care of, immediately. (Router needed to be rebooted.)
Review 34:Breakfast was plain. bathroom was not very clean. overprice on weekends.
Review 35:On businese trip here in Eugene, 4 minutes walk away from the University of Oregon campus, accessable transportation to downtown, various restaurants nearby, the market choice supermarket was acorss the street.
Review 36:Airco was turned off. It was extremely hot that week which resulted in a overheated room. It took the whole night to cool the room down a bit.
Review 37:Breakfast was fine, we've had worse. WiFi worked and was free. Location was perfect for our goal.
Review 38:Old carpets seep very dirty as was bed coverings. Never use them anyway, but still ...
Review 39:Price is good and accommodations are ok. Bathrooms seemed clean.
Review 40:Continental breakfast minimal, but typical for similar facilities.
Review 41:Great price for 2 night stay. Comfortable couch. Everything worked, TV, microwave, fridge, etc.
Review 42:Small bathroom. No real place to plug in things. Fan way too noisy. Taps barely worked in shower. Whole place needs a remodel.
Review 43:Good location. Friendly staff.
Review 44:The common areas and stairwells were dirty. The fan in our bathroom did not work properly and was very loud when you turned it on. I returned home to find an e-mail saying I was a no-show.
Review 45:The front desk staff were friendly. The location across from the University was ideal.
Review 46:the room was sub-par. the carpet was sticky, ants in the bathroom, bathroom light flickered, If there were rooms at a different motel open for that night would have left.
Review 47:staff was friendly and helpful
Review 48:There wasn't much personality in the outdoor areas. The pool seemed it was dropped into the parking lot. If you didn't get there in the late afternoon, parking was an issue.
Review 49:Convenient location. It was within walking distance to restaurants and grocery store.
Review 50:The parking was really challenging -- small spaces and oddly placed.
Review 51:We didn't know the room would have a sofa and a kitchenette - big surprise, but exactly what we needed. The staff were terrific, the room was very clean, the grounds nicely decorated, and the pool was crystal clear.
Review 52:The only things available for breakfast for this gluten-free eater was fruit and yogurt. There were waffles, several kinds of bread, and cereal otherwise.
Review 53:The location to UO was ideal.
Review 54:That I couldn't stay longer.
Review 55:The staff was very helpful and informative. The rooms were clean andsufficient. The breakfast was great, I actually had a waffle and somehard-boiled eggs. The staff gave me directions to the river and I wasable to soak my feet and enjoy the scenery.
Review 56:The pool hours - I think it would be better, during the hot days of summer, to allow quiet time at the pool until midnight. No alcohol.
Review 57:Friendly, helpful, 24/7 check-in with no hassle, and we left a couple of things when we left - they were available to us the next day! (Not stolen or kept by staff)
Review 58:Coffee was pretty gnarly, but lots of Starbucks close by.
Review 59:Didn't have high expectations considering the price, but was pleasantly surprised. Easy location, warm welcome, super clean rooms, free breakfast.
Review 60:You will be disappointed if you expected decent breakfast. Not that we cared much for the price we paid.
Review 61:location not too far from U of O. Good enough for a short stay. Clean n comfy. Value for money.
Review 62:For an average motel, a bit pricey. Not easy to find without a GPS. Limited food places nearby.
Review 63:Parking out side the door for motorcycles. Clean and comfortable bed. Free WiFi.
Review 64:The hotel is old and worn, dated decor. There is no elevator so be prepared to lug your luggage up the stairs.
Review 65:It's right across the street from Matt Court, so we stayed here when we went to see the Eagles and it was great to be able to walk to the concert. It was a very big room with a couch.
Review 66:Our stay was very enjoyable! The staff was polite and helpful! The room was very clean and the bed was new and comfortable. The location was perfect, we were able to walk to the graduation.
Review 67:Bathroom was tiny and shower head was extreamly low. Needs some updates and repair work in room.
Review 68:Great location near Hayward Field and resturants and grocery.Cleaning staff were pleasant.
Review 69:Closet had no door, bathroom had no caddy in the shower. Bathroom way too small. Sofabed jammed in a very small location by the front door. Not enough light bulbs in lamps.
Review 70:Location to Hayward Field and nearby restaurant, pharmacy and supermarket was perfect.
Review 71:Overall, the room was overpriced, and basics like soap and shampoo were unbelievably crummy for a hotel charging over $180 / night. The breakfast was terrible. I am aware I was in Eugene during a peak demand period, but this is price gouging.
