Reviews for Hôtel Djerba Erriadh
Review 1:towels were never changed or room cleaned light bulb had to be changed
Review 2:friendly nice warm people the building is lovely and right on the center of the city
Review 3:The rooms are very poorly furnished. the toilets are not clean and there was no hot water at all. Heating system was not working even though the weather was very cold outside. in fact the night was stayed there it was raining all night and I had to leave very early in the morning and the entire area was flooded and I had to wade into pools of water.
Review 4:Location of the hotel is excellent in the middle of the old Homut Souk. the external design was very good.
Review 5:Extremely good location. The hotel is amazing. Staff is verry friendly. You are right in the middle of the market. AC is working. The facilities are simple but they all work.
Review 6:Access to internet was limited to the desktop situation in the lobby downstair, as there was no wifi.
Review 7:Firstly, I want to mention that Fiti, the hotel manager on duty between 19:00 and 07:00 was the friendliest and most helpful man I we encountered on the whole trip. Although there was a slight language barrier (my French is terrible and Arabic non-existent) Fiti was very helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is traditionally decorated and has the look and feel of Tunisian originality. The bedrooms are clean and also well decorated. The courtyard is beautiful and one can spend hours lounging under the indoor tree being showered in flowers! (Until the mosquitos eat you alive due to the courtyard being roofless!) The room is very well priced and anything needed is provided. We loved our 4 night stay and we will certainly be looking to stay again upon our next visit!
Review 8:The breakfast was unimaginative (given the nice food available in the town). We had to ask specifically for hot water (but once we did, it was provided).
Review 9:Beautiful quiet historical building in the heart of the pleasant old quarter of Houmt Souk. Friendly and helpful staff.
Review 10:A taxi ride is necessary to travel to the sandy beaches. No women in sight after night fall. Rooms are really need of some maintenance. The ensuite shower room was in a terrible state.
Review 11:Location in the very centre of the old town. Charming central courtyard. Perfect for souvenir shopping and experiencing a more traditional lifestyle.
Review 12:The hotel is located in the souk, so that means you will be hassled by merchants whenever you leave or return to your room.
Review 13:The hotel is located in the souk area of Houmt Souk and is about 10mins walk from the bus station. This means you will never be far from a restaurant, which is handy. Staff were friendly enough and the place was clean. Rooms are air conditioned and there is breakfast provided, which is decent for the price. Building itself is nice and there is a bird cage in the courtyard that adds character.
Review 14:Everything was fine!
Review 15:The Hotel is surrounded by small cafés and is near the market. The inner courtyard is beautiful and invites sitting outside. The staff was friendly. The rooms were air conditioned and the beds comfortable. It was quiet during the night. Nice breakfast.
Review 16:Over all is so weak in term of service always no body to cover the reception they didn't care at all about my request mentioned in my booking. No body take care of the room cleanliness, the garden is too dirty ( dead leaves, unts...) I will never recommend it to any body at all.
Review 17:Nothing to mention just it has no relationship with the pictures that they post on the website. The pictures are fake. They must be honest.
Review 18:This is more of a hostel than a hotel. It is in desperate need of some tlc. The rooms are bare and old but not particularly dirty. One has to understand that this hostel is in the centre of the old town, which is fine for shopping in the souq and eating a traditional meal however it is a couple of kilometres away from the Zone Turistique where all the restaurantants/nightclubs are. The Zone Turistique is also where the sandy beaches are.
Review 19:Very cheap and right in the centre of the old town.
Review 20:I simply loved this place!!! I've been there for two weeks and Itotally felt like being home. People are amazingly kind. It'sexactly in the heart of the city and everything is close by. You cantake a cab and go to the amazing beaches for only 3 or 4 euros. Roomsare really beautiful and comfortable. Very simple and basic but theatmosphere is really magical. Don't go there if you expect somethingEuropean style and extra luxury. Go there if you want to live a realmagical djerba experience. I actually miss that wonderful place!
