Reviews for Apollonium Spa & Beach Resort
Review 1:some of the apartments need refurbishing, we had to check about 4 before we found one that was OK, photos on the website do not match the room type
Review 2:Ahmed is GREAT, helpful and caring
Review 3:Great getaway! Located in remote area of Akbuk offering silent and relaxing holiday. 2 bedroom apartment was great with not so good wifi connection but not very important except for the kids :) on the other hand kids had a great time on water slides and mini golf. Be careful of your apartment location as some of them are really far away from the beach. Everything on the resort was free of charge except for the beach beds. Market and restaurants are quite expensive but there are restaurants and market located 5 minutes outside the resort.
Review 4:When the night comes it was so silent for young couples like us, but if you are a person who likes silent, this place is perfect for you
Review 5:Silent, comfortable, clean, beautiful place especially my 3 years old boy liked so much
Review 6:Not much shopping possibilities in the neighbourhood, on the other hand made vacations more relaxing
Review 7:Ahmet and his team were very helpfull and always made sure their guest had a good time. Very confortable house, nice pools, a pure children paradise. Easy access to Akbuk with bus every hour.
Review 8:We've had lots of ants in the room when arrived, though they've been exterminated quite quickly, but we would prefer the room to be prepared and double checked prior to our arrival, as first impression was spoiled.
Review 9:Akhmet, the facilities manger, was friendly, supportive and attentive yo our needs. Response time was short. Highly appreciated his help in organizing group transfer to the local weekly markets.
Review 10:Road into resort very poor and needed careful manoeuvring round all the pot holes and rocks in road. The same problem when trying to drive off site to Akbuk. Upon arrival we made the mistake of going to the main reception area and although the site staff were very helpful , they explained that the booking is with a separate agent which was confusing and without their help we would have struggled to locate our booking representative as we had no phone or wifi connections. The accommodation was initially very impressive however, there was no top sheet on any of the beds and the cover was rough material and uncomfortable. The mattresses were extremely hard which made for a poor nights sleep. There was a hot tub , but it was not ready for use , and there was not enough time in the two days to prepare it for use.The wifi was poor and intermittent. The onsite shop was extremely expensive charging up to 50% more for basic things like bread , water, butter, the alternative was a twenty minute drive away to Akbuk.
Review 11:staff lovely and friendly , clean and well maintained grounds , on the beach and plenty of pool options . On site restaurant was value for money and good quality food and wine. Staff were available at all times but not intrusive .
Review 12:The resort is located in the middle of nowhere, which is fine if you plan to relax and stay a week or more, as long as you come equipped with supplies. The on-site supermarket is very small and overpriced. The restaurant was ok, but again overpriced. There are a couple of eating places a short walk from the resort which are far more reasonable. If you plan to cook for yourself, the kitchen is great, but under equipped - so bring cooking utensils. Both roads leading to the resort are dodgy. The one along the coast is a nightmare; the one through Bosbuk is better, but still full of potholes.
Review 13:The apartment was amazing and the resort is great. The price of 10 euros a night was phenomenal and far too cheap for the facilities - a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment. The resort was beautiful and had great facilities. The internet worked perfectly.
Review 14:The mattress was extremely hard we had booked in for 2 nights but only stayed for 1. The Enlish breakfast is not an english breakfast and my husbands Turkish breakfast should come with a hard boiled egg which wasn't even cooked properly! Also there was only the 2 of us in for breakfast and we had to wait ages for it. Also had to ask for the orange juice which is in with the price. It's a shame because it's a lovely place.
Review 15:We liked the Turkish bath and the apartment which was very clean.
Review 16:Booking.com said it was less than 1 mile from Akbuk but it was actually nearly 10 miles up a very bad and bumpy road. Very isolated and once there it is expensive as they know you can't go anywhere else to eat. Food very basic and over priced as was the bottles of wine etc.
