Reviews for Silavadee Pool Spa Resort
Review 1:The beach is too dirty and too small(I won't call it beach). Room is fine but in raining day, the corridor in 2nd floor is leaking. The smaller swimming pool is a bit dirty, the bigger one is good. The location is not convenient. Not worth the money.
Review 2:We had to leave two days early because my wife and I had bad reactions to the mold/fungus in the suite. We had a pool villa and made of all wood with a roof that wasn't solid, water/moisture gets it. Bad design...so it smells like mold and we both woke up with puffy faces and allergies everyday. The food was okay, but you could get the same quality in town for 80% less and no dishes were 5 star quality. They wouldn't refund any money because they said there was nothing they could do about the moisure/mold and that's how it goes.
Review 3:Staff was friendly, but it felt forced, not genuine.
Review 4:Mosquitos everywhere. Mosquito repellant was not supplied. Electric plug they provided to supposedly repel mosquitos was useless. We were eaten alive by mosquitos - 30 bites each! Food was mediocre at best. Infinity pool was old and stained.
Review 5:The dinner Thai buffet (Siam) in the height restaurant is very normal, not worth the price.
Review 6:Room is very comfortable, view is awesome! Room service is good and the price is reasonable.
Review 7:Nothing at all
Review 8:Amazing staff very friendly very welcoming location is perfect for a get away just a small comment q out the on room dining should be 24 hour
Review 9:We booked Silavadee as a special gift for my birthday vacation, and wish to have a wonderful experience here. However, we felt Silavadee just won the worst service experiment in our 20 night stays in Thailand. The biggest problem is that we found out some payment issue while check out. There's some policy conflict & misunderstanding between Booking.com and Silavadee. Furthermore, reception staff didn't show our sign bill while we check in,which lead us spent extra 26 hrs with a half-day schedule delay after we check-out, only for fixed this issue. This inefficiency problem saving speed made huge impact to our vacation schedule, and is not expected for a five-stars resort which should have high serving quality. Lacking reception staff and really-slow computer system might let you wait 30 mins for check-in/out. Please take your time if you have tight schedule. Mosquitoes are everywhere, even we didn't open the door/window. Mosquito incense/spray provided by resort seemed useless. Please consider to bring your own electric mosquito swatter, or beat them by hands in your spacious villa. Don't spend your precious vacation time to write suggestion questionnaire for Silavadee. Reception lady said each questionnaire will be replied by their senior manager, but obviously there's no single word reply 30 days after our stay.
Review 10:Friendly grassroots staff, but reception staffs ruined everything. Unique rocky shore scenery in Samui. It would be a meaningful stay, if you imagine the overpriced/wasted money is a donation for sea turtles somewhere in Gulf of Thailand.
Review 11:I booked a room but it was next to the lobby very noisy and smelly, had to change to a villa beautiful but more expensive , daily flights from Samui airport flying over this resort, not as quiet as advertised
Review 12:Beautiful green garden area, friendly personnel , very clean
Review 13:The beds mattress are old and need changing - after some nights our backs were hurting. The private beach requires a lot more attention, cleanliness and better service, such that it would be used more. SPA is overpriced, restaurant staff in "Height" not correctly trained. Shuttle service times to Chawend needs improving.
Review 14:Excellent views, very friendly and helpful staff at reception, nice swimming pools with many friendly moskitos :) so make sure to use the spray provided.
Review 15:There were a few staff at the pool area and they were very friendly otherwise they could all do with some retraining in customer service. Wi Fi for a 5 star hotel was pathetic, if you are planning to do any business and need it then don't. overall I do not think value for money based on what else is available in Thailand.
Review 16:-staff didn't all speak english -so many mosquitoes -location is far from the main beach
Review 17:-amazing staff -manager helped us make our panoramic view villa even better when we asked to cut the trees -the best gym with a view -overall (9/10)
Review 18:nothin
Review 19:salavadee is one of the best hotel i have ever met,the stuff there are very nice, private beach, swimmig poor gave us a very good feeling.the hotel is next to Banyan Tree, the transportation is not so good but the hotel has free shuttle van.
Review 20:Swimming in the sea is very difficult and a little bit dangerous, but the swimming pools are perfect. WiFi don't run in the rooms
Review 21:The place is very beautiful and quiet . The staff is extremely friendly and helpfull
Review 22:Shuttles to the nearest cities should run a lot more often. Maintenance is due specially on the wooden surfaces, parkets and decks.
