Reviews for Pavilion Samui Villas and Resort
Review 1:Spa expensive
Review 2:Fantastic location on lamai beach Very nice rooms Great staff Very good breakfast options We have stayed here twice now and both times were fantastic. To our surprise this time as returning guests we got a room upgrade, free bubbly, and a free buffet evening meal. Great location close to the action on lamai.
Review 3:just they need to make check inn and out more flexible and about the room was perfect except the toilet and shower room need to make it fully covered doors
Review 4:Everything was good , room , beach front , restaurant and hotel facilities
Review 5:None!
Review 6:The staffs in Pavilion really impressed me, very helpful and always greet us with a big smile. My actually did a wedding proposal at our own villa, and the staffs gave us a handful of help! Really apprwciate that. Great location, nice villa, impressive service from the ground people. What can you ask for more? I will definitely be back!!!
Review 7:Somewhat overpriced food and drinks. Quality of food and drinks sometimes does not match prices (e.g. cocktailes). Complaints did not result in any reaction from the staff. No room with a view at all.
Review 8:Overall very nice facilities, convenient, clean. Very nice beach and beach access, as well as pool facilities.
Review 9:We had to leave. hahaha
Review 10:We found all the staff extremely helpful. Leo at the front desk with his staff, Ting and the staff in the restaurant and the ladies that cleaned our room. I would recommend this resort to anyone that is looking at booking it.
Review 11:No organised activities around the resort during the day to occupy children if they needed it (ours did not though).
Review 12:The 2 bed pool residence was amazing, best part of the beach, didn't want to go home.
Review 13:Nothing. Some people may have issues with the limited seating around the pool (there's a beach right there!) and the restaurant may be expensive compared to other places on koh samui but it's still cheap compared to Australia.
Review 14:We loved our stay at the Pavilion. We rarely left the hotel. The staff, in particular the restaurant and bar staff, are amazing and so friendly. Especially Max and Tada! It backs onto the beach which is essentially a private section for hotel guests of the lamai beach which was beautiful and gives amazing views from the restaurant. Above all however our room was perfect, we were upgraded to a plunge pool suite with an enormous bed and were extremely comfortable in our modern room.
Review 15:I asked for some ice to be delivered to our room one evening and they said that in future they would charge for that so I complained about this to the management. The following evenings I asked for some ice at the Lookout bar and they didn't seem to have any problem with this request.
Review 16:Staff at breakfast were very nice and service was good but elsewhere at the hotel the service was definitely lacking.
Review 17:Restaurant a bit overpriced and hence deserted in the evenings (but several good alternatives along the beach and village road)
Review 18:Exterior design, use of water and flowers. Interior design, our private jacuzzi. Serviceminded and friendly personel Very good beach cleaning
Review 19:Cleaning standards sometimes sloppy / receptionists not very forthcoming + welcoming / compulsory New Years event costing £150 not advertised .. not a nice surprise on arrival! Menu limited / air conditioning noisy / provided amenities limited (no toothbrush / comb)
Review 20:Staff attentiveness / food taste / events organised / decent breakfasts / pool and layout / rooms / jaccuzi outside room / comfort of bed / barmen friendly / clean beach / happy hour decent prices
Review 21:The first room was not what we requested but they did change this the next day.
Review 22:Wait Staff were always willing to assist with any request at times without even asking. Especially Ting and also Worn at the beach bar.
Review 23:Room secrecy is not good, people can direct look inside d room especially in night time. heat of water is not stable. 2nd floor room is hot during afternoon time.
Review 24:modern room, nice design, spa pool.
Review 25:the staff are perfect, the bedding is divine. the facility is gorgeous
Review 26:facilities are old
Review 27:grand pool villa
Review 28:The staff were really nice, did their best to provide us a wonderful time The bedrooms with jacuzzi were fantastic
Review 29:nothing bad
Review 30:the location was great the staff were really lovely very helpful the staff at breakfast were the best
Review 31:Breakfast, was so so..