Review 72:The location (close to the university)
Review 73:The only complaint I have is the air-conditioning. It was an old fashioned unit with out a temperature gauge so we had no idea of where to set it. When we arrived it was very hot and it was turned off so we set it a bit high to cool the room down. It was too high for the night however and I ended up being cold in the middle of the night when it finally came to temperature
Review 74:We stayed at this hotel because we were touring the Univ of Oregon. The university was right across the street so we did not need to drive to campus which was very convenient. We were allowed to leave our car in the parking lot after check out which also made it convenient for us. This is a pretty basic hotel so if you are just looking for a room to stay a night maybe two while visiting the University I would definitely recommend it but not for a longer stay or if you really want something super posh. But for the money I thought it was worth it.
Review 75:The rooms are small and somewhat dated. As always, you get what you pay for.
Review 76:Room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. Perfect location if you will be visiting Hayward Field.
Review 77:Beautiful 20 minute walk to the stadium through the woods crossing the river. Took all the stress off finding parking as the Inn allowed us to leave the car there. Rooms were nothing special but definnitely adequate and clean.
Review 78:Steps to the room are loose. Needed heavier, warmer blankets.
Review 79:Could not believe it...had driven eight hours from San Francisco, getinto Eugene and realized I was on empty. Coasted in right off thefreeway and was greeted at 11 pm by a nice guy who advised me theuniversity was giving tours the next day and not to worry the gasstation was two buildings away. I was exhausted and appreciated thehospitality!!
Review 80:The fan or AC is really loud. The hotel is sorta noisy, and very poor selection of breakfast.
Review 81:The hotel is right acorss from the university, also many restaurants are in walking distance.
Review 82:Nice staff and the free cereal in the morning was convenient for the occasion, but honestly the hardest bed I have ever slept on. I even tried to move to the little couch in the room and then on the floor. The bed was softer than the thinly carpeted floor, but just barely.
Review 83:The room was old and felt dirty. I came back from my conference to find ants everywhere. The little black sugar ants. They were coming out from the corners of the room and bathroom; even on the bed. Disgusting.
Review 84:The size of the room was good, and the WiFi signal was not bad.
Review 85:The bathroom was tiny, dirty and ice cold. Nothing seemed to work to warm it up at all. It was very hard to put on makeup with only about a 20-watt bulb by the mirror. The door had no safety lock.
Review 86:The office staff were nice.
Review 87:Wifi wast great breakfast wasn't either.
Review 88:Size of room was great, location was great, it was also quiet. And the evening guy at the front desk was very nice and helpful.
Review 89:The rooms are not extremely well insulated. We could hear the people above us every time they moved and whenever a car started outside.
Review 90:We showed up rather late, but the night manager waited up, was extremely helpful and even let us park in an employee spot so that he could keep an eye on the bikes tied up to the back of our car.
Review 91:They booked us in the wrong room type. Housekeeping woke us up at 9AM by knocking on our door to confirm with us that we were checking out.
Review 92:They did not charge us the $10 fee for using the couch bed, because they put us in a room with one bed when we had booked a room with two.
Review 93:As might be expected in a lower-end motel, and though everything was clean, the room we had looked a little "worn" and slightly-shabby. Perfectly okay with me, but if you insist on top-notch maintenance, go somewhere else (and pay more for it, too).
Review 94:The location directly across from the UO sports arena is very convenient, as is the access to the university itself. Excellent and helpful staff. Pretty-good breakfast buffet--included in the price of the room--for a smallish and low-cost motel. All-in-all, an excellent value.
Review 95:We had ants literally everywhere!!! They said they turned the thing on so we could watch movies never worked. Lastly there was mold in the bathroom... Waiting to here back from manager for a partial refund.
Review 96:Not a thing!
Review 97:Great location while touring University of Oregon. Just ! right across the street! Great pizza next door and a wonderful complimentary breakfast. Great stay!
Review 98:Older motel right across from Mac Court with decent value. If you want quiet, this is not for you - definitely would ask for upstairs, but I wouldn't stay there again.
Review 99:The walls are very thin. Neighbors very loud till 2 AM. Changed rooms for the 2nd night but could still hear them outside after midnight.
Review 100:Walking distance to OU, fairly comfortable rooms.
Review 101:This is not a modern motel and one has to balance the price you pay vs what you should expect. The bathroom is okay but not great. The room is okay but not great. The motel needs to be updated but if they do the price would increase.
Review 102:If you want to be close to UO and not spend a lot of money then this motel fits your needs. It is much better than other motels in this price range.
