Reviews for Taal Vista Hotel

Review 1:No blanket under the duvet...its unsanitary..late checkin though we requested for early checki in..requested for a non smoking rooms but we landed in a smoking room

Review 2:- room door paint are peeling off - floors are not clean - pillow covers are not white enough and stained - bathroom tiles grout are not clean - the smell of the room is moldy - I thought all their rooms has been renovated and turned to modern furnishings which shows in the picture - the rooms are not sound proof. you can hear the trolleys and kids in the hallway

Review 3:only the view of the room

Review 4:I requested for early check-in and the staff was kind enough to grant my request. The staff are all accommodating and the place is very clean. It makes our stay in Tagaytay really relaxing!

Review 5:My visitors at lake view side stayed at premier rooms on the third floor. We went the circuitous way when in fact there is a shorter route via 2nd floor lift. There should be a written instruction to guests regarding this info

Review 6:Immense improved faculties since the old Taal Vista Lodge

Review 7:the sink in our bathroom was a little clogged, the water takes time to disappear. The shower curtain smells bad.

Review 8:the view from the view deck is just fantastic. the breakfast buffet was also very good!

Review 9:If the exhaust is not running you can smell foul odor (probably from a leak in sewage vent line in ceiling void).

Review 10:the location -along the ridge overlooking the Taal Volcano..

Review 11:We arrived at the hotel few minutes before 1pm. We were allowed to check in. After the SOP for checking in, we were informed that we have to wait for a few more minutes since our room is still being prepared. We obliged as we understand that standard check in time is 2pm. After a few minutes, I checked with the front desk officer if the room is ready. I was informed that it is still being cleaned and will be finished at exactly 2pm. While we were sitted at the lobby, we noticed that some guests who have checked in were allowed to proceed to their rooms right away. So I approached the front desk officer again and told him that we noticed. I was in a different tone when I aporoached him. I told him that we booked our room one month before and we are not walk in guests. Why do we still have to wait for 2pm while other guests are allowed to proceed to their room right after checking in. He went inside a room behind the front desk. When he returned, he told me that we can now proceed to our room. Initially he said that the room will be available at 2pm. But when I approached him in a different tone, he told me that the room is ready. He was apologetic but did not give any explanation to what happened. Also, we were not able to use their wifi because of poor signal. Tried to ask the staff one time and she just gave me a new password. I did not bother to insists on the wifi because of bad experience that we had checking in.

Review 12:The location and the big bed

Review 13:hassle check-in even if confirmed booking and all special requests have been coordinated morethan a month prior to check-in, but when you check-in, you have to tell everything all over again... that's what you get from being so nice. rooms have to be renovated

Review 14:Property location

Review 15:Delays at Check-in. I have stayed at the hotel a few times and every time the check in has been slow and lacked courtesy. I have never felt any warmth or being welcome.

Review 16:The restaurants are good, especially Taza.

Review 17:Housekeeping was a littleslow but I was there on a weird time Big storm and double weddings kept them running

Review 18:Great front desk and resturant personal Super fast check-in I have been traveling in the RP for years and this place sets the standard for front desk and facilities.

Review 19:The front desk were extremely inefficient. I had to transfer rooms because I asked to stay an extra night (I shouldn't have had to do that in the first place), but I obliged because a guest was checking in and wanted 3 rooms next to each other (one of which was my room). But since I had to prepare for a wedding, I wanted to transfer early and was told I could transfer by 9AM). At 9, they sent a bellhop to get our things but he had no idea where we were transferring to. The front desk personnel who arranged the transfer went on break. No one could resolve the issue and we were transferred at 11:00! The wedding I had to prepare for and travel to was at 12NN.

Review 20:The bell hops and the guards were nice.

Review 21:A tad on the expensive side

Review 22:Stunning location overlooking the volcano and lake, very good buffets, nice large comfortable rooms, friendly staff. Loved Tagaytay, weather is much cooler than Manila

Review 23:It was not worth the money, the breakfasts were not of good quality, table in the restaurant was dirty, no good coffee,or fresh juice. In the room only one small shower gel and one small shampoo for 2 people, which was nearly enough for one.the games room has old and very damaged billiard table, pool is only opened till 6:00pm.Half of the devices at the gym are damaged. I think we overpaid for this hotel and it would not be my choice for second stay. IF hotel wants to charge this high amount for room, they shall adjust service to the highest standards as well.

Review 24:The view was great.rooms were very clean.

Review 25:the checkin was a bit slow. but its ok we were greeted warmly and with drinks.

Review 26:the buffet breakfast was good. our deluxe room is very comfy. an additional single bed was provided without a fee,its definitely a plus for a fa,ily of 2 adults and 2 kids.thank you Taal Vista.