Review 32:BAR,drink.
Review 33:The whinging neighbors complaint about the noise we made 1 night.......
Review 34:Whats not to like about being on holiday and staying in a nice resort?
Review 35:The Room small simple not that clean , bathroom small , the food not tasty
Review 36:I like the staff welcoming the service exelent
Review 37:Very expensive. Only managed to stay there because got a special one day deal.
Review 38:Big Room. Beautiful Pool Area. Lovely Beach Side restaurant.
Review 39:Prices for food and spa uncompetitive with surrounding area
Review 40:Very helpful staff and beautiful pool and beach location
Review 41:nothing
Review 42:everything
Review 43:The water in the shower has a problem with the temperature
Review 44:Too many mosquitos that it became annoying :( The beach had some rocks which made swimming a bit annoying
Review 45:Design
Review 46:wi-fi
Review 47:location service
Review 48:Only thing was booked hydo pool villa expecting more private and better room. Room fine but pool directly overlooked by hotel rooms on first floor Also people walking on path looked directly into our shower. So not impressed....asked for different room and no option offered
Review 49:Nice place. Relaxing. Good location.
Review 50:They gave us a room, which we declined in the other wing of the resort( across the street) , we booked for the beach side not for that "new" wing . If u find yourself in this situation do not accept the apartment across the street
Review 51:The place is nice but is expensive for what it offers, the staff very nice except the manager
Review 52:Absolutely rip off. Facility is really old, free wifi is a joke as there is barely any signal in my guest room. Old and dirty basin, noisy old air-con, poorly designed shower and toilet area. We definitely not going to stay here again. The plunge pool room looks big in the picture, it is very small, barely has any space to move around and it is really dark.
Review 53:There is new part of the hotel over the street. Room there was just uncomfortable, noisy at night and not on the level we expected by information of the hotels web.
Review 54:Beach side, older part and location in Lamai were very good.
Review 55:Possible theft by room service: unconfirmed, but saddening. Our room was not on the original property, but through reception and across the road. The building was brand-spanking new, but it wasn't the same when we had to walk through the reception whenever we wanted to go to the beach/bar/pool/restaurant - felt almost like trespassing. Beware 10% service tax + 7% VAT tax. Happy hour slightly negates this with 40% off.
Review 56:Amazing cocktails by the pool! Clean, new rooms and extremely friendly staff. Nice stretch of Lamai Beach: perfect for a more relaxing stay away from the hustle, crowds and street sellers of Chaweng. Go elsewhere if you're looking to party: this is more relaxed and sophisticated.
Review 57:The pool went cloudy & couldn't b used for the last 3 days. Maintenance is not good. But no discount on room rate even though u pay for a room with a pool that can't b used.
Review 58:Staff r very friendly. U relax as soon as u get there.
Review 59:It would be nice to have later breakfast timings. 10a.m. close is a bit early when on holidays and the look-out bar sometimes closed early so no possibility of a stargazing nightcap.
Review 60:The location is right on a beautiful beach, ideal for lounging on or strolling along to the various restaurants along the sands. The staff are extremely helpful, and very friendly. Briliiant accommodation, especially Hydro pool rooms, relaxing place to stay. Loved every minute of the stay, for the third year in a row, hoping to make it a fourth.
Review 61:BE AWARE! They ask you to fill out a credit card form, where they ask you for the credit card number, expiration date and card SECURITY CODE (the 3 numbers on the back), and your signature, meaning, they can charge your card ANY AMOUNT at ANY TIME, and you will have signed off on it! They also ask if they can take a picture of you, for some sort of "customer database". We declined, and that was fine. Air-con blowing right in your face and a bit noisy. A bit small pool, but otherwise OK. There were a lot of stray dogs at the beach, and one actually followed us all the way back to our hotel, and STAYED outside our door for some time. Then when we went out for dinner, he disappeared (thankfully!).