Review 103:I stayed for about three weeks so I know! Bad staff management. I asked for extension and they did not do it for me so they literaly kicked me out suddenly! Ask for anything to be documented since they are not reliable. Some of them are nice.
Review 104:We were staying 2 nights, had booked very early and yet was given a room near the road so quite a lot of road noise. Tiny bathroom. Small queen bed. The fridge was on the lowest setting yet all our food frozen solid. Some of the steps in the first set of stairs near the road are on a downward slope making them dangerous when carrying bags down stairs.
Review 105:Clean, good size room, microwave, fridge, good bath towels,
Review 106:Carpet was a bit old and the bathroom tiny,
Review 107:Had a room with a queen size bed. Loved having the sofa in the room. Everything that we needed and the price was perfect. Would definitely stay here again as we pass through Eugene. Perfect for a one night stay.
Review 108:We (me, my sister and our mom) really loved it at this hotel every staff member that we encountered was very polite and helpful, the pool was excellent, the beds were so comfortable and the breakfast exceeded our expectations. We have no complaints.
Review 109:Not being able to get into the lobby early in the morning for coffee or breakfast. We thought breakfast was at six.
Review 110:We were traveling for business and did not want to spend a lot just for a bed. The cleanliness & comfort were great value for the money.
Review 111:Not enough parking. Smelled of deodorized smoke. Ancient, inefficient toilet (they're clueless)...had to hold handle down for 10+ seconds to flush. Cheap 15 watt light fixture over sink...couldn't see to shave (again, so clueless). Shower n toilet too cramped together. Non-working metal bi-fold closet doors totally unneeded. Summary....simple cures to keep guests happy (was told owner had 2 other "Inns")...new $100 toilet, $39 lite instead of the $10 one, trash the closet doors, and make all rooms smoke-free.
Review 112:Size of room, Bed, Continental breakfast, $82 room rate, but would not recommend above $90. Wide counter @ sink.
Review 113:The breakfast, its´nt like hotel breakfast in Europe, but ok, it fill your stomach
Review 114:That everything is so near, so you can walk. 500 meters to the University of Oregon. Good rooms, good beds.
Review 115:This year, both mornings that I came in for breakfast the morning man had a lady friend hanging out at the counter chatting with him and keeping him from attending to customers and the breakfast room. When she was there again on day 2 I wasn't so polite and asked her if she worked there, when she said "no, I'm just visiting a friend" I told her that it was rude for her to be visiting and keeping her friend from his work. She left but by that time the breakfast room was out of milk, juice, muffins, trash was over full, spilling onto the floor, sticky syrup and all, and the coffee in the waiting room was empty. I did not complain to management at the time because I feel that she and your employee won't be there next year for my annual visit. The other people in the dining area thanked me. You asked what I didn't like, well I didn't like the man at the desk in the morning but I still like the University Inn.
Review 116:Location is great, always clean, convenient. I'm a grandma who comes to spend time with family once a year. My grandkids join me when I get there and love the pool and I love watching them in the pool.
Review 117:The room was definitely worth the money we paid for it. We got a great deal and walked away from the University Inn and Suites very happy. Samantha on the front desk was excellent and made us feel welcome immediately. She was really helpful the whole stay. The Continental Breakfast also outdid itself.
Review 118:Bring your own soap and shampoo!! And maybe an extra blanket other then that it suited all our needs
Review 119:It was clean and quiet, the breakfast was good. The small refrigerator and microwave were convenient. There is a grocery store across the hotel with excellent food
Review 120:The most uncomfortable pillows I've tried to sleep on in my entire life.
Review 121:Good location if you need a place to stay while visiting University of Oregon (literally across the street). Staff is very friendly and helpful. Clean.
Review 122:Someone else entered my room while I was there. Changed card access and I could not enter room later. Had to have my card re-keyed. Did not feel very safe.
Review 123:A little noisy
Review 124:Great location, across from the University
Review 125:The room got too hot then too cold and we couldn't get it in the middle.
Review 126:The price
Review 127:The staff was really nice and helpful. Really enjoyed our time here
Review 128:Nothing
Review 129:Location.Price.Breakfast
Review 130:The room of upstairs is quite ,comfortable and clean. Free park.have simple breakfast, very good.
Review 131:Just wished for a hot tub.
Review 132:The staff was friendly. Loved that we could get an early check in. It was a nice place to stay. Would stay again.
Review 133:The price was outrageous, plus I had a deal for two rooms. And, that deal was not honored.
Review 134:Nothing!
Review 135:Great location near to university and major routes. Lovely room, friendly staff.