Review 27:Mostly everything, from the room, to the service , facilities needs alot of work and improvements. Not worth the money. I think too pricey for the condition of the rooms and facilities.rooms are so outdated.too much hidden fees.Staff are not so helpful, didnt notify customers if requests are available.Didnt like the hotel at all. Will not going to stay there ever again.

Review 28:Just the buffet breakfast

Review 29:staff in the breakfast cafe are not as good. i fall in line for the breakfast but since the one behind me handed the stub first she was given seats first, so what is the line first huh? table cloth are not change after each use.

Review 30:room service are fast and very friendly.

Review 31:On 2nd day the aircon unit was leaking and bathtub drainage is not properly draining which is so unhygiene to wash inside the tub. We stayed in room 269 lake view...pls try to install bidet as well. We need it so badly for hygiene-wise.

Review 32:Tranquility and serene location.

Review 33:Wifi is terribly slow, was not able to check emails because of that. The bed is very uncomfortable, we can feel the mattress coil on our backs. We told the bellboy about it but nobody bothered to check. The waiters on the dining area are not very friendly and alert. We have to call their attention a couple of times before they will act.

Review 34:I like the location

Review 35:None

Review 36:Staff are all courteous and very accommodating. Hotel is very, very clean as in spotless. Food is great. I needed antacid at night but the nurse was on break. One staff sent the med to our room.

Review 37:A highly rated hotel but no dry cleaning, it might not be cost effective but should recommend an alternative...

Review 38:Security, I rate them 9, a highly secured place, it is much better with the casino gone. I would highly recommend the place to my co-workers , friends and families. While I was young, My Tatay on our way home to Batangas always stop by at the historic coffee shop. Thanks to concierge, front office, restaurant staff, Housekeeping and Security staff.

Review 39:Air conditioner was leaking and the room was too warm. We reported to front desk and they said they'd send someone to fix it. It wasn't fixed and basically, the front desk person said there was nothing they could do because they couldn't transfer us to other rooms - the hotel was fully booked. So we still paid the ridiculous price for a room that was uncomfortable and too warm. They didn't do anything to at least address our complaint. It was as if...too bad, you're-already-here-so-just bear-with-it kind of case. The staff were obviously not trained to handle a simple case such as this. No warmth, no empathy...robotic kind of service. To further validate that we made the wrong choice of staying in this hotel....during breakfast, one of the staff was insisting that my son, 9 years old, was an adult. So I told her to go ahead and interview him herself, and ask for his birth date and whatever qualifying questions she had in mind. Disappointing. Assuming that we probably just want to pay half the price of the buffet so we were saying he was below 11. Annoying....especially when we slept in an uncomfortable state given that the hotel's air conditioner was busted! Then you see the buffet table fruit selection covered with fruit flies. Hope this comment reaches the hotel's management team....because obviously...from facilities to staff...you need a total revamp.

Review 40:Our Room facing canyon ranch has a not so nice view. Down below also you can see the old Christmas tree that was uses before and some other junk.

Review 41:Room is nice . Helpful staff members. Good

Review 42:I don't have a bad experience but since I worked in a 5 star hotel before I notice that the tissue in the bathroom is not new bec it is already thin.

Review 43:Their front office are very accomodating esp the one named Denise. She always make sure that everything is okay. The food in Cafe Veranda is very very tasty you'll enjoy every bite. And also the location of the hotel, the view of taal lake is very awesome unlike any other hotels.

Review 44:It would have been better if the fruit juices in the breakfast buffet were freshly squeezed instead of being powdered concentrate. Also, it would have been more exciting if there were native delicacies in the breakfast fare, as these would go well with the native chocolate drink or even coffee.

Review 45:The place is elegant and clean, especially the new wing. The panoramic view of the Taal lake/volcano was exhilarating.

Review 46:the toilet bowl was unclean. maybe it was the recycled water, but it was very unpleasant.

Review 47:it has the best view of the lake and the volcano. the staff is super friendly.

Review 48:The Swimming pool was too small.

Review 49:Nice view to taal volcano, quiet and comfortable bed. My Son really love the play room. It's walking distance to Skyranch.

Review 50:A bit worn off furnitures and toilet accessories . Bathtub has a lot of patches due to maintenance and rubber is quite dirty and they should have a bidet . The door from the balcony is not closing and we only found this out after second day of our stay and the floor is so dirty . Low maintenance housekeeping .

Review 51:The view is stunning and relaxing if u have a premier view room .