Review 17:The villa was ok but the bed had a nasty mattress and very cheap furniture
Review 18:Road comes to the resort needs a municipal or transportation ministry service. The surface of the asphalt full of pot holes. I will write to authorities for immidiate repair to be helpful such a nice resort.
Review 19:Convenient location and to be close to the sandy beach. Facilities are clean service is friendly.
Review 20:The road coming in is a nightmare ! Potholes everywhere so take your time, ideally suited for couples with young kids under 12 as nothing for older kids.
Review 21:Loved the resort its ideal if you want to escape from everything as the little town of akbuk very very quiet but does have a few restaurants to try like " esinti " and "garden restaurant"...
Review 22:Location and accomodation very good - sea view. Had excellent facilities for kids but most were not operational while we were there in mid April because the resort was not open yet for the season. Ahmet was very helpful.
Review 23:The onsite cost of drinks was quite high.
Review 24:Smooth booking process and friendly reception staff and greeting. The price we paid was very cheap, although it was not peak season.
Review 25:Having stayed with club la costa on my first visit to Apollonium it was a bit of a shock to realise there was no house keeping facilities this time around. So for the week we stayed this time around we had no fresh towels delivered or beds made like I had in the previous year. However saying that the apartment is fully functional and there is a washing machine so you can wash ur towels and clothes if you need to (we did), you just have to spend sometime making the beds and straightening the apartment before you head out on any long day excursions so your not coming back to a mess, which for me defeated to the object of having a chill out holiday especially with small children. But that wouldn't stop me booking again.
Review 26:The resort is absolutely beautiful and Ahmed is very accommodating and friendly. The only reason I have given the WiFi a low score is because it kept dropping out which meant I had to constantly input the password. But to be honest that really didn't matter as we were on holiday and spent most of our week out and about. We purchased 2 two bed apartments for 4 adults and 4 children, to my delight we had been upgraded to 3 bed apartments with ensuites and plenty of space for our young kids to run around. The resort has facilities to cater for the children and it's own beach so if your not interested in sight seeing u don't have to leave it. I would definitely recommend it. The location is quiet and peaceful but not to far from the lively town of Altinkham if you fancy some action. The local people in Akbuk are warm and friendly and there are plenty of restaurants. It's my 2nd visit to Turkey and Apollonium. I can wait to book my 3rd.
Review 27:Prices in resort supermarket were highly inflated, such a shame. We went to little shop a few minutes away.
Review 28:Such an amazing place. Apartment was lovely, gardens immaculate,Ahmet very helpful. Everything about the resort was first class.Would love to go again.
Review 29:The accommodation was extremely dirty. The garden was overgrown with old toys scattered around. The sun umbrella was hidden in weeds. The dishwasher was jammed full and a glass broke on opening. The kitchen was full of ants. We all got food poisoning. There is NOTHING to do in Akbuk. The beach is by far the worst we've seen in turkey. The bathrooms were mouldy. The sheets were single waffle style but cotton as pictured. The apartment was not cleaned the entire week we were there. Hugely overpriced restaurants with poor food; 10 TL for a beer at the bar. On site shop charges 15 TL for a pasta sauce. As our rep said, it is NOT luxurious - tho booking advertises it as such.
Review 30:We were only staying a week
Review 31:Staff were trained by Basil Faulty at out door restaurant, quality of Food was very poor there too, it's only thing that really let this resort down.
Review 32:Resort has superb facilities, 7 pools, sofa sun beds by beach at a low cost for day, has a sea food BBQ restaurant over looking beach.
Review 33:Bar staff. Rude and slow especially during "happy hour". Evening entertainment.
Review 34:Open plan, plenty of pools, close to beach, relaxed. Water polo, volleyball, football, banana boat. Local bars/restaurants just off site.
Review 35:Wifi was intermittent resulting in a rather miserable teenager.
Review 36:Nice apartment with easy access to pools and facilities. Younger children were very happy. Minor issues were resolved very quickly.
Review 37:WIFI reception in the apartments was very poor.
Review 38:Peaceful beach resort located away from the small town of Akbuk with many smaller swimming pools around the resort for the kids.
