Reviews for Best Point Hotel Old City

Review 1:Upon our early arrival, we received a free breakfast. Furthermore, we were given a free upgrade to the deluxe suite. The staff was kind and helpful. The entire hotel is very clean and the rooms are nicely equipped. The main tourist sights are close. Highly recommended!

Review 2:The staff was the best! Everyone was super kind and thoughtful. The location of the hotel is very good too. You can go to various tourist sites just walking.

Review 3:Very few: 1. The view from suite 102 wasn't really a garden view (just the wall), and there was no fireplace -- please correct it in the description. 2. Soundproofing of the door was poor -- we heard all conversations on reception (there weren't many, but it could be improved)

Review 4:Almost everything was perfect: location, the room itself, cleanliness, food (especially free evening drinks and snacks). Staff was very helpful, always ready to answer any questions. The district is really quiet and nice -- much better than Taksim or Galata region. 5 minutes from main tourist attractions, tram station and the sea side.

Review 5:Need more storage in the room for the two bedroom apartment.May be wall storage. Not suitable for very young kids, babies and pram user as the stairs is narrow and steep but rally great for families with kids age around 5 up.just my opinion only.

Review 6:Hotel is east reach from the airport, plenty of Taxi around. The staffs is very polite and plesent especially Mr.Umit the receptionist always very helpful.Very lovely breakfast on the roof top and the afternoon snack is provided for the hotel guests .So easy to get around any where from there. Our Two bedroom apartment right next to the hotel is fantastic for our family with 11 year old girl.Daily cleaning service, complimentary water every day, nice shower room and super comfortable bed ! Definitely come back.

Review 7:Bed could have been a little longer as my feet did fall off the end!

Review 8:Staff were super friendly and organised sandwiches as we couldnt make breakfast due to our tour and flight once back. The rooms were beautifully presented and a free upgrade on arrival was unexpected but much appreciated!

Review 9:The location is excellent and all the members of the satff were highly helpful. Breakfast was very good. The rooms in the Suites are really comfortable, quiet, with lots of amenities. Perfect!

Review 10:Nothing. all was great

Review 11:Wonderful experience. the staff was very welcoming (especially Gurgan, Mustafa, and Vurad)and they understand English. The room service was perfect and very clean. Breakfast time was a wonderful part during the day where the view at the terrace directly faces the sea. Breakfast was very delicious and lots of food varieties were displayed. Location was awesome, 2-3 minutes walk to the Blue Mosque and Agia Sofia. Price is more than affordable, we got a really good package for 5 nights. Even if i had to try a new hotel experience in Turkey, i think i will surely book at best point hotel again in my second visit to Istanbul. I highly highly super recommend it to all friends and families. Amazing hotel !

Review 12:The hospitality of the hotel staffs are one of the very best I have ever experience. An exemplary definition of what hotel service should be. Experienced and professional, they were able to handle each request efficiently and with a smile on their faces. I can't thank you enough for the complimentary birthday cake for my wife during our stay. Lots of choices of food during the breakfast at the rooftop (nice view) It was a wonderful stay and I am sure you will be greeted with a warm welcome by choosing this hotel.

Review 13:employees were extremely kind and helpful. They tried to give us the best hospitality. I am really pleased to have chosen the hotel. I can sincerely recommend if you choose the hotel, you will not regret about it.

Review 14:I would recommend to add some more fresh fruits to the breakfast buffet as well as fresh juices. Also it would be nice to offer a deacription of the heater/airco in the bedroom to make it easy for the guests

Review 15:The staff is the best! It is really a family hotel and you can see that all staff members working there are trying to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Free wine and mezze in the afternoon/evening and the room was in good condition. Breakfast was offering a large variety of fresh/local dishes. For my work (Mystery Shopper) I have to check out a lot hotels but i can assure you that you will be in good hands when choosing this hotel.

Review 16:Nothing really

Review 17:My Mom was along in Istanbul for her first time, and she isn't speaking English. For sure my choice for her was Best Point, because their attitude to the guests are amasing and staying in the hotel becoming great pleasure. For example: she came with night flight and a little early to the hotel, instead of just sitting and waiting they suggest free breakfast on arrival for her. Thank u, guys, very much! You are really the best.

Review 18:Nothing displeased me

Review 19:Hotel staff exceptional. Services and willingness to provide were outstanding. The greeting chat & complimentary drink and evening snack option were delightful. All experience on this visit were very good and i would definitely recommend and definitely return again . Thankyou

Review 20:The stairs might bother some people with mobility issues staying on the upper floors.

