Reviews for Silver Moon Inn

Review 1:Not really an issue but there were too many little couch pillows on the beds. Wi-Fi connection was a little slow but that may be due to the bandwidth being hosed up by all the other hotel guests.

Review 2:The staff at front desk was extremely nice and cordial. Our room was very nice and comfortable. We're locals but it is in an extremely convenient location from the main street which is great for the tourists.

Review 3:We were there for a wedding and we came a couple of days early. My family loved the location of the Inn. It was great you could just walk everywhere shopping or going out to eat.

Review 4:The only problem we had was going up and down the stairs to our second-floor room. Due to our age, 68 and 73, it's difficult with the snow and ice to navigate the stairs safely. If the hotel has not been sold out we would have asked to be placed in a first floor room. One of the employees was nice enough to carry our suitcase up the stairs for us and we really appreciate that.

Review 5:The location was excellent as we wanted to be able to walk from the hotel into town. The staff was wonderful when we had problems with the television connection they immediately came to solve the problem.

Review 6:If the hot tub is going to be open year round it needs to be open and clean. After we got the cover off and figured out how to turn it on it was disgusting how much (what I hope was) algae floated to the top!! Nasty!!!

Review 7:The room was very nice for the money. Beautiful location

Review 8:Carpet was dirty in corners & behind furniture- pieces of food & coffee wrappers. Noisy above us - could hear a dog walking around at night & then early cleaning & vacuuming at 7 am.

Review 9:Great location on river with fire pit & fire features out front. Decent cold breakfast, enough variety to satisfy - not all junk carbs. Close to the main drag & RMNP. Fridge & microwave in room.

Review 10:Estes park is beautiful and the Silver Moon inn gives you a great experience. we loved the staff and it was very cozy to hubble up around the outside fireplaces

Review 11:The breakfast room could be a bit larger

Review 12:Out of the 15 hotels during our trip this has been the best: very friendly staff, nice and comfortable room, excellent location at the Fall river, only minutes away from the center of Estes Park! Just awesome!

Review 13:Breakfast was average. There were some areas of the outside of inn that need to be cleaned up. (Junk was thrown behind the building and at one end)

Review 14:The room was clean and bed was comfortable. The location beside the stream was so peaceful. Staff was very nice.

Review 15:Parking was limited Room was rather dark. Requested 1st floor, got 2nd. Rather noisy walkways and stairs.

Review 16:The location was within easy walk to downtown Estes Park. The stream side seating was a plus. Staff friendly and helpful.

Review 17:The location, overall facilities, and staff were excellent. Our group of four decided the next time we come back, it will still be at Silver Moon, room 117!

Review 18:The shade in the room was ripped, asked for repair or replace, and request was basically ignored. Had to place a towel over it for privacy, not expected this for over $200 a night

Review 19:Location

Review 20:Best location in Estes Park. Only a few minutes' walk to Main Street. Our room was by The Fall River, with a large fire pit outside our door, where we spent the evenings. Large, clean room.

Review 21:One person in our party is unable to take stairs, and our room was booked on the 3rd floor, no elevator, and no available rooms on the first floor. The mistake had been mine for neglecting to verify our need when I made the initial reservation, but regardless, the desk clerk was very empathetic and quickly found us another room at a sister property (with an elevator). While the location was not as ideal (but not bad), the new room was a huge upgrade from what we had reserved, no extra charge. We were very grateful, and very satisfied.

Review 22:Beds weren't the most comfortable

Review 23:I loved that the hotel gave a cabin feel located close to town. My three year old had fun on the property play area while we could take in the serenity of the stream running along side it. Reasonable rate for the quality and experience.