Review 62:Very nice location (near the beach, close to the shopping street). Nice porch area, with a bathtub/jacuzzi, where you can sit relatively private (we stayed at the second floor, and had a view of the walkway below, but still private).
Review 63:Fitness room is horrible comparing the value and location of the resort Not recommended for group of friends.. Playing music is a problem because the design of the villas are deluxe ( wall to wall) ppl complained regarding the music
Review 64:Location perfect 8.5 Villas and rooms 8 cleanliness 8.5 family or honeymooners only
Review 65:Very expensive. More expensive than 5 star hotels in MelbourneAustralia. Rooms too dark. Only had one small window with wooden bars.Plunge pool was as deep as my knee. You had to pay for a deck chair eventhough we already paid so much on accommodation. Ive been to thailandfor the last 4 years and stayed in many many resorts and never had topay for a deck chair! If you want to stay in Lamai, there are muchbetter hotels and resorts in the area. If your considering Lamai, consider Chaweng instead. The resorts, beach, shopping, restaurants etcare much much better
Review 66:Very clean. Great friendly helpful staff.
Review 67:Pool area old, rundown and dated. Some sunlounges in pool area rotting and falling apart Rooms very dark Spa plug leaked, in our kids room no plug This hotel was one of five we stayed in on a trip of Thai islands. It was the most expensive (we got a last minute deal thank goodness) and the most unappealing. We have stayed in Koh Samui before for much less. Wouldn't recommend this hotel. Shop around!!
Review 68:Reception and breakfast area were well maintained. Breakfast was really good.
Review 69:- the polluted sea water by the smelly river next to the hotel - the rather cheap ingredients at the breakfast buffet (no fresh juice, molded cheese) - the old and dirty pool
Review 70:- friendly and helpful staff - nice, quiet and spacious rooms - location and short distance to restaurants and shops - good recommendations from the tour agents
Review 71:We stayed in a beautiful room with a small private pool. It was clean, the service is good. Breakfast is OK only. Beach is good, although the area has better ones in terms of sand softness and water depth.
Review 72:Hot tub in the room was old and poor quality compared to other hotelswe've used The spirit drinks! Are definitely watered down, it is anexpensive bar, so don't order stick to the beer in the bottles,Should have a free shuttle bus to the airport, I ended up haggling witha taxi driver outside paid 400 baht hotel wanted to charge me 600.
Review 73:Staff and service level were some if the best I've had, Beautifulresort very clean and pretty, Great beach front location Great qualitysun lounges Lamai is definitely more classy than horrible chaweng
Review 74:Rooms quirky and mostly rather dark. Ours had the wash basin in thebedroom opposite the bed with a small adjoining room for the shower anda separate room for the wc. Felt more like a bathroom than a bedroom.Food very expensive but many better value options nearby. As we spentsomething like £1500 in total with the hotel it is irritating to becharged £2 for a broken soap dish -wrong message I feel .
Review 75:Staff were all well drilled and excellent. Pool, beach bar and beachwonderful. Breakfast good. Grounds kept immaculately although most ofthe space is covered with hotel buildings.
Review 76:The room furniture was old and rather worn out. Lamai beach was littered with drifting waste and only seldomly cleaned by the various hotels, bars and massage salons facing it. We also spotted 3 bluebottle-jelly fishs (Physalia sp.) on 2 different days. This is a rather dangerous marine animal and unknowing tourists should be advised about their presence in the sea. All people we asked about them denied the existence of this jelly fish, so it seems to me that this issue is voluntarily down-played.
Review 77:The staff was efficient and friendly. The breakfast was good. The pool was good but not very big.
Review 78:The drinks are very expensive. The hotel advertise them at one priceand then add on a 10% service charge followed by 7% tax when you cometo pay. We had cocktails in their happy hour and they seemed to havebeen watered down or very little alcohol put in them. There is buidingwork going on all day at the moment so far from being relaxing there iscostant noise all day. There was no mention of this when we booked. Thestaff are very nice but they hover over you at breakfast making youfeel uncomfortable. For an expensive hotel this does not really makethe grade.
