Reviews for Terrace Central B&B Hotel

Review 1:Parking can be a bit difficult with limited parking bays but some street parking available.

Review 2:Very comfortable, quiet and private. Stayed in the Terrace Suite which consisted of a sitting area, bedroom, bathroom facilities, fridge and microwave. Continental breakfast was very good. Staff very accommodating, helpful and take the time for a chat. Very close to the heart of Fremantle and lots of tourist attractions.

Review 3:Perfect location close to town center, very friendly staff and great atmosphere. Room was clean and comfortable. Easy parking. Was a great experience.

Review 4:The lady whom we met upon check-in wasn't that friendly. She sounded a bit rude. Toilet outside. Not convenient if have to go in the middle of the night. The kettle is rusting.

Review 5:Location. Less than 8 mins walk to town center. Spacious self-contained apartment with the courtyard. Well decorated rooms give you a homely feel.

Review 6:having to fetch and iron / ironing board and expected to return it "breakfast" was continental but no mention of this when booking, and all food was wheat based, no fresh fruit, and cheap awful juice and coffee Having to explore the kitchen to find what might be the breakfast was a bit weird. food, coffee in room, all seemed to be the cheapest possible. it's easy to go one step up without a ginormous cost

Review 7:Location Bed - very comfortable Aircon Quietness Water pressure and temperature in shower

Review 8:All Good

Review 9:Only stayed one night, but was the ideal place to stay to see Fremantle. Every thing is so close, Markets Restaurants Shopping and Sight seeing. Free Cat Bus at the front door to see a free tour of Fremantle.

Review 10:Not a complaint but I thought breakfast would be cooked. Well supplied though.

Review 11:Very clean and plenty of room. My room was quiet with no noise from the street or from other residents.

Review 12:Room was a little dusty and the shower head would not tighten up! it had to be held in place.

Review 13:Staff were very friendly and easy to check in. Decor was nice and the breakfast room was bright and airey

Review 14:Room had no external Windows. Two windows that the room did have were into common hallways that had lights on 24/7. The blinds in the room allowed the light from the common hallways in. Made for some bad nights sleep.

Review 15:Breakfast was not good- tinned fruit, limited cereals and sweet yoghurt. No fibre. No eggs or cooked breakfast. Air con shut down after few hours. Could not open window. Got very hot at night DVD did not work. Traffic noise woke us up at 0630

Review 16:bed was comfortable

Review 17:Banging water pipes! We think the water pressure was too high, as every time we turned on taps/shower, the pipes banged loudly.

Review 18:Fantastic location - easy walking distance to tourist attractions/restaurants/cafes. Breakfast/dining room at hotel was cosy and welcoming, as was the room.

Review 19:The property had such a great location to the centre of Fremantle, everything is within walking distance. The facilities were great (unfortunately it was just a 1 night stop over so didn't get to use all facilities provided).

Review 20:Hard to find parking, especially when the hotel is full. You may need to park on the street.

Review 21:Good location, close to Fremantle strip for coffee and other facilities.

Review 22:Good location. Lovely staff. Comfortable room, surprisingly quiet as we faced the front of the building and the main road. Continental breakfast was fine.

Review 23:could find not one thing to dislike .

Review 24:Home away from home - so close to everything we needed & more. we just parked the car & walked to all local attractions & Ferry to Rottnest & many restaurants. Barry is a genuinely cheerful warm host & we felt very comfortable amongst his beautiful collection of eclectic décor.

Review 25:Nothing

Review 26:Host Barry was very friendly & welcoming. Breakfast was continental but there was a huge variety - crumpets, fruit bread yummy. Location is excellent, walking distance to harbour & city with free bus nearby.

