Reviews for Hotel Estes
Review 1:the sheets were very itchy and the other guests were rowdy keeping my girlfriend and i up most of the evening.
Review 2:the staff were very polite when told about concerns.
Review 3:Heater did not warm up the room too well and had to go to Starbucks at 6 am because the coffee maker in the room had dust inside where the water goes, and the office wasn't open until 7.
Review 4:We got an upstairs room and the room was beautiful. Loved the bed and setup. Plenty of amenities!
Review 5:Our room was an adjoining room and the people in that room (whom we didn't know ) were obnoxiously loud all night long.
Review 6:The room was very clean and cozy.
Review 7:Nothing happened -or you would have known about it at the time !
Review 8:The location was great ! away from the crowded downtown, but only 5 min away. Breakfast was very good, too. Clean & staff present for any service needed. The room was carefully attended.Altogether, a great stay. enhanced our !st. time visit !
Review 9:The room was updated which was nice. I especially liked that the room was super clean. That is the reason why I finally decided to stay at Hotel Estes. The view from the 2nd story was truly beautiful! The staff was very friendly and informative.
Review 10:Heard the people upstairs very early in the morning. Nothing that would stop me from staying again.
Review 11:Very nice experience. Nice continental breakfast. Friendly and helpful front desk people. clean.
Review 12:The placement of the hot tub outside of the pool area was terrible. It was like sitting in the hot tub in the middle of the road. Also, there was a broken wall molding that popped off every time we walked past it.
Review 13:We appreciated that you are pet friendly and provided bags for dog poo at several locations.
Review 14:Breakfast didn't open up till 7:00am, most people like to get up and get going WAY before that. Not really a complaint
Review 15:Great location, nice facilities. VERY COMFY BEDS!
Review 16:No bad experiences. The laundry room could use some updating and repair.
Review 17:Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, comfortable room. Beautiful views, free bottled water, and close proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park and the village of Estes Park
Review 18:I didn't like that the room had no view as advertised (some rooms face to the other side of the hotel). Also the rooms were not very well acoustically insulated, we could hear the steps above us and the pipes every time that our neighbors flushed the toilet
Review 19:I liked the location, very close to Estes Park downtown. The style of the rooms is very nice too! The beds are very comfortable.
Review 20:Loved the location and the view. Large rooms were fantastic. Kids loved the bunk beds and did not have to share a bed. Breakfast is simple but value for money.
Review 21:Sluggish Wi-Fi in the evening, locks on two windows broken (in our particular room), and not very sound-proof
Review 22:Very clean, attentive room service, good location
Review 23:Loudest hotel I've ever stayed in. Every time someone near your room ran their water it sounded like it was right in your room. The walls, ceilings, and floors are basically worthless for containing sound. We spent more time sitting outside than in because it was quieter. Sleepless night for us. Does not have the views they claim. Left feeling totally taken advantage of for the price.
Review 24:The staff were very pleasant.
Review 25:Could hear other guests at times - walking and water running. Shower was not hot one morning.
Review 26:Staff was very friendly and helpful. The property was well maintained and rooms were nicely decorated and clean. Overall very nice.
Review 27:Thin room walls, could hear people next door. Noise from others using stairs outside to reach upper levels, noise from rooms above.
Review 28:Conveniently located close to Estes Park and Rocky Mtn National Park. Comfortable beds.
Review 29:Family emergency forced us to leave a night early but due to the fact it was based through Booking I was unable to get any type of refund - Hotel Estes good booking.com poor
Review 30:Price for fhese accommodations was ridiculous. Dated decor, poorly done. Sound was terrible and there was no hot water in the morning. The Internet connection was a joke. The "continental" breakfast was shoddy, at best. Will never stay there again.
Review 31:Nothing.
Review 32:We had to park in the back and it was a little dark and scary. I was there with a friend and we would not have wanted to park there if we had been alone.
Review 33:Nice staff. Decent Continental breakfast. Large room with refrig. and microwave.
Review 34:We loved everything.
Review 35:Great experience, we'll definitely be coming back. Staff was friendly, room was clean and convenient location. Pool was clean though we only swam once. Pricing was reasonable considering the dates we were there and definitely compared to other hotels in the area. Breakfast had a good selection.
Review 36:Would suggest installing a safety bar in the shower. Although adequate, the breakfast could be improved upon with better quality bagels and waffles. You had to drive to downtown where the action is and parking is sparse.
Review 37:Bed were comfortable and rooms were clean.
