Reviews for Hyatt Arlington
Review 1:Excellent property, friendly staff. I needed a place to stay close to DCA airport and this fit the bill perfectly. It's half a block from the Metro to the airport.
Review 2:I think that at breakfast they should take into consideration guests' dietary restrictions regarding meat, since they had only bacon and pork at the buffet and they placed some chicken sausage in the same serving dish with uncured bacon or pork! I also had a bad experience on my arrival with someone at the front desk regarding payment of fees by Visa card ; it was midnight and l was very tired after about 24 hours of traveling. Any way it has passed now and no need to press it.
Review 3:The location was excellent just a few steps from Rosslyn metro station and ten minute walk from Key bridge to Georgetown. Housekeeping and guest service were good. At the restaurant and key bridge terrace the attendents were nice and friendly. At the front desk the staff were helpful. I thank everyone who was nice to me.
Review 4:The only negative was the cost of parking.
Review 5:I had just had hip surgery and the staff went above and beyond to take care of me, especially our "bellhop". He truly cared and it showed. All of the staff were very friendly while still being efficient. The bed was also very comfortable, which is important to me. We were located next to several restaurants, so my husband easily walked to get the dinner of our choice.
Review 6:Starbucks cafe didn't open at 645 as promised. Since we had an early flight we had counted on getting a quick bite beforehand. Couldn't wait until 7 fit it to be ready. Very disappointing. When we checked in the keys to our room did not work. After waiting almost half an hour we were moved to another room where the keys did work. Not professionally handled at all. Would have appreciated a free breakfast or a free night of parking to address what was a real fiasco. When family members called up to our room they were told that we were not at this hotel. After your staff finally found us they connected our caller to an incorrect room. Each time somebody called us it took over 5 minutes to be connected. Again very poorly handled. Again no effort by management to address this issue. Overall I was very disappointed with the Hyatt. I chose it because I recognized the name and being in Washington for the very first time. I would not visit this hotel again and in fact will make it a point to relate my experiences to anybody and everybody who asks me.
Review 7:I needed a place to stay overnight on Christmas Eve. This hotel is in a great location, the staff were very friendly and breakfast in the morning satisfying. Highly recommended.
Review 8:Second time staying here while visiting Arlington National Cemetery - very convenient to the cemetery as well as to Georgetown and central DC - staff is always very friendly and helpful - the room was clean and comfortable - will stay again.
Review 9:I did not like that the AC system cannot be turned of and the quality of air is less than optimal. Windows cannot be opened
Review 10:A great solution for DC work related visit
Review 11:I think the cleanliness can be improved a little bit.
Review 12:Hotel itself, Staff (Specially Robert) . It was very close to Metro Station. very close to other locations (e.g white house etc)
Review 13:I needed an early check in. I contacted the Hyatt via email the day prior. They were able to accommodate my request and it helped to facilitate my day in D.C. for business. Great stay!
Review 14:5 dollars for WiFi? In a hotel that presents themselves as business hotel? Come on! Don't shame yourselves for 5 dollars
Review 15:It is Arlington but still so close to DC. The subway is a minute walk from the hotel and you can get anywhere in DC in 15 minutes. Georgetown is a 5 minute drive and taxi costs less than 5 dollars to get there, using the bus it is one station and few minutes. The staff was great, the hotel is so mucher cheaper than DC located hotels and offers so much more. It is the cleanest hotel I ve ever been. If you travelling to DC choose this hotel. don't pay way to much for worse services.
Review 16:Swiping a credit card went wild - technology sometimes do not work in our favour. Who knows at which side of the ocean is to blame!!
Review 17:Reception & management worked to solve an unforeseen problem where a credit card temporary did not function. Its easy point fingers - Banks / technology sometimes run our lives.
Review 18:Did not have a bad experience but mattress in our room was due for replacement. Indention on both sides of king bed.
Review 19:Close proximity to metro Breakfast coupon option and delicious breakfast Staff very helpful Friendly bell hops
Review 20:Nothing it was great!
Review 21:Front desk staff were so great and welcoming! This hotel is in a great location at the Rosslyn Metro stop. I will definitely stay here again!
Review 22:Mattress, but like sleeping in my own bed.
Review 23:Most everything. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room had separate desk for working and small sitting area in King room. Room was very clean. TV was excellent having plenty of selections after a long day of site seeing in Washington DC. Convenient location to Washington DC.
