Reviews for Route 66 Hotel and Conference Center

Review 1:Every single mirror in the room was dirty and there were handprints on the walls. Could have been cleaner.

Review 2:Everything about the hotel and room was convenient and comfy.

Review 3:Given a room on second floor. No e elevator. Steep steps. Very difficult to carry bags up the stairs since we are on our 70's and 80's. No help offered. Staff very unhelpful

Review 4:Room had microwave and refrigerator.

Review 5:Got back in room at 11am . Had no hot water.I didn't complain. Went to bed. I did have hot water in the morning.

Review 6:The decor is awesome and inviting.

Review 7:The room was located in the furthest reaches of the hotel in a remote location right next to the road. A minor irritant. The rooms had glass panels by the hallway that reminded me of the 1960's. Carpets were heavily stained and soiled. The sheets were worn thin and long over due for replacement. Years of neglect and disrepair are evident in the dingy appearance of the hotel.

Review 8:Route 66 theme was interesting. Not what I had in mind. Only consolation is that I did get a good nights sleep.

Review 9:was disappointed in city of Springfield. In a four block area near Lincoln sites was harassed by two homeless folks and saw police arresting a guy... on a Sunday afternoon

Review 10:very clean nostalgic feel. Room was very nice. It was obvious that great care and pride is taken by the owners of this facility.

Review 11:Didn't like much...was afraid of broken glass everywhere outside...especially walking a small pet. Location is on seedy neighborhood and business highway. Staff was rude and room was dirty & overpriced.

Review 12:They 'accept pets'

Review 13:Outside to smoke and 2 young kids walked by asking about the depth I pool then disappeared off side of building

Review 14:Room was very cozy we stayed in the jacuzzi room.

Review 15:Room had a "musty" smell. Couldn't adjust AC/Heater-It was either on or off.

Review 16:Location-ease of getting to and back on I-55. Access to restaurants very good. Décor!!!

Review 17:front desk check-in staff was rude; ignored us upon check-in while she was socializing with co-worker. she took 20 minutes to finally put us into a room that was on the first floor which I requested when I originally reserved the room (1 month prior)I'm disabled. she also took another check in while she was in the middle of checking us in....WE ARRIVED FIRST.

Review 18:restaurant staff, friendly and great service.

Review 19:Clerk could not find our reservation in the system. She said she could not honor our reservation so I had to get all the info out of my IPhone to show her. It was in there because she said oh there it is.

Review 20:Very nice historical Route 66 motel that was clean and had loads of Route 66 memorabilia in the facilities.

Review 21:Your room has 2 windows which face the outside hallway and are covered by a curtain you have to make sure outside people can't see in your room makes room feel unsafe

Review 22:My bad wasn't the cleaned the box spring was very dirty and my daughter was itching most the night. There was a lot of black stuff along the box spring were the bed wasn't all the way over so you could see the dirt or sand no sure. Planned on staying there every other weekend I'm working up there every other weekend.

Review 23:Very nice front desk people... Had enough towels and no one bothers us.

Review 24:Beds were uncomfortable and room had a musky odor, there was no bathtub like the webpage stated, a bathtub in every room..

Review 25:Easy to find and had a restaurant.

Review 26:Dampness and damp odor in rooms and hallway. Glass wall from old structure. Bathroom needs paint job. Parking.

Review 27:Swimming pool. Beds. Restaurant (pizza). Decor of lobby.

Review 28:We stayed on Sunday nite- restaurant no open- Monday left early for work restaurant not open. Should have complimentary breakfast.

Review 29:Love the route 66 memorabilia.

Review 30:When I first arrived I was given a room in the oldest part of the hotel. The hotel is rather odd because it is an old hotel with outside entrances that has been enclosed. The room I was given was clean but had an odor to it. Upon inspection of the mattresses, there were bedbug covers on them but they had nasty yellow stains. I did not see any bedbugs but that was enough. I asked the manager for another room which he gave me in a different section of the hotel. Did not see any evidence of bedbugs there but kept suitcases closed and off the floor and beds as a precaution. The sink drained so slowly the manager had to treat with draino.

Review 31:The manager was very nice/helpful. The room rate is very affordable and I like the Route 66 paraphernalia throughout.

Review 32:Very outdated. Shower had weak pressure and not very hot water. Sink drained very slow. Told maintenance, was informed that the pipes were old! Said he took care of it. But was the same when next used.

Review 33:Loved the little diner. Good food. And our room was quiet. And mattress comfy even though it was bigger than box spring.

Review 34:The toilet in our room leaked when you sat down.

Review 35:My nephew and daughter were extremely impressed with the memorabilia. The restaurant Yesterday's was very nice and had good food and good service.

Review 36:No complimentary breakfast. There is a family restaurant, service was rather slow in the morning. Did not try the bar. Sat on the couch, leaned back, and the arm fell off; think that broke the lamp. Sorry.

Review 37:Clean, adequate nearby parking. Liked the historical exhibits from RT 66.

Review 38:The food and service in the "restaurant" were very poor. There are plenty of eating places around - I suggest that you use them! The "museum" was just a few bits and pieces with lots of pictures of people we'd never heard of. The whole impression was grubby, downmarket and we were glad to get away - luckily we only stayed the one night. In addition, although the hotel was practically empty we were given a room at the furthest end of the hotel. Another guest checking in at the same time was also roomed at the furthest extent (upstairs, with no elevator) and complained only to be shouted at by the reception manager.

Review 39:Nothng.

