Reviews for Big Horn Motel

Review 1:It is located next to a bar that was having an Octoberfest party and they were noisy until 2:30am in the morning between the music and the loud voices.

Review 2:I liked everything about it including the art, the nearby creek, the owner and the cleanliness

Review 3:I did not have a bad experience. I just feel the motel was highly overrated. Facilities are old with some attempt to update but room size was small and very cramped and the queen bed was not comfortable. The bathroom was quaint but way outdated and the shower looked like something from the 3rd world. Taking all of this into account I would say the facilities were overrated and overpriced. The attempt to provide a microwave and fridge only made things ever more crowded. The place needs an entire overhaul.

Review 4:The location was good. Easy to find. Everything was very clean and there was a concerted effort to make the grounds look nice with flowers etc.

Review 5:The bathroom was really small, but that wasn't too big of a deal for me (though it did make getting dressed a challenge). Also, there really wasn't any type of breakfast (again, not a big deal, but more of a heads up for others staying here).

Review 6:Everything was clean and the beds were comfy! It was also a great price for 3 beds! The hostess was very nice and made arrangements so we could check in late at night (she also made fresh baked chocolate chip cookies in the morning to take when we checked out!!! Yum!)

Review 7:Very pretty place! The manager was very helpful, responsive to request for heat despite summer warmth (we had been chilled riding motorcycles). Breakfast was great & home made!!

Review 8:This was such a lovely place to stay - we had a verandah outside our room under a big tree where we could sit and enjoy a wine ! The owner was so nice and made us feel so welcome .

Review 9:Bed was directly under the air conditioner unit; unfortunately fan only had one speed "loud" and that made sleeping uncomfortable.

Review 10:Trudy was a great host, she easily accommodated a room change request. Stay late in the morning for her fresh cookies :-)

Review 11:Very tiny and very old remodeled location. New paint doesn't fix things. Having to check out at 10 am is ridiculous. No breakfast or anything and they charge the same as much nicer motels.

Review 12:When I arrived, the lady over charge for the stay. Then charges $200 for room damages, because I touch up my hair color in the sink. I did get color on one of the towels, but did clean well.

Review 13:The shower was terrible. The water temp fluctuated severely. I actually got burned. The shower drain was way lower than the shower floor and it was hard to stand in. The shower itself was elf size.

Review 14:I loved the location . It was within walking distance from shopping, restaurants and hiking. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The artwork was unique.

Review 15:We stayed there going to Yellowstone park. Our family stayed one day there 3 days ago. I am some sensitive to odor. Strange room's odor made me sick up to now. At first we thought its odor would be disappeared by running AC. But it wasn't. At night, We tried to talk to host for changing the room, but we cannot do it because office was closed after 10PM.

Review 16:Kindness and cleanness

Review 17:Very dated motel. But not a big deal if you are just passing through.

Review 18:Trudy the owner and front desk person is a kick! She is very helpful for suggestions and really wants you to joy the area. She made homemade apple muffins for breakfast and had fresh fruit and brewed coffee.

Review 19:The hotel is 20 yards from a pristine creek, the rooms were immaculately clean and the lady at the front desk noticed i was military and gave me a discount! Great stay!

Review 20:The owner/manager Trudy was very friendly! Recommended a place for supper. Room was comfortable and quiet. Close walk to Main Street. This will be a regular stop for my trips south.

Review 21:We were just traveling through in the way to Yellowstone and were pleasantly surprised by the Big Horn Motel. Happy to find the room clean and with several amenities for a great value. Also the owner is amazing! So sweet and you have to have the blackberry oatmeal bars she makes!

Review 22:Poor value for what it was. Out dated in every way, Poor bedding, no breakfast offered. Should have stayed closer to I-90 and the newer, better appointed hotels I saw when leaving the next morning.

Review 23:Staff was friendly, it was clean.

Review 24:Shower head was very low, I am 5'8" and had to bend down to wash my hair.

Review 25:room rate was reasonable, our room was clean. Nice place to stay for one night while traveling.

Review 26:Extra $10 per night per pet not listed on the website People on either side of my room seemed to live there.

Review 27:Microwave and fridge in the room Comfortable bed Walking trail for my dog right across the street Pet friendly

Review 28:The air conditioner didn't work very well, and the filter needed to be cleaned. The shower was tiny, and looked like it was cracked at the bottom.