Review 79:Great location on the beach with easy walking distance to all the resortfacilities.
Review 80:The beach was dirty, one day we couldn't swim, the other days we hadto avoid the floating objects. The beach in front of the hotel could becleaned by the staff not only once a day in order to keep the sun bedsarea clean.
Review 81:Nice hotel, nice hydro pool, staff friendly and they do serve you coffeein the morning, you don't have to make your own as mention before.
Review 82:Deluxe king rooms had no room for sofa or armchair with coffe table towatch TV...or to eat room service...it was all about the huge bed thebalcony had day beds but too many mosquitoes to sit outside
Review 83:Restaurant was excellent spa was also great
Review 84:Rooms a bit small. Also no full mirror thus women have a problem getting dressed. Breakfast for vegetarians slightly limited.
Review 85:Small hotel thus staff attentive. Good location.
Review 86:Does not provide toothpaste and toothbrushes. Water takes long while to get heated up. Quite a lot of mosquitoes and places that allow breeding of mosquitoes.
Review 87:Comfortable, cosy and serve pretty yummy and decent food.
Review 88:Just minor problem, air-con is just right face on the bed, so it is not comfortable for sleep on.
Review 89:The resort locates at a beautiful beach and seaview swimming pool. Restaurant is just right at the beach so that we can have breakfast and enjoy the view. Room is clean and staffs are helpful and friendly. Resort is on Lamai walk street so lots of shops, Thai food or European food can be choosen. Excellent place for honeymoon stay.
Review 90:Nothing- everything was great.
Review 91:Luxury, comfort and amazing vibe. The resort was just relaxing and beautiful. the only problem during our stay was the bad weather (non-stop rain)- but that is not the fault of the resort... I would advise however, checking the weather forecast for Lamai before booking. The beach in front of the resort is very private. The spa in the resort was relaxing and the treatments we chose were good- using all natural ingredients. The staff were incredibely helpful and friendly.
Review 92:The design of our room was very poor with the TV on the side wall so 1 party could not see. The air conditioning unit was positioned poorly again directing cold air onto your face all night. We had to reverse the bedding and sleep with our heads at the tail of the bed. The internet connection was initially very poor and unable to log on, however after 3 days it was fixed. The worst point was the complex is under refurbishment with constant builders noise throughout the day, which is not conducive to a relaxing holiday. No mention of this fact when I booked.
Review 93:The excellent location on the beach and proximity to the shopping centre & restaurants
Review 94:Rooms with plunge pool do not have outside table and chairs like other rooms, have conservatory area but it is closed in and want to be outside in thailand, we upgraded for this reason.
Review 95:Rooms were great especially with hydro pool. Food was a very high class and staff went out of way to accomodate our needs.
Review 96:Nothing wrong with the hotel at all. Just thailand in general. Too many dirty fat old european men purchasing the services of young thai girls. some very young. kind of ruins the mood.
Review 97:Lovely room. Quiet location. Clean. Good breakfast. Very nice beach. Reasonably priced. Nice location, shopping and restaurants were a couple of minutes walk away
Review 98:Dinner could have been better, although the environment of the restaurant is great- by the sea
Review 99:Hotel atmosphere, beach, location, facilities, spa, breakfast, pool bar
Review 100:Lammai Beach is a very poorly resourced area and there were few good facilities locally. The hotel was in need of refurbishment and the rooms were without any view from the windows some were completely opaque and others faced on to the wall outside the room. The breakfast was only served until 10:00 am which for a hoiday hotel is not good at all!! Indeed when asking for a capuccino at 10:15 whilst still in the breakfast area I was told I would have to pay for it. No way!!!!
Review 101:Location by the private beach was good
Review 102:The power and water were cut once or twice and the tap water was very salty even to just shower with. The spa treatments were expensive compared to the widely available alternatives.
Review 103:Villa designs were nice and comfortable. Very friendly staff.
