Reviews for The Inn of Rosslyn

Review 1:Since it is very close to a busy road, during the night you can hear the traffic on the street and it disturbs if you are a light sleeper.

Review 2:It is 10 minutes walking from the Rosslyn Station, which was a reasonable walking distance. There is also good restaurants close to the restaurant. They have a coffee maker in the room, which was amazing to make some coffee in the morning.

Review 3:Due to the "No-Smoking" policy I was forced to smoke in my car, due to unfavorable weather. Other than the "No-Smoking" policy, this place is GREAT!!

Review 4:Very awesome staff!!!

Review 5:Cosmetics: the room and overall appearance of the facility could use some updates

Review 6:Staff was very friendly and made me feel comfortable as a single woman traveling alone. Very easy commute to DC

Review 7:The beds. The AC unit. It was constantly hot in our room. We tried to change the air. Every night we woke up sweating. Our first night when we were placed it was disgusting, stained beds not made, etc. We switched rooms which was much better. Overall this place was meh. It's worth the price but that's because it was cheap.

Review 8:I enjoyed the location in prox. to my family and also to Washington DC. I also appreciated teh man who switched rooms for us due the first room not being done and was disgusting.

Review 9:They only serve breakfasts till 9:30 am on weekdays which we came to know after reaching in the breakfast area at 9:45 am and found that there kitchen was closed. we reached there at 9:30 coz on our room keys, the receptionist wrote that breakfast timings are from 7:00 to 10:00 am and explicitly told us the same. not a big deal for us but thought of sharing this with every one. we spoke to the receptionist there in the morning but he was very rude with us at that time.

Review 10:Considering other motels, they were much cleaner. And room was adequate.

Review 11:The staff are rude and the hotel isn't very clean. For almost the same price you can find good hotels around the same area. It was very cold and the room there was no room heater.

Review 12:Good location. Very close to the metro.

Review 13:Location is perfect if tou are with a car. we let it in the first day, it was a rented one, and was a little bit far the metro station

Review 14:The man from the front desk was really helpfull and really wanted to help, clean, good wifi

Review 15:the unexpected 50 dollar deposit ontop of booking fee. i wish they would let you know about this earlier before you book. It wasnt that big of a deal but it just caught me off guard.

Review 16:very close to several delivery places and metro.

Review 17:The beds & love seat were extremely comfortable. The bathroom, variety of television shows, and space made it an ideal place to stay. Thanks to the gentleman who checked me in!

Review 18:Exterior was not very nice and construction next door but great value for money

Review 19:Managent extremely helpful with any questions I had, including directions, best method of travel, etc.

Review 20:It wasn't as nice as other places for the same price, accommadations and staff wise. I wouldn't stay here again.

Review 21:It was close to my destination.

Review 22:Right on the highway made it loud and the area was a bit sketchy. The "mattress" was TERRIBLE. we had a king bed and I really think it was just a box spring with a thing mattress cover over it. So uncomfortable.

Review 23:I stayed here for the Marine Corps Marathon, it was very convenient, a little less than a mile from the start and 0.5mi from finish. Room was very clean

Review 24:Easy 10 minute walk to Rosslyn Metro and restaurants/cafes. It is usually very expensive to be this close to DC, but this hotel offers very good location and simple but clean and comfortable rooms for an affordable price. Not at all fancy, but you have what you need. Also friendly staff.

Review 25:I felt the area was something of a 'desert'- difficult to find somewhere to eat, a 'town centre' etc. while descriptor of 'Inn' may immediately imply a motel to Americans it does not to Europeans. For what was on offer I felt the price was high and th facilities minimal. I have paid the same price for hotels with much better facilities in the US

Review 26:Your staff were very helpful. I did however feel that I had to put a lot of effort into making a connection with them first. They see a lot of people and were probably tired of standing to their needs..

Review 27:Smelly sheets with holes. Cocroaches in bathroom. Not enough plugs to charge your electronics. The plug near bed had only two holes so could not take my laptop adapter in it.

Review 28:They overcharged us saying there will be 3 people sleeping capability in one room but gave us only a queen double bed. I think it was a booking.com issue. The bathroom did not have good curtains and did not provide us enough towels for 3.

