Reviews for Inns of Virginia Arlington

Review 1:No discount for Marymount University student. They could look into it.....

Review 2:The location, very close to Marymount university. Good car parking. Very helpful front desk staff. Clean rooms & very good cleaning staff. Highly recommended......

Review 3:Thin walls so enjoyed every detail of next door's trials and tribulations. Old and tired. Complementary breakfast one step up from a Twinkie.

Review 4:Next to bus stop linking to subways. Manager's weird perm and hair colour.

Review 5:The hallway carpet needed vacuuming. The interenect connection was too week for me to connect through the evening hours. Early in the morning it worked fine.

Review 6:The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean.

Review 7:The breakfast is quite poor, just coffee, muffins and apples and no room to seat.

Review 8:Friendly staff and clean room. The hotel is 15/20 minutes from washington but is a good choiche only if you have a car, it will take too long with the bus. Nice locetion enar a lot of shops a supermarkets

Review 9:The first time we stepped into the room, we could here the very loud and profanity laden conversation of the guests next door. Walked right out and to the front desk. The clerk was very understanding and put us in another room immediately. This room was flanked by other marathoners and they were quiet and respectful. The facilities are obviously older, but there were no bugs and the beds slept well.

Review 10:Super Clean Sheets; Very accommodating staff. Location/ Price combination can't be beat!

Review 11:Hallways reeked of stale cigarette smoke and had dirty rugs. Not much breakfast. Clock didn't work in room. Room was dark. One bulb out in light. No creamer, sugar , napkin or stirers for coffee in room.

Review 12:Location

Review 13:The man who checked us in was rude and disinterested. So our first impression was tainted by his unfriendliness. Just a hello would have been nice! However the two female receptionists we incredibly lovely. Maybe we caught him on a bad day.

Review 14:Very Close to bus, which made getting to the National Mall via Rosslyn, very easy. Very comfy beds and clean rooms.

Review 15:The weather, it rained for 3 days.

Review 16:Easy access to bus service into Arlington & the Metro to Washington. Staff friendly & knowledgeable. Wifi excellent.

Review 17:Tried to do laundry but did not have one on site.

Review 18:It was a good location and convenient to bus line and to the Metro. Had great pillows.... Would like to know the brand?

Review 19:If staying longer, make sure not to get room over parking lot.

Review 20:Location and value for money - given short drive to airport and the cemetery etc. I wanted a place to stay for only a few hours to shower and repack bags before starting an international, long haul flight, and this was close to ideal. It also lets you check in from 2pm, which many places don't do. Hard to find places around $100 inlcuding tax. They really need to look at offering these at the actual airport to book for four hours for similar purposes. Imagine would also be good for a few nights - given the fridge and microwave in room.

Review 21:No soap in the bathroom or mini shampoos, our tv remote was wrong and a fiasco, there was no toilet paper, no coffee cups. The breakfast they have isn't even worth their trouble.

Review 22:Super clean. Beds were super comfortable. Near a grocery store, CVS, and Dunkin Donuts.

Review 23:Breakfast was served in the entry area to the rooms. There was no place to sit to eat or even get out of the way of other people. Rooms were small if more than one person.

Review 24:The location was good for the Arlington area. Staff directed me to a diner that was good and not too far away.

Review 25:Room had no ventilation just a blower, the tv was sub standard quality, could barely see the picture. No option to book films on the television. Wi-Fi was sporadic in working and was not allowed to stream anything so that put paid to watching a film on Netflix. The hotel needs a renovation. It's overpriced most definitely.

Review 26:The takeaways delivered to the room.

Review 27:I was given a suite with two double beds instead of one queen bed. Also, breakfast was not very good, but for 2 * hotel it is ok.

Review 28:The hotel is 10-15 minutes from Washington D.C. downtown and main tourist attractions, which is definitely a big plus. The suite was clean and cozy. I think it is a very good choice for such price.

Review 29:Dead insects (large) on bathroom floor, wrappers of chips from previousguests on the floor in the room, stains on the very old and worn-outsheets and a smoking room which we had not booked. Then we were promiseda non-smoking room for the second night. On the next morning the managerflat out told us no and was very unfriendly. A specific request to atleast clean the room thoroughly if it cannot be non-smoking was notedyet the wrapper on the floor remained there in the evening. Also the air-condotioning was turned off during the day so that we came back to a hotroom. Do not go there! (I guess only if the alternative is sleepingunder a bridge...)

Review 30:The man who checked us in was very friendly.