Review 24:$23 to park overnight, when across the street is a public garage that charges $15. had I known that before pulling into Hyatt's garage, you would not have seen me there... and charging for internet access????? that's SOOO 90's!
Review 25:the beds are amazing!
Review 26:Blackout curtains really needed to meet both walls and floor. Glazing to reduce street and aircraft noise could do with being more efficient as on direct flight path to Regan Airport. Shower facilities not available in all rooms so had to have slightly different room specification to that originally booked
Review 27:Very convenient Metro access and local facilities. Friendly staff with comfortable accommodation, housekeeping (thank-you Ana!) and eating options. Generally happy with stay.
Review 28:Room's lights were very few and low voltage.
Review 29:Location and Value for Money! In the borderline of Washington DC city centre with 15min walking access to Georgetown via Key Bridge, Metro station opposite the hotel and located in a very safe area even late at night, surrounded by various cafe's and eateries. Hotel price was very good considering such location. Taxi to/from National Mall in the busy hours wasn't costing more than $15. Very quite at night for a good night sleep as being in a business neighbourhood and vibrant during the day. High speed Wifi was fantastic throughout the rooms and lobby.
Review 30:When I made my reservation I got a message that the reservation was non-refundable after I had paid for our reservations. We had to leave earlybecause of health issues and the staff acted like they were doing us afavor by refunding one day of the two day refund we thought we deserved. Also for the price you charge not having a free continental breakfastseems pretty cheap to me.
Review 31:Liked being able to access the Metro and the location to nicerestaurants and other attractions.
Review 32:Awesome property! The staff really friendly, room was clean and comfortable. They provided magazines in the room and a list of nearby Restaurants including Price Ratings, as well as free maps at the reception.
Review 33:front office receptive when i called to advise I had left cell phone in room. they returned call and will be sending phone to me via my credit card on file. this was a good experience and courteously handled.
Review 34:Firstly, we were given a smaller room than what was booked and later, our Internet access was restricted without any plausible reason. Lastly, they charged my account for more money than was due. My overall impression is that they are not straight or trustworthy people. Definitely, will never stay there again.
Review 35:Closeness to Rosslyn Metro Station.
Review 36:Cost of parking, but that would not keep me from staying again.
Review 37:The beds were very comfortable, the staff were helping and friendly and the location was close to everything we needed.
Review 38:the location is in a business area, meaning it is very quite in the evening and does not offer leisure or restaurants options
Review 39:Quite room, comfy beds, super friendly bellboys, free toiletries, close to metro. Only a 20min walk to Georgetown (bus is an option) Bus from Dulles Airport stops around the corner!
Review 40:Staff were not very friendly when checking in. When we requested a cot they told us we were not allowed since we had two double beds. We were also informed our view would overlook the city and instead it overlooked an alley.
Review 41:How close it is to DC.
Review 42:It's just me, but I have a difficult time sleeping on spring beds-and the springs kept poking me. even though it was a pillow top bed the springs managed to hit all of my pressure points.
Review 43:Staff was very friendly and helpful. located conveniently near the metro; which was an unexpected surprise for us :-)
Review 44:The only thing I did not like was the liner of the shower got soaked after the first shower, and by the time the third person showered it was dripping water on the floor.
Review 45:The front desk staff was very helpful, courteous and friendly. The next day during breakfast I accidentally placed a croissant in the toaster and it jammed it. Not only did the waiter get it out for me, but one of the cooks brought me a warm croissant from the kitchen. Also the chef that makes the omelets had a great attitude and his omelets were delicious. Another plus was the central location to all Metro lines.
Review 46:TV issues and spotty even when it wassupposedly fixed. Asked for comp but declined. Parking is not free and charge too high
Review 47:Place was clean, bed was comfortable.
Review 48:bathroom shower was squealing and faucet was loose so I couldn't pull the shower knob all the way.
Review 49:It was very convenient to everything we were after.
Review 50:Only issue I had was that T-Mobile network hardly existed in the hotel. Luckily, I had a secondary network
Review 51:The proximity to the metro, the comfortable bed and size of room. Also, the options of healthy food available throughout the day
Review 52:Rooms are a little pricey. Concierge (at front desk) shared good information but we found a few important details were lacking...however their recommendation was superb!
Review 53:The staff was friendly, accomodating, knowledgeable. Location was superb! Transportation options abound and convenient! Quiet comfortable rooms!