Review 52:Wifi failed and experienced awful signal in our room. and our door looked almost loosened the tightness of it. Like im not comfortable leaving the room because of our door

Review 53:The location of breakfast buffet was superb with a wonderful view and delicious food. Staff was accommodating.

Review 54:The food was really poor. Given the price paid for the rooms and the price for food on their menu, we expected a high standard in terms quality. We were very disappointed in this respect, and also in terms of the quantity of portions (e.g. their 'catch of the day' fish and chips was sent back because eating the fish was like chewing rubber, and the fish itself comprised two tiny bite sized nuggets which had been smothered in a thick breadcrumbed batter to make the portion seem larger). Food also had a peculiar taste from being fried in what was possibly a re-used or low quality cooking oil.

Review 55:Location great for the view. Staff were also very good, trying their best to please.

Review 56:Nothing much. I guess we would appreciate more passageways/ramps for strollers since we were travelling with a toddler.

Review 57:The Duty Manager went out of her way to fix a dispute and offered service recovery and that effort made our stay even more special, given that my family always stay at this hotel whenever we go to Tagaytay.

Review 58:The long wait for check in. We were checked in past 3pm but we were already there at 1pm.

Review 59:The cakes and pastries at the hotel lobby restaurant, and the pan de coco at the bakeshop.

Review 60:i wrote my date of birth upon check in (checked a day before my actual bday) and receptionist obviously didn't read it. upon check out, receptionist greeted me and told me that i should have informed them that it's my bday.. seriously?

Review 61:We were not informed upon check in that our room was in a smoking floor. But they moved us right away when we made the request. Breakfast spread was average.

Review 62:Staff were great & place was relaxing. Loved hanging out in the Lobby Lounge.

Review 63:Not really a bad experience but having a bidet in the restroom will better cater to guests that prefer it. The swimming pool could also use some updates (make it bigger or add new ones).

Review 64:The staff were very friendly and the breakfast food was excellent. It is also nice that the hotel kept a lot of grounds with fresh greenery making the stay more relaxing. I mentioned in my booking that we were celebrating our first year together and the hotel was nice enough to surprise us with a slice of cake with a greeting. We definitely will come back!

Review 65:Noise of screaming guests at the Sky Ranch!

Review 66:Location, Friendly staff, Breakfast buffet, Very comfortable and the most perfect volcanoe and lake view from the terrace

Review 67:Our booking saif lake view but the only view i had was the road with passing vehicles.During checkout the frontdesk person attending to us was not attentive and asked 3x if no one was in our rooms again and again as if we didnt answer her previous questions...and because of that i recieved a call that later that evening that our extra head for the buffet breakfast wasnt included in our bill meaning incompetence or not attentive service yet again of their staff

Review 68:Housekeeping was very good...they accomodated all our requests...bed was comfy.breakfast was good but lacked nicer looking fruit platters

Review 69:I didn't like the old wooden floor tiles. Needs replacement. The toiletries were incomplete. No bidet.

Review 70:We really liked the ambiance. It's very relaxing ang the view was breathtaking. Very quite. Very cozy. The food was delicious. Reasonable price. Friendly staff, very accommodating. My requests were granted and we were entitled to F/B credit per room. We're very surprised and happy.

Review 71:Door of terrace not closing properly and banging all nite, I suggest a heater in room when weather is humid and cold in rainy season, my wife was a cold at nite

Review 72:View from terrace, ,quality of service, beauty of landscape, food choices

Review 73:Breakfast: bacon was hard & tasteless, hot chocolate drink was grainy-not fully dissolved, staff not proactive with simple things like serving coffee or providing spoons to stir coffee. Room: Shower stall had mildew, hair on toilet seat upon check-in, my wife's debit card was charged 2X, although rectified-still questionable, front desk did not communicate properly re: late checkout at 1pm, housekeeping still knocked profusely on our door at 12noon! Sink stopper doesn't work, keeps sink plugged up.

Review 74:I liked the view deck area, beautiful & good angle of Taal volcano, free parking, free wifi, rate inclusive of buffet breakfast, location.

Review 75:We requested for room cleaning but our empty wine bottle and pizza box was not removed.

Review 76:One of our favorite places to have a getaway in the Philippines is Tagaytay and this hotel is among the best places to stay in Tagaytay with a value for your money.

Review 77:The bathroom. There was no table or area to place our personal amenities eg toothbrushes, toiletries as there was just a small sink. I had to place mine in the bedroom. Otherwise, everything else was perfect!

Review 78:I was upgraded to 3 superior rooms (from 1 superior and 2 deluxe) at no extra charge, so that my party of six could be together). How thoughtful! The staff were, almost without exception, courteous, cheerful and went beyond to please us guests. The view from the viewing deck (just outside the restaurant) was majestically breathtaking!

