Reviews for Offshore Retreat
Review 1:They charged me for items that were listed a free. It was a horrible experience. I will not recommend this place to anyone, I would suggest to avoid it. They charge your credit card without authorisation for what ever they feel like and if you disagree they will threaten to take you to the police.
Review 2:Kitchen had missing utensils and fridge didn't seem to work. Good if you don't plan to stay in for meals
Review 3:The private and secluded setup with private spa bath and great location close to the beach
Review 4:The beds were extremely uncomfortable - new mattresses are required. The tourist information folder was all outdated and contained information from 2014. The kitchen is in major need of an upgrade
Review 5:Location was great - nice and close to wineries and the Peninsular Hot Springs. Bottle of wine on arrival was a nice gesture. The private outdoor spa is an added bonus
Review 6:Expensive for what was delivered. The many and uneven steps were a bit of a challenge for older knees. The bottle of wine is a nice touch but a second wine glass would have been appreciated. The coffee plunger was for a single person, and a cheap model that didn't keep the grounds at bay. The "king suite" kitchenette is just a tiny alcove with minimal surface space and what kitchen equipment there is a bit of a random assortment. A small table inside would be useful -it really was too cold at night to eat on the deck when we were there. Overall, very nice but not really a luxury retreat.
Review 7:Nice property at an excellent location. Enjoyed the spa (though had to adjust the temperature so it was usable) and soft robes, and made use of the large BBQ
Review 8:Few amenities ie no hairdryer, a coffee plunger but no coffee, Very limited space for meal preparation. No easy access to the beach from the accommodation. There could have been a path through the tee trees. A local map would have made it easier to find the beach!!
Review 9:The outdoor spa and BBQ area was quite good
Review 10:The room needed a good clean, the place was very dated and needed some TLC.Spiders/webs in every corner, huntsmans popping out.Dirty cups.1 outa 3 buttons worked on the spa.Terrible scenery.Walls too tin u could here everything next door, loo flushing taps running, not good for wanting privacy.shower pressure was shocking dribble.had to take own bins out and clean room.Would not recommend or return. Was definately not worth $500 for 2 nights. Not sure what our money paid for!
Review 11:Bed was comfy
Review 12:Being a city chick couldnt light the damn fireplace haha
Review 13:Josie and trav were really accomodating, the chalet was beautiful and the spa was the beeeest!!
Review 14:Property itself is in need of some TLC, from dusty interior windowsills to the security screen door not closing properly nor was it lockable. The outdoor entertaining area is in need of some attention as it has weathered quite a lot. Was a comfortable stay however; we could hear our neighbours flush their loo and turn on their taps. Not nescessarily a 4 star property.
Review 15:Loved the area and region being so close to the ocean.
Review 16:A small nit pick, but hot water took a while to arrive in the shower. Also, no wine glasses.
Review 17:The outdoor spa and breakfast area was magic. The bed was amazingly comfortable. Everything was laid just as it should be. Even the wine provided was excellent.
Review 18:Nothing. All was good!
Review 19:when we opened our door, the room was beautifully presented with complementary wine ready and jazz music playing. The ambience was beautiful and attention to detail was excellent! The welcome email was so personal and lovely, and the service was exceptional! The spa was also awesome at night!
Review 20:Poor cleaning utilities for the kitchen Lack of supplies in kitchen and cooking utensils Couch pillows, bath robes and towels all stained
Review 21:The hot tub! Appropriate heating and cooling
Review 22:Place could do with a deep and meaningful clean - oven, windows, shower...
Review 23:Fantastic position - easy walk to surf beach; easy drive to front beach. On main road but chalet is quiet. Great for our puppy. Chalet has real character - lovely and warm (coonara).
Review 24:Upstairs bed isn't very comfortable you can feel the springs. That's about it.
Review 25:Wood fire, big hot tub in the chalet, warm and cosy. Great weekend away. Would recommend!!
Review 26:- Jacuzzi didn't work at all as it kept short circuiting. Contacted owner twice and spa was not fixed (understandable due to it being a weekend) however no apology let alone compensation/discounted rate for one of the main "draw cards" not working. - For the winter nights it would have been nice to have a blanket or throw to make the lounge homely. - Bed was incredibly uncomfortable. - Lack of kitchen - only a camping stove, sink and fridge. This was especially important in winter when it's tougher to use the BBQ. Luckily some good take away nearby. I grew up holidaying on the Mornington Peninsula most weekends however would sadly not consider returning to this accommodation.
