Review 1：first wen i got there they didn't have my reservation I show them my confirmation form booking.Com and they still couldn't find myname plus I had to take a next room instead of wat I ask for an still charge me full price of a king room the WiFi was the worst I couldn't get my work done I ask to make a phone call I was told that they don't allow overseas call I said u have guest staying here if we have an emergency wat are we to do she jus look at me an said I don't know I am not happy at all

Review 3：Relationship with sister hotel was not a good experience. Went for a drink no facilities to pay because staff had no till to Take my cash. Poor experience for me.Accept this is mainly all inclusive.

Review 5：Rooms with all the crooked fittings and dirt in tiles and filled seams in bathroom that has never been cleaned. Gym not fit for humans, filthy, AC hanging of wall in bits, broken saddle on bike and broken weight bar, TV removed, walls badly stained. No disinfected wipes, no water, no towels. Bar completely dated as was the barnan, no interest in clients and that and the restaurant closed before 23:00 hours. This is supposed to be a vacation. No bars or restaurants anywhere in the vicinity. Trees so dense you have no view. One pool cracked and dirty. Food dreadful unhealthy menus.. Service at the speed of a tortoise. Dreadful place should not be permitted to stay open.

Review 9：When we returned to our room and found alot of water all over the floor I called but another person was on duty and mentioned a mop but no one ever came. We were tired so we didnt call back.We just tip toe around.

Review 10：Staff member cody did an excellent job. The room was clean except the leaking or plumbing problem that had the floor full of water. Also the surroundings were pretty.

Review 11：We arrived late and the only dinner option was their 7 option "buffet" for $45CAD each! Our king size bed was so hard- we had a terrible sleep for four nights! I always hesitate to have our rooms made up and when we asked to have our floor swept while we were gone, coffee mugs that I brought from home were nowhere when we got back. The front desk was not very helpful in locating them. We had a half bag of clothes to launder and they charged me a whopping $260CAD! Everytime I went to the restaurant, there were a number of staff standing around and I still had to ask for service. This hotel was terrible with their " not my problem" attitude. They definitely ruined whatever good thing we have to say about Barbados.

The restaurant food is poor to shocking and needs to be address unless they are trying to encourage locals only but warmed up tinned bully beef is not cuisine ? WIFI never seems to work. To eat you need to leave the hotel so if you a late arrival early departure its and inconvenience

Review 19：We stayed at this hotel 3 years prior and we enjoyed our stay so when we decided to travel to Barbados we decided to stay here again. But we did not like it this time around. The rooms were downgraded and we did not like the new look. The rooms were very basic, we requested to upgrade to another type of room but we were informed all the rooms are the same and the only difference are the bed sizes. I also requested a refund to check into another hotel but I was advised to speak to booking, I login into my booking account but I did not get a telephone number to speak to someone. We requested another room with a smaller bed since we could not get a refund to leave. The room was smaller and the room condition was a bit better. Even though the price is really good the hotel needs to be upgraded because there are other hotel with similar prices in the area in much better condition. What I also noticed is that the corridors and stairway to the rooms were never cleaned so it looked really dirty all the time. Therefore maintenance is lacking in this hotel as well.

Review 20：We had a late flight and requested late check out, we were allowed to stay in the room until 1pm and they offered us a room to shower and change just before we departed for the airport.

Review 21：They had tons of ants all over the room and I had some in my bed. They had no microwave. When you checked in the man at the desk was rude. They have a specific day for your linen to be washed (it's not everyday like most). Even though they were paid in mostly USD they refused to give you any in change even though they'd be getting the same amount back.

Review 23：Its not that I didn't like the hotel, this is more an observation. The room did not have any information on the hotel (amenities, extension numbers to reach depts, etc.). We found out about the sister (bigger) hotel, from Concierge, which is 2 doors down on the same street a few days before we left.

Review 25：On arrival busted safe in room, no lock for safe , no microwave, had to request for Microsoft received one 2/3 days later. No iron or ironing board had to walk around in wrinkles clothing for four days.thanks to the cleaning lady and the clerk at the front desk on duty on the morning of 04/08/15 . together they gave me their work and followed up on their word in less than 10 minutes, in finding me an iron.

Review 26：Door lock/ key card faulty and ecpected to call staff every time we needed to access our room. We did get shifted thankfully. Expected to pay extra to have access to a safe in our room? Not good enough. No fresh drinking water provided.

Review 31：I was very impressed with the staff and the cleanliness of our room and the entire facility. The sister hotel set up a special table for us for our party of eight and even the lady at the pool made a great gin and tonic. Fabulous time there!