Review 31:Rooms were small even for a 'single', clothes rack was beside bed, two straightback chairs that were uncomfortable for work

Review 32:Very convenient location right off of Lee Highway and 1.5 blocks from I-66

Review 33:We were put in a room first off which was so damp there was mouldgrowing in the corners. The rooms are cubes, no air flow hence the damp, mildewy atmosphere. The place also wreaks of urine-even the hallway. Forthe price im sure you can do better-look around!!

Review 34:Shower pressure

Review 35:Breakfast awful: a few cheapest and stale things running short after 9. Wi-fi is permanently out of order - if you need it, you can't count on it at all. The staff nice but can't be helpful in the simplest but important things: they do not know at all the schedule of nearest buses, they told me the wrong fare, when I had to check-in for the plane and wi-fi was not working they did nothing. The rooms are not very clean. The walls very thin: if someone is just talking in the room next to you, you hear every word. No hairdryer

Review 36:Coffee and tee the whole day long available. Beds very comfortable. Quite good location.

Review 37:This was an awesome place to stay. It was 3 miles from the White House, easy access to all of DC's attractions. The staff was amazing and very accommodating. I would recommend this Inn to anyone, and will only stay here when traveling to the DC area

Review 38:The attitude of the manager was not very good as he was having a dispute with the reception staff and left us standing waiting for room allocation for over 15 minutes

Review 39:The room was good

Review 40:Breakfast is limited. No decaf coffe! Bathtub was not draining properly and wasn't fixed while we were there.

Review 41:We've enjoyed our stay. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The room is not very big, but cleaned and made up daily.

Review 42:The whole place was kind of stuffy/muggy. Breakfast was measly.

Review 43:Walking distance to the metro. Really couldn't beat the price. Staff was friendly.

Review 44:Rooms were nice, staff was nice and helpful, bus stop is located just outside the hotel, great location for a short stay in Washington DC. We enjoyed our stay in this hotel.

Review 45:The AC is very noisy and the Indian staff were not helpful.

Review 46:The American lady is helpful. There is a bus stop nearby where you can take to Rosslyn Metro.

Review 47:We were in room 219. The floor behind the bed was dirty and we didn't feel comfortable walking bare footed on the dirty carpet.

Review 48:The bed was good and the bathroom was clean. The receptionist on the first night was very friendly and helpfull. We got upgraded from a queens bed to a kings. It didn't matter to us that the new room was a smoking room, because it didn't smell at all.

Review 49:There was a lot of broken things in the room and at the hotel. There was also a lot of unruly guests there. The door also didn't close easily - as a young couple on a trip together, it made for a really awkward night where we probably disturbed a lot of people...

Review 50:The room was pretty clean, the location was perfect for traveling into DC.

Review 51:I booked non-smoking room, but everything inside of the room had tabacco smell. The breakfast was apples, juice and coffee\tea, not that energetic, if you walk to the subway station with your bags.

Review 52:No dining room, the breakfast has so few choices that we can say it is almost no breakfast.

Review 53:good location. It was a good news that our room was upgrated from double room with two double beds to suite free.

Review 54:Breakfast could have been a bit better - would have liked more options, not just pre-packaged pastries. Also a lot of noise could be heard from neighbours, so it's a good idea to take earplugs!

Review 55:Good location and friendly staff. Room was sizeable and wifi worked well. No major complaints - would happily stay again, as it is a good budget place with quick connections to DC.

Review 56:Not many dining options close by

Review 57:Friendly helpful staff. Very clean. Good public transport access into DC even though need bus + subway but fast and safe.

Review 58:Location and price was amazing, very friendly staff and nice neighborhood. Go to the "Silver Diner" not to far away and food is sooooooo good. D.C. and its beautiful monuments are close by. Cab ride into D.C are good if you want to spend whole day there. Also the metro rail is a couple (miles) walk from hotel but if you are saving money and will be out for the day its a good move. Get a map of downtown D.C and you will not get lost very easy layout. Enjoy your trip

Review 59:When you wake up to take the breakfast, first of all, you don't have table or any seat and after that you can see that the breakfast is a packed food, no bread for a toasts or something like this, the same zume that you have in a flight (exactly the same)... horrible

Review 60:The room is nice, clean, with refrigerator and a confortable beds

Review 61:Definitely did not appreciate the smell of smoke which ended up coming into the room. All the rooms in our hallway had no smoking signs on the doors but it was obvious people were still smoking in them or in the hallway. A BIG turnoff. Wifi was terrible...noone explained which network to use or what the password was and once connected it was extremely slow and inconsistent. Would NOT stay here again.

Review 62:The price

Review 63:Internet connection no strong. Dropped a few time. Need more selection for breafast.

Review 64:Location, closet to shop. Staff very helpful. We got the best room.

