Reviews for Wangthong Hotel
Review 1:There are many hotels by the border, but this one has a swimmingpool. But we could not use the swimmingpool, no maintenance, very dirty. The room was not clean. The shower was very bad.
Review 2:Very close to the border with good parkplace
Review 3:Free wifi is a joke. Even though there are routers in the hallways the staff stated the wifi would only work in the lobby and you had to find the area that it might work.
Review 4:Location was good and easy to find.
Review 5:The hotel gives the impression of doubtful cleanliness. The restaurantwas big and empty. Breakfast unappealing. Staff, so so. But for $ 26 youcan't expect much. We just stayed one night as we did not want to beon the road to Chiang Mai and arrive after sundown.
Review 6:The location. We just crossed fro Myanmar by foot and there, across thestreet was the hotel. No need to take a taxi. The price.
Review 7:Stayed x10 days!! No hot water - despite x3 requests - day 1 no hot water and electric shower broken!! Moved to double room , which is what we booked from a twin - electric shower intermittent . No wi-Fi in our room!! Reception - unhelpful - rest were great!! Bar -only beer or full bottle of wine or bottle of whisky !!
Review 8:Good sized rooms - great views over Mayanmar
Review 9:Staff are not too smiley or welcoming, no kettle in the room, you have to go downstairs and collect hot water in your own cup - then take it to your floor - it becomes tepid and spilled. Food is not delicious.
Review 10:Very good position if you need the border or the market. Good beds, free parking.
Review 11:It's like they know one only wants to stay here to cross the border. There is no attempt to make this place hospitable and no need to be friendly! It is what it is... A border crossing!
Review 12:Right next to the border
Review 13:Overall the hotel is looking pretty tired and could do with a make over.
Review 14:Typical old style hotel, rooms are pretty average but comfortable enough for short stay. The staff are very helpful and the breakfast was surprisingly good and secure parking nearby in the hotels car park, the hotel is probably the closest hotel to the border so makes for easy crossing.
Review 15:It was freezing and a kettle in the room would have been nice for a cup of tea. Wi-Fi is not connecting to the hotel, but fortunately it had connected to some nearby network and we were able to use the mobile. No safe in the room, but they offer to use their safe at the reception.
Review 16:This is a huge hotel almost at the border of Burma, very convenient for people who seek visa or visit Myanmar. It is looking tired and has the 70s grandeur, which was typical of Soviet or Chinese hotels. You can see far into Burma from the balcony, the room is comfortable enough, water in the shower is hot, there is a little fridge in the room. I can't imagine people stay for longer than 1-2 nights and it is perfectly adequate.
Review 17:The wi-fi was not in working order as one would expect in a hotel this size.
Review 18:The location is excellent for border/visa business.
Review 19:Near nyamar border , nite market, lots of food stall n souvenir shop

Review 31:Just in front of the border, bathtub , swimming pool
Review 32:Don't like to take shower in a bathtub ,which the hotel has.
Review 33:Cleanliness and quiet
Review 34:Swimming pool not clean, not filtered or sanitized. I could not have swim after 6 hour trip. I booked mainly because the hotel has pool. :(
Review 35:Location for visa renewal very good. Nearby markets easy walk 1 minute
Review 36:Booked the room for 950 baht. Thought it included breakfast. Had to pay 1050 baht. In room and they said I needed to pay 1150 baht because it was a deluxe room.
Review 37:The shower heater is not working and no kettle boiler in the room. And the interior looks old and make the feel of not really clean.
Review 38:Location is excellent as it is so near the cross over of Myanmar. And the great view of Myanmar. And It's comfort as of the bed.
Review 39:Everything is under standard. The hotel needs a real big renovation. Shower is bad dirty, and hot water is not working. Not worth the money at all, way too expensive.