Review 29:The breakfast area was about 3 feet square next to the check in desk. Really no place to sit and eat - could really only "grab and go" back to room or elsewhere outside.

Review 30:We had a minor glitch in our booking (accidentally booked a room with one bed but needed two). Even though they were fully booked, they quickly fixed things and got us what we needed - even though it was our mistake.

Review 31:They need to upgrade their card system. Both of our room cards lost their magnetism. We were warned to keep away from credit cards to prevent this from happening, so I kept my key separate from my wallet, but still had to keep it in my bag, and this still happened. Very disappointing.

Review 32:Was a comfortable bed, and clean. Decent location, as it was close to a main train line. Fine for a nights sleep.

Review 33:Small room even though listed as a suite. Window faces a building under construction 5/6 feet away. Noisy highway nearby. No breakfast to speak of. Bathroom is small with no place for even a tooth brush.

Review 34:no bathroom vent, everything steamed after shower, no way to clear it. hairdryer didn't work. construction directly behind motel noisey and started early in am. breakfast consisted of coffee and oatmeal in the office.

Review 35:desk clerk was friendly and helpful.

Review 36:Great location for the Marine Corps Marathon!!!very close to both start and finish lines, and easy to navigate for metro station/ airport travel. Ms.Evelyn was especially kind and helpful during my time there--I had a great visit and loved the race so very much!!

Review 37:Even with a late checkout of 2 PM (which really could have been 3 or even 4 PM), they charged us an extra $40 to stay an extra hour past the checkout time. Could have been more accomodating to runners who just ran 26.2 miles and don't want to be rushed out of their hotels. Staff couldn't get the amount of money for the extra hour right, one told me $40 while another told me $75.

Review 38:The location was perfect for MCM weekend, right by the start & finish line. The room was clean and comfortable.

Review 39:We stayed here for the Marine Corps Marathon. The location was stellar. Very comfortable - it felt like you were home with your parents. Bathroom so retro it's cool. Extremely clean. Would absolutely stay here again. Thank you Evelyn for allowing us to check in early, and leave our car parked as we ran the race.

Review 40:A bit noisy from 7 am due to construction works nearby. But very quiet at night.

Review 41:Close location to metro -> Washington DC. Also, few minutes walk from Arlington. Helpful staff, clean rooms

Review 42:Good location, walking distance to the city center (if you like walking) but there is also metro station about half a mile away, staff is very helpful, room was clean, they provide coffe and cereal in the morning (there is also coffe maker in a room)

Review 43:Construction noise during day, but not too bad.

Review 44:Clean, good value for $, 10 min. Walk to Metro, 10 more mins on Metro to Wash attractions. Good fridge, wifi & micro.

Review 45:There was no view from the window, only a wall and construction. They might change bed cover.

Review 46:It's a real american motel, location is not bad, only a few minutes from metro station, nice bathromm, room very clean and well equiped

Review 47:Windows and walls are extremely thin. Construction is going on behind the hotel (fall 2015, probably for some time). Metro stations are half a mile away and require going up a hill. Not really the hotel's fault, but something to consider for future travelers.

Review 48:Very clean, even though it's clearly an older motel with some wear & tear. I also liked the price. Very reasonable for D.C. area.

Review 49:Breakfast is terrible. Basically, it's oatmeal and coffee. I wish they would not advertize breakfast as part of the deal. The hotel need some serious upgrades.

Review 50:Location

Review 51:1.Water mixer in the shower does not work well: water is either too cold or too hot. 2.No heating in the room. Not very pleasant at cold weather.

Review 52:Good location for the hotel room price.Friendly staff.

Review 53:Nothing major, faces noisy commuting avenue (many motels do) and a few small roaches (two in 3 nights - but it is the "South" and how much poison (insecticides) to you want to be exposed to yourself

Review 54:Quaint, comfortable, friendly front desk staff, easy walk to Metro and access to D.C. - next to upscale urban neighborhood with nice small restaurants

Review 55:For hikers everything in walking distance (Metro station - 700 m; Arlington cemetary - 1 km; Lincoln Memorial - 3 km). Free parking. Good value for the money.

