Review 1：The beds were SO comfortable. Normally we have trouble sleeping the first night at a hotel. We slept so soundly, like a spa! The staff was SO nice! This was the second time I'd stayed at the MET. I will absolutely return.

Review 2：Halls smelled like an old cigar or dirty sock. Should fumigate facilities to rid of the stale smell.

Review 4：My worst hotel experience ever! We had to leave at midnight when the beds became alive with large crawling bed bugs. We then discovered used condoms under one of the beds. We asked for a refund and so far have not been successful in getting our stay refunded despite our not being able to stay. Prior to midnight we had noticed the room was not that clean and everything dated but were going to weather it. When the bed came alive with dozens of the bugs we had to leave.

Review 6：The hotel is old and needs updating in several areas. My room had dim lighting in the bathroom and bad ceiling tiles, no good view from any window, but I didn't go for the view.

Review 8：DID NOT REFRESH THE TOWELS, THERE WAS A SMALL AMOUNT OF MOLD IN THE BATHROOM NEAR THE SHOWER CEILING. THEY OFFERED FREE COFFEE BUT THE AREA THEY KEPT COFFEE WAS NOT KEPT CLEAN. SOME OF THE EQUIPMENT IN THE WORKOUT ROOM DID NOT WORK. EVEN WITH THESE FEW COMPLAINTS MY OVERALL STAY WAS GOOD AND I WILL BE BACK.

Review 9：THE STAFF WAS FRIENDLY AND NICE WHENEVER I SPOKE TO THEM. MY CONCERNS THAT WERE LISTED IN THE "WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE SECTION" WERE PROPERLY AND PROMPTLY ADDRESSED. THE ROOM WAS SPACIOUS, AND CLEAN. ITS NICELY DECORATED AND THE HEAT WORKED. THE LOCATION I DEFINITELY WILL BE BACK.

Review 12：Staff and uncleanliness of the room. No one was present at the front desk upon check in because the staff was in back having a personal expletive filled conversation. The bathroom and tub are never cleaned based on previous stays at this hotel. The wifi doesn't work. All of these prompted me to check out after one night. This is not a 3-star hotel as advertised. I will not stay at The Met ever again.

Review 14：Your facility has a mold problem in the bathrooms. I went through three rooms before finding a room where the mold was minimal. Due to health concerns, I cannot stay at your facility again.

Review 25：Carpeting in rooms are badly stained and need to be replaced. Do not get a bedroom on the third/top floor since there are water damaged ceilings and walls. Musty smells in rooms probably from mold. Had to ask for towels, soap, new light bulbs, etc. no coffee makers in rooms although stated as one of the room amenities. Coffee only by front desk. There is only One coffee pot and needed to ask for replenishment at different times. One Front daytime desk clerk was unresponsive when we needed to change rooms due to 3rd floor water damage. Had to ask for a 2nd floor or 1st for a better room. Couldn't get an adjacent room as requested since those rooms seem to be in disrepair. Owners of property are negligent in overall maintenance of hotel and management of staff. Some staff however were trying but struggled with so many problems in hotel. Too bad, it could be very nice hotel. No breakfast provided but would not want it considering current poor condition.

Review 26：Good location to stores and major roadways. Good size rooms. Pretty lobby. Bed was comfortable with clean linens. Bath fixtures were clean,although the floor needed better mopping.

Review 27：Disgusting rooms. Musty smelling rooms with mold on the ceilings do to water damage. The first room they put me in was supposed to be clean but actually had a piece of feces stuck to the side of the toilet bowl. I was in three rooms before I got one comfortable enough to stay in. I wanted to check out early but all the other hotels were booked or way to expensive. There was dust and hair under the vanities and around the toilets. Not enough towels and wash cloths, had to wash them before replenishing checked out rooms. The WI-FI only reach to rooms closet to the lobby. I don't know how they could have a 3 star rating, all the reviews are bad.

Review 29：Staff was not hospitable, no direction to my room. My room floor was dirty looking, housekeeping didn't clean my room the next day and just put new towels on my bed. One staff member at the desk was very rude to a guest whose English wasn't so good.