Review 24:Our 3 year old was beyond excited when we pulled in late and instead of having to go sit in the room, got to roast marshmallows and sit by the fire, free of charge :) we loved the idea of coming back with more time and preparedness to enjoy all of the little things about the property... grill, gazebo, swings, and playground ... we had a wonderful day there followed by a lovely day in estes as well

Review 25:Nothing

Review 26:Lovely location in central Estes Park. Very friendly and helpful staff at front desk. Going to sleep listening the river. Nice spacious, clean room. Bonus nice touches, e.g. the toasted marshmallows in the evening

Review 27:No issues at all. Keep up the good job of making your guests happy.

Review 28:I cannot say enough about the staff here. Everyone was so nice about all services from the time we checked in until our departure. They are all about making guests comfortable and happy. My sister had a HORRIBLE experience at THE MAXWELL INN (front desk woman talking negatively about guests) but was welcomed at the Silver Moon as well. They were extremely kid friendly here as well, let us make s'mores and all. We have 3 children ages 3-8. Would definitely stay here if we return to Estes Park. The staff go out of way to make your stay great.

Review 29:Close proximity to all the shops, nice walking distance. Bundle of firewood and smores given to you upon check in, nice fire pits to sit around by the river at night!

Review 30:The only drawback to this great place by the river was the room was really dark. Not well lighted at all. As a bedtime reader, a good bedside lamp is important. There was 1 small accent lamp for both beds. Overhead lighting was not good either. The outdoor space a very! helpful staff was great. Top notch.

Review 31:Our room was very dark even with all the lights on. Needed a flashlight to retrieve things from our suitcases. Ceiling was painted brown. The room really needed a complete overhaul. I waited as late as possible to go back to my room, it was that dreary. I really couldn't wait to check out. All of the rooms on the opposite end of the structure had been updated with french doors and modern furnishings. If I were to book here again, I would insist on having one of those rooms

Review 32:Location to the town of Estes Park. Beautiful outdoor setting. Staff was very accommodating and approachable. Room was clean.

Review 33:Door knob was worn and key would barely work. Could not get the key in the deadbolt on the outside.

Review 34:Fantastic location. Beautiful stream in front of it. Staff was very nice. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Review 35:Could hear your neighbor's footsteps throughout the night if on the 1st or 2nd level.

Review 36:The outside firepit and grill along side Fall River made for an excellent experience.

Review 37:The room was tired and needed to be at least rehabbed if not updated. Wasn't too clean. With so many young kids the public areas were often dirty and filled with spilled food.

Review 38:Location and friendly staff

Review 39:Curtains are needed to block the light coming in the main window.

Review 40:Love the fire pits and chairs out by the river. The property's location is wonderful. Within walking distance to shopping.

Review 41:The only negative was the check out guy. He was a little obnoxious. The guy who checked us in was wonderful though.

Review 42:i wish we could've stayed a few more days. Great location, by the stream, with fire pits! . I'd go back any time if I could. Pretty room, cosy, clean.

Review 43:This hotel is in an excellent location and very comfortable all around. The outside areas were comfortable and the room was large enough for two. I LOVED hearing the sound of the river as I slept. The service was fantastic.

Review 44:Very firm mattress - which is just a matter of preference but too hard for me.

Review 45:Exceptionally courteous staff, close to restaurants and to the park entrance. Very clean and well kept.

Review 46:The only thing we didn't like is that we were in an older part of the hotel and you could tell that the insulation was not the best. We could hear water dripping in the pipes and people walking above us in their room. I have stayed at this hotel before in a different part, and did not have these issues at all.

Review 47:I really liked the location being very close to downtown and having a river right there. The staff was also extremely nice and helpful. Free breakfast and wifi is always a plus too.

Review 48:Some people writing reviews on here about the Silver Moon Inn will say it's great "IF you're on a budget." Yes the value is great for the location and everything but in my opinion, it's an all around great place to stay whether you're on a budget or not! Walking distance to anywhere in town and you couldn't even think of a more hospitable and friendly staff.

Review 49:Parking iffy; breakfasts were pitiful--no decaf coffee or tea, tea water tepid, sweet rolls were pre- packaged, nothing fresh except bananas; room dark and dreary...

