Reviews for Vandrarhem Uppsala Kungsängstorg
Review 1:My stay was for 15 days and I went out of town during the weekend in the middle. When I came back Sunday evening, the main entrance code they provided me the previous week was not working any more... So I was locked out of the hotel for a while trying to discover what was happening with my code... Then, I call the reception and they gave me the new code for the second week. But in any case, they should let me know that every week needs a new entry code. It was not a good moment staying outside in the cold evening Uppsala without knowing why my entrance code was not working.
Review 2:Nice and calm. The shared kitchen was well equipped and the shared bathroom was always clean. The location near the Centrum and not far away from the University was also really convenient. The staff (during the reception hours) was very nice and kindly. I would stay there again if I have to come back to Uppsala.
Review 3:toilet and bathroom facilities are clean, but seem limited to the number of guests that use them
Review 4:it's a quiet and nice place to stay in, located near the central station and key places in Uppsala
Review 5:that the bed linens and towels had to be rented; the beddings don't smell nice
Review 6:the location is very convenient and the place is tucked away in a nice, quiet courtyard.
Review 7:The aeration system goes all the time, also during night, and makes a terrible noise that makes it hard to sleep. The roof window has only a light curtain and in summer there is no dark in the room, making it hard to sleep. You must rent towels and blankets.
Review 8:The location is good, the hostel is nice and clean.
Review 9:The internet slows down in the evening wehn all the other students come to their homes and log in.
Review 10:Michal is a very kind guy who is very interested in the wellbeing of his guest. Everything is perfect organised and very clean. I also have to say that he can tell you a lot of uppsala and the studies there.
Review 11:no negative experience
Review 12:Great location in the very center of Uppsala. Friendly staff (which is typical for Sweden:)). Very clean. Everything is perfect for a hostel but... it is just a hostel, so please don't try to find there any extra comfort
Review 13:There were no bedsheets and no towel. The hostel charges extra for bedsheets and towel (which I didn't know), so when I arrived at around 11 p.m. there were no bedsheets and no one at the reception to ask for them.
Review 14:The hostel is well-located, in a nice-looking house, the size of the room was decent
Review 15:Přijeli jsme po 14. hodině, nemohli jsme se dovolat pro kód ode dveří (jen ve švédštině), tak jsme jeli pro kód do "hlavního" hostelu u nádraží, kde jsou na recepci 24 hod.
Review 16:V centru, dobře vybavená kuchyň v podkroví, čaj a káva k dispozici celý den, starý dům s atmosférou.
Review 17:Should have more clear instructions about self check-in process. The beautiful big kitchen was often occupied, since it is one for the whole floor.
Review 18:Fantastic attic room with a window to the roof, childhood memories included. Big, beautiful, homely kitchen dining room. Almost personal bathroom.
Review 19:I would have liked a little more contact with the staff, the office hours were odd.
Review 20:I stayed in the hostel part. It as very comfortable. It has a cozy and warm feel and offers everything you could need for a short stay.
Review 21:Had to pick up the key in another hotel, i only received the warning beforehand that the reception would be closed but not where i would have to pick up the key. I think that the fact that the reception is never open during the check-in should be strongly retaken into consideration The room was next to the entrance so i heard everybody coming, leaving and entering the shower
Review 22:Positive surprises: breakfast in another hotel and strong wifi, nicely designed
Review 23:The pillows and comforter looked a bit too yellow for my liking
Review 24:Looked cozy, good for a night!
Review 25:We should pay during our accomodation, but the hostel took a payment themself from our card before our arrival.
Review 26:breakfast is poor
Review 27:A great value, but it was very inconvenient that the staff is gone after 12:00. I had to walk to a different hotel to get my key
Review 28:safe and calm
Review 29:kind staff. 5 minute from city center. secure place
Review 30:Very small window.
Review 31:Small but perfect Place to stay beween the railwaystation and the old city.