Review 36：“We don’t trust you!!” – Restaurant Superintendent.First and foremast, Barbados is paradise, filled with great people and great sites. The speed of the island is very simple to explain, Bajans are geared only for two speeds, slow and slower. With slower being the normal. This is known as “The Bajan Equation” it’s a great equation to run except when you need an ambulance and it takes 2 hours to arrive. The island also has many issues including poor management or as one Bajan said “BAD MANAGEMENT”. We witnessed this throughout our 650 kms of driving the entire island. Many resorts, abandoned and crumbling into the beautiful Caribbean Sea. No Problem as many will say.The Sunbay resort, a fantastic place to stay if you are able to fend for yourself, mechanically inclined and able to adapt to any issue that’s thrown in front of you. An example of this is the ‘toilet trick”, the toilet runs constantly with double the pressure of the shower head! But there is a trick to it, FLUSH the toilet, HOLD DOWN FOR 3 seconds, release and place the lever in the halfway position and hold for another 4.5 seconds to 6 seconds and release and this should stop the problem.The hotel is perfectly situated across from a brand new gentlemen’s club named the Dark Horse! Been open about 6 or 7 months and business appears to be booming from what we experienced. Jamaicans, Brazilians and a little bit of everything in between. The music is loud all night long (you can hear it everywhere within the hotel and rooms which is GREAT! You can see the girls leaving the club between 4 and 6 am depending on the night, so that’s a bonus if you’re traveling in search of some action after hours’!The hotel’s pool is quite nice, little dangerous at night as the lighting shuts off and creates a completely dark courtyard.

Review 39：Wifi was unreliable and this made it difficult to work efficiently when I was not at the office since my trip was fundamentally for business. Please do not advertise the hotel as having a gym. THAT is NOT a gym, nor is the facility that's located on the sister property. There is only ONE restaurant which does not have many options and the food is too expensive for what you actually get. Regarding the room itself, there were 2 tiny bars of soap, NO lotion, NO shampoo or conditioner.

Review 42：Restaurant staff were really cheerful, attentive and helpful. The two pools were nice with a shallow side for little ones and a deeper pool for adults which joined in the middle with a wooden bridge.

Review 43：They did have a tenancy to nickel and dime you to death when it came to the food and drinks. The selections were basic and minimal for both. The drinks and food were expensive and the drinks were watered down and came in tiny cups. They were not accommodating nor flexible for late departure flights. Me and the group I came with didn't have to be at the airport until midnight and while they did allow us access to the pool, they would not give us access to a shower or a place to take a nap. If you asked the staff for something like bread for your fish cakes, their response was "I have to ask my supervisor" and the answer was typically, "no" unless you were willing to pay extra.

Review 44：The room was clean and comfy. It had everything you needed for a vacation stay like a fabulous pool, an amazing beach directly across the street, fast WiFi everywhere on property, wasn't crowded with guests, easy access to standard meals,busses, taxis, St Lawrence Gap, Oistin,and semi accommodating staff and the cost was affordable for the most part.

Review 45：Even though their policy states a free bed for extra adult they were trying to charge me. After 5 mins negotiating and providing a copy of the policy they finally honour their policy

Review 51：Tools and pool test kit with chemicals were left poolside at a table, a safety risk. While my fiance' and I are from Barbados, most of the visitors were from overseas and there is no concierge, tour desk or anything to let visitors know how to get out and explore Barbados. We gave simple advise to visitors who were there during our stay, and they were extremely grateful- there is very little in the immediate location of the hotel and only printed material for guests to gain information from. The Wi-Fi strength was too weak for online activity in the rooms.

Review 56：We had a flight delay from Bequia and didn't get to Barbados until after 12a. After a bad cellphone connection led to 3 bad contact attempts, I emailed the property. They actually "walked" us to the Beach Club hotel that was right on the beach.

Review 57：Staff are generally ok but there is not on site shop, no entertainment, just a sad feeling place. It probably could change over night if it had a few tweaks. The roof mounted air conditioning produces a constant low rumble in the top floor suites.

Review 59：Had a problem at times with shower pressure. Handle came off the shower faucet and it took 2 phone calls and a visit to reception and 12 hours for it to be fixed. The largest part of the swimming pool was only 2 ft deep so was a kids pool. The other deeper pool was half the size.

Review 60：Nice pool area ... Plenty of sun beds and a few tables and chairs around the pool. Pool furniture all brand new. Room was spacious. Large balcony overlooking the pool. Large bathroom with easy walk in shower. Queen size bed was comfortable. Large wardrobe space. Staff at breakfast were efficient and friendly.