Review 56:Easy to park here. Although room is old, most amenities are provided. Good bed, Walked to a nice restaurant down the block. This is a nice neighborhood, so you should feel safe and enjoy the short walk to the metro or a store. Pink and maroon bathroom tile good for a laugh.

Review 57:Outstanding for price, 1/2 the cost of anything else I could find. I based my ratings on cost, clean and excellent location. 10 minute walk from Rosslyn Metro station.

Review 58:The hotel is actually a motel and located right on a VERY busy four lane road with a lot of building construction near by. I have to say, even with the construction, my room was very quiet. Morning check out staff did not seem very happy to be there and was hard to understand.Coffee on the office window ledge in the morning and no room to make the dried packet of oatmeal.

Review 59:I knew from the start, paying $110 a night in Arlington would not include luxury accommodations. The evening staff was very professional and friendly. The room was basic, clean and comfortable.

Review 60:Breakfast virtually non-existent. The front desk lady wasn't very polite when trying to check-in early.

Review 61:The room was very very comfortable, flat screen TV, Wifi working very well, air conditioning excellent (especially in a hot August summer). The distance to Rosslyn Metro Station is approx 10-15min on foot, lot of restaurants and shops in walking distance uphill. Felt safe and comfortable as a solo traveller.

Review 62:cleanless of my room; perhaps simply bad luck; it smelled like cat pee; people from the hotel solved it. Breakfast is abive average, but you can cope with it (fridge inside the room)

Review 63:location is great: near metro station; walking distance (for those who enjoy walking) to Iwo Jima Memorial, rlongton, Pentagon, bridge to DC; good restaurants nearby in Rosslyn

Review 64:There is an active construction going on right 10' from the building, making a bunch of rooms totally view free. The noise is pretty bad too, unless you are planning to wake up at 7am sharp. We didn't happen to care, but I can see how it could be an issue for some.

Review 65:Close location to the National Mall is the main thing about the place, but haven't really tried walking there by foot. This being said, the USMC park is right 10' walk away. The stuff was friendly and rooms were clean and convenient enough.

Review 66:No microwave and the continental breakfast left much to be desired, unless you like oatmeal.

Review 67:The place was clean and the staff was friendly. The price was right too.

Review 68:Small rooms. Eating facilities not much in the vicinity. Very far from Dulles airport. Nearby contrition was noisy in the morning.

Review 69:Location was near metro and not in a congested area

Review 70:Booking.com allowed us to book a room for three people, not specifying the number of beds. However, it sent us a room picture with two beds, so we assumed it is ok. Our son is 10 years old, so obviously he needs a separate bed from us the parents. When we came to the room, there was only one king bed. The hotel told us it is not their fault, they have all rooms occupied, so we had to sleep the first night all together on one bed! Next day, however, they offered us another room with two beds for extra $10, which was ok with us, so the rest of our stay was fine. My impression is that the situation was not only the hotel's fault, but also the booking.com giving imprecise information to all parties. The website does a good job helping to find an accommodation satisfying the requirements of the client, however it has to present the accurate and complete information to avoid such disappointing episodes.

Review 71:The location is perfect, close distance to DC, convenient transportation.

Review 72:I was very surprised, Most people when looking at it would think no luxury hotel. Guess what ! my room very clean, comfy, staff very helpful, owner charming. Manager Charles was very helpful! Yeah the building could be prettier but I received value. I've stayed in many upscale hotels, but this small motel was quaint. As a travel advisor I had no complaints.

Review 73:Work site next door, not noisy.

Review 74:Very clean, big room, very comfortable bed, quiet. Nice personnel. Complimentary coffee and juicice offered in the morning. 10 min walk from metro station.

Review 75:Room was older but clean. Location of inn is safe and easy access to the capitol. Staff was friendly and very helpful. No noise from the construction on my visit, but it was not running as reported.

Review 76:There was nothing bad about this hotel, it was clean, well located and cheap! Yes it's only 2 star so it's not luxury but for somewhere to stay for 1 night it was fine.