Review 23:We booked an Ocean View Pool Villa and they upgraded us to a Duplex Ocean Front Pool Villa. It was really nice! All the staff is very gentle and polite. The spa is very good.
Review 24:No personalized service like in comparable five-star resorts on the island. Service is friendly, but lacks the attentiveness to make it outstanding. Perhaps due to high occupancy, staff seemed a bit overwhelmed and operations less efficient than they could be at times.
Review 25:The view from the ocean front pool villas is stunning. Very comfortable and sunny terrace. The Thai food at The Height is pretty good.
Review 26:Overall this property is just fantastic with good restaurants, beaches, pools, the view from the room. The staff were really friendly and helpful. There is so much greenery all around and of course waters :p.The Lamai Bay view is just mesmerising. Both their infinity pools were totally amazing. The height restaurant has a nice outside seating. The food in all their restaurants was pretty good. We witnessed spectacular sunrises, sunsets & moonrise all from the same hotel property! I wish we could spend more time in this amazing property. We would definitely be visiting Silavadee again.
Review 27:Upon leaving we were stood in reception with two very heavy back packs and hand luggage. We asked for a taxi from reception however, the prices always seemed to be much higher than you would be quoted anywhere else we noticed this throughout our stay. We decided it best to get our own taxi rather than be ripped off by the hotel (its like they add on some kind of surcharge). One problem with getting our own taxi is that the hotel is at the top of a long steep road not something you would want to walk down with heavy bags. The hotels owns a couple of mini buses and 4x4's so we asked for a lift to the bottom of the hill they refused and asked us to pay! Bearing in mind that was just after we had settled a fairly large bill, a little disappointing. One other point is the staff are very friendly but most of them really struggle with English which led to confusion when ordering at times.
Review 28:Loved the general look and feel of the place it is a truly amazing hotel. We had a pool villa with ocean view and it was a highlight of the whole trip to Thailand. Having your own infinity pool is something we could of got very used to. Breakfast was second to none and the view from the dining room is picture perfect. The main infinity pool is equally as amazing with views uninterrupted vies of the ocean in front and a great pool bar behind. Highly recommend this place I would love to return.
Review 29:The beach was not cleaned after the storm for several days we were there.
Review 30:Everything was great except weather. It was raining for the whole week we stayed there. Very nice and big room, great restaurants
Review 31:The location is not convenience, very far from the changwen beach , but it is ok if you want to go to the lamia beach..
Review 32:This hotel is amazing , I like it so much , the room is big , clean, comfortable. And the view is the best .... Highly recommended !!!
Review 33:It's will be better that if have the beef in breakfest。
Review 34:Good service ,so quiet。 it is a good place to enjoy your holiday, and have a private beach ,it’s wonderful!
Review 35:- Unbeatable location - Serene layout full of lush green trees and plants - Extremely friendly and helpful staff - Delicious food catering to local Thai, Eastern and Western influences - A haven for relaxation, we only visited for seven days but left recharged and ready to take on the world
Review 36:overpriced in general, the facilities are aging and do not match a 5 star hotel. Going places is costly mainly because you feel forced to use the hotel to book taxis and this is way too expensive. the SPA is great but equally very pricey
Review 37:Breakfast choices, swimming pool views, stunning location, good service and staff attention, good Asian restaurant
Review 38:We were booked into the hotel rooms at first. The shower wasn't working very well so we were moved for one night to a villa. It was so lovely we decided to extend our stay. Absolutely everything you could want for a relaxing holiday. The private pool was amazing! The staff were very helpful too and we will go back.
Review 39:WE weren't informed that one Of the pools Will be in reformation works.
Review 40:WE like everything. It was a great time spend there. Great breakfast, beautiful view. Nice shutle service to lamai and chaweng beaches.
Review 41:Foods and beverages in the hotel is so expensive, do not eat anything in the hotel
Review 42:If you would stay here choose tropical pool villa it has the same conditions with other villas and the price is the cheapest, Perfect hotel for couples
Review 43:the receptionist not so friendly except a big size girl. location far away from main road and not easy to get transportation, the hotel charged unreasonable price for the transporation, one skinny receptionist did not tell me activities of the day then i regret very much that i missed a karat tour on that day; after i received massage, i felt dizzy and sick afterwards, my doctor said it may caused by pushing the wrong point.
