Reviews for Best Western Plus Lehigh Valley Hotel
Review 1:The delicious FREE hot buffet breakfast. Don't pay the extra $10.00 for breakfast. Everyone gets the breakfast included. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was very clean. Short distance to highway. Would highly recommend.
Review 2:The room looked out over the pool courtyard and there seemed to be a lotof ambient noise through our window from that area. Draperies were veryold and worn. The bathroom was very small with a small low commode andvery cheap plastic seat, almost as if for a child's use, not for a6' 250 pound man. Ironing board was broken. Very noisy heater but itwas warm enough to do without except in the morning just to take chillout of the air. Old worn and "lumpy" carpet felt damp andseemed dirty from age. Housekeeping cleaned the room while we were outbut did not replace hand soap or condiments for the coffee maker. Therewas coffee in the room but no tea bags. We carry our own for just thatreason. These are minor complaints, not meant to take away from ouroverall experience, which was very satisfied.
Review 3:Convenient hotel at an excellent price for Christmas Eve and ChristmasDay. Staff was friendly and polite, especially the dining staff. Theroom and the bed were clean and comfortable [except the carpet].Complimentary full buffet breakfast was very good quality. The hotelprovided us with what we needed, a comfortable location equidistant toall 3 towns we visited at an affordable rate [through booking.com] ~ atleast $20 less than the lowest priced competitors in the area. The freewifi made an easy connection to out laptop. My wife and I talked aboutthe hotel afterwards and felt that it was overall equivalent or betterthan most much higher priced hotels we have stayed at, including otherBest Westerns. I would compare it to the smaller rooms at The GrandHotel in Cape May for room quality as an older hotel that sees manyconventions and a lot of traffic. We were very satisfied with this hotelfor price, comfort, location, friendly staff, and services. And, ofcourse, the free breakfast.
Review 4:Old hotel structure, no elevator to 2nd floor, window profiles not perfectly matching, heating noisy, dispensing machines in corridor noisy
Review 5:Staff friendly, close to Freeway 22, Bethelehem, Allentown and Airport Free WIFI
Review 6:there was a cat convention in town when I stayed and people brought their cats into the hotel. I think that is unhealthy and if you are allergic to cats it would be a disaster. pets should not be allowed in the hotel
Review 7:The restaurant on site was horrible. My wife was sick after eating there. There was a wedding party staying at the hotel while we were there and kept us up until 3 am. Think the staff would have put the wedding party together on same floor and other guests elsewhere.
Review 8:The staff were nice and helpful. The rooms were clean.
Review 9:We were bothered by a very loud heater in our room (room 110). Because of our circumstances (funeral and memorial service) we were unable to notify the front desk in our rushing around. We were told at the front desk when we checked out that we were entitled to 50% off for one night. We were also told that the computers were down on Sunday when we checked out, thus no receipt.
Review 10:Reception was good. We needed directions to get to a memorial service in Bethlehem and were given a computer print out of directions. The beds were excellent.
Review 11:Guests and employees smoking outside an entry/exit door. Had to walk through the crowd many times.
Review 12:Right off of Rt 22 and a short (10 min) drive to downtown/Moravian College. Staff allowed for free late check-out. Breakfast exceeded expectations for the run of the mill free hotel breakfast.
Review 13:Front desk people could be a little more cheerful. They were not rude. Just a little reserved. Also, two tiny bars of sopa would have been better than one. Breakfast staff was a little overwhelmed...dirty dishes on tables (why don't people pick up after themselves more?)
Review 14:Liked the friendly No Name Bar, despite slow food service. Liked the location, the quiet surroundings, the very capable heater in room. Also, unlike other hotels, there wasn't a huge TV screen everywhere you turned. A lot of old-school touches made the hotel rather charming.