Review 77:Booked this hotel last minute 8:20pm, check in was only open until 9pm but we didn't realise, arrived at 10pm after a day sightseeing in Washington. Thankfully there was still someone around to check us in. The location was perfect, a 5 min walk from the metro station into Washington centre. The hotel was basic but had everything we needed for one night and we could not complain at the price - much cheaper than anywhere in Washington and the metro only cost $5.50 for two of us.

Review 78:Aircon was a bit weak and noisey. Weekday rates a lot higher than weekend rates.

Review 79:Good location, 8 min walk to metro, parking. Room was comfortable and had all the necessary items. Quiet.

Review 80:The rate change from weekend to workdays - gone up by about $30.

Review 81:Good location, about 7 min walk to Rosslyn station. Parking. By car there are a few restaurants within 1 mile. Irish pub is good. The rooms are of good size and it has all the essentials.

Review 82:Our room was on second floor. Didn't know we would be on second floor until we arrived. Had no elevator that sucked.

Review 83:We liked that we were fairly close to Arlington National Cemetery.

Review 84:Accommodating staff. Good for single traveler or young couple - not recommended for a family. Construction starts at 7am and will be going on for a while.

Review 85:No Wifi at all if you wanted to connect, then you would have to leave the room and approach to a building just across The street.

Review 86:I was accomodated in a condo next door to hotel reception which was big enough and cleaned with a huge living room for The regular rate, I was certainly lucky!

Review 87:The wifi was good for a couple hours that night, but the next morning we couldn't get it to work at all. There is coffee available but no other breakfast items and there is construction going on nearby right now so if you want to sleep in I suggest you sleep somewhere else (it starts at 7am).

Review 88:The desk person was very sweet and he let us leave our car there even after we checked out the next day so we could go into DC on the metro (which is only .5 miles away, an easy walk) and not have to worry about parking. Arlington is an easy walk and so is Iwo Jima from there, and I would definitely stay there again. No frills, easy and simple.

Review 89:We booked 2 rooms but they were over booked so they gave us an apartment. The apartment was old and taty, but was clean.

Review 90:The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and could not fault them at all. 10/10

Review 91:Don't most hotels have some kind of "continental breakfast"? The Inn of Rosslyn had coffee at the front desk. Come on, even if there were some prepackaged Danish or something! At least put in the bowed out shower-curtains

Review 92:Convenient to what I needed. Clean room. Low price for the area!

Review 93:Old motel. Mattresses are past any reasonable lifetime. Bathtub is old and beyond cleaning. Toilet is from 70s. Construction starts at 7am. Daytime staff is uninterested at best. Breakfast non-existent, claims to the contrary are outright lie. At $109+tax it is a robbery. If you have options don't stay there. Unfortunately, I had to find a hotel in this area on a 2-days notice as I had to be nearby at 8 am, so my next most inexpensive option was $260+tax.

Review 94:Location, free parking, nighttime staff.

Review 95:Great location a few minutes walk to the subway. Groceries, great cafes, 24 hr 7/11 nearby. Comfortable nicely furnished room has everything you need, staff very helpful and obliging.

Review 96:Traffic is loud and heavy, so if you are looking for a quiet hotel, don't take it. Old building, staircase is pretty weary.

Review 97:Wifi was great, parking free, employees very friendly, great location to explore Washington and Arlington (you can walk to DC 50 min, most thru beautiful green park along Arlington cemetery). We did that three times and enjoyed it. When you take the Arlington cemetery tour, hop off last stop at the Netherlands war memorial and walking to the hotel will be just 25 minutes. Metro Rosslyn 10 min away; Starbucks, Panerabread and restaurants of all kind. Secure area.

Review 98:There is nothing on the bathroom to hang or put our stuff. there are works on the building next to the hotel, but if you wake up early it's not a problem.

Review 99:Good AC on the room, bed confortable, Nice reception

Review 100:Right behind the hotel they are building something new. Meaning: waking up at 7 AM by the sound of drilling. The matress was extremely soft (pit). However, we mentioned this to the staff and it was replaced the same day with a very comfortable matress!

Review 101:We liked: the size of the bed, free parking, WiFi, neighbourhood when going up hill. And the changing of the matress, that was good.

Review 102:There were not a lot of plug outlets offered if you have a family andeach person has a device that needs to be charged. There were a few antsin the room when we checked in but not on or in the bed.