Review 21:Very obliging staff, lovely view, comfortable bed and nice linens. ideal location a few minutes walk from Blue Mosque and all but very peaceful and good soundproofing. Varied buffet breakfast on the terrace, freshly squeezed juice & a really nice touch to have snacks, wine & coffee available in the evenings. Would stay again.

Review 22:Nothing

Review 23:The hotel is beautiful and quite has an excellent location near to the blue mosque and metro station ,the breakfast is wonderful ,staff is very helpful and always smiling especially Mustafa.

Review 24:Absolutely nothing!

Review 25:If you were like us, overwhelmed by the hundreds of seemingly good options of hotels for a stay in Istanbul with mixed and confusing reviews, do yourself a favor and just book this one and everything will be alright! we are very glad we choose this hotel after long nights of searching.

Review 26:The breakfast room was far to warm.

Review 27:Staff so so friendly and helpful. Excellent wifi. Great location, many bars and restaurants in the area and tram stop not to far either

Review 28:I really liked the staff they were super nice and always helped us with anything we needed help with. Probably the best staff I ever seen in my life:) Recommend everyone to go there!!!

Review 29:Couldn't get wifi access on the terrace at breakfast time.

Review 30:This hotel is perfectly located in the Old City Sultahnamet Istanbul. You can walk to the major sights and take the metro to Galata and Taksim Square. I love running in and around this area every morning.

Review 31:This hotel is well located just as it was named "Best Point". It is next door to the most famous sites such as Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern and Grand Bazaar. It has a great view terrace where you can eat your breakfast with variety choice and enjoy the sunshine at the same time. Most of all, the hotel staff are very friendly, enthusiastic, and hard-working! Especially those who like my dear Turkish brothers, Mustafa, Muhammed, Gurknn and those who I can not name out. It was a fantastic experience of staying at this hotel.

Review 32:I cannot complain for a single thing:) They really do a great job!

Review 33:Very friendly personnel giving very good hints. Good choice of meals for breakfast. Great view from breakfast terrace. Peaceful area (except early morning prays from minarets;)). Definately it will be my choice if I visit Istanbul again.

Review 34:Standard room shower was a bit small but it's OK. Just a suggestion maybe a hook to hang the coats instead of hanger.

Review 35:Large comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious with great view of the blue mosquewith and sea.

Review 36:Nothing. Although be aware there is no lift

Review 37:Room- excellent, especially because we had the room with the balcony and view of the Blue Mosque. Definitely worth it. Staff- helpful, polite and friendly Food- breakfast is very good. In addition, there is free food and drinks (including wine) for guests every evening from 1730.

Review 38:everything was perfect

Review 39:Great service excellent location great hostability good breakfast Appreciate the staff help Mustafa in the reception Muhamed and Sadiq for serivce and special thanks to Guhan for his great support and advices

Review 40:The alley leading to the hotel is rather long and with some slope, which is a lilttle tiring for walking with a luggage. But it won't be a problem if one uses a taxi or shuttle bus

Review 41:The room was clean and neat. My mum and I really love this place. The breakfast was excellent with a nice view of Blue Mosque and the sea. The staff at the front desk was really helpful. I will definitely come back if I visit Istanbul again.

Review 42:- A bit difficult to find for taxi drivers. Difficult to find back without detailed map - Family in next room with crying child whole night, but did not bother me too much - Remote control too slow to change within channels (400, mostly Turkish & Arab)

Review 43:- Exceptional service. Hotel policy is obvious to have happy customers for good ratings. Very smart as hotel is a bit hidden in old town (especially the Suites) - Advise for good restaurant by hotel staff cam eout to be a very good restaurant. - Just for the friendly service, I'll come back - Breakfast on roof of hotel with nice view

Review 44:The trek up to the breakfast room would be tricky for some, and there was no lift

Review 45:The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. Lots of little touches including tea and cakes were so thoughtful. We stayed in an apartment, which still felt part of the hotel but with added advantages. The view from the breakfast room was amazing.

Review 46:I didn't like being in the annex. This one is bitterly closed and the man inside is not always inside, so you can ring and nobody answers the door. Beside it's noisy.

Review 47:The location is good but there's two hotels. So if you are lucky you can be in the main building if not you have to walk in the morning to have your breakfast.

Review 48:Only no elevator, but it had only 3 floors so not a big issue.

Review 49:Everything was great, location was great, close to all historical attractions we ( only 5 minutes walk), balcony was big and we enjoyed quiet times.

Review 50:Construction work during stay Separate building that has to walk for a breakfast

Review 51:Friendly and helpful staff Snack, drink, light food from late evening till midnight Room and facility Breakfast Daily clean up

Review 52:No bad experiences.