Review 54:The maid service was terrible. We asked for 3 washclothes only got 2 When she did leave 3 we got no hand towel. Then we ran out of toilet paper. The best is when she ate some of our snacks and left the wrapper on the stand between the beds. I wonder what else she went through.
Review 55:location was great. the staff at the front desk was very helpful and courteous.
Review 56:Pay for parking, coffee machine, T.V. Guide not selectable. Wi-Fi somewhat slow, air conditioning air flow directly towards bed.
Review 57:Cleanliness, courteous staff, nearby metro, nearby food mart, nearby restaurants.
Review 58:The breakfast included room price shown was pretty expensive. So I had to opt for a room without breakfast. So I wish they also had more affordable breakfast included room packages. But this should not be a big issue for most travellers, as there is a good Starbucks nearby! I also had the feeling that the sound proofing of the room could be better (no sounds were coming from outside, but you could hear sounds from the corridors of the hotel!!!)
Review 59:The best part of this hotel is its location. Its just a couple of steps from the Rosslyn metro station. If you are coming from Dulles International Airport, you can take a direct public transport bus (5A) from the Airport to Rosslyn Metro Station and you can use the metro to reach any part of DC. This makes it really convenient for those visiting DC without a car. The area is also very clean and looked safe! Another equally impressive factor was the staff. After a long flight of over 20 years, I reached this hotel in the morning. Though the check-in was mentioned as 3:00PM in my booking, the staff was really kind to give me an early check-in. Such instant reactions from the staff, according to the situations, show the character of a great hotel. The room and the bathroom were also very spacious and clean.
Review 60:Much room for improvement in basic processes. On arrival, received 3 different views on kids' breakfast pricing. When checking out, had to spend almost half an hour to avoid paying twice for kids' breakfasts.
Review 61:Full-service hotel with clean room.
Review 62:Wi-fi free in the room, but not working very good. Too cold even if turning off the air-conditioning. No breakfast included in an already high priced room.
Review 63:Room was on top floor, relatively quiet, nice bed and pillows.Gym.
Review 64:The check in process was not good at all specially the front desk girl had a bad altitude made us very uncomfortable couldn't find the reservation even though we showed up 5 hours later than the time we reserved it
Review 65:The general manager was superb !!
Review 66:My only complaint is the prices in the hotel restaurant are too high. Breakfast shouldn't cost $18; $13 is more reasonable.
Review 67:Hotel staff consistently friendly, courteous, and helpful. They went out of their way to engage us in a pleasant, sincere way.
Review 68:Close to Metro to visit Washington. Service was good. Nice bar, also with outdoor seating, where you can have quick lunches, breakfast and order from a Starbucks menu. Free Wifi. Parking. Nice hotel - keeping to the Hyatt's image
Review 69:The location is superior! Subway brings you everywhere in just a couple of minutes. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room spacious and convenient. Super price/ quality ratio!
Review 70:I may my reservation through booking.com. I was given one price, but when we check in the price has increased for two of days that we were to stay. I was very disappointed because I was not informed about the price increases before arriving. I am requesting a refund for the amount of the increase for those two days.
Review 71:Parking was terrible. Car wouldn't fit in garage. Street (metered) parking only that averaged 2-3 blocks away. Denied credit for Gold Pass points (very irritating).
Review 72:A former property owner in Rosslyn, I recently returned to the area on business and booked a room at the Hyatt. Directly across the street from the Metro, this hotel is a class act--beautifully appointed, yet quaint; quiet and safe; and just a short, lovely walk to Clarendon shopping, and the Key Bridge and Georgetown. On my return visits--for business and for pleasure--I will book my room at the Hyatt, my new "go-to" for comfort, cleanliness, optimal location and exceptional price for high value.
Review 73:1. the bartender closed the bar early. Seven people where there and we had to by the Manager person to reopen. He said we needed to give a good tip because this was out of company policy. Please reevaluate your hours of operation. Hotel staff even recommended leaving the hotel for outside establishments because they were closing. At the end reopened and we spent a lot of money there and had a good time. 2. Room service closed and not 24 hours. This is not normal. Omni has 24 hour beverage and limited service at least. Why do you you limit this? Laws?
Review 74:location, front staff, housekeepers, ice Maxine working and inspected.