Review 34：Didn't receive the parlor room that I was originially booked in. Took over an hour to get into room as no rooms were cleared by cleaning staff at 3 pm. Would not recommend this hotel to my friends. No breakfast facility. Was there on Dream Cruise weekend and the car people revved engines past midnight which was very disturbing.

Review 35：After getting our room keys changed four times, our keys stilldidn't work to our room. Went out to smoke in the morning and gotlocked out of building and had to walk all the way around the buildingthrough the office barefoot and in PJ'S. The pool was so strong withchlorine you could smell it down the hallway and I could not even putthe babies in it which was the whole point of getting a hotelw/inside pool.

Review 36：I didn't like anything, we left the next morning, the only reason westayed in the first is because we had just drove 14 hours.

Review 37：The first room we were put in smelt like cat pee, tv worked but had alot of static to it. Was switched to different room but the lady at front desk was grumpy about it. Second room was better but there werent any towels or wash clothes and had to have some delivered. All the ice machines in the hotwl were out of service except for one on the second floor. Which is inconvenient when your on the third floor.

Review 38：One of the staff members was very friendly. I did not get his name but he was nice and brought towels to us and then told us where we could find an ice machine that did work.

Review 40：When we first arrived,the room was not clean,so we got another room. The young man at the front desk was sullen and rude,the housekeeper Marcia was far more helpful. Marcia was very nice.

Review 41：When we got there, there was only two towels and one hand towel, and no washcloths. There was about a quarter roll of toilet paper. My husband had to go down to the front desk to get another roll. There was only one bar of soap in the bathroom. So we don't think that the bathroom was cleaned at all. We have places we had to be, so we just figured they clean the room the next morning. The next morning housekeeping came while we were still getting ready so they said they come back. We left and came back later in the afternoon around 5 pm and they hadn't cleaned the room. At this point we needed to take showers again and we had only two dirty towels. My husband went out of the front desk to ask for more towels, and was told they were all in the laundry. We have to be somewhere at a specific time so we just had to do without. We got back very late in the evening and there was a bag of towels at our door. So he stayed 2 nights and had two bath towels and one hand towels and one bar soap our room was never cleaned for two nights day. I did complain at the front desk when we checked out this morning which was about a half hour ago the clerk said ok and sorry our housekeeping staff messed up. And it's really too bad because it was actually a pretty decent hotel. One additional note: there is no coffee in the roomsame only at front desk area along with a microwave which a lot of the staff seem to use for their breaks.

Review 47：Booked my room for three nights on booking.com. When I returned to thehotel on the third night my key didn't work. After a few try'sto get into my room a stranger opened the door. Turns out they had soldmy room to someone else, despite the fact that I had reserved it andchecked in, and had no other rooms available that night forcing me tofind another hotel in the area.

Review 48：Loud music, unclean facility and had to get a new key almost daily from the front desk. They kept cancelling the keys. The parking lot needed repairs. Not a nice hotel at all but looked nice on the internet. Would not stay there again.

Review 49：The location and the beds I didn't feel like they had been cleaned because the whole place didn't seem like they took care of the place with maintenance and also up keep with the times. The maintenance man told us that the owner doesn't care about the place because he doesn't make money which it shows.

Review 53：We Loved this hotel! A blast from the past with its 60s modernist architecture and a layout similar to the spaceship in "2001: A Space Odyssey". Great location to quickly drive downtown Detroit to explore & feel secure at night. Its such a big hotel too that it was filled with quirky conference attendees and hipsters at the same time.

Review 56：worst service ever, light hanging out of pool ants crawling out of wall by the hundreds, mildew smelling room, another rooms not even clean and beds not made on arrival.Manager told me he would refund my whole stay. Only refunded 2 of the 3 days. took approx. 12 to 14 days to get that money back. I left 15 to 20 messages for manager, never would return my calls at all. The employees were more important than the customer to management.