Review 79:Only thing we didn't like is the frontage of the hotel, it's not well lit. Walking around like going to Skyranch feels unsafe and uncomfortable because it's dark in the streets.

Review 80:We love the room, it's spacious and don't have any unwanted smell. Sheets and towels are clean. Buffet breakfast was superb! :-)

Review 81:I paid in cash, and I did not expect to pay a deposit worth 2000 pesos if someone pays in cash, which would be given back to me after my checkout. Good thing though that there was a nearby ATM. Next time, perhaps the hotel (or Booking.com itself) advice visitors that they would need a deposit fee. Another thing was that I specifically asked for a king-size bed, not a double-bed in my room. While they did offer to put the two beds together, I expected that: a) my order would be fulfilled the next time around, and b) that when beds are put together, that they actually make sure that the beds do not move when someone lies down in the center.

Review 82:I liked the wonderful breakfast buffet, as well as the spacious area of the room. I loved that there was a view outside the hotel, and the fragrance that greets you (lavender?).

Review 83:When we check in. No one help us of our luggage. No one show us the way of our room. Keep searching. No one offer help. It's was bad experience. I will not advice any one to check in. You can come for drink or lunch and enjoy the view. The hotel it should be not 5 star hotel. My be 2 star I will believe.

Review 84:View amazing of taal volcano

Review 85:The bridge on the indoor playground needs a replacement as it already has a crack, might cause accidents to kids. It will also add fun to kids if you all more toys like wooden blocks and balls.

Review 86:we love the breakfast with lots of variety! the scenic view is also awesome.

Review 87:Room charges is more than what we agreed on line. I deserve a refund of the over charge

Review 88:Buffet is excellent although a bit pricy. Excellent service of the entire staff.

Review 89:Hotel Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We left some of our belongings inside the room and they sent it to our home address free of charge even if i offered to pay the courier fee.

Review 90:The air-conditioner can not keep up with the heat on our last day. There was no bidet in the toilet.

Review 91:Amazing view of the lake and neighboring town from our balcony! Helpful staff and crew. Breakfast was a delight at the veranda overlooking the lake.

Review 92:Although the balcony of both rooms had a fantastic view of Taal Volcano and Lake, our rooms were on the 1st floor and near the end of the property so the fence actually blocked our view. Would recommend the 2nd to 4th floor Lake View Rooms as these would have unobstructed views.

Review 93:We got 2 Lake View rooms. The staff had misplaced our booking so it took us close to 30 mins to check in. In the end, 1 room was upgraded to a Suite so we didn't mind at all. But the other room we got was full of mosquitoes so we requested to change our room for our second night.

Review 94:Breakfast bacon may have been cooked too much at a crisp, unable to bite through some strips.

Review 95:The welcome fruit basket was appreciated. Lovely lobby dinner being serenedad by piano music.

Review 96:Pillows are very hard and the beds are small. Its be double bed. No main door of the bathroom. There was no Bidet in the bathroom.

Review 97:Perfect views for relaxation. Breakfast was good.

Review 98:It's not a bad experience, but, if only you can make the gym bigger and with more equipment. The gym also has no toilet inside, you have to go out. . . . .

Review 99:The Beauty of the back scenery from Taal Lake is refreshing to a tired mind and body! The staffs also are accommodating and attentive to your requirements!

Review 100:Specification on the website that lake view is highly recommended than mountain view.

Review 101:Our deepest regards to staff nurse Con-Con. If not with his warm assistance, we would not know how to get through our medical emergency during the wee hours of our stay.

Review 102:Noise upper floors when guests walking or running in rooms and corridors , they must carpet the rooms and corridors

Review 103:Very nice place to stay in Taygaytay, amazing view to lace and volcano, fresh breath early

Review 104:The rooms where we stayed needs redecorating. Towels provided were not what you will not expect on a 5 star hotel.

Review 105:The foods and the evening entertainment in the restaurant. The helpfulness of the hotel staff.

Review 106:Staff attitude, noise in the corridor that didn't let us sleep at night, room service food was bad... Only GM was nice and at least tried to make our stay there more or less comfortable.

Review 107:The view

Review 108:-Room is not ready when we check. -no guide to our room when we check in. -the view is covered with trees and miss the view -we had someone deliver a folding bed 11.30 pm we did not ask for that -we can hear other guest passing by and step along the stairs near our room -

Review 109:-amazing view overlooking the lake staff is very welcome to us. -we arrive room is not ready, replacement room is not bad,i still preffer over looking to the lake next time we stay. --food is good -clean -i really like that.