Review 75:They did not have a King size bed available so we got a FULL size bed and the room it was in was tiny. There wasn't even room for a real door to the bathroom so they put a weird sliding door to save space.
Review 76:Great location. The hotel is steps away from the metro and only one metro stop outside of D.C. It was a great mix of being close enough to look at houses in DC but also reach parts of Virginia pretty quickly.
Review 77:The breakfast buffet had some good healthy choices, which I really liked, but i thought the buffet price of $19 was too much for what was offered. Usually prices like that would be for brunch and not just breakfast.
Review 78:The Resturant is very over priced and didn't have anything to eat when we went in for breakfast.
Review 79:The bellmen were wonderful. Very helpful and entertaining.
Review 80:It is a little expansive and have no breakfast for booking. 25 Dollar for one room is also expansive.
Review 81:The place near the subway and easy to get the 5A bus to Dulles airport. It very connivence for one night to stay near Washington DC for visit and go to airport for depart. The room is ok.
Review 82:Everything about the hotel. Service very poor. They intact gave me the inferior room than what I booked. And they said this happens when I book through third party.
Review 83:I liked the location and accessibility to metro station
Review 84:noise isolation could be better I reserved king size but got 2 double bad. There were only one king size room next to elewator
Review 85:few steps from subway - 10 minutes from DCA 10 minutes from Mall, walking distance to George town
Review 86:you had to sit on the floor by the window to use your phone. for that reason alone, we wont stay again. self parking and valet was very pricy. our guests had to park down the street
Review 87:Small TV, poor quality image (analog) Slow Internet connection Dated hotel i.e. needs renovation "low end" Crowne Plaza i.e. it is not up to the standard of a typical Crowne Plaza hotel.
Review 88:Location
Review 89:I requested to be billed for parking as a part of my stay, but swiping the room key would not let me exit the garage. Ended up double paying for parking, as I had to pay to leave the garage.
Review 90:Air conditioning was not working and it was quite warm in the room. We had to park on the street since we were told once we arrived that our van was too big to fit in valet parking. The room was very dated; I expected a Hyatt to be renovated and modern. We will NOT stay here again.
Review 91:I booked two Kingsize rooms and got two two bed rooms because no more kingsize bedrooms were available. My couple of friends were disappointed as they had to sleep in two separate beds.
Review 92:Very convenient location, close to the subway, great rates and comfort of the room.
Review 93:I can't imagine staying in an hotel without at least a complimentary bottle of water. Was told guests on the 9th floor not entitled. For the rate paid, I think that's a rip off. Won't go near that outlet again.
Review 94:The Hyatt brand
Review 95:I love staying at this Hyatt property! Not only are the rooms luxurious, but the staff are all very friendly with a good bar and restaurant. The location is a block away from the Metro station, giving you easy access to other parts of the city. Cabs also are always lines up right outside, giving you that additional transportation option (+ uber). The value for the price is very good.
Review 96:Friendly and attentive staff. No pool but we rarely use them. Cable TV selection is pretty good. Hotel bar is pretty nice with some local beers. The proximity to the Metro is a strong benefit of this property. There are lot of decent restaurants within a short walk. You cab get a cab instantly.
Review 97:When first arrived & saw the what so called lobby with a very budget type of hotels & the hotel's amenities & cleanliness was very primitive. Not what you would ever expect from Hyatt.
Review 98:Location is not bad
Review 99:No info about WiFi Breakfast for two for $25 should be offered to singles for $12.50 I feel my sister was discriminated against for being single.
Review 100:Staff was lovely! Nice to have BigBus shuttle service
Review 101:We ordered and has confirmed a king bed, but upon arrival, we were told that the king bed was not available. One of the double bed mattress was turned over, so that it felt like I was laying on a box spring. The next morning I called housekeeping and asked them to flip the mattress back over so that the pillow top was on top. When we arrived back in the room that night, a 1/4 inch mattress protector had been put on the bed, but the mattress had not been turned. My question is this...what was so bad on that mattress that it can't be turned over?? It felt very gross. The front desk staff said there was coffee service on the 2nd floor. There was not. Housekeeping did not take away our dirty linen. They left it on the floor of the hallway.
Review 102:The Bellman was wonderful.
Review 103:Paid for breakfast option. Didn't know it was buffet similar to what you get at a hotel that offers free breakfast. No ability to order off a menu. Nice choices but eggs cold both mornings.