Review 27:- Great location - Nice welcome email sent prior to arriving with good suggestions on restaurants, cafes and local activities.
Review 28:Bed a bit hard but not bad Basic electric two hot plate stove, minor!
Review 29:Mostly Everything great! Great spa, wood fire, couch, outdoor setting Great positioning to most attractions Split system Great supply of wood for fire,
Review 30:We had a couple of electrical issues & water leaking from the toilet while we were there for the 2 nights, a plumber had to come out to fix it, aswell as an electrician so we couldn't use the facilities how we would have like too but over all the place has potential & we had a great time.
Review 31:Loved the outside area & the layout of the place. Very private & had a great time. Josie was great help too & easy to talk to & contact.
Review 32:A visit from the friendliest staffy was an added bonus indeed!
Review 33:Went for a girls weekend away and could not have been happier! Very secluded private cabins, spa fantastic, Josie made us feel so welcome. Wonderful place to stay, would highly recommend it!
Review 34:To be perfectly honest with you, nothing at all!
Review 35:I loved the fact that our check in was just walking into our room with the heater on, music on and just relaxing straight away! Spa was amazing! Bed was insanely comfortable! Everything was perfect!
Review 36:not being able to stay longer :)
Review 37:everything this place is sooo quite and cozzie me and my partner stayed in the chalet it was wonderful didn't want to leave and Josie is a very lovely lady more than happy to help with any of your needs :) A+++
Review 38:I found few plates and cups are not washed properly and I had to washed them before I use them. For complimentary wine that they offered, I ordered for non-alcoholic because we don't drink but all we had on that night was a bottle of wine to welcome us. So dissapointed on that two occasions. Extra towels and bed sheets for tu bunk bed should be available for family guest.
Review 39:Calm family home, comfortable and spacious.
Review 40:The bathroom was very ordinary - especially the shower - dark and cheap looking. The lighting in the lounge room was dingy and depressing as were the fluorescents throughout the chalet. The curtains are very old and in disrepair, and when open, the screens kept falling off the windows when the breeze got up.
Review 41:We loved having meals on the decks, the spa at night, and the very comfortable bed with beautiful quality linen. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. We were very happy that there was a ceiling fan in the bedroom and the airconditioner was gp great too.
Review 42:No air conditioning in the main bedroom. A lot of spider webs in side that i thought should have been cleaned before arrival, apart from that, all good :-)
Review 43:Enjoyed the spa , having a spa with a few beers and enjoying the beautiful views, magic
Review 44:N/A - everything was amazing, down side was having to leave!
Review 45:Everything - was a gorgeous & private location. Room was immaculate & comfortable. Will definitely be back.
Review 46:Extremely uncomfortable bed - broken springs, terrible camping stove top - no oven, broken spa - only two out of four jets working, awful shower - felt like you were showering in a box. All in all, paying close to $900 for three nights is unjustifiable. If its the location thats appealing - wait until you reach it, over four days we couldnt lie out once on St Andrews Beach as it was way too windy, and we ended up driving to sorrento. Not recommendable, might as well stay in a cheap B and B and save the wasted cash.
Review 47:Not very much. At best, the most redeeming feature (coming from a couple who dont watch much) would be the large TV.
Review 48:Having to leave.
Review 49:We stayed in the chalet which was perfect for a couple with a child. There were ample games to keep them amused and Josie went out of her way to accommodate us. Hot tub was great and we were within good distances of activities and sights. Chalet was very clean and equipped with everything that we needed. Will certainly be coming back here to stay. Thank you so much Josie :)
Review 50:Josie was amazing , was always there to help and recommend places to go and answer any questions we had. Room and outdoor setting with spa was perfect. We will be coming back for sure !!
Review 51:Energy wasteful, which will prevent us staying there again or recommending it. (Spa runs all the time, no insulation in the walls - just screams of energy wastage. Lucky for us the weather was mild.) Units becoming "tired" and outdoor facilities run down & not promoted. No reading lights on bed.