Review 110:Wifi become weak because too many people using it during convention.

Review 111:We were upgraded to a deluxe room with a lake view because of my husbands condition. The staff communicated better than expected. I love the food and we stayed cozy in our room. Overall, our stay was the best hotel that we stayed in the Philippines. We will definitely come back again with our adult kids next time.

Review 112:To much crawd in breakfast time We want long time to find space to have our breakfast

Review 113:Hotel must have taxi or transport Hotel must have enough staff in beautiy Centr

Review 114:We were put in the farthest room. The lock of our room got lowbatt so we were locked out and had to wait for more than 30mins for them to fix it. Majority of the reason why it took longer was because the staff took a long time to get to our room.

Review 115:We got back to our SUITE from our wedding only to find out that our room was not cleaned. Worse, the "Please Make Up Room" sign was on the door. At past 12 midnight, we have to call 3 times and mind you, we were very upset, before the staff came to clean our room (they came after 45 minutes). The following day, the General Manager promised to meet us but since he can't meet us, his supervisor promised that he will give us a call. It's been almost 2 weeks: we were made to pay the full price of our stay for the bad service and we are still waiting for the GM to call (I guess he will no longer call, so I am just placing this review so everyone would know!). And we also have photos and videos of the room before they cleaned it.

Review 116:- So Expensive, no discount was applied which is supposedly for Wedding Entourage - It rained hard, roof was leaking - We got wet as walk way from room to lobby was not covered - Breakfast was hefty volume but does not taste good - Ballroom smells like humid carpet

Review 117:+ Accommodating Front desk Manager

Review 118:The walking distance from the room to the hotel facilities ((lobby, restaurant, etc) was quite long. The breakfast buffet choice was rather limited.

Review 119:Staff were very helpful and courteous. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean.

Review 120:Hotel's viewing deck has a nice view of Taal Lake. Located right beside Sky Ranch, it is just walking distance to places to eat and activities to do.

Review 121:Taal Vista is beautifully located over the stunning view of the lake and volcano. Simply breathtaking. The service and comfort of the rooms was lovely. Good choices for breakfast.

Review 122:Layout of hotel, skimpy furnishings (a second bedside table wouldn't have broken the bank...), rock-hard mattresses, poor design of bathroom and shower stalls, no door to bathroom area at all - god forbid if you are sharing a room with a "friend", volume cap on TV, cobwebs unswept on balcony, cleanliness a bit suspect, noise from function room area, amusement park next door ruins the beautiful natural scenery and serenity. What were they thinking??

Review 123:the view

Review 124:The price in booking is only for regular rooms if you would like to have a room with belcony and tala viwe you need to pay more. The breckfast is below standerd. Transportation from the hotel back to manila is very expensive you need to arrange your own.

Review 125:The location and the souronding area is one of the best.

Review 126:The doors are thin. You can hear people in the adjoining room and outside the hallway. The towels also feel old.

Review 127:The rooms are spacious. You get free toiletries. The bed is huge. There are a lot of cable channels to choose from.

Review 128:The t.v was not working.complained about it maintenance came but was not able to have it working.was told they, ll comeback but never did.the bath tub was stained - it needs refurbishing.and the towels needs to be changed as it no longer looks white.

Review 129:The staff were nice and accommodating , food at breakfast was okay.

Review 130:The bathroom facilities needs a lot of upgrade/improvement. The watercloset though functioning, lacks water to flush, very disappointing.

Review 131:Perfect location to see Taal Lake/volcano

Review 132:The staff are warm with big smiles. Facilities like swimming pool, gym, billiards are part of the hotel package. My husband is very diffficult to satisfy with his standards, but he just love this hotel, that we decided to check in again today . Not to mention the location overlooking the Taal volcano, the mountain view ,the superb weather, and walking distance to the Sky Ranch..We would love to stay here again when we come for a holiday next year.

Review 133:Room service was bad . Incomplete settings...plates, utensils, glasses....very disappointing. Expensive food with room service charges but not worth paying honestly. Very disappointing.

Review 134:Concierge who brought our bags up. Very friendly and polite .

Review 135:The food at the restaurant was below expectations. Dinner and breakfast was really disappointing, will not recommend it. We had ordered a garden view room, but got a view of construction and some grass?! More like a 3 star hotel than 5 stars.

Review 136:Nice view from the lounge area. Neat garden area.

Review 137:None, i think

Review 138:I liked the privacy and the way my needs were accomodated by the staff. I was able to rest and relax which i badly needed that time.

Review 139:My towel was mistaken as hotel towel and I found my towel dirty and wet on the floor.

Review 140:Breakfast.
