Reviews for Hotell Alderholmen

Review 1:Few electric outlets in room, but as most people probably bring a branching connector anyway, that's ok. Parking was day-to-day, ie had to park on front street and back street every other day. But it was cheap and space enough so not a big issue.

Review 2:Nice room, helpful staff, quiet yet central location. Hot water with good pressure available in shower :) Very good price.

Review 3:Most was based on self-service, which was organized in a clear structure. The personal was thus present only a limited amount of time, but when present it was kind and friendly.

Review 4:Air con cannot be switched off, annoying for a sensible allergic nose of mine. BBC World only foreign TV channel, a German and a Danish would be nice - 12 swedish channels, however largely series in English anyway. (Be sure to have received your admission code in advance! Worked fine for me).

Review 5:Quite new, comfortable size of room and bath room. Full functionality. Excellent self service concept of tea/coffee and a sandwich/early breakfast. Very swedish-ly efficient! Excellent location, easy to find. Private summer terrace at the river.

Review 6:I wanted a room on historic Gavle Strand. It's a personal story; my twelve-year-old grandfather's last vision of his motherland took place there. I had to see it! In addition, a cousin lives close by. Our stay was comfortable.

Review 7:Nothing.

Review 8:This is a great concept for travellers who simply want somewhere to sleep, have breakfast and then be out all day. It is like a self service flat!. Clean, everything you need and a great breakfast selection. It is novel in that the staff are in the background. Entrance is by security number kepad, and then a lock box for the room key. Will definately try and stay here noext time in Gavle.

Review 9:Since the hotel is unattended most time (a contributing reason for why it is non-expensive), there is given a phone number you can call if you need help. However, I could not find any phone. Also, be sure that you have got the entry code before arriving.

Review 10:Cheap and good hotel close to the railway station in Gävle. There is a fridge and self service so you can make an open sandwich whenever you want and have breakfast at what time you want.

Review 11:-) it was uncommon for me that there is no reception.

Review 12:-) enough place to park cars -) clean and tidy -) uncomplicated -) access to free food and drinks 24/7

Review 13:family environment simple and efficient

Review 14:Very thick walls, can't even hear the neighbors snore. Free of charge evening snacks, constant coffee supply, this place is amazing.

Review 15:Self serve sandwiches in the evening.

Review 16:Self service kitchen. Quiet. Homely.

Review 17:Inga personer...

Review 18:Frukost. sovrummet och badrummet var bra.

Review 19:what a nice hotell, friendly stuff, easy check-in/check-out, very comfortable

Review 20:Proximity to central station, very cozy rooms, super friendly hotel owner.

Review 21:The bed was rather small and the matress a little hard.

Review 22:The location and the size of the room.

Review 23:Heard some foot steps from upstairs.

Review 24:Cozy hotel. Well organised.

Review 25:Friendly and accommodating staff Breakfast on the river!

Review 26:No windows in the breakfast/resting room

Review 27:Nice interior with clean rooms

Review 28:Parking was a bit confusing but we were able to park for free because it was a Sunday - this could be more clearly specified at the hotel.

Review 29:Best part was that the hotel owns a small dock on the river and you are able to access this with your room key - a great perk! Great location - close to train station and centre of the city. Self-check in was new to me, but everything went smoothly. The owner is very nice and welcoming. Breakfast was good - standard options for Sweden.

Review 30:A lovely and quiet hotel with comfortable rooms and an open kitchen and living room. Well supplied fridges with self service breakfast and evening sandwiches, fruits, coffee and tea à volonté. We felt completely at ease in this nice place.

Review 31:* Price - value, the hotel was to me rather a bed and breakfast than a hotel (no staff, self service breakfast). * Bread - I expect fresh bread in a hotel for breakfast. * Self service - you had to place all dishes in the dish washer after breakfast, too much work for my taste. *Cleaning is done only if using a sign on door, we set ours out but the staff missed it.

Review 32:*Sandwich you could make at night. *Clean and in good condition *Close to the city * Parking for free behind hotel

Review 33:Curtains didn't block the sunlight very well, and the sun comes up very early during summer at Sweden. Also it was quite hot in the room but no ventilation or fan.

Review 34:Simplicity, self-service, quick - no standing in lines waiting.

Review 35:Guests need to follow the instructions to check-in and get into the room. It is not so convenient.

Review 36:It is clean and quiet. The location is excellent. Guests can have coffee all day.

Review 37:Unique location on waterfront in Gavle, Sweden. On the lower floor of a converted warehouse. Nice accommodation ... not luxury, but great for a night or two. Self service kitchen and dining.

Review 38:No personal in the hotel first looks strange, but after same time it is Ok.

Review 39:Nice hotel. Central location. Very clean and cuite. Nice food for breakfest and coffe machine all time around. A little too hi price for budget travelers, but as all in Sweden.

Review 40:Very clean and comfortable single room. Self service breakfast available all the time and evening sandwiches available as a self service. Great hotel.

Review 41:bath towels could be larger

Review 42:all great will stay again

Review 43:An excellent value for money in Gavle

Review 44:Location, concept of the hotel (self check-in,breakfast like at home)

Review 45:Having to drag luggage up the front step.

Review 46:It was quiet and friendly.

Review 47:Clean, compact, easy