Review 103:You are able to walk to the metro station from the property in tenminutes. The room was nice for a older hotel. Wi fi was excellent.

Review 104:Not a luxury property but not roughing it by any means.

Review 105:Awesome location and a nostalgic trip to the 50's. Rooms are spotless, carpet new and all items work great. Price can't be beat.

Review 106:Nothing was really wrong. The only thing was that the door from my room didn't want to work correctly and it was raining. The night staff was giving me a hard time to reprogram my key.

Review 107:Respectful front desk. Very helpful.

Review 108:Right outside our room window was room construction and a big thing that boomed loudly starting early morning. Even worked Saturday.

Review 109:Good location, older area and older hotel. Was clean and bed comfortable. Metro within easy walking distance

Review 110:Breakfast seems something they should explore. I wouldn't mind to pay for it, but what they offer now, appears not suitable.

Review 111:Location is a prime for this property; close to the Metro station and from DC. I was luck to get a room far from the construction, so no noise and disturbance at all. I read from other customers and could confirm: Victor is the best asset in this hotel. Always courteous, good humor and supportive. As his support and you will not regret. He drop me at the airport, and even this ride was a pleasant interaction with him.

Review 112:bathroom needs some refurbishment, feels like old or not clean.. construction works from the early morning in the backyard, impossible to sleep..

Review 113:nice rooms in a retro style.. car parking..

Review 114:Since it is an older facility, while the water pressure is fine, their is a fluctuation in the temperature of the water while you are taking a shower. Minor inconvenience but a nagging hassle.

Review 115:great location and an excellent place to stay for DC Monuments, Metro, access hifghways, etc.

Review 116:Building work behind which started at 7.00 but didn't bother us. Problem with key working. Had to keep going to the office to obtain a new one each time.

Review 117:Location and free parking. Only 10 mins walk from Metro.

Review 118:Since there is no place for brakfast, they are doing an efforts, need to have ready at least some fruits

Review 119:Staff is very Kindly and helpful, place is very near metro

Review 120:Breakfast is only instant oatmeal + coffee + orange juice which runs out by 7:30am. No microwave oven nor electric kettle for heating up foods or making own hotbdrinks in room.

Review 121:1. 10 mins walk to Rosslyn Metro Station and just a few stops from the main attractions. 2. Free parking 3. Free Wifi 4. 2 mins walk fr Ledo restaurant in Best Western Hotel which serves dinner specials at about $13.

Review 122:Location is good for access to the Metro and DC attractions. The neighborhood seems up and coming with nearby places to eat. The place was clean and the service was good.

Review 123:- terrible noise from 6 in the morning for the building site next to the hotel - I went for asking my documents, and they couldn't find them - staff not really nice, unwilling

Review 124:- good location

Review 125:Construction site out the back that started at 0700. We used it as an alarm clock! Breakfast is really poor but that is reflected in the price.

Review 126:Price was great. Near to Rosslyn metro and Iwo Jima monument. Some nice places to eat nearby

Review 127:The construction site started huge noise from 7am m-f!!!! Have to get upearly except our first day, which was a Sunday. I dont know when theconstruction will finish.

Review 128:Good price comparing to other hotels; good location

Review 129:De bouwput is idd een drama, maar wij moesten 7.00 op, dus weinig last van gehad.

Review 130:lokatie is top. Vlak bij metro, snel in downtown. Verder niet veel verblijven, alleen als slaapplek gebruiken!

Review 131:I was a little nervous about staying here because I knew it was an older hotel. It was a very good experience though and a great value. It was not modern but everything was well kept and comfortable. My friend and I were pleased with our choice to stay here.

Review 132:When we told the staff about the bugs in or room , they did not even say they were sorry. Lots of heavy construction just 20 ft behind hotel , which starts at 06;00 Their idea of breakfast is a small table in the office with oat meal in bags and instant coffee. With no where to sit.

Review 133:It was minutes from our kids home in Arlington, It was easy to get to. It had lots of close restaurants. The bed was perfect! We will stay here again just for the bed and deep bathtub! Do not be discouraged by nay-sayers. This will always be our Arlington/DC hotel!