Review 58：Wifi didn't work. Keys didn't work and had to walk all the way back to the desk. Ants in my room in the bed. No housekeeping services in my room I had to vaccum myself and change linen. It was so much more no towels. Some staff was friendly others were frustrated themselves and took it out on me. If it wasn't prepaid i would have left sooner but the location and low key atmosphere was the only reason why I stayed.

Review 64：Although the price was great, this was definitely a place to just hold us for the night. We understand it wasn't a 5 star accommodation, but there were just a few things that were slightly off. I didn't mind the water damage on the ceiling, but the room key not reading correctly every time was a bit aggravating, and the shower had absolutely no hot water. After we returned from the concert we were going to, I wanted to shower and go to sleep. Unfortunately, the shower took about 10 minutes to even get to luke warm. I bit the bullet and just went for it, but it didn't bother me too bad. I was thankful for having a shower in the room in the first place. The pool was very nice, and helped us cool off, but it definitely needs a chemical check. The water was pretty murky, and the deck could have been cleaner. But, still! Definitely worth staying the night tho!

Review 65：It was definitely a great stay. Cheapest place that was close to where we wanted to be, and the beds were very comfortable. The balcony was pretty cool as well, it was small, but definitely great to just step out for a minute and relax. The staff was very nice to our group, they were very personable and listened to your questions very well, and we enjoyed the reservation for what we paid for! At first, we were upset that there was no fridge, microwave or coffee maker in the room, but we re-read the facilities in our confirmation and we noticed they weren't included. Coffee is served at the front desk! It was well worth staying for the one night and besides a few small things, we couldn't be any happier!

She accommodated our group of 7 (2 rooms) three times in order to make sure our rooms were next to each other, and she never gave us attitude or was rude. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and I loved how we could adjust our own temperature in the room (a lot of hotels claim you can but don't work).

Review 70：We were given two rooms that were under maintenance,before beingassigned to 2 rooms an hour after arriving. At 7a someone used a roomkey to walk in on my daughters. No wifi or coffee maker as advertised.Orange liquid oozed out of bathroom floor. We checked out after onenight as my husband became ill from the mold. My card was charged thefull 4 nights the day after we checked out and I still have not receivedmy refund.

Review 77：The hotel used to be a Hilton 30 years ago so the rooms are decent sized. But they have not been updated in years and have stained carpeting, filthy walls and left over linens and towels.

Review 78：The hotel has very poor wifi connections. It only offers the bare necessities, i.e., no conditioner, no hair dryer, no in-room coffee maker, etc. The rooms are very dark with low wattage lamps.

Security - 3-5 doors don't lock so anyone can come in to hotel. Bottom floor rooms windows don't open either even if you were trying to air out your room from the mold.

Review 93：the housekeeping service was.. forgetful. I think the room was serviced only four times in the entire 17 day stay. BUT, when they did the job, it was done right. The MET is in transition- appears to have some issues with basic hotel necessities. Most places offer breakfast now, but they don't. However, coffee was 24 hours. Also the sundries shop was limited for hours- only 5pm to 10pm.

The manager did not return my calls. Still waiting for my first night to be refunded. I would have left to find another a hotel but the town was booked. Review 107：My concerns with the cleanliness come from check-in. I got there and my original room was not ready. Went back to the front desk and received another room immediately. However there was mold in the corners of the showers that made me quite hesitant.

Review 109：The doors were kept open (probably due to the renovation work) which made the hallways VERY cold. The pool was very warm and clean the first day we arrived. They must have had a lot of guests use the pool because the next day the pool water was cloudy. Guests threw their used towels everywhere even though a hamper was provided.

Two ice machnes in hall, near room out of order for three days. We travel to the area several times a year for a week or two and would think twice about staying again....

Review 133：Disgusted by the lack of cleanliness and housekeeping. The room was filthy. There was hair in the sink, a used candy wrapper in the bed sheets, meaning that they did not change sheets in between guests. Another client warned us that there were bed bugs in their room. Staff was not friendly. When we complained about the sheets, they said they were not sure if anyone was there to come clean the room. We at that point asked for a new room-still not clean. Advertise free Wi-Fi, connection was terrible. I would never, ever book again.
