Reviews for Hotel Venets
Review 1:it was not obvious in the time of booking that single room is so poor with old furnuture and unpleasent bathroom, there're better rooms in the hotel as I understood from colleagues, but at the time of booking this should be more obvious. On Sunday night sky bar didn't work only restaurant on the ground flore.
Review 2:helpfull staff
Review 3:Al the rest i dont like Not friendly personal on breakfast. poor breakfast and not everthing is fresh I hade already visits old hotels ,i dont mind. What i never except is that bed and pillow smells very bad. Even when i open frige, wow that smells not healthy. Room and special bathroom was need total renovation. And first time in.my life i spend night in toom wher i saw cockroach.what can i say more than unacceptable
Review 4:The bartender did is very best 2 girls on reception where very friendly on speaks english.
Review 5:There actually was a little accident with me in this hotel. After I first returned to my room, I found there some stranger's belongings. While I was away some drunk pilot seeking company had entered my room, left his ID, phone and money and left elsewhere. It all became possible as I apparently had shut but not closed the door. Later I found that there even was a manual on closing / shutting door in every room, which I, of course, didn't notice in the beginning. I was immediately accommodated in another room and given an apology gift from the hotel administration (towels). There was a strange smell near maid's room at my floor.
Review 6:Magnificent view, very polite and friendly staff, central location, unbelievably low price - all this makes Venets my choice for future trips to Ulyanovsk.
Review 7:Almost everything. Especially the rusty water in the taps, the horrible noise next door (the entire floor above was under repaire) and the poor wi fi coverage. Food was also a big compromise.
Review 8:Nothing. It is a poor try of showing off. The old typical for the late 70th Soviet hotel was remade with an ambition to meet contemporary requirements. Helas! To succeed, someone should know what those requirements are. The hotel management obviousely does not.
Review 9:The hotel needs some updating. Although the price was very reasonable, foreigners are required to pay an extra 400 Rubles for "preparation of documents" or something like that (i.e. photocopying passport and visa pages). This seems to be a left-over from Soviet times.
Review 10:Quiet room, comfortable bed. Good view of the Volga.
Review 11:The bath room of room 2003 smelled horribly. I had to keep the window open at all times. The central heating couldn't be turned down.
Review 12:I staid in a superior budget room for just 10500 RUB incl. breakfest.
Review 13:Many fleas on pillows. Mysterial holes on the wall. Moist bedding. Broken toilet and shower. Dirty floor and everywhere. No air-conditioning. There was an old TV but no power outlet for that. Broken wooden Soviet-style window. There seems to be renovated rooms but other rooms are something like this.
Review 14:None
Review 15:Super!!!
Review 16:all at this hotel was very good, staff food location and the view from the 22nd floor breathtaking
Review 17:Bathroom/ toilet very cramped. No proper ventilation..
Review 18:Charge for registration mandatory. Never was given an option. Although I stayed for less that 24hours in the city and I know that under Russian law you are obligated to be registered if your stay is more that 3 days in the country. Was it just for the money? I am just wondering...
Review 19:Waste system smells a little bit. Water in pipeline is rusty. Restaurant does not work at holidays. I got a dressing-down by a clean lady for visiting a porch which was forbiden to visit. Instead of telling guests what is forbiden, one is accused by clean ladies.
Review 20:Awesome view on Ulyanovsk and Volga river. Good and rich breakfast. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful. Perfect location. Very reasonable prices. No special prices for foreigners. No insects.
Review 21:For me it would be comfortable to get fresh towels and bath kit at the morning or at the evening of the day before rather than at the afternoon.
Review 22:I was able to move in my room at the early morning, far before a check out time. Also I could chose a floor.
Review 23:hotel was built in 1970 and i think there wasn't any repair from that time wi fi work only in the lobby and on the stage but not in the number
Review 24:location and view from the number
Review 25:they tried to charge 400 RUB for the registration - which was not on the price and utterly illegal if you stay less than 3 days...and i really had to insist hard not to pay it!
Review 26:location, breakfast, discount race
Review 27:You should go for there, if you would like to feel old communist style.
Review 28:Heating was too hot (+27 degrees in the room).
Review 29:Good location
Review 30:- I loved this seventies atmosphere. Unique today. - Best value ever for the economic room. - A good bed. - Amazing views on the Volga.
Review 31:all over
Review 32:location, breakfast
Review 33:The quality of the room was very poor, not more then 2 stars. There was toilet smell in the room
Review 34:It was in center