Review 29:The desk clerk was friendly and helpful. The price was well below most of the motels in town. This is a mom-and-pop type of motel--NOT impersonal and cookie-cutter.

Review 30:No complaints!!

Review 31:The fact that, though small & cozy, the lighting was great, and the amenities were all there--frig, microwave, internet, coffee in room, and the owner was helpful & very personable. The room was exceptionally clean.

Review 32:Everytime the office front door opened, which from 7am was every few minutes, a bell went off in the owners room next door which was easily heard in my room, so much for a sleep in! Request a room as far from the office as possible. Shower old an tiny but adequate.

Review 33:Nice owner comfortable room and good location. Great chinese/ thai restaurant nearby!

Review 34:Thought I was going to have bathtub. Took the higher price room because it showed a tub. Was looking forward to a long bath after being in the forest for 4days with no running water.

Review 35:The Wifi was dodgy. But this is due a faulty router which is being replaced.

Review 36:Trudy Schoonover, the proprietor, greets you personally when you arrive. She is an artist and has decorated the office with examples of her pottery, prints and watercolors, many of which are for sale. There was fresh Hummingbird cake and fruit to enjoy in the morning.

Review 37:This was the smallest room I have ever stayed in. The building is so old it smells like someone's ancient grandmother lives there. The bed was awful (hard). The walls are thin and I could hear the people talking and their tv next door.

Review 38:The outside looks very nice with flowers and garden.

Review 39:That we couldn't stay longer...

Review 40:Cleanliness!! Comfortable mattresses! Spacious room with working airconditioner and refrigerator!! Lovely artwork! Charming outside patioswith table & chairs! Friendly, sympatico service! Good parking! Thelocation! The price!

Review 41:No shampoo provided, soap provided was too little. Air conditioning was really loud but if we didn't have it on, the parking lot was so close to the room that people coming and going (even though they were quiet) would wake us up.

Review 42:The staff/owner were great, rooms were clean and comfortable. Good location. Very quiet neighborhood and town.

Review 43:The internet was a little bit spotty, but still functional. Bring your own toiletries.

Review 44:The staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly. We were due to arrive after the designated check in time, and when I called they were right on top of it and made sure we could get into our room. There were fresh baked snacks in the morning, along with fruit and coffee. It is obvious that the owners are actively trying to improve, because they had made recent changes to the available television channels and asked for any feedback that might help.

Review 45:The place could be updated. The shower head was harsh and could not be changed to be softer.

Review 46:The rooms were nice and homey. There was coffee inthe room and a fridge and microwave.

Review 47:Bed was just OK, but I still managed to sleep well.

Review 48:Friendly owner/staff who accommodated our late check-in graciously. Clean, newly renovated bathroom. Coffee and (a very good) coffee cake for breakfast and a great breakfast spot in easy walking distance in the lovely village of Buffalo.

Review 49:The carpet needed to be changed; but. more like, if it was my place, i would do...

Review 50:distance to downtown, Buffalo, Wy: shops, churches, museum, etc. The artwork and general artsy feel to the motel. Breakfast coffee and goodies.

Review 51:Nothing

Review 52:Most polite managers/owner we met during our 3 week travel experience. Very loved and well taken care of! Anyone should be happy to stay here!

Review 53:This is an old hotel. If you are passing through like we were, it would be ok. No breakfast, pool, exercise equipment on property.

Review 54:Staff was friendly and helped in suggesting restaurants in the area.

Review 55:Sad the Internet was down, but not the propriator's fault.

Review 56:The eclectic nature of the motel. Loved the kindness of the staff and the interesting surroundings.

Review 57:The room at a small air conditioner with the high temps of that day it had a hard time cooling the entire room a ceiling fan would have helped

Review 58:The owner was a very good host,we rode in on our motorcycles it was 96 degree she had a cold glass of ice water for us at the desk, later gave us water melon and home made cake.Great water pressure in room

Review 59:Very tiny bathroom with barely enough room to turn around. Not enough outlets. Fridge was plugged into same outlet as wall light so impossible to have light off and fridge running at the same time.

Review 60:Very friendly staff. Homelike atmosphere. Large family room with 3 queen beds. Lovely walking trail located behind motel along the river. Walking distance to downtown.

Review 61:It was really hard to find after dark. Call for directions