Review 52:Tasteful, nicely appointed, helpful staff. Free bottle of wine (which was good!) was much appreciated. Spa was nice, but does it have to run 24/7?
Review 53:Going home...
Review 54:Josie provided us with all the information we could possibly need to make our stay enjoyable. Kristen cooked us an amazing/authentic 3-course Mexican dish (not-to-be-missed!), and the serenity of the property/location was superb. Definitely will be back next year!
Review 55:The room was a little dirty i.e a couple of dirty glasses and some food left from the previous guest in the freezer. Nothing major that would change an awesome weekend!
Review 56:Perfect location, close to amazing wineries and beaches. Small room, however had everything that we needed. Josie was wonderful and accommodating providing local tips and advice prior to arrival. Highly recommended for a romantic getaway!
Review 57:One thing I'd suggest is to get a sign out the front that is more eye catching. We drove past the place so many times trying to find the turn in.
Review 58:Suite 1 was absolutely gorgeous with a stunning view. There were so many little touches that made the stay special such as the hammock, candles inside and out, and beautiful artwork of ocean life on the walls. The bed was luxurious, as was the hot tub and modern bathroom.
Review 59:The cobwebs everywhere No hair dryer The bed platform that my husband tripped off in the night half asleep. He jarred his back.
Review 60:The seclusion The spa only the chemicals made me feel sick. The Mexican dinner was great. The staff were helpful.
Review 61:The kitchen could be a little bit bigger but there is a BBQ for cooking and so many restaurant options close by.
Review 62:Being a travel agent I have been lucky enough to see many different properties around the world of all different standards. I was completely blown away by suite 2 at offshore retreat. Booked as a surprise for my boyfriends birthday this place is tranquil, private and decorated beautifully inside. Outside has a relaxing spa bath where you can sit and enjoy a wine. Close enough to visit the hot springs. Highly recommend!!!
Review 63:Josie really went out of her way to help us have a comfortable stay, there was a complimentary bottle of wine waiting for our arrival and an email sent with lots of handy tips for the local area. The outdoor area was very private so we didnt feel overlooked in anyway and the actual location is perfect, just a short walk to the stunning beach -perfect for an evening stroll. Fantastic weekend!
Review 64:We arrived late at night to find our cottage with the heater already on, television playing and a bottle on wine on the table. Just a perfect start to a relaxing long weekend. Josie was amazing, she emailed us helpful hints and suggestions on what to do in the area. Brilliant service.
Review 65:The mattress on the king size bed and on the fold out futon was painful to wake up on. The main bed was broken but they fixed it so my sister and bf slept on that instead on the futon. My friend and I decided to sleep on the kids bunks, no springs! also you have to pay an extra $40 per extra person which is fine but ude think that includes linen and towels for your extra guests. We had to pay an extra $30 per bed for linen and towels... I suggest include this in the price for having extra ppl stay.
Review 66:Jacuzzi's are always fun, the fireplace was is also another hit and the chalk board feature was also another fun activity to do together.
Review 67:That I had to go home
Review 68:Everything, from the hospitality from Josie prior to, during & afterour stay, the location, the spa.... Everything!!! We loved it & aspecial mention to the home delivered Mexican we had on Josie'ssuggestion. This was the best Mexican I've had & I've had abit! Kristen is amazing & being from South California the food wasamazingly authentic.
Review 69:Very difficult to find in the dark! No places deliver there so you need to brace the storm if it is pouring at dinner time!
Review 70:Loved the facilities, it was very fresh and open. Lovely host as well.
Review 71:Nil
Review 72:Nicely hidden away and being able to just relax in the spa and listen to the ocean at night.
Review 73:the kicthen
Review 74:the spa & the surrounds
Review 75:The cobwebs in the bathroom corners.
Review 76:The inside of chalet and the privacy of your own outdoor spa.
Review 77:For the price of a hotel room, I'm not sure I got that value
Review 78:Convient and quiet
Review 79:The fire and spa were amazing highlights and being super close to the beach! We had a lovely time! Would definitely recommend for friends and family
Review 80:Beautiful location , very relaxing, loved the spa! Great to be able to bring our dog with us too, and such friendly service , thank you Josie :-)

Review 99:Everything
Review 100:The small kitchen, had to clean dishes after stay and no homely items such as a throw rug
Review 101:The spa
Review 102:Great stay at the Chalet. Very relaxing environment. Josie was a great host. Highly recommended.