Review 21:Very helpful and kind staff. The hotel is in the heart of the souk wereyou can live the vibrating atmosphere of the bazar. Many restaurantsarond and coffe shops. The hotel has a quiet and fresh patio where youcan take a break from the bustle of the medina or the sun in peak hours. From the terrace you can enjoy a nice view over Houmt Souk roofs. Veryclose to the Marina, though to go to the beach you should use publictransportations (scheduled busses one each hour from 6 am till 20:45) ortaxis which costs approx 5tnd one way. Rooms are decorated with thetypical local tiles and are very charming and clean. I would reccommendthis hotel to those people who prefer to stay off the beaten track ofall inclusive hotels in zone touristique.
Review 22:You cannot pay with card and it was complicated to get money. For some reason it was cheaper To pay in euros than dinars (we didnt had enough thought). They were not flexible when we asked to change out reservation and the breakfast is really really basic.
Review 23:Location is great. Big rooms, nice patio were you can soy in the night and chat with other people.
Review 24:breakfast is sumpel but ok for the price
Review 25:magic ambiance
Review 26:- English (but this is very usual for Djerba)
Review 27:- Perfect location (if you want to stay in Houmt Souk instead of Touristic Zone), very helpful staff
Review 28:Wifi isnt good in room and no tv and no refrigerator in room
Review 29:A good historical place... Nice and friendly stuff
Review 30:Good people and very cooperative...
Review 31:The bathrooms had a horrible smell. I think a daily use of disinfectant and loo blue bloc could alleviate some of the malodorous smells. We appreciate the building is old and do not expect modern hotel standards. However, I think the bathrooms do need a proper scrubbing, as they were grubby. Other than that, we loved the hotel and would stay again for sure. Many Thanks to the Staff.
Review 32:Relaxed feel of the hotel. A peaceful place to relax and read books. Laundry facilities good. Washing line on the roof. But, did not discover it until day 3! Perhaps, guests need to know about it. Staff were so friendly and it was fun to practise our French. On our departure the night porter even wheeled our suitcase to the taxi rank.
Review 33:Like much of Tunisia, Djerba is suffering a lack of tourists and income and consequently there is not enough income for hotels to afford better maintenance.
Review 34:This is a charming and quiet (no televisions) little family-run hotel in the middle of the medina. All rooms (tiled and decorated in the local style) include ensuites and face into the delightful open courtyard featuring an old well. The owner and staff are very pleasant and helpful although they do not speak much English. There if free wifi in the courtyard where a simple breakfast of tea/coffee, bread, cheese, jam and yoghurt is served each morning. They will happily store your luggage, let you use the phone and have a day room at no charge on your day of departure, if available.
Review 35:The weather was cold outside & the room was also cold. we found out there was a heater available, but we were checking out already.
Review 36:Beautiful building in a great location.
Review 37:WiFi wasn't easily accessible from the rooms towards the back of the accommodation.
Review 38:Location in the heart of the medina. Great value for money. Really comfortable.
Review 39:&Quot;Breakfast" is minimal and not of good quality. Plumbing inthe bathroom could use some attention and the rooms were quite dark. Butit's a budget place and it met our expectations just fine.Otherwise, my biggest complaint is the of the other guests. I recommendasking ahead if any tour groups will be staying during your trip asthose present during ours acted as if they had the place to themselves.Noisy, obtrusive, and generally inconsiderate.
Review 40:Very friendly and attentive staff. Lovely architecture, sparse yetattractive decor. Good value.
Review 41:mosquito
Review 42:the place have its charm, feels like you live then
Review 43:Other than announced when booking, it was not possible to pay by card.
Review 44:Really beautiful place and beautiful rooms.
Review 45:they dont have hot water, noisey, and bad servse.
Review 46:Great location in the middle of the Souk, free wifi, easy check-in & checkout
Review 47:there was no 24 hot water
Review 48:Attitude of staff,Central location
Review 49:Location, friendly staff, beautiful courtyard
Review 50:in state of near total disrepair, and not at all clean
Review 51:well located in the Souk..historic fuon duc house
Review 52:Could be more clean.
Review 53:location was ideal for houmt souk.the riad is an old foundouk so has lots of character and staff was excellent