Review 32:car park expensive, noisy people in other rooms, no pans to cook with
Review 33:central location, warm cosy room
Review 34:Pay extra for bed sheets
Review 35:Self check-in at any time
Review 36:Bathroom was too small.
Review 37:Good breakfast. Kitchen is well equiped.
Review 38:a very warm feeling:)
Review 39:No
Review 40:Actually it's very close to the trainsstation, but a bit hard to find since it's like a house in a neighborhood. The hotel is as cute as the photoson booking.com, and clean, blankets are so comfy love the interiors...just very Cuteee, bathroom is spacious, we stay for shared bathroom and it's ok! Will stay here again if I have the chance to go there
Review 41:We found that there are two Vandrarhem properties, the central station one that is just across the street and down half a block from the train station, and one in a quieter location, on Kungsangstorg Street, which is where we stayed. Very lovely place, very clean and quiet. It is three blocks further from the train station, but closer to the river and Stadgarden. The staff at both places were very friendly and helpful, and we were invited to partake of the larger breakfast buffet at the Central station property, which we really enjoyed. I would highly recommend either place to folks looking for something a step above the usual youth hostel, but don't want to pay higher hotel rates.
Review 42:The hostel was beautiful, more like a b&b. It was comfy clean and well decorated, had a great kitchen, and our room even had its own bathroom. Lovely place and very organised!
Review 43:Small bathrooms. not so clean. very squeeky floors. you could hear people in other rooms talking. A few of the top rooms only had a tiny sky window wich made the room very hot and dark. and the top rooms are very very small.
Review 44:Nice and clean kitchen. nice staff. cozy interior. nice duvets.
Review 45:Staff wasnt around when you needed help. prices are way to high fot the lack of service and the rooms. drafty room with a tiny window.
Review 46:Nice quilts. cozy athmosphere.
Review 47:Noise with works on the street from 6:45 AM !
Review 48:The old house, the staff very receptive, the great arrangement for breakfast, the clean room, very comfortable, despite the smallness
Review 49:Perfect location, lovely building and rooms, wifi in the rooms and easy to use, great arrangement for breakfast (serve yourself or walk down the street for more service). Very happy with the whole experience.
Review 50:there is only one shower on each floor
Review 51:it's an easy-going and friendly place with a nice kitchen and everything you need to feel at home. Price is correct and location is fine.
Review 52:Lack of parking places, noise from the floor above, small room, lack of breakfast, hard to find the location
Review 53:Beautiful building, near city, peacefully situated, no street noise
Review 54:-room smelled of smoke (not from cigarettes, rather from burned wood), but it was okay with window open and I didn't bother with mentioning it to the staff
Review 55:-uncomplicated check-in, stay, and check-out
Review 56:It was hard to find the hostel. one name plate at the side of the building. if you don't know what it's the same place, you'll be walking in circles(((
Review 57:It's nice place, comfortable and clean. Like at home=) sweet and friendly=) The kitchen is extremely easy. You find cozy atmosphere in everything =) Enjoy=)
Review 58:no parking unless you either feed a machine all day or find the free parking which is hidden a few hundred meters away
Review 59:good location nice old building
Review 60:- Some times the staff doesn`t fill up the fridge with food during brekfast and we were run out of milk or something else, but it can be treated by going to the brekfast in main hostel
Review 61:- Design- comfort - reasonable price
Review 62:Ice cold water in the shower in the morning. The receptionist said itwas a planned outage - yet I wasn't informed when booking...
Review 63:Good central location, even though I had some problems finding it.
Review 64:The internet connection was appalling! It was very unstable, and relatively slow. I had a similarly poor experience when staying at Vandrarhem Uppsala Centralstation
Review 65:Price, Staff, Cleanliness
Review 66:No laundry facilities or lounge area to relax. However, went to thesister hotel laundry facilities for free - the staff were veryaccommodating.
Review 67:Easy, efficient and cost effective
Review 68:The bed was really comfortable. The location was excellent - within 4 blocks of the train station and in a nice neighborhood. The hostel was setback from the road so it was very quiet. There was a shared kitchen stocked with coffee and for a small fee, breakfast foods. Overall, I had a very pleasant and comfortable stay.