Review 65:The sewage of my bathtub had a problem and dirty water remaining after each shower. The personnel could not be able to solve that problem and I had to shower with the dirty water on the bottom of the tub during my stay. Also there is NO WI-FI, no one knows its password and it is impossible to connect it. The rooms are dirty, as well as the bathrooms.

Review 66:The location and the price

Review 67:Rooms carpeted and not the cleanest , room smelled bad, No window for fresh air cycle even though building is only 2 levels, rooms sanitary especially carpet must be cleaned no smell at all times, if possible fresh air from each room through windows. Better cleaning service, more friendlier staff needed .

Review 68:Location is great , Price is fine, staff somehow friendly but not much . Great working wifi and parking space , walking distance to cafes, shops etc . Need car for other part of town .

Review 69:Too much smoke in hallway and goes to the room which I asked for non-smoking room. I ended up wearing air mask most of time when I stayed there.

Review 70:Clean & relatively convenience location if you know where Fall Church is.

Review 71:The breakfast left a great deal to be desired, especially paying extra for it. First day we had a variety of packaged pastries and muffins. 2nd. and 3rd, the supplies had dwindled. There was some fruit and coffee and packaged juice. We ended up eating out the last two days.

Review 72:Close to our son, clean, comfortable, and had what we needed for overnight. We spent little time in the room. We visited with our son or old friends, since we lived in the area for 35 yrs.

Review 73:We had a non smoking room but along side other non smoking rooms but the smell of cigarettes was so strong.. our room did not smell but the hallways were very strong therefore we smelt like cigarettes all day.

Review 74:my husband an I were visiting DC and I found this hotel. It was small but had friendly staff and three room was clean. It was very easy and fast to get to DC.

Review 75:My only issues involved the poor wifi in the hotel room and their idea of "breakfast".

Review 76:For the price I payed I was very pleased for the room. My husband and I were looking for apartments to move to, as he's military and we needed to find a house in a new state. The two nights were good. The staff is friendly and the beds are comfortable. The cleaning staff is excellent at their job.

Review 77:Walls are thin, I could hear the next room like they were sitting next to me. Wifi super spotty. Rooms are very small, just barely fit the queen size bed in them. Was told they served a full breakfast every morning, to my dismay, it was coffee, fruit, and muffins, better than nothing, but I wanted bacon.

Review 78:Very clean room and common areas, super cheap, staff were great, comfy beds.

Review 79:I didn't like that it's located on a hill. I have to catch the bus and I walk with a cane. It doesn't have a elevator. I had to walk up and down the stairs to go to the store. For the price the room could have been bigger. There wasn't a hair dryer in the room.

Review 80:I liked that it had a refrigerator and microwave in the room. It wasn't too far from Safeway and bus stop.

Review 81:Small room but you're only there for sleep and watching tv--the price was great---so why complain? Also bring your blow dryer.

Review 82:Great location for us--close to friends we were visiting. Room clean, bed comfortable, plenty of hot water.

Review 83:Nothing I can think of, it was great value for budget traveling.

Review 84:It was central to Washington DC and within a few hours to numerous nature parks around Virginia. Staff was nice and water pressure was awesome!

Review 85:dated, a smoking room allocated, ok for 1 night

Review 86:cheap rate for Washington, excellent reception on arrival, and directed us to centre for a beer/meal

Review 87:I wish they'd been more attentive to my phone to help check my usage. When I checked in, I was told my phone line would be cut if I used it over the limits I paid for but this didn't happen. Rather, I woke up one day to hear I was owing money on my calls.

Review 88:Loved the front desk attendants. I met about 3 on different shifts and they were all very helpful. They always seemed to have answers for everything I needed to get around town. The cleanliness of the rooms helped too. For a first time visitor, it left a lasting impression on me about the country and people. Thanks for making my stay in Virginia and indeed America great.

Review 89:- no hair drier, and conditioner in the bathroom - uncomfortable mattress - rare buses on weekends, had to walk 15-20min to a metro station to get to downtown

Review 90:- price, fair price for what you get, and cheap for DC standards - you get some snack in the morning, I wouldn't call it breakfast though - close to shops - water pressure was awesome :)

Review 91:Sealed windows make for stuffy air.

Review 92:Small good value hotel in Arlington. Free parking, close to a few shops, on bus line to DC; but not near Metro. Friendly staff.

Review 93:basic room, but with doors inside to hallway, although coffee maker and snacks nearby reception area, it consisted of very poor prepackaged food.

