Reviews for The Historic Taos Inn

Review 1:The fireplace barely worked and the lights outside of the room made it uncomfortably bright when trying to fall asleep (no blackout curtains).

Review 2:Proximity to the Plaza and food options were great.

Review 3:WiFi wouldn't work in my room. Had to keep going to main building to check my e- mails

Review 4:Location; walking distance to and about town. Music in evenings. Good restaurant.

Review 5:restaurant service was slow, food served was cold, and the manager was rude and abrupt when we tried to point this out

Review 6:Hotel has a cool vibe, and the music was great

Review 7:Rooms seem a little tried. A silly thing to complain about but the towels were very rough and smelled antiseptic.

Review 8:One cannot beat the location in town! The staff were very friendly ad helpful. It was a first visit for us and the staff gave us directions, maps and advice about where to shop, tour and eat. The music groups at the Inn were great! We shared a bottle of wine outdoors in the courtyard and it was quite charming. We would stay there again.

Review 9:Loved the cozy room with the fireplace. Staff actually took us to our room and offered to build a fire. So very friendly and genuine in her offers to help. Wish we could have stayed longer. Mm u

Review 10:Rooms are tired and musty and towels could be used for sandpaper. Parking lot should be paved.

Review 11:The charm of the lobby. Doc Martin Restaurant is great.

Review 12:Historic property with amazing courtyards. Loved the live music while sipping drinks. Close to the downtown art scene and historic plaza. We'll stay there again when we go to Taos.

Review 13:Food from the Adobe grill was fair. We had hamburgers.

Review 14:We could walk to most everything we wanted to do in Taos. Every single person on staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 15:A little slow in the restaurant

Review 16:close to Kit Carson Park and the music venue that we were in town to see, excellent parking, very close to the plaza, just perfect...and Doc Martin's was nice too. ..ate there twice.

Review 17:Beautiful room, great entertainment, great food. All in one, right in the center of town. Highly recommend The Taos Inn for anyone. We look f9rward to coming back.

Review 18:Too noisy. They have music most nights, which is fine. But for some reason they must be lousy musicians as they are always very loud.

Review 19:Excellent location. Good staff. Good restaurant.

Review 20:Property seems tired, the rooms 80's (or 70's) funk is just somewhat weird and not accommodating. Doc Martins was also disappointing, not its old self, though service was good.

Review 21:Centrally located in Taos and has the Adobe bar, one of the great people watching places anywhere.

Review 22:Carpets in the room. Bed was lumpy and saggy. Shower was cold and water got everywhere.

Review 23:Rachel at the front desk was fantastic. We needed some papers scanned and emailed and they took care of it for us, happily. Location couldn't be more convenient.

Review 24:No breakfast in house.

Review 25:Excellent hotel in the center of Taos. Our guest room was in a separate house, but not far from the reception and close to the parking. It was spacious with a functional bathroom. Comfortable bedding. Kind and helpful staff.

Review 26:There was no air condition unit so the room was hot and stuffy. When opening the bathroom window bugs started to come in. No shower door there for water went all of the floor which could cause someone to slip and fall.

Review 27:I like the fact it was convenient to the plaza and restaurants. I like the fact that coffee was complimentary and so was the wifi.

Review 28:Poor wifi, no coffee or tea or fridge in rooms, pillows were not comfortable .Noisy wall heater.

Review 29:Central location, no need to drive to hear music and look around Taos, nice quiet room with gas fireplace.

Review 30:The rooms need work. Chipped tile, saggy mattresses, an outdated TV. This is not a $200 a night experience. Do they have security? We never saw any. Even a deep cleaning & fresh paint would help.

Review 31:Historic & funky. Doc Martin's restaurant was romantic and had good/tasty food.

Review 32:No refrigerator in room. No computer in lobby to print boarding passes

Review 33:The quaintness of the Inn. Friendly people at all levels! Will definitely stay here many more times.

Review 34:Wifi signal very weak. Trout in Doc Martins was bland and not worth the money.

Review 35:Spent Christmas in Taos and no better place to stay to get the warmth of the holiday. Staff was friendly and room was very comfortable.

Review 36:Restaurant only open for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. Brewed coffee in the main building only with no lids for the cups!

Review 37:Rooms are very comfortable. The architecture and decor make it a very authentic Taos experience. Staff are very efficient yet friendly and helpful. Easy access to everything. Easy 2 minute stroll to the plaza.

Review 38:Overworked and very rude bar, lobby room lady. Morning tea and coffee pots empty both days. Also had a shopkeeper be very rude and one that would not get off her phone to help us. We usually go to Santa Fe. Thought we would try Taos.

Review 39:Location, room, food.

Review 40:The skunk on premises but that is Taos - no smell just an overly friendly Peppy la Pew

Review 41:This is a lovely, historic hotel. We loved the staff and the facilities and will stay here again.

