Reviews for El Pueblo Lodge
Review 1:We really enjoyed how clean the place was, the very friendly staff, and excellent breakfast everyday. We felt like we received more than we paid. Thank you for a nice stay at your motel.
Review 2:We drove in from Pueblo West to spend a few days in one of our favorite stops. My grandson and I walked to the Plaza! Only a couple blocks away with delightful little shops to stop at along the way. The hotel served chips, salsa and coffee, tea & hot chocolate, fresh baked cookies and fresh fruit till 8:00 in the evening! Breakfast had a wide array of items. You didn't leave there hungry! Michael's Kitchen was just a hop away if restaurant dining was your choice. The hot tub was inviting too. Everyone there was cheerful & helpful. A very inviting Stay. Very clean & comfortable. We'll stay there again.
Review 3:This hotel is wonderful. I will definitely be back. The setting is amazing and the hot tub being open during the winter is a plus for sure! And, the breakfast was more than expected.
Review 4:Large, comfortable room with everything we needed and some nice amenities like cookies, chips and salsa and hot drinks offered until late in the evening. Our trip was during a cold snap, and was delighted to come back to a cozy room and warm ourselves.
Review 5:Not a bad experience, but could have used more wood to keep fire burning and I never asked where it was kept when we checked in.
Review 6:Wow the beds and the breakfast...
Review 7:No microwave
Review 8:Breakfast has fresh fruit, hard-boiled eggs and other healthy choices. The king room 401 was very spacious and quiet, if you can handle stairs. Nice to have a fridge. Guest laundry was directly below us. Easy walk to the Plaza
Review 9:I liked the feel of the hotel - it had a nice vibe. We enjoyed the hot tub, the breakfast, and the room in general. We were not able to get a fire started, but we know we would have enjoyed that too!
Review 10:My ,room was clean, spacious, quiet, exited to lovely back yard.. My breakfast was delicious and served in an appetizing, and gracious manner. I will return next year.
Review 11:Close to shops, we like going to Michaels to eat and your hotel is a short distance from there. We liked the large rooms and fireplace. We have all intentions of going back to your hotel...thanks
Review 12:Carpet in room a little dated.
Review 13:Staff was friendly and helpful. Cookies baked fresh daily.Loved southwest decor. Liked the divided room between living room and bedroom.2 tvs Jacuzzi and pool were very clean. Large bathroom
Review 14:Loved it all - we prefer to stay in the older part of Taos when we visit there which is at least once a year. You will see us again! We couldn't have been happier.
Review 15:This was the BEST experience in a hotel/motel that I have had in 30 years! The room was fantastic #102, staff friendly, food and staff was wonderful. Courtyard was unbelievable and we WILL BE BACK!
Review 16:Staff very friendly. Establishment obviously put a lot of effort into making property attractive and comfortable. Spacious rooms, very comfortable beds and bedding. Convenient ice machine. Awesome shower. For lodging in area think it was a good value. Rooms in general seemed over priced there. (We are well traveled and travel frequently)
Review 17:Not walking distance to town center. Housekeeping needs a little more attention. Should have been about $15-$20 less per night and make breakfast an option.
Review 18:Old school style was charming once we got used to it. Comfortable bed. Nice pool. Groundskeepers were nice.
Review 19:The pool again was dirty and needed vacuuming at the bottom of the pool-- gross and this is the second time we have experienced this....... so we could not use it
Review 20:great beds and very clean--location is excellent and staff was very good
Review 21:Wow! The staff are so nice & helpful! We love the pool & hot tub! Breakfast is great! A few blocks from the square which we prefer. Second stay here!
Review 22:Bathroom was a bit small and window a/c was a surprise - although worked ok.
Review 23:Relaxed atmosphere and lovely grounds. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Loved that it was dog-friendly even though we were not traveling with ours.
Review 24:None what so ever!!!!!
Review 25:We shall return and extend our stay! Everything about the El Pueblo is perfect.. from the staff to accommodations to location! Couldn't be a better place to visit and feel so relaxed! Yes, Yes... Number One on our list of places to stay and we have stayed at many!!!
Review 26:Nothing.
Review 27:Just adore old fashion motor lodges. We took advantage of the charcoal grill, which as all set up for us with the coals, lighter fluid as well as matches. We played horse shoes while we waited for the grill to be ready. Then enjoyed S'Mores for dessert.
Review 28:OUr friend said her air con didn't work well. Ours was fine
Review 29:Very full breakfast! Nice pool and hot tub. The vintage style of motel was so nice! clean place, nice grounds.