Review 50:Location was wonderful--as close to town as you can get. Plenty of outlets!

Review 51:Breakfast is very basic and cheap quality. If we would have stayed longer, we would just have bought our own breakfast supplies and no bothered with the complimentary breakfast. Not a reason to not come back.

Review 52:Location. Short drive to RMNP and walking distance to village. Friendly staff.

Review 53:Did not take advantage of the breakfast due to the limited choices. But there were enough good restaurants to chose from that it was not a problem.

Review 54:Location was great . Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Close to the park.

Review 55:The only thing I didn't enjoy was the hot tub, although my son enjoyed it, the chemicals were way too strong for us. We didn't enjoy that.

Review 56:The room looked so comfortable for my family. We were not crammed in at all and my 4 month old, 17 month old, and 5 year slept great! We came to Estes Park for an adventure our son would remember forever and he loved it all!

Review 57:Convenience of walking distance to shops, restaurants and downtown Estes Park. Location next to the river with balcony was great. Extremely friendly staff.

Review 58:The staff was very friendly, however, they weren't very helpful or knowledgeable about restaurants and couldn't offer any suggestions on where to eat.

Review 59:Right on the main road where you could walk to restaurants and shopping. Loved stepping out the door and being able to walk along the river. We traveled with a 6 week old and 20 month old plus our dog. They provided us with a nice, clean, pack n play.

Review 60:WiFi kept dropping off... My 4G Hot-spot had faster and more reliable connection than their setup. Bed was a little bit too firm.

Review 61:Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and recently renovated. Babbling brook out front is a great feature.

Review 62:The room was comfortable and roomy. Loved the fireplace and big bathroom. Close enough to walk to shop, even in the cold weather. The wedding was at Rocky Mountain National Park, a short drive. Would love to stay again!!!

Review 63:Beds were super comfy for short periods of time. But that's because I prefer more firm bedding. Feels great when you 1st lie down

Review 64:Great amenities outside. Right on the River walk and actual woodfire pits stocked with split wood...very cool

Review 65:The counter for the bathroom sink needs to be enlarged. Not much room for personal items.

Review 66:The location of the Inn was close to downtown. Spacious room.

Review 67:The breakfast was not very good. Some fresh fruit and pastries would help. Also a better brand of coffee with a better taste should be considered.

Review 68:Beautiful and convenient location. Nicely decorated room and bath.

Review 69:the only complaint would be breakfast and the lack of room in the eating area.

Review 70:The outside of the facility is beautiful, majestic. We loved the firepits and were greeted by 3 large elk in the morning. Staff were very friendly and helpful!

Review 71:Our visit was on one of Colorado's cold spells (-17 F at night). While the gas fireplace and room's heater kept us toasty, Colorado's notoriously dry air left our heads congested - humidifiers in rooms would be a real bonus for guests!

Review 72:Great room, gracious staff, modest coffee and breakfast offerings

Review 73:Wifi would cut off... But we did get to use it quite a bit.

Review 74:The nice hot tub... Try it under the snow. Wow! And staff were great and gave us lots of good suggestions of things to do. We are right next to downtown, so its easy to get around. And keep your eyes peeled, you are probably going to see lots of wild life... Elk were walking right beside us!

Review 75:Breakfast options

Review 76:View Clean Water pressure in shower Fireplace inside Fire pits outside Stream outside Within walking distance to downtown strip

Review 77:No negatives at all. :)

Review 78:The owners and staff are wonderful--at your service in any way they can. Beautiful, well-kept grounds and the location next to the river is awesome!

Review 79:Nothing!

Review 80:Everything! Location was especially good. It was right in town and 4 miles from the park. Staff was super friendly, and the room was perfect.

Review 81:The lobby was is very old and tired. It could definitely use a refresh. It's also very small so not a lot of room to sit when having breakfast. We had to sit in chairs without a table. Other than that, it was great.