Review 94:clean, fairly well kept, adjacent outside parking, hotel close to DC

Review 95:We stayed here for a whole week and enjoyed it. It was a wonderful place to come and rest our heads after a long day in DC. There are bus stops not even a minute away. If you are up to the challenge there is a metro station (Virginia square) its about a 15 minute walk away. The non smoking rooms are clean and had a fridge and microwave. The front desk staff was wonderful. The breakfast is minimal just on the go. If you want something more there is a Dunkin donuts and a couple of grocery stores around.

Review 96:Breakfast was poor. At least add refrigerated case with boiled eggs and yogurt. Wi-Fi was in and out and very slow.

Review 97:Staff was very good and knowledgeable about tourism and parking in D.C.

Review 98:-The WiFi signal wasn't good from my room -Found a few ants in my room, but they weren't overwhelming -Wasn't within walking distance of a metro station

Review 99:-There was WiFi -Quiet -Comfy Bed -Friendly Staff -10-15 minute drive to a metro parking lot

Review 100:The room was smaller than it appeared in the photos, the coffee maker leaked so we had to wait for coffee until breakfast, and the Internet information said there was a restaurant, which there is not.

Review 101:It was quiet and the staff was very, very friendly.

Review 102:The breakfast was very simple, no tables to eat, just pie and muffins. Walking to subway Virginia Square is very longer, but a beautiful residencial place.

Review 103:The room, neighborhood, wifi.

Review 104:I didn't like the pricing scheme. The online prices were different than the weekly rates that were advertised at the hotel. The reservation company wasn't willing to budge until I complained about the discrepancy. I was given a smoking room even though I asked for nonsmoking. The rooms are not equipped with irons, ironing boards or blow dryers. There was a lot of trash and debris behind he desks and bed (my bed even had wads of gum stuck to the headboards). Hotel did not have an elevator, which isn't so bad since the hotel is only 2 levels. But it would've been helpful not to have to carry luggage up and down stairs. The wifi connection was sporadic at best. It worked the first night, then there was a power outage that killed not only my wifi signal, it killed my ac unit. As a result, my room always felt stuffy.

Review 105:The front desk clerk was extremely nice. The room was a nicely sized, the bathroom had great water pressure with adequate hot and cold water. The hotel was close to bus stops and close to the Rossyln metro station. It was also in walking distance to many stores and food spots. Again, the front desk clerk was very helpful, which influenced me to extend my stay.

Review 106:NO GOOD RESTAURANTS IN THE AREA.

Review 107:GREAT COFFEE AND WONDERFUL BEDS. PHILADELPHIA A LOVELY AND HELPFUL PERSON. I CALLED AND SHE GOT ME THE INFO ON THE MATTRESS AND WE PLAN TO BUY SOME THEY WERE SO COMFORTABLE. PLEASE RECOGNIZE HER AND HER SHE WORK . SHE DOES A GREAT JOB AT THE FRONT DESK !

Review 108:The carpets in the room. The color is horrible and makes the room look cheap. The TV cabinet is dated. Theres no cable.

Review 109:I liked the bed. It was firm and comfortable. The water pressure was good.

Review 110:Poor breakfast (grab & go), no restaurant facilities, no place to secure luggage, terrible wi-fi.

Review 111:Spacious room, fridge, cable TV, free coffee available in the hall.

Review 112:The wifi is not good. There are few buses to city center and the time interval between buses is very big.

Review 113:The price is competitive. Staffs are friendly.

Review 114:Tap was blocked hence the water was not flowing, telephone was not working, no tv remote. Breakfast was very poor too.

Review 115:Kind of closed in, an odor like cigarette smoke

Review 116:Close proximity to Washington Reagan Airport

Review 117:Housekeeping staff needs to pay special attention to bed sheets.

Review 118:Good price for the value.

Review 119:It was extremely institutional

Review 120:It was dirt cheap

Review 121:Bathroom had some difficencys. Caulking and Bathgate ripping up.

Review 122:Beds were comfortable.

Review 123:The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast clean, fresh and plentiful. The bed was clean and comfortable.

Review 124:Breakfast was very poor

Review 125:Good comfort

Review 126:Clean, good location and affordable price

Review 127:Breakfast is included but there is no restaurant. You have to take your food to your room.

Review 128:Close to bus stops

Review 129:Nice area. Clean. Nice neighborhood.

Review 130:Location. Thankful for the bus stop out front.

Review 131:Clean. Bed was comfortable. Microwave and mini fridge

Review 132:No restaurants w/I walking distance

Review 133:Location, staff, parking all easy. Safe neohgbothood

Review 134:Some reception staff not too helpful.

Review 135:Room serviced very well.

Review 136:the breakfast is not a breakfast

Review 137:Poor the breakfast

Review 138:Everything very good