Review 53:An ideal Location, service, food, extensive breakfast with multiple choices, but most of all friendliness and willingness to attend to needs of guests. From the owner, Fatih, to his cousin, Umit, and Jusef and Kedir, the latter two operating the breakfast room, there was a high level of professionalism and commitment. We would not hesitate to recommend Best Point nor return knowing that we will be greeted as family. What a wonderful experience! Thanks.

Review 54:The beds are so comfortable it's hard to leave them to view the sights!

Review 55:The hotel was lovely with a unique 'homely' feel and decor. The staff couldn't do enough to help . Perfect situation for all Palaces and sights within 10 minutes walk coupled with a wonderful view of the Blue Mosque and Bosforus from the breakfast terrace. Perfect! If we return to Istanbul we would definately not consider staying anywhere else. Highly recommended.

Review 56:Breakfast selection was ok. Not the best

Review 57:Best thing about this hotel after the excellent location is the staff ! Simply great and very helpful with a smile .

Review 58:N/A

Review 59:Perfect location, with beautiful views to the Bosphorus and Blue Mosque. Complimentary wine, tea & cakes in the courtyard each evening was wonderful.

Review 60:No left .. but stairs are good exercise

Review 61:Staff very friendly and helpful specially Mustafa and johan .. location very good .. hospitality is amazing tea, coffee ,cola and fruits are free for hotel guests. Overall i recommend it highly.

Review 62:-The terrible smell from the toilet, however due to its location in the old city where the sewage system is really old and is not their fault.

Review 63:-The position of the hotel is right in the heart of the old city. Walking distance from the main attractions, with afternoon tea and well mannered staff. -All the information they will give you is real and accurate. -As a family we chose the suite that is in a separate building. -The rooms were cleaned to perfection with a touch for the small details like the fresh biscuits and Turkish delights replenished. -The toilet has all the amenities and clean towels every day. -Breakfast was fresh and cakes made in house, but be prepared to climb your self 4 floors as ur gym to it.( all the properties in the surrounding area have the breakfast on the roof, so no escape)

Review 64:Great location close to both historic sites and good restaurants. Very helpful staff. Provided useful information on transit, advice on prime sites to visit

Review 65:Everything was perfect for us: the comfortable room, the clean bathroom, nice and helpful staff, cleaning, nice breakfast, good WiFi , location near historic area and nice view restaurant.

Review 66:Factories were a little tight, could also be described as cosy.

Review 67:Staff were very welcoming and accommodating. Nothing seemed tooexcessive or demanding, even volunteering amd dropping us off free ofcharge when we missed our ride. Even my 9yr old was taken abackdeclaring 'the people had to be robots or some kind of specialhumans as they were too nice. Although my kids and I were lodged on theground floor the overall warmth and care made us feel secure.

Review 68:Sometimes difficult to get access to the Wi-fi

Review 69:Everything was superb...the location ,the staff, the rooms, the food. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

Review 70:Nothing.

Review 71:The location was excellent and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. They even made a birthday cake for my son's 13th birthday. I loved the breakfasts - such a great choice of food and the bedrooms were always well stocked with tea, chocolate and biscuits! A wonderful stay. I would love to go back.

Review 72:They had no iron - But honestly there is nothing to really complain about ;)

Review 73:Such a great welcoming. Never slept so well. Amazing bed !! Very nice staff Great location

Review 74:It is not just a hotel, it is your friend, your guide if you need any help. I liked it a lot, and for sure I will come to it when I visit Istanbul. I liked everything.

Review 75:Very helpful friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. Lovely rooms with great toiletries. Love the free coffee/tea/water provided to guests as well as the beautiful breakfast buffet and late afternoon "snack" buffet. Exceptional.

Review 76:It will be better if there is an elevator to reach the breakfast. the tram need a little time to reach "10 to 15 minutes walking". Ether that every thing was PERFECT.

Review 77:Every thing is so perfect. The welcome, the free hot drinks and snacks , the value of the money is very good regarding the facilities. when I felt sick they allow us to have the breakfast at the room. the offer us to have a free transfer to Ataturk Airport if we pay cash. The view of the breakfast is AMAZING and there is more than 20 type of food. The stuffs spoil us a lot and give us a free drinks 24 hours at the room. The interior and the size of the deluxe suite and family suite with garden (5 adult ) is super AWESOME. After checking-out still the staff was sweet and give us snacks and drinks until the driver came "After hours". If I will come to Istanbul again I defiantly stay in this hotel.

Review 78:Very nice small Hotel with excellent facilities close to the main tourist sites. Rooftop restaurant a big bonus with superb views. Staff very friendly and efficient. Room was very good for a family of 3. Lots of small boutique bars and shops all around.

