Reviews for Shaza Al Madina

Review 1:None

Review 2:Very close to the Masjid and only a few minutes walk. The rooms were very spacious and the beds comfortable, was upgraded to a suite as we arrived very early so our designated rooms weren't ready. Quality and variety of breakfast was excellent, though had to wait a little as very busy right after Fajr. Food court behind hotel so several alternative food options available for other mealtimes.

Review 3:I had an unexpected welcoming from the receptionists specially Mr. Abdullah, he was kind respectful & that makes me feel comfortable I also enjoyed shaza's dinner I say tnx to mr.abdullah nd all the staff there, it was a great night to me nd my wife. Your efforts are highly appreciated

Review 10:I like everything. The design and the decorations were extremely awesome not to mention the lighting of the hotel and the candles at the reception. The hotel staff is super awesome and friendly and to give special appreciation I would mention Hatem from the reception and Noaman from the food area. The hotel is designed to make you feel completely immersed in the modern islamic look. Food is really good even the room service food is fixed to the highest standards. Thank you so much Shaza for this lovely experience

Review 11:the lack of maintenance. some of the reading lights were broken off completely, the carpets had stains, the lighting in the rooms with only one window was bad and the showers had white stains on the tiles (from the water) that needed to be cleaned with certain cleaners.

Review 27:When we arrived we found out that they booked us same date but next year although I checked booking confirmation and it was this year! So they apologized and upgraded us to a junior suite. Location is 5 minutes away from the holy mosque. Islamic decorations are beautiful. Lastly, the breakfast has various options and delicious.

Review 28:The breakfast service was not as good as Hilton. The food selection was however quite decent. I had to call three times to get my wi fi sorted out. Each time the person said they would call me back but they did not. On the 3rd attempt the issue was resolved

Review 29:The reception and services were good.

Review 30:1. Carpet not clean.2. You said parking onsite, but that not true because there are not enough car park. 3. There is a bad smelling on the floor. 4. Expensive price of rooms. **** Because of that I'm not recommended to anyone booking with Shaza Al Madina.

Review 36:Quality has gone down..they are over booking. When I reached there was no room available. The reception kept us waiting for 2 hrs before giving us the rooms. The room has dirty smell and the carpet was quite dirty. The room had no items in the mini bar, no coffee no tea or sugar and we had to request for it

Review 37:Nothing

Review 38:1) Bad vertical transportation, 2) no 24/7 Restaurant (there is room service though), 3) Requested a car parking but no one bothered to let me know if available or not and 4) Room carpet was not clean!

Review 43:Nice classy hotel. breakfast spread one of the best. proximity to ladies gate.

Review 44:- The power outlet wasn't near the bed. So if my mobile phone rang I had to get out of bed to answer or check the emails/messages. - The carpets require major cleaning. They were clearly stained.

Review 45:- Proximity from the Holy mosque. - The great service level. Everybody seemed eager to help with a genuine smile. - Great breakfast buffet. - Complementary upgrade.

Review 46:Cleaning !! Staff need more education And also the furniture and carpets need to be changed in some places Hotel need services in general to be rhe best

Review 54:The staff was very helpful, courteous and considerate. I would like to mention the reception staff. Specially Mr Hatem. A very polished, friendly and helpful Person. Made my stay worth remembering

Review 55:No parking and difficult to reach the hotel by car due to closed streets They told us on the second day that the room need tone changed due to scheduled repairs but after that they said no need for that since we was checking out next day Need to wait too long for elevators to go down

Review 56:The breakfast was great and it was nice from the hotel that there was Iftar on Arafat day while most Peale were fasting. They offered us an extra bed for free Chocolate coffee and dates on day of Eid after Eid prayers

Review 57:1- only two devices allowed to have free internet even the room is for four persons 2- there are no option for late check out so if you have late plane it will be problem to leave hotel from 2.00 PM

Review 58:1- Staff in Reception very nice 2- Room very wide 3- Room Very Clean

Review 59:The pilgrimages was occupying the lefts at all times which makes me worry before even using them for waiting toooooo long to either get from the GF to the fifth floor or to the other way down, There was many cigarette putts felling the floors which makes it smells very bad. The fact that they don't provide water on every room cleaning and only at the time of checking in. It's absolutely far from 5 stars hotel. The carpet generally was supper dirty to the point that it's disgusting to walk on it bare footed. The furniture is too old and very much used.

Review 60:The fact that it's very closed to the Prophet Mohammad salla Allah Alayhe Wasallam and the staff was very much welcoming and had a good hospitality, As I waited for my pre reserved room, it wasn't ready upon my arrival but the receptionist man was generous enough to give me higher grade room at the same rate that I paid, I like the verity of the breakfast.

