Reviews for Historic Hotel Bethlehem

Review 1:Beautiful old hotel perfectly suited to the town of Bethlehem. The restaurants have wonderful food, too! Even the bar area was so inviting, and decorated beautifully.

Review 2:The parking is convenient and the lobby is gorgeous. Our room was large and clean with a spectacular view. It's a short walk to all the shops. The staff are friendly and courteous.

Review 3:Only the weather on our day of arrival and Hotel Bethlehem had nothing to do with that...however the interior atmosphere and personnel made the sun shine inside!!!

Review 4:The holiday ambiance, the hospitality of the front desk/the restaurant and gift shop staff was EXCELLENT. We LOVED being able to purchase the specialty star balls that were displayed on the lobby trees...they will make a special decor item for years to come.

Review 5:I think for the money the room was tired. Wall paper peeling and paint chipping. Furniture was old. Lots of wear and tear.Refurbishing is needed.

Review 6:Historic Hotel in a great location.

Review 7:The fact that I couldn't stay longer.

Review 8:Awesome old hotel with a great history. Had the Sunday buffet brunch and though I'm not a fan of buffets, it was very good. Loved the atmosphere and a great hotspot on weekends.

Review 9:The hotel was not very receptive to tea and coffee being served in the lounge. I was asked to go to the ice cream parlour but they did not have milk and only paper cups.

Review 10:Staff were superb. Food good and choice of fine dine or casual.

Review 11:Being an old historic hotel, there was not anything that we did not expect. The bathrooms are less than luxurious, which may matter to some. Also some construction was taking place at the time of our visit, but this can only mean good things to come.

Review 12:This is perfect location. We shopped and ate and walked the historic districts.Parking was very convenient. We plan to return again, as our daughter is entering Lehigh college.

Review 13:The area off the stairs on 4th floor is dirty. Please keep stair access!

Review 14:I loved the room & that the windows opened. I liked the sofa in the room & the complimentary morning coffee provided in the lobby. The check-in staff was super.

Review 15:My wife and I loved the décor and the service was great. It felt like we were transported back to the 1920s. Also, from our eighth floor bedroom, we had a spectacular view of Main street and the mountains.

Review 16:a rather noisy wedding party Saturday night - we found this rather disturbing during dinner.

Review 17:Very considerate staff, really good meals. Stayed two nights.

Review 18:Small rooms. Bed too hard.

Review 19:View is great. Location is wonderful. Room was very nice but small. Lobby is very nice. Ice cream and gift shops -- good stuff.

Review 20:Had to pay for onsite parking although it was $7 for the night and accessible.

Review 21:Decent size rooms. Tap room offers good food and drink and accommodates children. Lovely Lobby and common areas. Love the old charm. Great location for walking and shopping in this historic part of town.

Review 22:Location to resturants in mainstreet. The Sunday brunch was good but the hostess would not change our seats so sat in the cold tap room . Should have complained to a manager.

Review 23:Room was rather small as was the bathroom.

Review 24:Room assignment was wonderful - great view of the area and the Star of Bethlehem in the mountain. Convenient parking. Central location to shops and restaurants.

Review 25:Nothing!!!! It was superb!

Review 26:What an overnight stay we had! From the moment we checked in it was a magical winter wonderland experience! The hotel decor was exceptional... The food and staff phenomenal! They spent time with us telling us where to go around town places to see and things to do. They then welcomed us back for a great dinner while listening to a fabulous jazz band The rooms were extremely clean and very comfortable. If you get the chance it's a Must Do!!

Review 27:I felt second rated, because MY reception was NOT at your hotel. Many of your staff were incredible, however, too many staff members seemed to come across as if they were trained to cater only to those brides who scheduled their receptions at your hotel!

Review 28:Convenient to the church where I was getting married, and Silver Creek, where my reception was held. Beautifully decorated.

Review 29:Hotel Bethlehem is a gorgeous old hotel and this time of year is decorated beautifully for Christmas. Everyone we spoke to on the staff was super-friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time.

Review 30:Being asked to vacate my Tap Room table , because there were people coming in for lunch. I was trying to explain to her that I was waiting for my waitress to return with my Amex information and to complete bill paying. A little too pushy

Review 31:Christmas Festivities,, First impression , the parking attendant, warm, friendly, and helpful, then good service throughout checkout time.

Review 32:I made the assumption that parking was included. It was not. $7 a day was added to my bill. In Chicago I expect to pay extra, but Bethlehem?

Review 33:The staff is the best! I showed up at 1500 for a 1600 check-in and they comped me a drink at the bar because I had to wait. The next day, I had an issue with the heat in my room, and the maintenance engineer was there before I could get back to my room. Fixed it; no problem! The hotel was beautifully decorated for the holidays which is why I wanted to stay there.. the ambience! Also, the complimentary mixed nuts at the bar are a nice touch.