Review 79:Nothing!

Review 80:The staffs service was beyond outstanding. They make you feel very at home and assist with anything you need! The location is fabulous and the hotel itself was fantastic. Highly recommend staying here to anyone planning on visiting Istanbul.

Review 81:If the breakfast contents has even a slight change, it would be much better.

Review 82:Staff's great hospitality, Wonderfull breakfast, free wifi and its good speed

Review 83:One of the most generous and comfy hotels which we have stayed in. Rich breakfast and snacks and drinks, wonderful and friendly staff including the brotherly receptionists and the waiters in the dining room.

Review 84:There is no elevator but this was not an issue for us.

Review 85:The location was excellent. Room was very spacious and comfortable but the highlight was the staff. They were very friendly and accomodating and ready to help with any issue.

Review 86:Extremely kind and friendly staff. Great location! This is a beautiful hotel in which I would always stayed with pleasure !! Thank warmly to all staff who did everything for us so our stay there to be wonderful! Thank you very much!

Review 87:Not bad , but could be improved. Rooms weren't serviced , no toilet brush in bathroom. Most of all no one on reception at anytime if you needed anything. Had to ring . Very poor . No information in room re TV or any services or any tourist information . If arriving late & looking for accomm. Only small notice on front door with ph. No , supposedly 24 hrs. You need to have phones to access & if just arrived may not have local cover.

Review 88:Location was excellent. New facility, so good.

Review 89:Staff setting up breakfast were a bit noisy one night - woke us up

Review 90:Staff were most welcoming and obliging could not fault them. They organise tours for you with ease and get price discounted. Ample sized room and bathroom even had a private turkish bath. We had a balcony (large) which over looked blue mosque. Breakfast on roof/balcolny was hearty and varied. Very clean. Great location to a street full of restaurants bars, shops, bazaar. Blue mosque and an easy 15 minute stroll to grand bazaar

Review 91:I have stayed at Best Point everytime I am in Istanbul. They are the best hotel that I have found. Everytime I go, something is more improved. For instance, they provide free mezes to their guests from 5 - 11 pm but this time the selection was large from savories, sweets to even fruit. I travelled with my sister and we stayed in the hammam room and she said it was the best bed she ever slept on. It's close to the sites in the Sultanamet. I just really love this hotel from the rooms to the staff.

Review 92:Have to climb to terrance for breakfast, no elevator.

Review 93:Excellent location with excellent breakfast. The bed is very comfortable and my son enjoyed the bathtub. Free drink, fruit and snacks are very nice.

Review 94:We felt like at home. Amazing hotel staff. They created wonderful environment and were able to share a beauty of culture and set high standard in services and absolute sincerity in treatment of guest. Day or night they are ready to help.

Review 95:Proximity to major sites!!! 5 min walk to blue mosque meaning u can go there as early as u want to beat the crowd. Best view of the mosque and the sea from the terrace.afternoon tea served daily in the small court yard from 5pm~11pm

Review 96:They didn't have an iron and ironing board available at all. The proximity of the toilet to the shower made it really difficult to use! If you were a big person maybe you would need a different room.

Review 97:The staff at this hotel work really hard to ensure you have a comfortable stay. There were so many added little extras that made us feel looked after, they upgraded our room for no extra cost, gave us a slightly later checkout and there is wine and complimentary snacks available for guests in the evening. The rooms are old ottoman style, lots of plush velvet and solid wooden cupboards, which is really nice to stay in when you're visiting Istanbul. Our room was darker and cool which is perfect for a summer visit when you come back hot from sightseeing. As for sightseeing, this hotel is right next to the Blue Mosque, close to the Arasta Bazaar, Haghia Sophia and a 15 minute walk to the Grand Bazaar. The breakfast was one of the best we've had, so much to choose from.

Review 98:The kitchen facilities need to be explained a bit better. There was no stove for cooking for example. The apartment was lovely for a short stay.

Review 99:The property was impeccable and yet very true to Istanbul culture. The location was absolutely perfect, the breakfast was amazing and the staff were exceptional both in training and courtesy.

Review 100:Staff was amazing as was location. We stayed in the family annex in a 2 bedroom. Loved it! The hotel manager found a tour guide for us - his name was Tolgah. We spent two days with him - can't say enough good things! Ask for him!