Review 27:Original booking for a cottage was cancelled by the operator " owners had withdrawn it from portfolio"and I agreed to his offer of accommodation in his property, a studio off the Breakfast Room. However he failed to advise that the bedrooms were up steep stairs and the toilet downstairs. The shower, vanity, tiny kitchenette and laundry were all in the same small room. There was nowhere to eat or lounge except in the main bedroom. The bedding in the single was cold, the pillows lumpy. It was noisy at night from nearby traffic and neighbours, and early am when the staff prepared the breakfast underneath my bedroom.

Review 28:Easy walking distance to CBD and the Free Circle Bus stops across the road.

Review 29:breakfast options, not much for for gluten and dairy free. (I didn't ask or see anyone in the morning) also I prefer a protein breakfast e.g. eggs and that was not an option. Just cereal, bread to toast and yogurt and fruit.

Review 30:the welcome and free upgrade, location

Review 31:The owner was very pleasant and accommodating. The room was comfortable and clean with a very nice ambience. I will defintely stay there again and recommend it to others. Great location, walking distance to cafe's and restaurants.

Review 32:Since my first stay I noticed that the TV signal was interrupted every 10-20 seconds for about 1-2 seconds, most of the time, with longer periods -minutes- without interruptions in between. I thought back then that it was because it was the start of digital TV and it was not yet working properly. Unfortunately that hasn't changed, a small detail but annoying when trying to follow a program where sentences keep being missed. Also, this time I booked a budget unit on the lower floor. Much better position, so close to the back door and the private parking, fantastic! However, the bathroom in this unit is really narrow, a very small gap -around 1/2 metre- between the front of the toilet seat and the wall, quite uncomfortable at some moments. Last, the toilet is so close to the shower that the shower door only partially opens, something to keep in mind for larger people, as they would not be able to get in and out.

Review 33:This is my third stay in the last few years and I have always been extremely satisfied. Charming 100 year old building, very well kept, very nicely decorated. Perfectly clean, superbly comfortable bed, lovely owners, very friendly and helpful. Idyllic central location only 200 metres from the centre of Fremantle, walking distance everywhere, invaluable commodity! Exactly across the road from the Fremantle Hospital. Free wi-fi, so handy!

Review 34:Perfect location could walk to markets, shops, etc. We had a courtyard which needed a little clean up but was great place to sit, have a drink and reflect on our day. Old but comfortable would stay again.

Review 35:Not much of a problem but in the Bakehouse the wifi signal wasn't good.

Review 36:Location was brilliant for walking into Freo and the train station and also for the Blue CAT to the beach. Couldn't have been better.

Review 37:Not being on holiday and having to be out by 7:30 am to attend work each day, I could not enjoy the breakfast that was included in the cost of accommodation so started each day hungry. This could also be a problem for those guests wanting to get out early to see Perth or more distant WA sights. Is a 6:30 am opening for breakfast possible?

Review 38:Easy booking and confirmation and warm welcome on arrival. Immaculately clean and generally comfortable furnishings, reasonably close to Freemantle's restaurants. Did not use public transport during my stay but noticed the bus stop just outside the door! Will visit and stay again for work or pleasure.

Review 39:Grossly overpriced, cottage in desperate need of refurbishment, toilet and bathroom facilities disgraceful for 2 couples even had to dodge a wall cabinet sitting in the middle of passageway to get to bathroom at night. The courtyard was neglected, dirty and untidy.

Review 40:Position

Review 41:There was always no one in the reception, the manager/owner kept saying it's a budget motel. While we were on the way, crusing on a ferry to Fremantle at about noon, a staff called us, kept asking us our time of check-in. It's our first time there, we replied not sure because didn't know the bus schedule to the B&B, and she kept pushing. I ended up asking the cruise staff for information and called her back. It's fair that she needed some break from the reception but the owner who runs the B&B should look into both the interests of his staff and guests. Also, when we checked out at 9:30am, we hoped to store our luggages in the reception since we wanted to spend half day in Fremantle before returning to Perth. There was no one in the reception, and the manager told us thru' an intercom that we couldn't because there will be no one in the reception later in the pm!! We ended up shorten our trip in Fremantle.

