Reviews for Hotel Stary Malbork
Review 1:This is a small hotel in quite a boring town which lives off its proximity to the superb 14th century Malbork castle. It has absolutely no atmosphere or charm at all. It would appear that some rooms are very large, but 107 was miniscule. The atmosphere in the bar and restaurant is worse than a morgue. I asked for a large room on a high floor and was given the opposite. The bed linen, although very clean, didn't quite fit the small bed. Location is in a nondescript kind of suburb with no restaurants or bars in the vicinity. When asked for a recommendation for somewhere to eat, the advice was 'McDonalds'. Enough said.
Review 2:Breakfast was huge and varied. The staff, although not very proficient in English, tried their best. A much smarter move for those wanting to visit the extraordinary castle is to stay in the beautiful city of Gdansk 50 kilometres away and come to Malbork for the day.
Review 3:Being older, there was no air-conditioning, so the rooms could get hot. However, the windows opened wide so there was no real problem.
Review 4:An individual older hotel run by an attentive family and staff, conveniently situated in a residential area just outside the city centre. Good accommodation and food and very welcoming.
Review 5:The only issue we had was that the wifi signal was not strong enough to work in our room. But the staff were upfront that it was likely to be a problem and told us where else in the hotel it was likely to work, which I appreciated.
Review 6:Our room was large and very comfortable, breakfast was tasty and the staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. The location is also pretty good for both the castle and the station.
Review 7:Nothing
Review 8:Situation near the center and the Castle. Friendlyness of all the staff. Good food. Parking closed, locked and free. Huge room, huge bed, great windows, quiet place.

Review 18:Excellent staff and service. Hotel is well kept but a little soulless, needing some warmth to be added.
Review 19:Breakfast a little bit poor
Review 20:Personnel very friendly Excellent location
Review 21:Location was excellent, can easily be walked to from train station. Staff spoke english, was very accomodating. The city of Malbork is beautiful and small perfect for romance or quiet travel. Castle Malbork is best I've seen in Europe.