Review 44:nice view, nice swimming pool,
Review 45:The view from our room..was surreal
Review 46:Hope the staff become more nicer
Review 47:The view of the sea
Review 48:None
Review 49:Super view, facility and service! I like the swimming pool and the boat game very much. The breakfast is just amazing! I would come back again.
Review 50:Wifi, breakfast
Review 51:quiet atmosphere, nice staff
Review 52:Stunning villa overlooking the ocean; privacy; quiet; amenities; friendliness of staff; excellent breakfast

Review 54:Staffs were very helpful, The view is amazing, the breakfast and all the restaurants
Review 55:The restaurant at was a disappointment at dinner
Review 56:Villas were very nice
Review 57:Stayed in a 1bed villa was excellent all round well worth the money comfort facilities and staff made for a cracking time.

Review 60:none
Review 61:We loved the private pool, enjoyed a lot there. Friendly staff, great location, beautiful seaside.
Review 62:Nothing
Review 63:Everything
Review 64:"unstable hot water supply" for shower & bathtub in the room.
Review 65:Nice view & environment
Review 66:wifi in room sometimes slow
Review 67:staf nature pool
Review 68:Nothing.
Review 69:The quietness and the staff are very helpful.
Review 70:Everything was just perfect
Review 71:We went for our anniversary and they did not do anything special !
Review 72:Food
Review 73:Service at the height was average, they treated asian people differently.
Review 74:All Staffs at reception were very helpful. The view was good
Review 75:Gaps between the fences eroded the privacy to your private pool and villa. The beach and rocks had rubbish which took away from the beautiful view. Although this wouldn't deter me from booking again.
Review 76:The infinity pool overlooking the sea was amazing.
Review 77:Sewer smell next to my bedroom and swimming pool. Too much burocracy to check in My bedroom wasnt ready on time (they upgraded me after I complained two times) Massage service very expensive comparing to anywhere in thailand
Review 78:Swimming pool Free upgrade on the bedroom (because the one i booked wasnt ready on time) Sunset/Sunrise
Review 79:Swimming pool is too small and the beach wasn't great comparing with chaweng beach as the sands were quite rough n full of seaweeds.
Review 80:Quiet and spacious room , staff were friendly .
Review 81:Hotel is amazing, the staff is very kind and always helpfull, the hotel is very quiet and sitting on a hill, it was really perfect choice, and we hope will spend again a great time in Silavadee
Review 82:Is a bit of a walk from hotel to main road (approx 10 mins), but there are shuttle bus service to main beaches (every hour to Lamai).
Review 83:Wonderful swimming pools (there are 2) with breath taking views. Friendly staff and always happy to help. Silavadee is off the main street so is quieter with more privacy compare to other resorts in Koh Samui.
Review 84:Poor English from the staff. Staff service attitude was good, competency was only ok. Definitely a cut below Banyan Tree, Sixsense, and Four Seasons (but also a lower price). Probably good value compared to other choices on Samui.
Review 85:Nice public pool. Great location. Great secluded beach. Good breakfast. Good room service food.
Review 86:poor service. very poor english main restaurant out of commission. beach dirty and unuseable. no where near 5 star. room service poor concierge asssitants very limited poolside bar very inadequate everyone else complaining that it was oversold. nearby hotels which are 5 star(renaissance/banyan tree)etc,a world apart; The Manager never around; All probelms left to junior staff, most of which could neither understand or be understood; just poorly run and certainly not worth the money
Review 87:smiley staff overral location great breakfast spa room size and decoration
Review 88:It was a bit far from Chaweng beach which has the shops, resturants and night life.
Review 89:The luxurious 1 bedroom private villa with private infinity pool and sea view we stayed in, was absolutely amazing! The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 90:Breakfast could do with more variety. The night staff needed more training, as they didnt seem to know what they were doing while we were checking out.
Review 91:The spa was very good but expensive. The day time staff were very helpful and polite. Really good wifi signal.