Review 38:poor ventilation in room--unable to open window, had to use air conditioner even though temp was in 40's-50's
Review 39:large room with coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator
Review 40:Close to everything in Estes Park. We love to go up a see the Elk. Elk are even on the golf course just a few blocks away from this motel. It is a remodeled older style motel. Nice but not fancy.
Review 41:The staff was super friendly and helpful even dragging my heavy suitcase down to my clean room :) Easy walk into town and access to the Estes Lake Trail around the corner. Will stay here again!
Review 42:The rooms were in good condition, but the wallpaper near the sink needs repair and it was hot during our stay so the little AC unit didn't put out a lot of cold air, but it was fine.
Review 43:Great staff and lots of free and healthy snacks/drinks available for our hiking adventures in nearby Rocky Mtn Nat'l Park. We loaded our backpacks in the morning and were good to go for the day. Also great location 5 minutes to the park entrance.
Review 44:Walls are very thin between rooms. We could here everything going on in the next room. Pillow were uncfortable
Review 45:Staff was very helpful and courteous. Room was clean. I would prefer a hot breakfast.
Review 46:The view from our room and from the breakfast area was spectacular. The breakfast was good, lots of choices. We had everything that we needed, in beautiful surroundings.
Review 47:The fact that the room window was a parking lot view and the parking lot needed a lot of work. Not pretty.
Review 48:The continental breakfast was awesome. Friendly staff and very helpful. Clean rooms. Comfortable beds.
Review 49:Bathroom is tiny, walls are thin. Could hear all that was going on next door and every footstep from room above. Parking lot is a mess, needs resurfaced badly.
Review 50:Location is good close to where you want to be
Review 51:I wished the lobby had little cups of Original Coffeemate Creamer or Mini Moos Creamers. (They only had flavored Creamers). I also wished they had condiments to go with the Continental Breakfast. The TV had a limited number of channels (cable only). All of these are very minor and definitely not a deal breaker! Would highly recommend and would stay here again!
Review 52:The staff was so incredibly kind! They did their best to accomodate our needs. The room was spotless and had real (not laminated) furniture. The comforters were top quality.
Review 53:The staff was so welcoming and helpful. We appreciated the complimentary granola bars and water. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job of touching up our room each day.
Review 54:This was a great stay for my husband, daughter and I. The comfort and cleanliness was excellent and the location is great. The staff was friendly and helpful. We especially appreciated the sink being outside the bathroom so we could use it when there was someone showering.
Review 55:Very small bathroom and tv. Expensive for the size of room.
Review 56:room smelled nice and had a great window view. staff was friendly. nice pool and play area
Review 57:The staff was very accommodating. We were on a backpacking trip and they allowed us to store our gear there while hiking. Considering the fact that we would not be staying with them because of a outbound flight when we finished I thought that was over the top on their behalf.
Review 58:It was nice that they allow dogs. The bed was comfortable and we slept good. Everything was clean and updated. Lots of options for breakfast and the kids liked that. Good value over all.
Review 59:Breakfast selection no kleenex in the room Bed was uncomfortable thin walls, you could hear your neighbors clearly Air conditioner unit didn't keep room cool, had to ask for a box fan
Review 60:Good Location , easy access
Review 61:Too many stairs to get to 2nd floor room. Place looked run down. Room furniture was broken. Parking lot needed some paving and repairs.
Review 62:Provided free bottled water
Review 63:The front desk gentleman was outstanding and very accommodating. This is a family-friendly hotel and at a great location. We would readily stay there again.
Review 64:Honestly, I don't think it was worth the price that I paid. We could have stayed at a Comfort Inn for less and had the same kind of room and breakfast.
Review 65:The bed and linens were nice.
Review 66:They spent $90,000 on a new water pond in front of the hotel. They should have replaced the mattresses as they were not great, the bath towels were threadbare, bathroom needs updating (cracked floor tiles, shower curtain was an old tarp, cheap Luan door didn't shut) TV was flat screen, but was small, very fuzzy reception. Parking lot, corridors, stairs, etc need updating, they are falling apart. Seems the owner is only concerned about the lobby and curb appeal, it's expensive for what you get. Breakfast offering was really basic ( view of highway and their new water pond). We booked 4 nights on Booking.com, couldn't get some of our money back if we left earlier since booking.com get's a percentage. We've stayed at Murphys a River Lodge in Estes and that's a good hotel for your money. So we are aware of some other hotels in the city. Hotel Estes should be avoided.
