Review 1：We expected to be able to hear the band playing downstairs at the bar.... however, our room was directly over another bar downstairs that we were not away of.... the BASS sound gave us a BIG headache.... it was sooo load you could feel the bathroom floor shaking on the 3rd floor.

Review 3：(The off-shoot-cross-parking lot rooms) was dirty, smelly (like in-ventilated locker room), poor broken furniture, old bathroom and tub, poor-filtered ac/heat unit and right across from all the loud nightly drunks from outdoor bar area. I don't know what the in-hotel historic rooms were like?

Review 7：Though the staff were very expedient to bring up the historical elevator not having an optional elevator would be a dislike. Tas an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;The rooms were of historical and fine but it would be nice to have a shower wand.
Review 8：Staff friendly and helpful. The history of the hotel from 1898 very interesting with the staff operated elevator. The location is convenient and the town is clean with historical interest.
Review 9：The fist room we were given had a major leak in the ceiling...... In our second room the phone didn't work!

Review 11：I did not like the age of the tv, it did not have a good picture, the room needed to be updated. The couch, the cabinets looked very old and worn. Only one ice machine.

Review 13：Halls/stairs weren't the cleanest, but rooms were clean. Staff was awesome always very helpful. There was a variety of food for breakfast and it was good. Always a fruit bowl on the desk. Prices were great.
Review 14：Wonderful historic hotel right in beautiful quaint downtown area. Loved being able to just walk out to locally owned stores and restaurants. Christine at the front desk was wonderful, and the elevator is an attraction on its own. (Written by wife)

Review 19：Repairs in hotel were done by unknowledgeable repairman. Bathtub was broken. No hot water, just lukewarm. Placed us across from the bar, had to turn up the volume on TV to tune out noise.

Review 21：The location and the bar inside the lobby. It was a spur the moment trip so $52 is a reasonable deal for somewhere to sleep but there wasn't anything about the room that we liked
Review 22：overall bad housekeeping in the garden view room: bugs in the vanity light cover, grime on the outlet next to the refrigerator, freezer needed defrosting badly, wall in the shower needs repair, very strange method of making the shower work. Renovation desperately needed

Review 24：The room was spacious; for a building that was well over 100 years old, it wasn't bad. Very charming, updated bathrooms, and an old-fashioned elevator (I would advise against using it). Added bonus: three bars in the hotel open until 2 a.m., apparently a local hot-spot.
Review 25：Booked room in "historic hotel" ended up across the courtyardin the motel part across from the very loud bar. Non-smoking roomsmelled like an ash tray combined with mold. Huge dead bugs in thelights, and what seemed like blood on the wall of the bathroom.
Review 26：Everything else. Room was filthy. Did not want to take shower due to tub, and bathroom in general, were disgusting. Things that were promised (fridge, microwave, hair dryer, wi-fi) were non-existent.

Review 29：The hotel is beautiful and well maintained. The rooms are reasonably sized and clean. The building was built in 1898 and retains that character, even through remodels and updates.
Review 30：1st as I walk through the modest lobby the security woman is playing with a wired child at 9:30 at night. Later we find it's the clerks child. Once in the adiquet room we find the wifi is not strong enouph to work on my pad. Next, a family of very loud and unrespectful people, spent most of their time discussing the bar in the echo chamber hallway. Not a adiquet night of sleep. I felt insecure.

Review 32：My bedroom was freezing. I eventually had to be moved to another room but the hotel could benefit from modern heating systems instead of individual units. This hotel has so much potential - it just needs a serious upgrade. But for a basic, clean, relatively inexpensive hotel - this fit the bill.

Very loud at night, call to front desk for help withdrunk and loud neighbors, was to told there was nothing he could do. Ifelt like someone robbed me for almost $200.00 after staying at yourhotel, I will never stay their again,will go to Augusta first!!!