Review 92:It was our second hotel, where we were spending our honeymoon. Amazing!!! Everything was great..we had double room with sea view and jacuzzi in the balcony, where you can spent evenings..the room size was huge, you got everything..the staff smiles all the time and was very helpful and nice..food was very delicious, at breakfast time you can get a glass of prosecco..the view was stunning..private beach very nice, but not very suitable for swiming, but there is a large pool..the hotel provides free shuttle service to Lamai beach few times per day, and to Chaweng beach..of course, the location is far from everything, but before you go you need to choose what you want..superb..we enjoy it very much..thank you to all staff :)
Review 93:1. The facilitis are poor- one small pool (unlike the pictures), no gym, no even sauna or jacuzi as you will expect from the name of the hotel. 2. Because of that do not deserve the 5 star ranking. 3. The service in the breakfast and in the beach bar is not good- they don't smile and make a lot of mistakes 4. The hotel offers a shutle van to lamai and chaweng- the hours of that service are not good even for dinner. 5. The variety of the movies are poor and there sre only old movies. 6. The price is not worth it
Review 94:1. The beach is beautiful 2. Breakfast is unbelivable 3. The rooms are good
Review 95:According to its 20000 bath villa rate, the service need to be improve. No welcome drink, no turn down service, I even need to pay for thesimple water on the private beach.
Review 96:The location and the landscape are great, nice private beach, and waterare clear,so much fishes, good for snorkeling.
Review 97:The food quality and selection from the in house restaurant is very good. Infinity pool over looking the ocean from a cliff is great. Meeting the management team at the cocktail evening really showed us how much they wanted our stay to be as good as it could be. Very friendly and genuine staff. Will stay there again.
Review 98:Our room had a bad wifi connection. Outside of the room it was good. No taxis near the hotel so you must walk around 15 min to the main road or to call a taxi using the hotel which is more expensive.
Review 99:This hotel was our favorite in our honeymoon! It has an amazing view and best pool we've ever had! Excellent food and rich breakfast. The hotel is very quiet so you can relax and enjoy every second of your stay. Another great thing that the hotel offers is free transportation to lamai and chaweng! (Few times a day)
Review 100:Nothing!
Review 101:Everything..... I just can't think of any negative thing about this Resort... So Beautiful, Lovely helpful staff. Tasty food, breakfast blew me away!!! We will definitely come back... We actually extended our stay for another couple of nights, coz it's was so relaxing there!
Review 102:Supposedly 5 star but by far not up to that standard . Whole hotel needs thorough renovation and freshing up, worn furniture & equipment needs replacement. Spa too expensive.
Review 103:Helpful staff , large room , good bedding , little attentions ( daily fruit , cookies in the evening )
Review 104:Location was far from crowds. Trouble when you are looking restaurant at night outside of the hotel. At night, basically you are doing nothing. Suggest to rent a car when you stay at Silavadee
Review 105:Food and pool were beautiful.... I booked a room with private pool, I could not resist to swim everyday. Public pool was also excellent, looking at the sea, you can swim while seeing a sunrise....
Review 106:The latest shuttle bus in the evening to the beach town is one-way service, have to take taxi back.
Review 107:The view from the balcony of our room is very nice. The design of the hotel, particularly those facilities along the beach, the restaurant and swimming pool. The breakfast tastes good, although not much choice.
Review 108:The road approaching to the hotel was not carpeted. They should invest a little and ge that road fixed. Specially when you are riding a scooter it will help.
Review 109:The staff used to serve us chilled honey ice tea in chilled galsses. After a hot trip outside everytime at the reception.
Review 110:Beach wasn't nice for swimming. Long walk down and up from the beach. Hotel was a bit pricey. Pool needs a makeover.
Review 111:The morning buffet breakfast was really good just wish they had refreshed the food as allot of trays sat empty.
Review 112:needs more shuttle service to cheweng. rocky beach.
Review 113:EVERYTHING!! from the most friendly and polite staff who spoke well enough english, peaceful location, amazing sea views, our 2yr old loved the private pool . we definitely consider coming here again ,
Review 114:When I booked on booking.com three weeks prior (cancellation rate) itclearly stated that the hotel dues to be paid in local currency. Whilechecking in I gave my credit card details stating that this was asecurity and payment will be made in local currency in cash which thehotel agreed. But while checking out on 26th March'2013 the hotelcharged on the card the day I checked in ie the 22nd March'13 forall 4 days of my stay. Firstly why did they charge before I used thefacility when I had booked a cancellation rate. Secondly when I offeredcash on the 25th March'13 they refused to accept. The thai bahtswere a waste and only after a lot of discussion did they reverse theentry. I am unable to understand the same and wonder if there is someunderstanding between booking.com and silavadee which I am unaware of.