Review 103:Location is perfect. The actual lodge is beautiful. We wanted the outdoors area for Xmas lunch. Great umbrella which made an outdoor dinner possible.
Review 104:that I didn't book enough time to stay!
Review 105:it was such a relaxing and therapeutic experience. So much to do, I could comfortably spend weeks there!
Review 106:Was great for our weekend get away secluded and relaxing, very clean
Review 107:nothing we didn't like
Review 108:Suite was lovely very comfortable.
Review 109:There could have been extra towels for the spa.
Review 110:Loved the spa and outside area.
Review 111:Kitchen was a bit small
Review 112:Location was excellent Privacy of the accommodation Very friendly and helpful owner Clean and comfortable
Review 113:Spa lights didn't work, but not an Aussie at all
Review 114:The spa and bbq area, the room was clean, modern and full of life
Review 115:The price seemed a little steep. We have stayed in similar places in the past although we really enjoyed our stay.
Review 116:The fireplace and spa were fantastic. Josie was very helpful and friendly! A very short drive to local towns, overall a very relaxing weekend.
Review 117:Cannot find wood log to refill the empty log heater. A bit pricey for the service received
Review 118:I love the decoration of the house, stayed in the Chalet. It is big and spacious. Very comfort, and lovely place to relax. I enjoy every moment. The welcome bottle of wine is great with steak.
Review 119:Long life milk sachets in fridge had expired over year ago and were very much off.
Review 120:Lovely comfy bed and the spa was great. Close to beach and shops nearby. Lovely quiet spot.
Review 121:Nothing.
Review 122:The location was great. We stayed in the chalet. Although there were other cottages around,y still felt like you were secluded and had your own privacy. Spa under the stars was fantastic. Also, all the extra little touches were fantastic. Would highly recommend for a quiet getaway.
Review 123:Unfortunately the spa didnt work while we were there :( and we were looking forward to it and my husband had to turn on the safety switch. Pump wrecked. Not enough coffee and sugar :) and no tissues apart from toilet paper.
Review 124:Everything. The set up was presentable and roomy, very neat n clean. Jodie was an awesome n easygoing person. She helped us alot n thank u for everything n keep up the gd work. We went there to relax n enjoy time out and was a perfect place. An unforgetable time for us. We woke up with the fresh smell n could here the sea breaze. Breathtaking experience n wanna thank Jodie for her friendliness n proffesional service :). We honestly cant wait to b back again. We come back so relax n all we could here at night before bed in melbourne was the unforgettable sea breaze :)
Review 125:The bed. I think only because we're not used to it.
Review 126:Quiet relaxing atmosphere, and personal touches from josie and travis the owner made for a great experience.
Review 127:We stayed in the chalet and it was large, inviting and comfortable. Quiet and private. Log fire, large lounge room, great kitchen and two very comfortable large beds. The kitchen bathroom and laundry were well stocked with necessities. All we had to buy was food and drink. Josie the manager was very helpful and pleasant to deal with.
Review 128:Paper thin walls. We could hear everything being said in the next room, and every time the toilet flushed or they turned on the shower it sounded like we had a waning machine going - not good if you're wanting to sleep in or watch tv.
Review 129:The location was great. The outdoor entertainment area was lovely and very relaxing.
Review 130:very basic facilities for the money. copious instructions of do's & don'ts . beach access difficult. checkin & checkout times most inconvenient .cutlery dirty, crockery chipped.experience fell way short of the cost.
Review 131:very comfortable bed
Review 132:Needs a really good clean - curly black hairs in various locations e.g. Freezer compartment; cutlery dirty; quite dusty Needs a few extra things e.g a little hob to cook on; table and chairs inside (there is room for this) More utensils in the kitchen as these were limited Very overpriced for what you get
Review 133:Josie was very friendly and helpful - thank you The bed was amazing - so comfy and big! Very relaxed and relaxing place to stay - this is where the value for money is Nice big bathroom and shower