Review 40:Food!! The guy on reception told us they were still serving food in The cafe (there was a bar but we didn't really want to eat in there) we went an sat in the cafe, no service for about 15 minutes then a girl came In and Said we could eat in the bar as the cafe was not open. It was late so we went in the bar, food was awful. Would stay here again but there's plenty of other places to eat around so would just eat out

Review 41:Comfortable room, nice Route 66 displays good location. Friendly staff.

Review 42:Nice reception staff, easy check in. Comfortable room 2 double beds. Lots of Route 66 memorabilia in reception and hallways. Bar area a bit dark but restaurant had the look of an old Route 66 diner.

Review 43:I called 48 hours before arrival to inquire about Smoking vs Non-smoking rooms given the age of hotel; front desk clerk 'assured' me the rooms were nice. I walked in gave it 5 minutes, my asthma kicked in so I checked out. No refund (wasn't 24 hr notice).

Review 44:Nothing.

Review 45:We missed not having a breakfast available - a trade-off for the price I guess. It was just an old building and smelled like an old building; however nothing that increased.

Review 46:Location and atmosphere - Route 66 memorabilia was enjoyable. I would go back because for the price, it was acceptable.

Review 47:Had to keep curtains closed in day time due to full length windows and no nets.

Review 48:Route 66 memorabilia really cool. Excellent wi-fi. Nice restaurant and bar

Review 49:We were not told if we took the car around to the back of the hotel we were just off that entrance instead we walked down a long hallway. Almost skipped the shower as it took so long for the hot water...more than two minutes. Thanks to the due diligent husband.

Review 50:Fun Lobby. Convenience to locations.

Review 51:Upon booking, we specified a non-smoking room, and when we entered our room, it smelt strongly of cigarettes. When asked if we could be moved to a non-smoking room, we were informed that our room was a non-smoking room, and we mentioned that it still smelt, and we were just told that it was a non-smoking room and weren't moved.

Review 52:Breakfast didn't start till 7:30..... 7:30, that's way to late if you are traveling. It need to open 5:30 to 6:00 am.

Review 53:The decor was really cool.

Review 54:All the staff, well trained and with obviously excellent management made this stay for us such a joy. Quirky decor set the scene for Route 66. Sending on our I pad we had left behind was an honest approach we really appreciated.

Review 55:Older rooms, so not as quiet, you can here everyone coming and going, talking down the halls.

Review 56:We love this little hotel! We actually stay there a few times a year for shopping trips to springfield. Some rooms are alittle outdated, and you can here the noise in the hall, but overall, for price, you cant beat it. Just a cool place to stay and has a greatlittle restuarant and bar. Livethe food!

Review 57:The light from the hallway lit the room up at night like it was 7 am all night. Our king suite had one uncomfortable chair for seating in the main area. Our shower head was at 4' high. We are 5'8 and 6'0 and the shower was perfect height for our 7 year old son. We stayed three nights and on the beginning of day 3 our room keys didn't work anymore. Front desk lady was very rude when we asked her to renew or give us new cards for it. Will not be staying there again on my next trip to Springfield.

Review 58:Our king suite was big and we had a sink, mini fridge and microwave.

Review 59:The rooms and hallways looked run down. There was mold on the ceiling in the rooms bathroom. The fitted sheets Don t stay on the bed.

Review 60:The front entrance looks nice and the museum part was very nice.

Review 61:climate control for both rooms was bad; very damp. Carpet in one room was wet by the refrigerator. Hallway lighting was difficult to block out during the night, light leaks all around the drapes. Lighting fixtures in the room hallways need upgrading desperately as well as the carpeting on the second floor.

Review 62:cost for the room was good, memorabilia features were interesting. Very nice pool.

Review 63:No problems. Everything was functioning and good. It is an older motel so those who want something new and modern might be disappointed.

Review 64:This is not just a motel, but also a museum, with memorabilia from the 1950s old Route 66. Staff was helpful and very careful - the location is in a good area and quite secure.

Review 65:The shower had black mold. The sink had some type of slime in it we had to clean out. The wash cloths looked like they were not washed. On day two we ran out of toilet paper. At least we had kleenix. Lampshades between the bed looked like they had not been cleaned in several years. Coffee service on day two was lacking coffee. There was a pickup parked tail first by the door with a lawn mower sticking out the back end. An accident waiting to happen?

Review 66:It was an easy to reach location. The outside canopy was a nice touch.

Review 67:It did have the odor of old smoke in the halls, but not in the room of the old part of the hotel.

Review 68:Good location, easy to find. Kids enjoyed the nice outdoor pool. The hotel had so much to look at and enjoy. We enjoyed a good breakfast at the 50's café.

Review 69:Absolutely amazing hotel. I would love to go back. All the king rooms were full so they upgraded us to a jacuzzi room. If you have a little extra money then definitely book the jacuzzi room. Staff were great. The bar great and cheap. The restaurant lovely diner food pretty cheap. Pool is clean and a decent size. Just the best.

Review 70:I did not receive a good impression when I checked in and out. There were 3 people on checking in, the man took my name and then went to assist someone who was being waited on by another staff member. Check out was the same one person stayed and visited and the other person checked me out.

Review 71:I like the value for the money. The bed was comfortable and the atmosphere interesting. The bar and breakfast were very nice also.

Review 72:Nothing

Review 73:We were greeted by a very friendly chap and were pleasantly surprised to find a bar, restaurant and comedy club within the hotel. We enjoyed both our evening meal and breakfast served in the 50's style restaurant. We loved the Route 66 exhibits too. Can't fault it. Good price too!

Review 102:the comfort of the room right off the highway staff