Review 104:Very clean, comfortable, friendly helpful staff
Review 105:We sat down for their Buffet Breakfast which was wonderful, with a lot of healthy options. However, they have 2 breakfast buffet prices, $14 and $18 - we were not given a choice, but just chose buffet. Our waiter, whom was rude, charged us the $18 each price for the buffet and my 10-year old barely ate 1 plate of food. There should be a kids buffet option or at least the choice explained! Buyer Beware - but still very good.
Review 106:The hotel was close to metro with quick, easy access to DC attractions. The hotel staff was very friendly and the hotel and room were very clean! The room was small, but the bathroom was large and the bed was super comfortable!
Review 107:No fan in the bathroom so when I took a shower the entire room got steamy and hot! Very odd for a hotel. The TV was another problem in that changing the channels took forever (some kind of delay) AND the channel guide in the room did not match what came up on the TV. Also, paid internet??
Review 108:The hotel was located in a prime location right across the street from the Metro stop and a short walking distance to almost everything you would need (phamacy, coffee shop, etc). Bed was comfortable and the room was clean
Review 109:Tjust the overallhere were not enough towels and washcloth
Review 110:Great service and status. The breakfast was also great. The Bellman, Francis, was amazing. He was very helpful, had a great attitude, and very professional.
Review 111:No free wifi was a bummer. $23 a day for parking. Kinda wished the t.v. was bigger, and wished the front desk would have asked if I wanted any tourist information.
Review 112:The room service was awesom, good portion size and fast! Spectacular crab dip!!
Review 113:* The first room was 4th floor, close to air condition system with big noise. After complained, changed to 3rd floor which had strange noise in bathroom for the whole night. After complained again, changed to 10th floor which was better. The soundproof of window seemed not good, airplane flied over the sky frequently. * When I made booking more than 2 weeks ago, I asked for higher floor room, do not understand why they gave me 4th and 3rd floor which was bottom * The reception girls could be more friendly, I did not see smile during my stay of 3 nights.
Review 114:* close to Metro * close to restaurants
Review 115:Breakfast - we sat at 8:30 a.m. - only about 5-10 other people in restaurant. Ordered oatmeal and fruit. 9:00 - still no food.. Had to leave without breakfast. Disappointed.
Review 116:Extremely helpful front desk. Made copies, deliveries to rooms, even changed my room after noisy neighbors did not stop partying. THanks Front DESK!!
Review 117:Restaurant and room service not always the best. Prices steep, although I guess I can understand why, given the quality and and location of the hotel.lu
Review 118:Very nice facility. Clean, comfortable beds, friendly staff. Location is good - lots of places to eat nearby, and right next to Metro station to get into DC. I would stay there again.
Review 119:Wifii free in lobby and also in rooms but is very weak Parking is incredibly expensive
Review 120:Breakfast buffet was good - although staff didnt seem that happy working there Happy hour 4-7pm
Review 121:Wifi not free Noise, shouting and loud music in room next to us kept us awake till late the first night. After phoning twice security came and silenced them - we asked and got moved to a quiet room for the next 2 nights. No effort to compensate though.
Review 122:Close to Metro station taking you right to the Smithsonian Very clean and comfortable room
Review 123:They sent us to a room that was already occupied and double charged my card. Needless to say it was corrected but still something so simple should've went a lot smoother.
Review 124:The restaurant was very nice
Review 125:I don't like the wifi because you have to pay for it and it doesn't work well and when you enter from another phone, the first one will lose the wifi !!
Review 126:I like the beds and the location it is very good to stay there
Review 127:It seemed that no matter how much tip I left for the house keeping maid, they just continued the floppy job...as if they just couldn't wait to get it over with...
Review 128:Right next to Rosslyn metro station, so convenient to go to DC. Room is comfy. Yeah I know they charge for wifi, but it seems all the hotels in that region pretty much do the same, so can't blame them.
Review 129:I asked for a quieter room when I checked-in. I was assigned to 1015. It was a room right around the corner of the elevators and electrical room. I heard all the elevators during my stay. That was not peaceful. I didn't want to relocate to another room since I unpack all my stuff already. At check-out, the staff didn't ask if everything was alright. Quite surprise about the professionalism there or the lack of.
Review 130:I love the location of the hotel. In addition, the transportation options are great around the area. If you do have a rental car, go ahead and park with the hotel since it let you in-and-out throughout your stay.