Review 61：I asked for early checkin, and a certain floor. Non of my request was honored. However, I was given a room on the ground floor to the side of some storage, chairs and tables were stacked up. I did not complain. However when I tried to close the screen door since I was on the ground floor it could not close. I called the front desk and said that this was a security risk since I was on the ground floor. A maintenance personal was there within minutes. However it could not be repaired. I was promised to be moved. I was given what I requested in the first place. The room was very good and comfortable. I had to pay for the room safe. This should be free. The refrigerator did not have even a bottle of water. I had to request a beach towel. Nothing to eat after 10:00pm.

Review 62：Location, easy access to taxi since they are just across the street. Short walk to public transportation. Close to the airport, the city,St. Lawrence Gap and a short walk to Ointsin. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. Clean room. I will stay again if things change just a little bit

Review 65：most of the reception staff were great, there was however a mix up with an older man over a reservation at a restaurant and one young women was not very helpful at all when she informed us she would not accept our bank of scotland notes to change to dollars.

Review 66：the room was spacious and very clean, the cleaners did a great job. the location was very central, you could catch a bus at the back of the hotel for 2 dollar and it only took 5 minutes to reach both oistins and st lawrences gap.

Again, not much time spent in the room. Most lunch and dinner was done in Oistens, St. Lawrence Gap, Bridgetown or at relatives house.

Review 70：On arrival I was unsure of my choice but it was the best choice for us. It was very clean, the staff was extremely helpful and very nice. It was directly across from Maxwell beach and minutes from Oistens home of the famous fish market which jumping all night. Two pools. We plan on going back next year and will stay at sunbay again

Review 75：After flying in from UK all we wanted was a relaxing evening and a nice meal. The man on reception took our money and gave us the room key. There was nobody to help with our luggage. We were told the restaurant and bar were closed but we could eat at a sister resort over the road. One of the reasons we chose Sunbay was because there was a restaurant. We were tired and have slight mobility problems and having to walk out to get something to eat was the last thing we needed. We had a main course each and 1 glass of wine, paid the extremely high price and walked back and went to bed. We cannot comment on any of the other facilities but from our experience we would not recommend Sunbay.

Review 76：It was not beachfront and there was not an easy way to access the beach (had to enter through another hotel). There was not very much life to the hotel. The restaurant was dead and the menu was nothing special. There weren't any other restaurants around but I would suggest looking into one before your stay.

Review 82：The restaurant was closed at it was refurbished and they failed to mention it during the booking. We could use the restaurant from the other hotel (on the other side of the road which was a fair deal) only the drill noise in the morning was rather annoying.

Review 83：The location is just perfect. Close to Oistins and St Lawrence Gap, you have the beach just across the road and easy access to the local buses. The hotel is rather big and the room was clean and cosy.

Review 84：Restaurant was closed so had to use the hotel across the road. There is no laundry service. The shower was faulty as there was water coming from the bath and shower end; therefore, water filled in the bath whilst showering. The room was not sprayed with mosquito repellant by house keeping so Mosquitos were a problem at night. The TV wasn't clear (signal problems). There was a burst water main so couldn't shower in hotel (but was able to use the hotel across the roads facilities) The right hand pool seemed cleaner than left left hand pool which prevented me from using this facility. There was no iron in the room but there was an ironing board. The room swipe key stopped working numerous times.

Review 85：The staff were friendly and attentive and all problems were quickly rectified. E.g. A new shower tap was fitted, the room was deep cleaned mosquito repellent was used, an engineer came to fix the tv and we managed to borrow an iron from reception. The hotel is central to St Lawrence gap and oistins which is a bonus. Another bonus is the fact that the beach is across the road from the hotel as are numerous taxis. For the money and the fact that the hotel was booked last minute I am quite happy with the overal service.

Review 86：The hotel was quite far from town and the area I had plans to go do what I travelled for. Having to walk out to take a bus was the only stress I couldn't wait to end.

Review 90：Travelled as a group of 6 females occupying 3 rooms. Broken phone in 1 room, therefore we could not make calls between rooms. Broken toilet seat in 1 room that took over 24 hours to be fixed. Mouldy smelly room - had to reject first allocated room, 2nd room also smelly. Reported a cockroach in room - Staff left bug killing spray on our dressing table for us to deal with it our self. Cold to lukewarm low pressured dribbling shower. Two personally owned wash cloths removed from our room and not returned (The hotel did not provide washcloths and staff would have known that they were not hotel property). Reported this to the management and they were not returned. Small guest towels provided instead of bath towels. The towels could not wrap around my UK dress size 12 body). Although fridge, microwave and kettle was listed as being in each room, we had to ask the receptionist to supply us with these items to our rooms. Had to walk to sister hotel up the road for restaurant - poor quality food from the restaurant and when we complained the staff just looked surprised, rolled their eyes and walked off.