Review 67:Mountain view was good, but it is good everywhere in Estes
Review 68:The pillow choice was not to my liking but I could have gone to desk to ask for something more to my liking. The complimentary breakfast is lacking compared to larger hotels.
Review 69:The town of Estes is beautiful. The hotel rooms were spacious. The bed was soft. The proximity to activities was close but not too close.
Review 70:Well organized and helpful staff Free waters in a cooler in the office, which was nice as we headed to RMNP. Breakfast was well balanced with variety; simple but complete.
Review 71:The noise level. Could hear the people in next room and the plumbing in the whole building
Review 72:The staff was nice and the breakfast choices were a nice surprise
Review 73:The bathroom needs renovation badly. The shower ran from ice-cold to scalding hot in matter of seconds
Review 74:The beds were comfortable and the room was spacious and clean
Review 75:The toilet seat was dirty when we arrived. I am pretty germ conscious so it probably bothered me more than the average person.
Review 76:It was close to the wedding we were attending. It was a good value for the money.
Review 77:Would like hot breakfast. Quiche. Biscuits and gravy
Review 78:Room was so clean and nicely decorated. Bed was comfortable. Loves the feel of sheets and blanket and comforter
Review 79:Very clean and comfortable. Close to town and shopping. Close to Rocky Mountain National Park!! I would definitely recommend for a stay while visiting the area around the park.
Review 80:More tables and chair in breakfast area. Light filtering shade in dining area. Bigger balcony outside of rooms. Very crowded with people sitting outside their rooms on the balcony, or larger deck area (to sit outside).
Review 81:The staff and clean rooms! Good breakfast variety! Bottled water was a great addition!
Review 82:Wi Fi was slow. It could have been altitude sickness or the light diffusing blinds. I found it hard to get to sleep with the amount of light coming through the window shades. The outside lighting decreased after midnight though. Also, I didn't care much for the hot and cold surges in water temperature in the shower.
Review 83:The play ground for the children and the location of our room - We were able to watch our child while sitting on the deck outside our room. Shower drained great! Location of the Hotel was close to the Park and not far from the downtown area with restaurants and shopping.
Review 84:Parking was very tight. South side of property needed to be rid of the old air conditioners and other furniture. The hot tub was lacking.
Review 85:The views were wonderful. The rustic look was perfect for the locale.
Review 86:Would love to have more protein choices on the breakfast buffet, other than boiled eggs that were extremely difficult to peel and yogurt. Maybe small packets of peanut butter?
Review 87:For 4 days our shower was broken, but nobody seemed to care. Also wifi is horribly slow, housekeeping don't do their job, and beds are extremely uncomfortable.
Review 88:Pictures of facilities online not representative of actual property. Very noisy.
Review 89:Staff was very good, pool and hot tub were great after long day of hiking.
Review 90:Drunk people knocking on our door at midnight and a two in the morning party at the outside pool across from our room. Will never use hotel Estes again. Unhappy customer
Review 91:It's a very kid friendly hotel and pretty small. If you have kids, it's great, if not, then it's probably not the place for you.
Review 92:Very nice staff. Comfortable room.
Review 93:We requested for a bed for kids. A rolling bed was provided which was not more than a hard, painful iron net to sleep on.It's mattress was very thin. There was no comforter or quilt with that bed. I shifted my kids to my bed and tried to sleep helplessly on that rolling bed but failed. We had 2 night stay and I couldn't sleep at all. AC installation is also inappropriate. It throws air direct over your head. Either beds or AC position should be changed. WiFi hardly works. TV didn't have interesting channels.
Review 94:The room was always found clean. Breakfast was also suitable for very young kids.
Review 95:Parking was a bit awkward in both location and direction. Also the busy main road makes it difficult and somewhat dangerous to exit property when traffic is moving rapidly and in volume. Inadequate room A/C made the room too warm for comfortable daytime use during stay indoors after activities outside.
Review 96:Staff was very friendly and willingly helpful.
Review 97:Didn't love the bed. It wasn't unbearable, but not the most comfortable bed I've slept in.
Review 98:The staff here is phenomenal, they really go out of their way to take care of their guests, including offering us free smores kits one of the nights we stayed there
Review 99:The bathroom is very small and the sink is outside of the bathroom in the bedroom area. I wish there was a way to separate the sink area from the beds so you didn't wake others up when you are the first one up and getting ready.
Review 100:Clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and courteous. I would stay here again.