Review 82:Loved, loved, loved the riverfront room with private patio, fire pit and chairs along the bank of the Fall River. Property was full but very quiet in the newer addition where our room was located. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Firewood was free!

Review 83:The faucet in the sink leaked but was fixed right away after the issue was pointed out. The showers could use grab bars for safety.

Review 84:Silver Moon has comfortable, clean rooms as expected. But, the great thing is that much of town is within walking distance even for people with some disabilities.

Review 85:swimming pool was not appealing But we were there to visit RMNP, so not a major factor.

Review 86:loved being set by the river Very good continental breakfast

Review 87:I can't think of anything.

Review 88:Located at the end of the main street of Estes Park, so close to everything but not in the middle of it, so quiet. The outdoor seating, fire pits and rushing water were charming. Loved sleeping with the window open to hear the water.

Review 89:My only negative would be the breakfast. It was a bunch of prepackaged foods like donuts and pop tarts, but the kids were happy about that.

Review 90:There were 10 of us all together staying in 3 seperate rooms, including a three bedroom suite. We were all happy with our rooms especially since the suite had a full kitchen so se could cook our own meals. The best night we had was grilling by the river, sitting around the fire pit. They provided plenty of fire wood and even gave us everything to make s'mores. It was perfect! The staff really did everything to make sure we enjoyed our stay!

Review 91:Far and away the most expensive of 7 h/motels we stayed in during a 3-week tour of Colorado. Room very dark and musty. No elevator for toting heavy luggage to upper floor.

Review 92:Third floor room no elevator.

Review 93:Location on the main street in Estes Park was excellent. Walking distance to restuarants and shopping. The river in front was beautiful and the firepits were great for sitting @ night. Close to RMNP.

Review 94:Fire pits next to river, they even build the fire and give you a s'mores kit, nice seating beside fire and river waterfalls! Big Horn restaurant 100 yards away has great food!

Review 95:The location was great; quiet but in easy walking distance to town, nice set-up on the ground floor with fire pits next to the stream. Always like having a hot tub too!

Review 96:The office/dining room open @ 7. Early morning hike day, missed the BF, since did not know no access before 7. Just an misunderstanding but would be convenient to have early morning access.

Review 97:Walk to Estes park, 5 min drive to Rocky Mt NP, great location. Very friendly staff, clean room and quiet comfy night.

Review 98:The ONLY negative was that the bathroom had very little counter space for our toiletries, so we needed to put things on the floor. No problem for us, but would be difficult for someone who had limited mobility to bend down/over.

Review 99:Location at the far end of main street could not have been more perfect.. staff was helpful, knowledgeable, and accommodating and the grounds were lovely with the stream and fire pits at night. Continental breakfast offerings were a hit with my 11 yo daughter. Would not hesitate to stay here again!

Review 100:Friendliness of the staff, wonderful location with an easy stroll into town...sitting by the lovely creek at the inn was very relaxing. Also convenient to the Rocky Mountain National Park.

Review 101:Our room was a bit small. I expected a larger room for the price. The continental breakfast was OK -- nothing special or memorable.

Review 102:Our room was recently updated, clean and well equipped. The hotel is next to an enchanting creek with playground equipment for children, outdoor grills and tables/chairs for guests. Laundry facilities were clean and spacious. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The location is excellent -- next to downtown Estes Park and all of the action.

Review 103:The hotel staff were extremely pleasant, the hotel room was clean and cozy and the location was perfect! We especially enjoyed the private balcony overlooking the river..we've already booked another stay and couldn't imagine staying anywhere else while visiting Estes!

Review 104:older facility, squeaks and plumbing sounds from rooms above

Review 105:With in walk of shops and food, but the feel your outside of town. fire pits and table and seating right out side our room to relax and reflect next to the river very nice.

Review 106:Very little negatives; the rooms come across as a little old and small, but it was very clean and well maintained. The office and breakfast area is small.