Review 30:No complaints.
Review 31:Staff very friendly, rooms very clean and spacious and the bed was so comfortable. They also put on a nice spread for breakfast very tasty.
Review 32:This was an amazing place to stay: clean, beautiful grounds, friendly staff, great location (walking distance from the plaza, etc), good breakfast. Very family friendly. We will definitly stay again.
Review 33:Old tiled bathroom, mildew, excess caulk attempt to cover mildew. Tiles dated over 20 years. Our unit was a walk up. Was not informed of this when booking. Luggage up the stairs was no fun
Review 34:Location is great Beds clean and comfortable Southwest theme and feel
Review 35:Rustic setting. Well maintained. All staff were extremely professional and went out of there way to be good hosts. Staff support was the biggest plus. Will stay there again.
Review 36:The location and atmosphere of the Motel was right on. I'm very picky about places to stay and will definitely being staying here again. The only thing my husband wished they had was green chile's to go with his morning breakfast, but I thought it was ok for me!
Review 37:Friendly staff!!! Very clean!! Great breakfast and such a beautiful patio to sit at in the morning!!! Nice pool, towels at the pool, how nice it was! Plan to stay here again and share how great it is with others
Review 38:Hard to get a comfortable sleeping temperature. Comforter was too hot for summer. Turning on a/c produced intermittent spurts of gale force winds which didn't help sleeping.
Review 39:Big room. Balcony. Breakfast and the dining area.
Review 40:The staff was very friendly and helpful. There are three grills at the facility and the staff provided all the materials (ex food) for me to create a successful meal. The location was ideal. A short walk to town which allowed me to limit my driving. The accommodations were awesome - comfy bed, large breakfast (with many homemade items), great "outdoorsy" grounds.
Review 41:I didn't have a bad experience, just a pet peeve: I didn't like the desk next to the air conditioner.
Review 42:This was my third stay in Taos, my first at El Pueblo Lodge. The room was spotless. The bed was very comfy. The staff were consistently friendly and efficient. The location ---ideal.
Review 43:Wifi was not great
Review 44:I loved the location and the charm of this hotel. The free breakfast was nice to ha e as well. The beds were extremely comfortable and room was clean.
Review 45:This is a $90 / day room at best not $150. Living on past reputation. Hotel staff monopolizing breakfast while customers wait their term.
Review 46:Big room, comfortable bed
Review 47:Lighting poor for reading - short lamps with dark shades. A slight musty smell in the room.
Review 48:Great breakfast, pretty grounds, close to the plaza and restaurants, museums, etc.
Review 49:We enjoyed this funky little place nestled in the heart of Taos. Its historic ambiance, the courtyard and outdoor spaces, the incredibly friendly and helpful staff and the general down to earth atmosphere. Only regret is how short our stay. The room accommodations are adequate, nothing special, but if you stay there for that, you miss the point.
Review 50:We decided to extend our stay one more day and the staff worked hard to find us a room since the hotel was full. We were quite pleased that we were moved to another location and they took care of moving our luggage while we were exploring Taos.
Review 51:Inside breakfast area was a bit cramped during cool weather, so patio was too cool to eat breakfast.
Review 52:The El Pueblo Lodge was designed to make you feel at home. The room was lovely, very Southwesternish in design. The grounds were wonderful. Small group seating everywhere, so you could have conversations in a nice setting. Location was ideal.
Review 53:Staff insisted in writing down the licence plate number immediately at registration. Had to get back to the parked car. WTH was that for?
Review 54:The breakfast was the best (hotel) breakfast we had on this trip.
Review 55:However...we booked a non smoking room which was perfect, except that smoking was allowed on the shared porch just under our only window and even encouraged with ash trays on every table and two chair set up. Smoke leaked in around the door. One night the neighbors had a gathering of friends all smoking . Truly unhealthy and smelly.....
Review 56:Loved this place. Decor, comfort, bkfst, location etc etc etc
Review 57:The beds were sooo comfortable. It was just a 15 minute walk to the Central Plaza where there were many cafes and galleries. And the Taos Pueblo was just a short ride from the hotel. It would be a great place for a family. There was a swimming pool and a great open area with plenty of room to run, comfy outdoor chairs in which to settle in later in the day and even a horseshoe pit.
Review 58:Staff extremely helpful. Breakfast was great - so many choices! Comfortable beds. Great location - walking distance to downtown. Bathroom was brand new. Price was very good. Grounds were lovely.