Review 39:Restaurant's were poor, food quality was not up to much service was poor although very polite and friendly more training needed especially when ordering 4 meals and only 3 arrive twice. For such an idyllic location management are not making the most of their location could be so much better
Review 40:Location excellent, staff friendly and helpful and really relaxing. Akbuk had all the restaurants you need and further afield Didim, Altinkum and Bodrum all the shopping for the bargain hunter
Review 41:The last 10 km towards the Resort was terrible, with huge holes. Drive very carefully. It was also little difficult to find, continue driving for 15 minutes after the town Akbuk. Shopping options were very limited and expensive within the resort. The store that is in walking distance right outside the resort was much better. Buy food in advance and bring a pan if you are planning to cook. Units are reserved through a third party, call the person in advance. Otherwise great place, enjoy.
Review 42:Great resort, excellent deal for a private villa. Facilities were great.
Review 43:Food was the worse I have ever tasted
Review 44:Clean and nice resort
Review 45:absence any evening events and normal animation
Review 46:hospitality of staff
Review 47:Great apartment very relaxing stay
Review 48:Location was idyllic
Review 49:Helpful staff, we were pre season but still had a lovely time.
Review 50:Reasonable resort but would be advised to hire a car
Review 51:It was just fantastic totally relaxed
Review 52:Remote location. Comparatively reduced amount of of services and amenities offered to Booking.com guests, who are not part of the timeshare resort. Poor internet connection. Expensive meals and groceries. Having to supply our own toilet paper and drinking water. Difficulty in reaching our booking agent at times. Having to pay an extra 100 euros to get into a villa that did not stink like mold or deodorizer.
Review 53:Spacious villa. The fact that our booking agent, Ahmet, was willing to keep working with us to find a villa that we could accept. The first villa we were given had a strong moldy smell. The second one had been sprayed with a highly perfumed room deodorizer to mask the smell. Ahmet's helpfulness in getting private tour arranged.
Review 54:Cost of food and drinks on site. Thin walls between rooms meant you could hear your neighbours clearly. People who let their kids scream and shout. Lack of alternative off site restaurants
Review 55:Roof top terrace and views of the sea. Peacefulness of the resort away from the club house. Nice gardens. Nice swimming pools
Review 56:Nothing
Review 57:This was a very deluxe apartment / resort complex owned by a Spanish corporation. It was mid April and they were not yet set up for they full onslaught of tourists. They had a beautiful, large pool, lounge chairs on the beach, fancy restaurant and bar. We cooked in the apartment kitchen. Very beautiful accommodations that were deeply discounted. We paid about $30 per night. This area has lots to resorts on the coast both under construction, closed and vacant. Lots of Germans and British here. Americans are rare we were told. Had a great time here. Ahmet was very helpful and accommodating.
Review 58:1st day of season not all facilities were ready but this was reflected in the price.
Review 59:Ahmet the property manager was excellent and went out of his way to show us round the complex and suggest local outings. Excellent value.
Review 60:The apartment itself that we were allocated was fairly basic, unlike the ones we are used to when staying as a member of CLC, but as it was only one night it wasn't a problem. I wouldn't have wanted to stay in that apartment for longer.
Review 61:As we were due to book into the resort the following day through CLC, it suited us to be able to stay the night before at the same place, this was due to flights. The resort itself is wonderful and we always love coming here. A great place to chill and relax.
Review 62:Lack of cooking utensils & bedding in apartment, not very well stocked shop, not many restaurants close by
Review 63:Proximity of hotel facilities to beach - everything to hand.
Review 64:- limited internet coverage (remedied by host's providing of add'l access point) - insect plague inside apartment - power outages
Review 65:- family friendly atmosphere, safe environment for kids - excellent pool facilities - separation of social areas from residences
Review 66:Not enough restaurant options
Review 67:Excellent facilities
Review 68:Emet was a fantastic agent willing to help in any way to ensure our stay went smoothly. Would definately recommend.