Review 115:The private infinity pool was a treat. We were upgraded was great.
Review 116:I like the room..the restaurant was great..the view was spectacilar..pool was nice..it is in lamai beach..far from chaweng beach but there is a shuttle bus or you can rent a car
Review 117:The location was quite remote that faced to the north East meaning the pool and the beach lost the sun early afternoon. The setting is built on a hillside with very steep pathways to the pool, beach and villa locations, vey unsuitable for the more mature visitor. Upgrade could have been offered earlier due to low occupancy.
Review 118:The views were stunnig from the Sunset Rooms and the beds were very comfortable.Last night upgrade to pool villa as the resort had very low occpancy.
Review 119:1.Not frequent enough shuttles to connect this beautiful place with other areas (Chaweng, lamai).. The taxi relatively expensive..but we solved it by hiring a scooter.2. The beach was nice but really tiny and difficult to swim due to rocks and seaplants..but there was a marvelous panoramic pool which absolutely compensated the almost absence of sea.
Review 120:Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The villas with pools wereawesome..the cuisine was great..very green and beautiful nature..theatmosphere in general was very relaxing and private.
Review 121:At the beach was a lot of waste. Staff should clean the beach regularly. We did not like the idea of a compulsory New Year's Eve party.
Review 122:Staff was very friendly. Big, nice and comfortable rooms.
Review 123:Hotel provides very few shuttles to chaweng and lamai, therefore youneed to often take taxis to get out of the hotel. There is only onedining option in the hotel, which is not very inviting with the isolatedfeeling. Going into water is very rocky. Hot tub in the balcony is oneof the first hot tubs - it's definitely not worth having at all!
Review 124:The view is amazing! Uphill location allows a perfect view of the bay.Rooms are spacious and modern. Breakfast buffet is very rich withadditional a-la-carte options.
Review 125:due to a power cut on the island, our reservation did not come through. Although it was not the fault of the hotel, they did just everything to remedy this error in a most professional way. One of the best hotels I have ever staid in. The villa is spacious, very nicely decorated, good wifi, fantastic view, extremely comfortable. The breakfast is delicious, good choice and the view from the terrace, hmmm :) The beach is large enough, very private and like a little paradise.
Review 126:We asked for a change to a villa where all 4 of us could stay together in one room. They asked for a big sum to top up for the upgrade. After seeing the villa, we decided to stay put with 2 rooms but they then later offer it to us for free and insisting we move to the villa!
Review 127:The beach and the infinity pool is very pretty but the resort is not as new as it deemed to be. A little inconvenient to travel to town and it's shuttle service is only twice a day.
Review 128:The elevator music in the Spa. Coud be replaced by more authenticThai classical music or Indian classical music which would beequally relaxing.
Review 129:Nice facilities, the whole thing is well thought and ecofriendly.
Review 130:Hotel was undergoing (much needed) renovation during our stay - otherguests knew about it in advance and said they received special rate dueto that. It should have been noted prior to our online booking. Howeverwe received an upgrade to a villa as compensation which turned to be atruly unique experiences. The transportation costs to/from hotel are farabove what we expected. Instead of compensating for the remote solitudewith more rapid or cost effective shuttles the hotel provides minimalshuttle services and costly complimentary transportation. Last -recommend adding a tap to wash sand from feet on ramp from beach - wegot all wet trying to get the sand off our ankles.
Review 131:Amazing atmosphere and very interesting decor with wood stone immersedin tropical gardens & pools. Private quite beach and beautiful scenicinfinity pool. Service accurate and elegant and exquisite cuisine. Bestsuited for couples seeking romantic getaway. Villas are an absoluteluxurious pearl. If you can afford it, don't miss it. Hotel staff arekind and smiling all times. Cost of food in hotel is more thanreasonable and atmosphere at terrace deck based bar & restaurant beatany place on the island. Cool evening breeze on the terrace with a drinkin your hand - priceless. Hundreds of butterflies in the air. We weresad to leave.
Review 132:A few items were not available on the breakfast menu, which is undeserving of the price paid
Review 133:Nice private beach, generally met the expectations of a 5 star resort with good quality amenities, beach bag etc