Review 69:internet broke down several times for several hours, public restrooms with bad noise isolation, no real desk in (single) room, price even for swedish conditions quite expensive, no possibilty to open the windows
Review 70:location was perfect! room was clean, alright for a short stay
Review 71:I stayed there just one day so maybe I was unlucky, anyway I found someone of the staff at the reception only when I checked out in the morning. When I arrived they left me instructions written on paper about how to get to my room, but if I had any problem I didn't know who ask to
Review 72:Nice building, good location. It seems a big doll house.
Review 73:While clean, the hotel smells odd, perhaps because the building is old. The rooms are tiny with no place for storing stuff (though the bed+table+couch beats the bunk bed+safe in other hostels). On top of that, it is now under construction so there is material and noise everywhere throughout the day (I think that most of the people I saw there were construction workers). The bathroom/shower I used (shared) is very small and inconvenient, and, it was full with someone else's hair. There is no full-body mirror nowhere. So if you have an important meeting and you need to look sharp, this is not the place for you.
Review 74:For a budget hotel, the rooms are nicely furnished and self contained. The kitchen is very clean and cozy. The self-catered breakfast that they sell (you prepare it from ingredients they store in a separate fridge) is really convenient. I arrived very late and even though the reception was closed they kept the room and left me a welcome note with instructions that were easy to follow. I appreciated this kind of service.
Review 75:The reception isn't permanently staffed; there wasn't anyone there to greet us upon arrival and answer our questions.
Review 76:The room was pretty and everything was clean, even the shared bathroom. Reasonably comfortable; what I was expecting for the price really!
Review 77:I had a most pleasant experience at Vandrahem Uppsala Kungsängstorg !
Review 78:I enjoyed the clean and pleasant atmosphere, the courtesy of the staff and the respect given to the privacy of the visitors.
Review 79:The outside temperatur was -18 degrees C and the little radiator in my room did not warm it up. There was a plaid in the room and I was thankful for that.
Review 80:Very comfortable bed, nice kitchen, good breakfast.
Review 81:Additional payment for linen.
Review 82:There is big kitchen, so it is possible to cook in the hotel and to have tea or coffe at any time. Very good heater in the room, that is important in Sweden :).
Review 83:I had three main reasons for staying at Vandrarhem Uppsala Kungsängtorg:price, location and kitchen facilities. The place is very quiet andprovides a good nights rest. I also appreciate having a window to openso as to get fresh air into your romm. This is not always the case in aplace in this price range.
Review 84:I've stayed at a few hostels, but this one is perfect. Not only is itwell-decorated and comfortable, it is centrally located and veryaffordable. It made our trip to Uppsala so easy. I will highly recommendit to anyone.

Review 93:Reception had very limited opening hours. Had to wait to check in.
Review 94:Very clean and pleasant place to stay. Decent breakfast on offer.
Review 95:Very very poor insulation, I was cold most of the night.
Review 96:Slow internet. Limited furniture in room (i.e. no table/desk).
Review 97:Central location. Access to kitchen.
Review 98:we had to pay the laundry and the breakfast extra. In the end, it was more expensive than a real hotel.
Review 99:Nice House
Review 100:Very good hostel in a centre of Uppsala. Nice play to stay for single persons.
Review 101:It is fine! Price and location are the best. Dogs are welcome, that's fine!

Review 106:Everything was perfect, very quiet and super relax
Review 107:could be bit noisy
Review 108:the rooms location the kitchenroom, you could make your own breakfast
Review 109:Good value for money if you have your own sheets.
Review 110:very nice, charming hostel
Review 111:Breakfast was a little too simple, would have preferred more variety, including fruits.
Review 112:Good location, 24/7 check-in, good washroom facilities.
Review 113:The room was dark, only a small window in the ceiling.
Review 114:It,s a great place to stay in uppsala, I would recommend it for anyvisitor to Sweden.