Review 59:Just one slight detraction: the connecting door to the adjacent room needs soundproofing. Even though our neighbors were considerate we could hear everything they did. Staff is aware of this issue and is looking at ways to soundproof. If it is part of your own group in the adjacent room, this might not bother you at all.
Review 60:Wonderful, friendly staff. Quiet location. Cars parked away from our building, so no sounds of trunks or doors slamming or engines. Pleasant patio front and rear of the unit. Relaxing hot tub next to the pool we had mostly to ourselves for an apres ski soak. Walked to town for dinners.
Review 61:Stayed in the original lodge (Rm 106). Very nice and clean. My only requests are clean rooms and clean bathrooms. They both fit the bill. Nice to be able to back up the car to the front door. Only stayed one night, but would surely stay again my next time in Taos. Very friendly staff and excellent breakfast.
Review 62:The room was huge! Very nicely decorated and homey. There was even a fireplace. Lots of character. Very clean! Wish we could have stayed more than one night.
Review 63:Although the room is large, the bathroom is very cramped, and the shower head is ridiculously high and unadjustable.
Review 64:The breakfast is abundant and full of variety. Delicious.
Review 65:Unique facility like staying in a older hacienda. Friendly staff. Fun extra touches. Luxurious beds,.Yummy granola. Salsa and tortillas for breakfast burritos.
Review 66:TV reception was always starting and stopping. Thought I had read a review where this had been recognized as previous problem. When mentioned at checkout there either seemed to know about the problem or didn't care.
Review 67:Comfortable bed, very clean updated bathroom and central location,
Review 68:Our room was charming, with several colorful Southwestern touches. We were there in March, and the bathroom was delightfully toasty. Breakfast was excellent, with lots of fruit in addition to other selections.
Review 69:Wi-fi was a little slow and spotty, but that's the only complaint, if I had to pick something.
Review 70:The staff and owners were wonderful. The fresh baked cookies after skiing were kickass good! Great breakfast. Rooms were very large, very clean, and beds were large and comfortable. Awesome little place. Good hot tub too. Location is decent as well.
Review 71:Wi-fi was a little weak in 118, but not a big deal.
Review 72:Breakfast was great, ski bus stops right across the street ($2 round trip), super clean room, comfy bed, cozy lobby, HOT hot tub, quiet, attractive rooms
Review 73:We have stayed here a few times and did not have this problem however during our most recent stay the water pressure and temperature in the shower was not great.
Review 74:El Pueblo is a comfortable and clean hotel. The complimentary breakfast is decent and the evening snacks are a nice bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Review 75:The one minus was that the room had a very strong deoderised odor. If you are allergic to this sort of thing I would not recommend staying.
Review 76:Comfy beds, clean updated rooms, Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast included (many choices.) Hot cocoa and coffee available upon arrival.
Review 77:We had a room with adjoining doors and unfortunately you could hear everything next door - and above. I would recommend booking the single level rooms next time as this was the only complaint we had
Review 78:Very friendly and helpful staff - good sized room with plenty of space. Great breakfast! Pet friendly with patio and garden/dog area.
Review 79:The room was large, tastefully decorated, and the bed and bed linens were extremely comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. Very good value for the cost.
Review 80:Wifi could be better. Heater was a bit funky in that it never turned off and blew cold air to lower temperature. Shower rod fell down.
Review 81:Rooms are spacious with nice touches. Breakfast room is very cozy with plenty of space. Breakfast itself had many choices even though styled as continental.
Review 82:The location in relation to the center of Taos was great! We walked everywhere which was very nice. The staff was wonderful. Also, the rooms were very clean, quaint and we just loved our stay. Definitely our first choice to stay upon returning to Taos!
Review 83:Everything was first class....
Review 84:Wonderful location, steps to Taos Plaza and restaurants. Friendly staff. Comfortable accomodations. Great breakfast included.
Review 85:Rug at the front desk is too beautiful to be stood on. Should be hanging on the wall!!
Review 86:room large and comfortable decorated in authentic Southwestern style. The woman who oversees complimentary breakfast with her bottomless coffee pot is very warm and friendly a unique part of the travelers hotel experience. Nice way to start the day.
Review 87:Dirty towels on floor were rehung in clothes closet!!!! Litter from prior occupant never cleaned from balcony x 3 days we were there. Clean towels not exchanged for dirty ones.
Review 88:Great old school motor-lodge property. Good continental breakfast. Room staff need training in clean vs dirty. Breakfast staff are best tour guides. Huge room with excellent beds.