Review 101:i had booked a 2 bedroom apartment. it was the most uncomfomrtable apartment i have ever stayed in. two tiny rooms with no space to move. shoddy living room with just a dining table. no space for a couch. one small shower where u could enter only from the kitchen with horrible plumbing arrangements. a seperate triangular shaped toilet with no space to keep toileteries. no space for dresser or even a small corner to keep suitcases. our suitcases were just lying in the middle of the living room and all toileteries were on the dining table. kitchen came equipped only with a kettle and microwave, no washing machine. in addition they do not stock teabags, milk and sugar in the room. you need to ask for tea and they will make the tea and bring bring it ( almost like room service) then why do i need a kitchen if i cant even make tea. over all it was a great stay in istanbul bcoz we werent in the room for very long

Review 102:The best thing about this hotel was the staff. they were very helpful and warm and welcoming. they booked our whirling dervishes show in a minute, they got us reservatins at some good restaurants. they would call us a cab and even brief the cab driver where we wanted to go bcoz cabbies only understand turkish. the location is great. very close to all the main sights.

Review 103:Staff went above and beyond to make our stay as good as possible. The breakfast was great and at night they offered free wine and food. The location was very close to everything that you needed to see - the Blue Mosqua, Hagis Sofia, Topaki Palace and the Grand Bazaar. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Review 104:Location was great. Walk to Bahia soohia, blue mosque and other sights. Staff very helpful. Happy hour every evening from 5-11 pm with free drinks and nibbles. Good size rooms and nice shower

Review 105:The only negative is that breakfast is served on the 4th floor and there is no lift. But this is only a minor issue.

Review 106:This is a lovely comfortable hotel in a brilliant location. The staff are so friendly and simply cannot do enough for you.

Review 107:The only one disturbing factor is the neighboring hotel's kitchen ventilation fan on the roof. On the terrace it is very noisy and smelly, but operates only periodically, unfortunately more often in the evenings.

Review 108:The room and the view is excellent. The staff is kind, the breakfast is delicious and plentiful.

Review 109:Streets in the area are very narrow without sidewalks and cars zoom by almost plowing into pedestrians so be careful.

Review 110:Accommodations were very comfortable. Love the breakfast selection and the view from the terrace that greeted us each morning.

Review 111:Location, service from staff and room was excellent, nothing to fault really. Probably not so easy for guests with mobility issues due to stairs and no lift. would stay again.

Review 112:The winding staircase up to the breakfast roof top terrace,

Review 113:I stayed in the suite, that were around the block to the main hotel. A two minute walk. Staff at both front desks were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble to them. They gave great directions and advise for visits. Hotel is about 10 minutes walk from such attractions as Haighia Sophia. Sensational. The room was extremely comfortable and very large. Huge bed that was so soft. Super luxury linen. The bathroom was great with a huge shower. Really big fluffy towels and heaps of lotions and potions. Breakfast was lovely. Lots of local food but also plenty for the less adventurous. The fresh orange juice is great. In the evenings there is light food available and wine. I didn't need dinner after a few pieces of each. Seriously - do yourself a favour and stay at this place.

Review 114:All staff welcoming most helpful and attentive, perfectly located for sightseeing, yet tucked away from hustle and bustle. annexe rooms spacious beautifully appointed, special little touches and so comfortable. Well done to all, loved our stay

Review 115:Whilst we had a "bad experience" with an issue that arose with our room, it was addressed promptly and effectively.

Review 116:This hotel, with its great facilities, friendly staff and great location, helped make our trip to Istanbul a very memorable one. We greatly appreciated (and took up!) the advice as far as what to see, where to eat etc

Review 117:Steep stairways. Fish restaurant recommended by staff were noisy and average. Several very good restaurants in the neighbourhood!

Review 118:Close to everything if you're interested in history. Very serviceminded staff.

Review 119:You can't beat the location in the old town. Great breakfast on the terrace with view of blue mosque. Staff extremely helpful - recommendations, bookings etc. Highly recommend.

Review 120:Just a little bit of a language barrier and communication miss or two. It's still a very solid hotel.

Review 121:The location, the breakfast (although no Kaymak is a total miss)

Review 122:The location so close to the Blue Mosque could be a bit noisy with the call to prayer. The bathroom was a bit small but overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Review 123:This is a small boutique hotel in a wonderful neighborhood. The staff was very helpful and the roof top breakfast was one of the best we had. We were walking distance to the Blue Mosque, Arasta Bazaar and many of the other historical sites. The room was a good size ( triple) .

Review 124:Breakfast is on rooftop which requires walking a lot of stairs. Not good if you have small children or elderly.

Review 125:Staff Service is fantastic. Very friendly and reliable. Always get back to us on every question asked. Highly recommend.

Review 126:There was nothing I did not like.

Review 127:The staff was wonderful - efficient and friendly. The location was superb. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the blue mosque was spectacular!