Review 42:The B&B is itself an antique house. Our room doesn't have a window because it's in the basement but the room is well decorated. There are free DVD for guests but a lot of the cases are empty. It's relaxing having breakfast in the dining room with soft music.

Review 43:At breakfast I missed wholegrain items and some kind of cheese.

Review 44:Beautifully decorated rooms, great facilities, peaceful environment, yet almost in the town center.

Review 45:The breakfast was very basic. Butter uncovered in the fridge and the milk tasted as if it was powdered milk. Packets of butter is a better option, also fresh milk. Everything to do with breakfast was just that little bit too casual

Review 46:Proximity to shops, restaurants etc. Our stay was comfortable and cleanliness was very good

Review 47:Busy street so traffic noise. Uncomfortable arm chairs in room. Inconsistent/mediocre room service.

Review 48:Easy flat walk to centre of town and restaurants etc. Large room.

Review 49:Perfect location for restaurants, shops etc. Room comfortable and quiet. Staff very friendly, efficient and not intrusive. Breakfast bar wonderful

Review 50:For the price charged I believe that Reception should be staffed throughout the day.

Review 51:Really liked the quality of furnishings and gracious atmosphere. Peaceful (room at the back) despite location on a busy street. Splendid central location.

Review 52:My wife and I had our grandson, niece and nephew waiting in the lobby while we took our bags to our room . We were going for a outing .While we were away, the owner told my kids to leave as my grandson was laughing, and commented to my niece > QUOTE > " YOUR THE REASON, WHY WE DON'T HAVE CHILDREN STAYING HERE". I WAS DISGUSTED ON WHAT HE TOLD MY KIDS TO DO AS THEY ARE YOUNG. I WILL never go there again

Review 53:NOTHING AT ALL

Review 54:Signs need to be placed outside the rooms asking to be considerate to other quests and be quiet and don't bang your Bedroom doors early in the morning. Had quests banging their doors from 5.30!

Review 55:Great location, comfortable, clean and friendly Staff

Review 56:Not that easy to access the office internally, have to then go back outside to exterior entrance if you have any questions for reception as no internal phone. A bit cold to do this.

Review 57:We loved how all the furnishings matched the era of the house, including past and present photos of Freemantle. Great location to all cafes and restaurants. Lovely brekky included in dining room too. Great to have back door access from convenient private car park.

Review 58:The dirty toilet which I had to scrub with the toilet brush before use. The pump bottle on the hand basin could have done with a clean.

Review 59:Location was great for us. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast met our needs and expectations.

Review 60:Liked everything but some things could be a little better There was parking space for us but there isn't a whole lot so may not be available at busy times. Breakfast was very basic A staff member was there to give me the key but staff members were not available at any other time.

Review 61:Very sweet building with cute vintage feel and decor. Quite, comfy and spacious Great location!

Review 62:There is no breakfast available for tenants in the Cottage - we knew this in advance so were prepared. However, it does mean the B&B label does not apply.

Review 63:We stayed in the charming 19th Century Cottage for 4 days and had a relaxing stay. Having the kitchen facilities meant we could cook our own meals, which was especially helpful on the winter nights. The location is excellent and there was privacy, and helpful parking arrangements. The Internet/wifi signal was adequate also. The staff were responsive, friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend to others and stay there again.

Review 64:No enough time to visit

Review 65:Very comfortable. Very reasonable prices. Great owner and staff who couldn't do enough to help us. Car parking and close enough to walk everywhere.

Review 66:room decor was drab cheap bed surround no croissants! as per the picture on the website!-but self serve brekki was a good idea I got the stay on a cheaper deal but would not have paid full price

Review 67:nice touch with the laptop in the room and books to read.

Review 68:The apartment had no outlook, the outside space was dirty, the kitchen was old and damp and very badly equipped.

Review 69:We stayed in the self catering apartment not the B&B. The bedrooms and bathroom were clean.