Review 42:Basically just a old Adobe room with a cramped bed and bathroom with a shower that only had a half slide so water splashed out-no breakfast at the restaurant, Prepaid around $160 and when I went in a customer was offered a room for $101-try one of the other hotels that are cheaper -you can still walk up the strip to the bar and restaurants

Review 43:Location, Adobe Bar with live music

Review 44:I've booked a queen bed room, when I arrived, I saw the person a the desk embarrassed, because the're was not queen any more, the manager told decided to put us in a king room, in the main building, this room was undoubtedly available because a band was performing in the lobby, it was noisy, the wifi didn't work and I've been charged for the king room, I made a reclamation by mail, i'm still waiting for an answer.

Review 45:the situation in Taos.

Review 46:Dirty room (incl rugs & bathroom floor Torn carpet Worn bed cover Bumpy mattress and rickety metal bed frame Poor lighting

Review 47:Location. Doc Martins restaurant

Review 48:Room had an odor, mainly from the carpet. Mattress very uncomfortable. When we asked management for a different room we were told none were available. They went on to suggest that if we were busy during the day we would be too tired to notice the room conditions. Lack of security was very noticeable.

Review 49:Doc Martins

Review 50:perfect location to Taos sights and activities. Very good meal at Doc MArtin's and a terrific band to while away or dance the night to its conclusion. My father and I only stayed one night but we wished we'd have had more time to stay another night or two.

Review 51:Smelled like skunks at night- so couldn't keep windows open. Lack of food on location, but plenty of choices within walking distance.

Review 52:Good location, comfortable stay, clean & beautiful grounds. Staff helpful & friendly.

Review 53:Traffic around plaza all hours! But it is part of where you are and there is a reason for choosing this....like you can walk most places.

Review 54:Location, hospitality, the garden and water fall outside our room. Music, coffee bar. Awesome

Review 55:We were not told about access to yoga classes until the day after check in (I would have gotten up early to attend). We arrived at the bar exactly at closing time - guests had just been served - and were turned away.

Review 56:I stayed at the Inn by myself in 2004 and loved it. Our recent stay included my sister and her teenaged children and my daughter. We love the location, the music, the food, and the unique accommodations - including the southwest flavor of room decoration. Love the history and "feel" of the place.

Review 57:Taos traffic is difficult and this inn is in the middle of the congestion. The parking lot is not easy to find but there is plenty of parking when you do find it.

Review 58:Near to the facility we needed. Unique rooms. Very comfortable beds. Staff friendly and when we had a problem (not with the inn) the staff quickly helped us out.

Review 59:The hotel restaurant was expensive with little on the menu for vegetarians. Rooms in the main building could be noisy in the evening, especially during live music

Review 60:Location was great, right near the Plaza, with excellent facilities.Beautiful pueblo-style architecture. Cottages with courtyards looked to be the best bet. Staff were very helpful and seemed gay-friendly. Live music in the foyer in the evening Parking was on site.

Review 61:Basically I liked everything, but it would have been nice to have a small desk to work at in my room

Review 62:Location relative to Taos Plaza and shops. Liked Adobe Bar and Doc Martin's, and the live music. Like the ambiance of the courtyard areas.

Review 63:Occasionally low ceilings (watch out!) No in-room coffee, microwave or refrigerator. No ice machine (had to go to bar)

Review 64:GREAT location, nice staff, comfortable rooms, lovely courtyard seating. Lots of space for things you bring and things you buy

Review 65:WiFi didn't work and the staff said that a lot of people were on it----BS!!

Review 66:Very rustic in a great way. Great food!!!!! Music was really good-live performer!

Review 67:Booking.com allowed us to make res for suite but learned no suites available upon arrival. Front desk did eventually put us in two nice rooms for the price of the suite

Review 68:Historic inn in the most desired part of town Ambiance excellent Perfect New Mexico feel Great bar and restaurant Outdoor patio along side the street for good people watching

Review 69:no breakfast available

Review 70:Very helpful, friendly staff. Excellent restaurant. Excellent location in center of town.

Review 71:Would have preferred two beds but none were available.

Review 72:Friendly and helpful staff!

Review 73:the lobby is also the bar/dance hall, and it's really too small for that. Never a dull moment, though!

Review 74:One of a kind rooms.

Review 75:Room seem hard to cool, would have liked a coffee pot in the room ;)

Review 76:The history, location, ambiance

Review 77:There were no reservations when we arrived. Staff wasn't particularly helpful.accomadations were not good.

Review 78:Wifi service is really bad and the bed was very hard on the back.

Review 79:Beautiful room and grounds.

Review 80:Wished they had breakfast. A swimming pool would have been nice.

Review 81:Location historic and pleasant people. A nice couple of days all around.

Review 82:Nothing in particular.

Review 83:Cozy....cool, AC worked very well...bar waiter was very gracious and attentive.

Review 84:No drawers in room, coffee maker, & restaurant hours were very limiting.

Review 85:Only location can't say much about anything else.

Review 86:Staff curt, room crowded with inadequate seating, very poor service at meal time.

Review 87:Nothing.

Review 88:The accommodation, bar and food. The friendliness of the staff and management. The proximity to everything in Taos. The free parking .

Review 123:Rooms are tired. Carpet dirty. Rooms need to be updated mm

Review 124:Still has the old Taos charm. Food is excellent, entertainment in bar nightly. Location is prime.