Review 61:Late getting the suite at 8:00pm A lot of things missing in the suite as tooth brush and soap No iron in the suite The price is too expensive

Review 62:The room provided was not like one was requested , I request room with 3 beds they provided the 2 rooms with king bed and they ask for extra money in breakfast for the 5th person as he is not included in the booking according to them!! I asked to refresh my room twice no body came and every time they just apologized without sending anybody

Review 63:I would rather pay more than to stay there again they have an unperffetional staff. 1. the rooms was not like what I have booked 2. I had to move from my room because the room next to me were smoking (argila) 3. I had to work like a plumber in the middle of the night to have a shower 4. the tell you every thing in the mini fridge is free (nothing is in the mini fridge) 5. the room that I moved into had wooden windows (so noses from outside did not let me sleep) 6. no thin pillows to sleep on

Review 64:1. That it is so close to the mosque 2. the building still is beautiful 3. They are trying hard to keep it clean 4. The food is excellent 5. Indoor car parking

Review 65:We arrived late around 7PM yet the suite was not ready. We were not served anything or offered an explanation of the delay. After a 1 hour wait at the reception, it was finally ready but it was the filthiest suite I've ever been to in my life. The carpet and sofa were dirty, wet and the smell was awful. The only lighting at the sitting room was controlled via a dimmer the is too noisy and no matter how high you set it it is still very dark. Windows are painted shut and we were forced to endure the smell. We contacted the reception and they refused to changed the room because there were no vacancies, and they sent house keeping instead. He was nice and apologized for the condition of the room saying it was Hajj season and this is to state of their hotel during Hajj. The next day Management called and apologized again offering a free fruit basket and promising a free upgrade on our next stay (as if I'll visit them again willingly). And by the way, you are offered a couple of mineral water bottles free of charge on the first night only and you have to pay for water after that. We even had to ask for the "complementary" water and tea (one red Lipton bag only and 3 green tea bags :)). My final advice: steer clear of this so called 5-star hotel unless under threat of death or bodily harm, and only if it is at least months away from Hajj season. This is my first bad review in my life, but I felt compelled to write it. My contact details are available with both the hotel and booking.com for verification. However, I will not change a word of my review. And by the way, my stay was 1 month before Hajj, not immediately before or after Hajj. So, Hajj is not an excuse. even if it was during Hajj, is this the way a 5-star hotel treats its guests the Hajjis? Yours, Mohammad

Review 88:Near to alharam excellent service and staff especially the receptionist abdulrahman gave us help and advice regarding everything we needed during our stay. There is nearby pharmacy and mini market.

Review 89:Couldnt access our rooms till about 5 hours later. They said we came too early. That we needed to book an extra day to sync with our early arrival if we needed to access our rooms upon arrival.

Review 90:Location is the only thing that attracted us to the hotel.

Review 91:The cleanness of the carbet was really bad. The minibar bar was empty and the reception staff do not answer the phone.

Review 92:Design, near to the holy mosque, and luxury.

Review 93:When I call room service no one Response when I checked in I got the room at 5:00pm which should be at 3:00pm. the elevator is too slow I felt waste the time. no room Al Haram view

Review 94:Location,room design,

Review 95:The hotel was very elegant , everyone of the staff where very friendly, warm, smiling, & welcoming. Thank you so much. I had a very pleasant vacation at Shaza & look forward to the next visit

Review 96:It was the high season and pre paid room and I got stuck on the dirtiest place i ever seen .Stain AC and lights switches. Stained carpet And bathroom wall. Dirty windows.all this was nothing to what was under the couch seat cushion . There were hair, dirty tissue ,crumbs of bread, paper.i called the night shift house keeping supervisor to re clean the room under his supervision.next day they clean the carpet stain as possible. the house keeping super visor was keen to check the room cleaning every day after that. The food looked good but I was worried from trying any cold dishes after what I saw in the room .

Review 97:Location - decoration-

Review 98:The room I was given needed some attention Carpet had stains on them, bathroom decor and shower door needed some repairs

Review 99:It is close to the haram sharif. spacious area with the kids

Review 100:Cleanliness is an issue. Housekeeping is below standard. Carpet condition and other fittings are poor. Don't pay for breakfast during Ramadan because the facility can't occupy hotel guests. We got refused entry at the restaurant both times we tried !!!!! What a shame ! They didn't even consider repaying us our money.

Review 101:Location is close to Haram

Review 102:All services bad , no body answer if you call reciption or laundry or operator also they didnt give recipt when i pay in check in full amount , when i check out they ask me to pay more 1000 SR for room charge !! And a/c too bad they bring to me small a/c temporary that you put inside water to be coldl

Review 104:I can not believe this hotel is a five star. The room was filthy, the furniture is broken and windows are dusty I could hardly see out side.

Review 105:Location only

Review 106:Too small Elevators (4 to 5 people). Limited serving capacity at restaurant during Ramadan or peak hours. Old Carpets need replacement. Problem with A/C. Poor service.

Review 110:Booked through Booking. Com with a confirmation but about three staff(2at the reception and 1 in the reservation office)refused to check me insaying I had no booking/it was cancelled. With patience andperseverance, I was finally checked in by a nice staff,Umar who, upon myenquiry, confirmed that my reservation was in the system as confirmedall along. This is a place I have chosen to stay in the last four years. It's a bad experience for me and gives me a negative impression ofAdil and Amr of the reception dept who refused to look into myComplaints and kept me waiting in this Holy month of Ramadan for almost3 hours feeling rejected and unattended to.Except for this, Al Shaza iscertainly a place to stay and I look forward to coming back again andagain in shaa Allah.