Review 107:We would rate The Silver Moon high for location alone, as we easily walked to eating and shopping places, but the staff really put it over the top. The continental breakfast was more than adequate. The creek directly outside our door was just as the pictures displayed and the several fire pits and comfortable swings and chairs made evening relaxation fun and unique.

Review 108:The window coverings in the room need to be changed out for blinds because you can only open completely exposed or keep completely closed as they are now and it keeps the room dark unless you want everyone looking in. Needs better lighting in the room.

Review 109:The location was great.Staff was friendly.

Review 110:room was in the older section, poor lighting, no ventilation in bathroom even though bathroom was updated, room was behind staircase-you opened your door and there were the stairs.

Review 111:staff, location, little extras-continental breakfast, outdoor grills w/utensils, complimentary smore kits, fire pits w/complimentary wood, free soap for laundry

Review 112:Expensive. We went during high travel season and booked 2 weeks from our stay so we paid a premium. Book early if you can.

Review 113:The hotel is within walking distance of shopping and restaurants. Loved the location on the river. Enjoyed building a fire and sitting out next to the river in the evening. Short drive to RMNP.

Review 114:Everything was perfect!!!!

Review 115:Adam and chad and the whole staff are unreal. You are treated like true family... We will be back we got engaged here and will be back for our honeymoon

Review 116:I understand the costs for running a facility, especially one as nice as yours, are high. We generally try to visit with another family to share lodging costs. We live in Denver and used to visit more often but cost has become a factor. Of course we prefer lodging like The Silver Moon as opposed to a basic motel room so we try to save a little and come less often. Always wish we could have afforded to buy our own place in what I think is the most beautiful place on earth. P.S. I rated my quality of sleep as good above - not due to the room - due to my general trouble sleeping. :) We had a double room with refrigerator and microwave and that was adequate for what we needed on the trip but generally like a full kitchen.

Review 117:We have been coming to Estes Park for 50 years and were here celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. We have stayed in all manner of accommodations in EP and we have loved them all for different reasons. We have never considered staying so close to town but found it really much better than expected. We generally prefer something more in the wild but The Silver Moon was great. The river blocked road noise and it felt like we were in the wild. Relaxing with great amenities and grounds. I loved being able to walk downtown and to restaurants, etc. I understand you have 2 BR suites with full kitchens so we are hoping to get our daughter, son-in-law and grandson to join us one of these days. We will watch for off-season rates and hope to come stay with you more often.

Review 118:Could have used a little more space in the room.

Review 119:Loved the staff, grounds, and proximity to the main shopping areas. They were also pet friendly. Breakfast was rather basic but okay for us. Great place to enjoy all of what Estes Park has to offer.

Review 120:the location if unbeatable for Ester Park experience; the staff went out of their way to do make our visit pleasant even though we weren't asking for anything! the fire-pits in the evening near the river with marshmallows for the kids was a huge hit.

Review 121:My kids jumped in the river first thing..they loved having the running water to play in right outside out door. We caught fish at the trout haven pond and grilled it our first night in Estes. The one block walk to all the shops was totally convenient. Peaceful and relaxing, this hotel is the best place to stay in Estes Park!

Review 122:The bathroom tub had mold around the rim where the tile meets the tub.

Review 123:The room was very nice and spacious. We enjoyed the balcony area very much too.

Review 124:I had trouble with the Wi-Fi disconnecting more than once. It seemed to work better sitting outdoors but would not work consistently in the hotel room.

Review 125:Walking distance to downtown, right on the river with plenty of seating outside to enjoy the nice weather, room was great, very clean. Would definitely stay here again. Wish we had started here. Spent first night in another hotel and it was a disaster.

Review 126:We loved it all

Review 127:Great check in and out. Breakfast was good .

Review 128:Very friendly and helpful staff!

Review 129:Little breakfast option

Review 130:Great location.