Review 89:Clean, spacious room - we didn't use the pool as it was becoming colder. Yes, we would have had fun using the fire-place later on. Parking was easy, and though one reviewer has said it is not within walking distance, if you don't mind a short walk, it is - the Inn isn't right in the centre but well within a mile of the actual town itself. We particularly liked the breakfast and the lady who served us was helpfulness itself and made breakfast fun, even at a very early hour!
Review 90:Taos Pueblo we had come to visit was closed for special occasion - visitors need to check dates. Nothing wrong with the hotel!
Review 91:Convenience of location - warmth of welcome - friendliness of staff at breakfast - traditional motel approach.
Review 92:Could use a spruce up. Grounds not as pretty as photos. Walls thin, can hear conversations in next room.
Review 93:Great location, near plaza, shopping and restaurants. Room was large and comfortable. Had kitchenette, fireplace. Balcony, but not much of a view. Plentiful breakfast with fruit, hard boiled eggs, cereal and baked goods.
Review 94:El Pueblo Lodge is very accommodating. And friendly staff makes it feel like you are at home. The check in and out were easy. The directions to restaurants and shopping were helpful. We very much enjoyed the continental breakfast that is offered. Finally the room was comfortable and the bed divine. Thank you. We will come again.
Review 95:Only complaint..the shower could have had a better nozzle.
Review 96:The continental breakfast was very good, and the hostess that greated us each morning was a real sweetheart.
Review 97:Sometimes difficult to make the turn into the El Pueblo because of traffic and it is also a small amt. of space right at the turn.
Review 98:Beautiful grounds and pleasant to be inside or out.
Review 99:They allow people to smoke outside their rooms on the porch right next to your room . There is no wall upstairs on the porch. It fills the room with smoke and it''s just like having a smoking room. Disgusting.
Review 100:Location - good breakfast
Review 101:Exactly as picture online. Decor was perfect. Old facility, but nicely updated. So relaxing. Love all of the outdoor sitting areas. Continental breakfast was delicious. We definitely plan on returning!!
Review 102:The only issue we had was an air conditioner that leaked into the room a bit. Was simply a faulty AC unit that I'm sure could be easily repaired.
Review 103:Location was perfect. Right in the middle of town. Most comfortable beds ever! No joke. Staff was great as was the lounge area and breakfast. Would definitely recommend.
Review 104:This motor lodge was heralded by many, and I was underwhelmed. I think they are overpriced for what they offer. My room was in need of a good dusting, and it smelled like a campfire due to the, albeit cute, fireplace in our room. The breakfast was advertised to be quite a spread, but it's just a basic continental breakfast. Just too much money for what we got.
Review 105:This hotel is had old-world charm, and was very quiet despite its fullness. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable.
Review 106:The internet connection was unable to handle skyping, although sufficient for emails etc.
Review 107:Lovely room, very friendly and helpful staff. Heated pool and jacuzzi. Within walking distance of Square. Beautiful grounds and delightful & beyond continental - continental breakfast. Great value for the money.
Review 108:Layout of room was a little odd. you enter through the bathroom but that may be so you have a nice balcony and bedroom view of the outdoors.
Review 109:It is located within walking distance of so many of the attractions in Taos.
Review 110:Lovely decor that made a standard motel-type room much nicer. Very spacious room, nice pool and breakfast (even had gluten-free baked goods). Friendly reception staff.
Review 111:We loved everything! Breakfast, the room, the gorgeous grounds, parking by the door - the total experience was great. Would have stayed longer but couldn't get a room...book early!
Review 112:Wi-Fi reception was weak. Had to move to reception to get reasonable signal.
Review 113:We liked the location and the staff. Very reasonable rates and the included breakfast was great.
Review 114:Nothing
Review 115:My wife and I own a small restaurant in Castle Pines, Co. We neede a couple of days off to regenerate. This was a perfect place! Staff, helpful and friendly; room very comfortable; Grounds, well cared for; pool, best in Taos! Still work to do around the place but great value.
Review 116:Only drawback was fitness room was rather inadequate.
Review 117:The location was great, staff were very friendly and helpful, accommodations were clean and comfortable, free WiFi all over the resort, free parking right in front of room, included breakfast was tasty and plentiful.
Review 118:Wifi was weak. Hard to hear tv due to window unit.
Review 119:Breakfast, beautiful grounds, spacious and decorative room, refrigerator, storage for clothes and luggage