Review 15:Breakfast was very poor - selections were limited. When asked about missing items, the attendant said that "they weren't delivered." Why not go buy some for the guests who paid for and expected certain items? Whole facility is dated - hallways and carpets were dirty and had trash in/on them. Wake up call that was requested never came. Had to wait for ONE person at the desk to assist everyone who was trying to check in, including 2 bus loads of sports teams, and two complaining guests who were allowed to butt in line. One asked to see the manager, who didn't appear for a very long time. Why is only one person running the front desk when 2 others were seen going in and out of the office door? The person who was trying to manage the confusion of check in's was short and rude to guests, saying "no problem." The policy of guests being forced to sign for a $25 "incidental" fee up front is unacceptable! This policy is insulting for people who pay their bills up front and/or on time. The walls are extremely thin - we could hear people in the next rooms who were speaking in normal voices. The quiet hours (we signed a form that addressed these) were NOT observed or enforced, so although the beds were comfortable, our sleep was limited. Only coffee is supplied in the room - we are not coffee drinkers - why no tea? Does Best Western really want its name used by this place?
Review 16:Beds were comfortable. The sheets were clean.
Review 17:Restaurant and staff questionable. One night new chef good meal. Next night bad and staff worthless.
Review 18:Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Hotel is secluded. Pool and pool area clean. Quiet. Room was a nice size - had 2 double beds.
Review 19:Large clean room w/ large flat screen tv. Mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker included. Bathroom well stocked, down to the mounted shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispenser in shower. Great sit down, complimentary hot breakfast buffet w/ friendly staff that kept on top of things. Nice tranquil, clean pool area w/ towels provided (outdoors, so would be seasonal). Didn't use the on site bar and restaurant, but they appeared nice.
Review 20:The bathroom fixtures were in need of repair. People talking in the halls seemed amplified as the door didn't fit well at all...you could see light all around it.
Review 21:Location to our trip was good.
Review 22:It was hard to regulate the temperature in the room and the bathroom lights were motion sensitive and would go out if you weren't actively moving around
Review 23:Hotel was clean, good location for us and the staff was very nice.
Review 24:No curtains to block sunlight from coming in Bathtub too small Location of bathroom door to toilet too tight Sheets old Pillows too soft Bed not firm enough The room felt dirty Having to put up a $25 deposit until check out, reminiscent of a hood motel
Review 25:Nothing, it was utilitarian, the basics no frills.
Review 26:Wonderful front desk staff and attention. They call later to make sure everything is OK. Nice touch. Also has a nice outdoor pool with lots of deck space. Whoops. This should be in the what I liked part ! It was all good. No complaints.
Review 27:See above. I put what I liked in wrong space ! I had no negative experience. Nice motel. Nice staff.
Review 28:I really thought the customer service was phenomenal. I bumped into several employees in the hall and they were so pleasant. They all look at me directly and greeted me.
Review 29:The pool and hot tub are clean and a good size. I liked having the restaurant & bar on site. The room was also a nice size, with a comfortable bed, fridge, TV, and WiFi. This is my second stay at this hotel in a year, and I will definitely go back again.
Review 30:I was awakened in the middle of the night by people who apparently were other guests talking loudly in the hallway. This went on for half an hour or so. Since this occurred around 2 AM I assume they were bar patrons going back to their rooms after drinking. Not really the hotels fault, except that they could ask the bar patrons to be considerate of other guests who are already asleep. However, I realize it is often hard to tell a drunk person to be quiet.
Review 31:The hotel was clean and the staff was very courteous and professional.
Review 32:Heater was very ,very loud when it kicked on and then couldn't hear the tv. If turned tv up when the heater kicked off tv was too loud. Also when heater kicked off room was left freezing cold.
Review 33:I like that the bathroom lights came on and went off automatically. Bed was very comfortable. I liked that we could park in front of our room and enter and exit to the hotel or the parking lot. Hot breakfast was a welcome surprise!
Review 34:Fan was loud.cold room.had to take blanket off second bed to keep warm.fan would go into ac before any heat and stayed on long time.could see daylite under outside door.shampoo dispenser empty
Review 35:Good weather coming and going.funny to see how you cope with a little snow.we live with snow 4 months a year.thanx for the laugh
Review 36:Other guest very inconsiderate very noisy late at night. Unable to get to sleep until well after midnight due to excessive noise.i complained at desk clerk said I'm sorry.