Review 104:Small swimming pool. Very expensive food compared to the restaurants onthe main road.
Review 105:Convenient location, steps away from Lamai Beach Road and restaurants.Outstanding spa, and very romantic restaurants. Great beach.
Review 106:Our room smelled quite bad whenever we put the aircon on
Review 107:Luxury hotel in great location! Fantastic pool area and great location on Lamai beach. Close to shops and bars if you want them but can easily stay in hotel and totally avoid the craziness of Thailand! Staff are excellent, so friendly and helpful. Rooms fab too.
Review 108:The shower in the room (h307) was a pain, impossible to set the righttemperature (very hot or cold, no options). Asked to change room(another hydro villa), checked the shower and found a similar problem, this time the temperature never got warm. It seems to be a problem withthe hydro villas, another shower I tested in a standard room was fine.Pity for the money we paid. Another issue is the inconvenient accessfrom outside with a stroller, there are two dozen steps to cross and noslides to use, so the only way was to lift the stroller with my wife onboth way in and out. Very inconvenient. Found eventually a secondaryentrance reserved to the staff that was easier, even if apparentlyforbidden to access for tourists
Review 109:Personnel is very kind and helpful, the resort is in a great location, quite in the evening and at walking distance to restaurants and bars. The hotel is very nice, booked the hydro villa and it was very cozy andwith a great privacy. Asked for baby sitting, late departure roomavailability, baby cot, a bathtub for baby bath, all was provided andstaff always supported my requests in a short time. Bed was king sizedand not too hard, that is a good thing considering Thailand standards.Internal restaurant was good and not too overprized, even if we oftenopted for external restaurants for more local experience and great valueper food ratio. The private beach is great, clean and 2 minutes walkfrom the rooms.
Review 110:Wow! Amazing hotel. I do travel a lot both in business and for holiday.Pavilion was one of the best hotels, I ever stayed at! I can highlyrecommend it
Review 111:If swimming in the private pool you can be seen from the units opposite on the upper floor. The front walls of the pool surroundings need to be raised to the level of the door frame in units 302 & 304, this would afford complete privacy. This would not be a costly venture to achieve.
Review 112:It was quiet and met our needs. The private pool was great. The Thai cooking classes offered were good fun and should be tried.
Review 113:The spa/massage was expensice inside the hotel. The same with dinner. But there are a lot of restauranst in a radius of 3-400 meters fromthe hotel.
Review 114:A beautiful resort, well situateded close to a nice, clean beach. Alresort with good facilities. Close to a lot og good restaurants andmassage shops
Review 115:Price if meals and drinks at the bar and hotel restaurants very high in reference to other restaurants around....
Review 116:Wifi connection wasnt satisfactory.
Review 117:The location of resort, location of resturant and breakfast buffet and its was quait and peace of mind.
Review 118:Breakfast should be extended to 11am
Review 119:The beach and staff were always happy to please.
Review 120:construction every moning
Review 121:Lovely location, staff very friendly, rooms very nice.
Review 122:starting to get a bit old. could need a bit of touch-up everywhere
Review 123:Great staff great beach
Review 124:could have changed the breakfast items rather than having the same items everyday.
Review 125:cosy room, nice environment at the resort.
Review 126:Renovations were in progress.
Review 127:all ok
Review 128:The food was mediocre at best. They tried really hard but it was just never really that good.
Review 129:Loved the rooms and the staff were outstanding!
Review 130:every thing was ok apart from the masqito pite
Review 131:mouse in the room. pool in the room not so good/ too cold . very expensive food/
Review 132:location. rooms/jaccuzzi. vila.
Review 133:food at the night restaurant could be improved.not synch with the high quality of the hotel.
Review 134:very nice rooms, nice beach, nice pool, nice people
Review 135:unstable wifi music too loud at the beach bar
Review 136:Mosquitos are every where even in the rooms, doors have gaps and that'show all the insects got in.
Review 137:Friendly staff