Review 101:Great place to spend a few days away from the city. Wonderful ammenities for the price and the staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Will be coming back again.
Review 102:You had to go outside to go to the office. The continental breakfast was just cereal and Danish. The staff didn't come in until 7 am (and sometimes were late), so there was no coffee available until they came in. If you wanted coffee you had to drive to McDonalds
Review 103:Close to the highway, comfortable bed, not far from grocery store and McDonalds
Review 104:Unfortunately there was very little insulation in the room thus you could hear everything outside, upstairs and in the room next door. I wouldn't stay there again for the price and this noise which is sad because the rooms were very nice.
Review 105:The room was very nice, clean. Included both a refrigerator and microwave
Review 106:Staff was very friendly & helpful. Perfect location for viewing the fireworks w/o having to get out & battle the traffic! Peaceful environment.
Review 107:It wasn't bad, but the inside side of each bed was more 'worn' than the outside. Either turn mattresses more often or time for new ones. It wasn't a problem, we were pooped each day and slept soundly.
Review 108:The staff was helpful and friendly, the rooms thoughtfully appointed and clean, the breakfast and other amenities were plentiful and satisfying. They thought of small things i hadn't even considered. View was great!
Review 109:The window facing the mountains had a block out shade and the main circulation space was outside of it. I wished the blind had some light control so we didn't have to block it completely
Review 110:It was clean and comfortable . Complimentary parking and breakfast. Great place to stay before heading to the mountains
Review 111:The pool needed a serious debugging. That may be because we are in the mountains and their filter just couldn't keep up, but I found that it was more dirty then I'd like to swim in. Also, it would have been nice if the hotel had told me that they didn't utilize an air conditioner, but rather an air exchanger which made the room hot during the day.
Review 112:I thought the staff were very nice and the actual room was clean. I loved that we had a little refrigerator. The bathroom was clean as well. The beds were okay. i need a pretty firm mattress and this one was squishy but still fairly comfortable. The pillows were great! The hottub was AMAZING.
Review 113:The hotel has beautiful views of the lake...be sure to request 2nd floor in the back. The staff are very accommodating and the breakfast provided is just right.
Review 114:Estes Park was a madhouse of people - no place to park so we walked from the hotel. It wasn't bad, just a long walk on a hot day. I guess this is typical of the place on a summer Saturday.
Review 115:Everything about the hotel - cool, comfortable, friendly staff and other guests.
Review 116:No bad experiences at all!
Review 117:Great location; large room, very comfortable beds. I seldom post reviews because I am so sick of being hounded for feedback, but it's not so easy to find a reasonably priced hotel in Estes Park, and this is nicer than the price range there usually gets you. I would definitely stay here again, and I recommend it highly.
Review 118:Wished there had been a little more to choose from at breakfast. Also, needed more coffee in our room.
Review 119:Location was perfect. Just far enough away from center of town but a very short drive to the center of it all. Bathroom in our room was very clean.
Review 120:20-minute walk to restaurants, Starbucks, etc., extreme and sudden temperature fluctuations during shower, bath towels are very small & thin, tub has little or no room for shampoo/soap bottles, A/C units are old and the knobs and directional vents don't function properly. Continental breakfast is typically low on protein options.
Review 121:Decor is updated, beds are comfortable, plenty of pillows, rooms are very clean, two club chairs plus a desk chair, lighting is good, Hand-held magnifying mirror in the bathroom, plenty of space for luggage, large dog kennel, and lounging, outlets are adequate but not abundant, hook on back of bathroom door.
Review 122:The front desk staff people were extremely friendly and helpful. Terrific views from our room -- which was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was better than most continental offerings. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others. Within walking distance of downtown. Great overall value.
Review 123:Lack of Privacy No restaurant on site Small Check in lobby used for "breakfast", inadequate room for a rather large property
Review 124:Well located. Clean Rooms
Review 125:the hotel is very nice, rooms are big and very clean. The service the hotel offers is excellent, the staff is very friendly and helpfull. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast and soft drinks and snacks which We didn't expect and it was really good! We trully recomend this hotel and to visit Estes
Review 126:Only continental breakfast, based on website I thought it would be a full breakfast. Obviously an updated older property, wallpaper was peeling in the room.
Review 127:Had a microwave & fridge in the room, room was clean. No issues there... staff was friendly and helpful, provided extra towels.
Review 128:Bathroom was small, so it might be a challenge for a family. But it didn't bother us.
Review 129:this wasn't a fancy hotel, but the rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly.