Review 37:Overall good
Review 38:I phoned the front desk, from the PA Welcome Ctr., asking for directions, as our GPS died. They couldn't give us directions! We were delayed over 1 hr. because of this. We booked through a third pty.and wondered if this was the problem...UGH! Drunk Wedding Party guest woke us up as they returned to their rooms. The different guests should be separated!!!! Little rest for us as they partied in the hallway...where was security!
Review 39:The bedrooms sheets and pillows had feet smell and obe of the pillows looked like dry blood stain in Room 272 & 282. My Aunt & Uncle also stated there beds felt very unsanitary. I did not complained I had a family function to attend in Bethlehem. Both myself, cousin from South Jersey, and Aunt & Uncle stood at yr location to avoid the long commute back home. I should I stated my concerns at tge front desk, but did not want to damper my day. We all noticed that several housekeeping members on our floor did not have their uniforms, it was hard to determine whose a worker or not. We felt unsafe.
Review 40:Reception desk staff - professional. Kitchen staff - professional.
Review 41:While it's advertised as a hotel, all the rooms also have accessfrom the outside, making it really more of a motel. This was misleading, and the noise from other guests passing by outside and from the parkinglot made it a little loud when we were trying to sleep.
Review 42:My girlfriend and I stayed here for a might while we were in town for ashow at the Sands. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, thebreakfast buffet was good, and the rate was a good value.
Review 43:Distance from amusement park was farther than advertised; especially since the truck and construction traffic was terrible both ways back and forth. Freezing cold outdoor pool, not very clean. Mostly outdoor access to rooms though not advertised as such. No elevator, terrible for large luggage items.
Review 44:The breakfast was very good. Good variety and well-prepared. Courteous and friendly staff. Mostly clean facilities. Slept well on King bed. Good variety of Cable channels. Good parking. Reasonable expense.
Review 45:There was no elevator but this did not matter much as we did not have much luggage to haul.
Review 46:We were a little concerned about noise because this hotel is right off US 22. So in our reservation request we asked for a "quiet room. They gave us a choice of a second floor king in the back or two beds on the first floor. We took the second floor room. It was in the rear facing the courtyard. we were pleased not to hear any traffic noises at all. Of course the a/c unit made some noise (not abnormally loud)when it kicked on but this was about the same as any other hotel we have stayed at.
Review 47:There were nowhere near enough outlets to plug in my phone andcomputers. As I planned to work in my room, this was a problem. Also, while the staff is very nice, they had a tendency to have loudconversations with each other during breakfast. It was not the best wayto start the day
Review 48:The staff were friendly, the room was clean, the restaurant was goodenough (the breakfast was very nice), and I felt safe. It was perfectfor business purposes.
Review 49:Very dirty, stained chair, tiny square sleeping pillows. Bed was not made up properly. Hallway carpets were dirty and had trash on them. Looked like hadn't seen a vacuum in years. Front desk not very friendly. Restaurants not opened and no elevator.
Review 50:The price, the location
Review 51:the thermometer in the room would not adjust and i froze all night as the airconditioner never turned off.
Review 52:location was good for musikfest as was the breakfast
Review 53:The tub, thought of using the jacuzzi but looked closer to the openings& the edge of the shower bracket on the tub & changed my mind.To me it was not clean, not my clean. Sorry but you aked.
Review 54:We were very happy with our room, it was clean, fresh & cozy.Bathroom was excellent, except you should really have higher toilets.Senior/ mature folks need higher toilets due to joint replacements& senior bones. Sounds funny but very important to us & safer.
Review 55:The hallways looked old and carpeting not so clean. We asked for early arrival which did not work out. It made the day very difficult for us. I asked for an extra wash cloth and got a hand towel.
Review 56:The cost was reasonable.
Review 57:Room near stairwell and outside was noisy.
Review 58:When I travel all I want is a clean room, comfy bed and quiet. I did get all that with the exception of the quiet which was not the hotels fault. I got to hear every word of other guest drama in the wee hours of the morning, police included. I enjoyed dinner at the sports bar and breakfast was very good and plentiful