Review 34:The sound of the train even in the night or early morning The air conditioner wasn't working There wasn't a ventilation in bathroom

Review 35:Nothing

Review 36:The fact that after I had already slept and stayed in the room overnight i found dirty mens underwear in my room.

Review 37:Piano music playing in the hotel nice. Room service and food was perfect.

Review 38:Did not like having to pay for parking in the lot. Ridiculous concept for a hotel.

Review 39:Hotel Bethlehem is a great place to stay. Staff is wonderful and so is the food. Wonderful shops nearby and lots to see

Review 40:Ice machine outside of first room assignment too noisy so moved to another room! Parking needs to have a bridge to hotel. Arrived late and very nervous walking thru garage to get inside side door of hotel at 11pm

Review 41:The music from a wedding reception rang through the entire building until after midnight. Hard to get to sleep with the noise. Paid for parking, but couldn't find a space as the wedding guests took all of the spaces in the garage.

Review 42:Comfortable room, good staff

Review 43:My only wish is that I had more time to spend there.

Review 44:At every turn, staff handled everything splendidly. I couldn't come up with a complaint if I tried.

Review 45:Parking is inconveniently behind the hotel with no direct passage and no elevator access to multi-level spaces. It was not a problem for me, but for someone who had trouble walking, it might be difficult, uncomfortable, or even impossible. Returning after a dinner elsewhere I was forced to park on the top level, walk down two flights of stairs, around the building and into a side door lower lobby.

Review 46:A place where one can imagine life in another age - beautiful ballroom, meeting rooms, lobbies, plenty of history about the site and the hotel and everything of gracious comfort out of the 1940s movie.

Review 47:Room a bit small. Full quoted price is too high, but we were satisfied with what we paid through booking.com

Review 48:Location, view from our room, fascinating historic building, great breakfast, large TV with many channels. Bethlehem is a great place to visit, with interesting neighborhoods, museums, good restaurants.

Review 49:The bathroom was a little too small.

Review 50:The location was ideal, and this hotel was definitely the place to be during Musikfest. Daily festivities were both close by, as well as offered within the hotel daily. We would not hesitate to return.

Review 72:Everything except the bed was too soft.

Review 73:Very friendly staff. Facilities reminiscent of times past with great nearby stores and resturants.

Review 74:No telephone in room. Also hole in bathroom floor covered by metal plate that wasn't attached.

Review 108:everything about it

Review 109:the price of the room-and then they still charged for parking

Review 110:great location,

Review 111:Nothing, all was good.

Review 112:The hotel was clean, and location was perfect. The street is great for walking and eating at the local restaurants.

Review 113:Bathroom was very small, but that's understandable in a historic hotel. One day we were there was quite warm for April and we were not able to get our room cooled down as much as we would have liked.

Review 114:The hotel was beautifully furnished and our room was well appointed and very nice. It also was very quiet. The bed and pillows were SO comfortable and we loved the silky sheets. When our coffee maker wasn't working, we called and an employee came within a couple of minutes. We had dinner one night in the Tap Room and it was very good! Also liked having the shuttle to take us to the bus line to return to the Newark Airport. Altogether, a most enjoyable stay!

Review 115:Historic displays and historic feel of the hotel - set in historic Area with many old Moravian Buildings and reference - easy access to Lehigh and Lafayette Colleges.

Review 116:The hotel was a little to warm and so was the room and I couldn't adjust the temp.

Review 117:The Hotel was fabulous. The bed was very comfortable very clean luxurious hotel with great food and staff. The only thing was I thought it was to warm in the room and hotel. Overall, fantastic.

Review 118:Coming 'home' to Bethlehem, having grown up there in the 50's and 60's is no longer the same. With parents gone, our family needed to 'find room at the Inn' and, over the years, our stay at the Hotel Bethlehem is a lot like coming home. Staff are friendly and helpful and the sights and sounds and smells which surround us make our holiday homecoming a wonderful experience each year. Thanks to you all!

Review 119:As a stay at hotel guest we could not go to bar for a drink . No place for guest paying for the room to have a drink or lunch Sent us out to the street.People on the street have all the fun at bar and enjoying lunch or dinner. They should have something better for the guest. Rooms were high price for the weekend.

Review 120:The location was great. Loved the little town fro shopping.

Review 121:The staff at Hotel Bethlehem are exceptional! They go out of their way to satisfy you. The hotel is romantic and elegant with a charm that extends from the lobby to your private room. Situated near quaint shops, it is a "must go to" destination.

Review 122:1. Water pressure was kind of low (7th floor).2. The front desk clerk did not ask how our stay was when when we checked out.

Review 123:The hotel's location is excellent The restaurants are withinwalking distance.