Review 111:Proximity to the mosque and cleanliness of the room

Review 112:Their was a really bad smells, when u enter in the room. Carpets were dirty. In the booking they mention 1 big size bed, but they ve joined 2 beds together. I complained but nothing worked. Just they put quilt and cover with bed sheet. Paying that much amount does not worth at all.

Review 113:The only thing I'd say is that the free wifi is limited to certain devices so make sure you ask them how many devices you are allowed to connect BEFORE connecting them. It is hard to switch between those connected devices.

Review 114:I loved the upscale design of Shaza. This hotel has a unique style and design that oozed luxury. Spending time in Medinah is supposed to be a spiritual time and going back to a lovely hotel was the cherry on top.

Review 115:The corridors and the rooms are very poorly lit and presents a very gloomy environment . The carpet is old, soiled and stinky. The housekeeping staff is not sufficiently trained. He washed the tea mugs in the bathroom and used a discarded dirty towel lying on the floor to clean the crockery. Was caught on the spot and apologized. Everyday had to request for toiletries

Review 116:Location. Location. Location. The lay out is good . Buffet breakfast is well layed out and has sufficient variety.

Review 117:-Shower is broken -Room dine in menu is missing - using my work email while I notified the reception to use the personal

Review 118:-location is amazing -staff very friendly and helpful

Review 119:I was told there is lounge , normally in 5 star hotel , you get bevereges& snacks at the lounge , but here you will pay ???!!! I was surprised

Review 120:I liked the location , breakfast , staff at the buffet

Review 121:Carpets could be cleaner than what we found.

Review 122:Ideal location. Friendly staff. Informed them 10 min before arrival. Found my room and card keys ready in my hand immediately I got there.

Review 123:Room Service was poor. Bathroom was not clean. They don't clean the room, they just make it up. ALSO, I tried 2 rooms and bath had leaks causing the water to spread from the shower area to the rest of the bath room.

Review 124:Front Desk Staff, especially Mr. Hatem & Mr. Riyadh, were very professional and supportive. The Breakfast was awesome and a real value for money and the Restaurant staff were "Masters" in Care and Customer Service

Review 125:The hotel elevators need maintenance and improvement The hotel needs renovation Breakfast is always busy with difficulty to get seats

Review 126:Location is very good Staff were helpful Check-in and Check-out was efficient

Review 127:Well i think the furniture is a bit old. If it was newer a will defenatly rate this hotel as excellent

Review 128:-Location -staff and service -breakfast -check in/out -free wifi - what in fridge were complementry (free) - free water any time

Review 129:The breakfast is crowded, but this is expected in such a bigh piligrim season

Review 130:Extremely great location just few steps from the mosque. Front desk team are courteous and welcoming and front desk manager is extremely helpful! Rooms are luxurious and equiped with nice amenities Excellent view from the executive suit to the mosque entrance The interior design of the hotel is attractive

Review 131:Long process during check in. I could not believe that big Hotel took time for check in. They run out of roll paper in credit card machine. We had to wait more than 30 mnts for them to find the paper while we arrived mid night and tired.

Review 132:Location close to the mosque.

Review 133:Horrible experience, we waited almost 6 hours for check in due to poor staff management and they were not honest with the regard to the hotel occupancy

Review 134:due to low quality of staff , I did not enjoy anything in this hotel

Review 135:Room service very slow also you need to be careful food is not fresh rather they reheated !!! Unfortunatly it seems the hotel had bad experince with some guests related to payments. Therefore, they are handling everyone negatively !!

Review 136:Comfortable and quit place.

Review 137:When I arrived the lock on the door wasn't working . I arrived at around 7:30 pm and didn't get the lock on room 1001 to work until 12:00 am. At that time the whole family was squished in the other room 1000 we had booked for my parents which was a 2 persons bedroom. Also room 1001 there was broken glass on the floor . As for room 1000 I opened the fridge and there was no water . When I asked why they said they didn't finish cleaning the room . We had to ask for the slippers for both rooms . The hotel is amazing but my experience wasn't so great . I requested from the reception staff to be compensated for the first night and no one did anything about it . I would recommend this place to others but I wouldn't come there again because I didn't have a good experience and no one made it up for me I felt I deserve another weekend free of charge in the hotel since neither my parents or I were comfortable about spending the first day squished in the small room with kids and luggage. One more small thing . In the breakfast buffet the juice section had orange juice and the sign on it said "fresh orange juice" it wasn't fresh !

Review 138:The breakfast buffet had everything . The beds in the 3 persons room were big . Anytime I requested anything it came to my room very fast.

Review 139:الهدمة سيئة جدا يستغرق الكثير من الوقت لكل شيء، والنظافة سيئة مثل دورة المياه و الأرضية

Review 140:The decoration of the islamic heritage and the location of the hotel

Review 141:Reception staff should be more trained to be speaking in english and reception staff was low. Should be increased.

Review 142:Its near to the holy mosque of prophet mohammad pbuh which makes this place ideal to stay.
