Reviews for Usadba Pleshanova
Review 1:was more than adequate for our needs but bed was a little saggy and the curtains were transparent which is not so great for summer in Russia if you like to sleep in the dark. We just rigged up some spare sheets though, so not the end of the world.
Review 2:Easy walk into town, friendly reception staff, quiet, secure, large room, good air conditioning. As other reviewers say, no English spoken but that is one of the charms. There is an English menu in restaurant, but staff there not quite as friendly as front desk. Breakfast is OK, but lots of better options for dinner around the Kremlin. Some reviews mention a children's playground but this could not be found. Rostov probably not the best destination with young kids.
Review 3:Towels not white enough. Large bed is in fact two small beds linked together. No reserve of toilet paper
Review 4:Nice pre-revolution atmosphere in the hotel, great food in the restaurant, kind staff.
Review 5:We couldn't spot the wifi password. The price for Christmas vacations was too high. Мы не смогли найти пароль от Вай-Фая :( И цена на новогодних праздниках оказалась сильно задранной (в два раза выше, чем в обычный будний день и в полтора - чем в обычный выходной).
Review 6:Splendid house at te splendid place! We liked the decoration of corridors (it contained many exibits from 19th century), very tastfull breakfast, comfortable room with soft bad.
Review 7:AVOID the restaurant unless you are prepared for Soviet-style service and quality. Unbelievably rude blonde-haired waitress in the hotel restaurant who actually put her hand on her cheek, rolled her eyes and walked off when we had difficulty communicating what we wanted. Three waitresses in an empty restaurant (my wife and I were the only patrons for dinner) and still the service was appallingly bad with the other 2 waitresses on Facebook using the restaurant TV screen. The food is at best average to below average. There is a restaurant in centre of Rostov (100 metres from the church complex) called "Russkoye Podvorye" at Marshala Alekseeva Street (a pedestrian-only street) which does decent tasty and reasonably-priced food and they are quite helpful. Wifi is painfully slow to use (took me 10 minutes to send one email because it kept on cutting out), water in the bathroom runs hot and cold, heavy cigarette smoke in the public areas and despite paying for parking we did not have a proper parking space one evening because there was a function on. There is no air conditioning (fan only) and mosquitoes can be a problem although the hotel does give guests insect repellent to plug into an electrical outlet.
Review 8:Large room with plenty of space and a refridgerator you can actually use (not full of hotel goods). Interesting historical curiosities in the public areas and a building with character. About one street from the lake and there is a gravel path along the lakeside. Quite a long walk to the main church complex but still within walking distance and the streets near this hotel give an interesting insight into the real world of the average Russian. Rostov is an authentic tRussian own with few foreign tourists.
Review 9:you can hear what your naigbours are doing
Review 10:nice location, close to the center but not in the center… the receptionnist is very nice it's also a calm place
Review 11:Staff is not always polite. Nobody in hotel tells " Hello!", " Good bye!", " Sorry!"....No one offers apologies even for mistakes like dirty teapot or tainted salad, or lack of towel...It's not good for hotel's reputation.
Review 12:Very nice furniture in hotel ! Feel like in real ancient house. Delicious menu in restaurant . Good hotel's location in town.
Review 13:- parking costs 100 RUB/day - not much, but I like the price to be transparent - an effing lot of mosquitoes!! No mosquito nets, anti-mosquito plug-ins don't help. - very thin and light curtains, no blindfolds.
Review 14:- nice breakfast - no buffet, but still the choice is wide - friendly staff - the location: five minutes' walk to the Kremlin - parking
Review 15:Breakfast was extremely poor and small quantity. You are entitled only to a cup of bad coffee or a cup of bad tea and you even have to pay for water. Hotel rooms full of mosquitoes.
Review 16:Mosquitoes, because lake is very close. Please be prepared and take some measures before a night.
Review 17:The atmosphere of old house with elements of 18-19th centuries. Cozy yard.
Review 18:The staff at the reception should be a bit more friendly. It was too hot in the attic room where we stayed, and there was no way to turn the heating down (fortunately, we could still open the windows).
Review 19:The hotel is nice and clean, the room is large and comfortable, the breakfast is fairly good and cheap.
Review 20:Yellow water in the bathroom, not good working tv. Last day few localguys come to the hotel restaurant and their behaviour was disgusting andunacceptable for us. We came out to another excellent restaurant.
Review 21:Good and friendly personnel, big room with convenient bed, quitecomfortable. Nice restaurant, but you can find more interesting in thecity centre.
Review 22:the lake was fabulous, town simple and people sweet.
Review 23:No wi-fi
Review 24:Nice place to stay overnight
Review 25:- Restourant cooking could be a bit faster. - Wi-fi isnt working everywhere in hotel.
Review 26:Quiet location, nice rooms, friendly staff.
Review 27:the absence of a hair dryer; the cat's meow in the street at night
Review 28:restaurant, location, good staff
Review 29:Bad internet
