Reviews for Skyway Inn - Seatac
Review 1:The site clearly states no deposit required. . they wanted to charge deposit and I did not have the funds to do a deposit and almost had to sleep outside in the cold and rain it was only after some prayer did they allow me to pay $26 in deposit which was my final few dollars which means I went to bed hungry.
Review 2:Nothing really
Review 3:I ASKED FOR A SMOKING ROOM AND THEY STILL BOOKED ME IN NON SMOKING ROOM THERE WAS BROKEN TILEION THE FLOOR WHERE I HAD CUT MY TOE FROM SCRAPPING IT YOU CAN TELL NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO FIX THT TILE AT ALL
Review 4:HEATER ACTUALLY WORKED
Review 5:When I woke up I realized that in the day light the room was not as clean as I would have liked. There were spots on the sheets... There was no soap.
Review 6:The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.
Review 7:The building should be torn down and rebuilt. Old and run down, room phone not working....carpet, furniture, TV old and in need of an overhaul.
Review 8:Near to airport. Very good shuttle service. Staff helpful.
Review 9:Room was clean, but the property was shabby and run down. The staff was not professional. The atomosphere was a little iffy. Not sure what might not happen here.
Review 10:Convenient to airport. Cheap
Review 11:Where to begin? On arrival we checked in and asked about breakfast only to be told they don't serve breakfast because they're 'under renovation'. The room we booked specifically included breakfast and we chose that motel over others because of that option. There was no apology or suggestion as to what may be offered otherwise, and there was nothing we could see that suggested that the place was being renovated. Next, the room we checked into was a dump. We booked a queen room - which it wasn't - and it had no natural light whatsoever, it was dim, grimy and manky. I inquired as to the state of the room upon which the girl "upgraded" us to a king size. She certainly has a different opinion of the definition of upgrade than I do! It was a touch bigger and marginally better, but by no means an 'upgrade'! There was no microwave (again, included in the room descriptions) and the TV has a dreadful choice of only 10 channels. The hotel advertises as offering HBO which it in fact doesn't have. There are no tea/coffee facilities in the room either - pretty much standard in this day and age (and I would have thought necessary given the removal of the breakfast option with no prior warning). The room was ridiculously humid at all times - we had to leave the window wide open to prevent it from being so stuffy. Not ideal in the middle of November. The area doesn't feel safe at all. We stayed out by the airport because of the lower cost as commuting into the city wasn't an issue because we had a car, but I wish we'd stayed in the centre. Avoid this place at all costs - it's disgusting.
Review 12:Nothing.
Review 13:My wife would have been put off by condition and clienele but it was fine for me as a place to sleep. Not exactly peaceful but quiet enough to sleep once the traffic died down on Pac.Hwy.
Review 14:Location and price.
Review 15:The room on the 3rd floor we stayed on was at the corner of the main road, can't sleep well because of the noise of the passing vehicles.
Review 16:Helpful & kind hotel staff.
Review 17:It was a little out dated. But every time I have stayed there, they are always improving the place.
Review 18:The staff are the best people I've had the pleasure of coming across. And the location?! Perfect!!
Review 19:I was unhappy that the TV was so old, don't have a problem with it being old, but it was very faulty. Different channels came in different color. one channel everyone was green, next channel blue, or red or purple. One HBO channel had no volume and what was far worse when I mentioned it to the young lady working at the desk, she laughed like it was just hilarious, and walked away.Meaning to say nothing was going to be done about this, and how many others would also be stuck with this rattty old TV. There were plenty of vacancies while I was there, wouldn't have been a huge problem. but they chose to ignore it. I used to stay here frequently the price is appopriate, but the clientele has gotten quite seedy with numerous young people wearing black hoodies pulled up. Be careful, these types aren't the playful, fun, vacationers.
Review 20:Decent price and you can make your own waffle, if that's appealing.
Review 21:Lights didn't work when I entered the room. You have to walk to the back of the building for certain rooms and it's a bit creepy. Vending machines didn't work. Furniture was very outdated and bed uncomfortable.
Review 22:Close proximity to airport.
Review 23:The first room we were given was dark and small with a table lamp almost in pieces. We complained and were given a decent room
Review 24:The people were competent and helpful.
Review 25:Where do I begin? From the hotel pick up, which was confusing at the least with two staff very rude and unhelpful to the terrible condition of the room, this was an unpleasant stay. There were cigarette burns on the blankets and on the television set. There were red smears on the sheets. Like a scene out of Francis Coppola's "The Conversation", when water was turned on in the bath sink unmentionable "stuff" flowed backwards Into the bowl, debris so disgusting that I had you avert my eyes. I should have taken a cue from the two female travelers who were exiting the shuttle when I was getting on that patted me on the shoulder and said, "Good luck!"
Review 26:There is nothing to like about his hotel… What a dump!!! By the way, I personally would rate this hotel as a "1".
Review 27:The place was very, very unclean. Sheets, bed spread and carpeting very stained. Left luggage in room, as housekeeping was thru with their job, to get something at the store and came back to find them in my room stating they were fixing a light. It was not fixed. Will not recommend!
Review 28:Not really anything. I guess I could say they had someone to drive me to air terminal.
Review 29:Staff not even friendly,,rooms not clean,,loud construction I realize they can't help that,,had to fight for my cash deposit they conviently lost. I'd stay in the street before going back there!
Review 30:I could hear the traffic all night long - as if the window was open, which it wasn't. No elevator and I was on the third floor, which isn't a big deal if you don't have a lot of luggage. I did. Felt a little bit sketchy over all.
Review 31:The 24 hour shuttle was good - got me where I needed to be on time.
Review 32:I did not expected too much for this price but it was really old and need cleaning desperately (matress, carpet) + good ventilation with open window
Review 33:Localisation
Review 34:Room in disrepair. Poor security. TV, mini-fridge barely operational. Rear building difficult and dangerous to reach pushing 100 pounds of luggage across a steeply sloped parking lot on the one and only baggage cart. Creepy handwritten message taped to wall of elevator by someone obviously deranged.
Review 35:Short commute to airport. Shuttle readily available. Friendly if not particularly helpful guy at the front desk.
Review 36:Convenient to airport, free shuttle, waffles and coffee in am. It is not fancy, but it was clean, dry, secure, and inexpensive. The motel has a small carbon foot print.
Review 37:The people in the room upstairs were very noisy at 4:30 in the morning. The people next door were noisy at 1:30 a.m. There should be a sign in each room asking people to be respectful of others sleeping.
Review 38:Friendly staff
Review 39:We asked for a 3:15 wake up call. There was no alarm clock in the room and we never received a wake up call. If we had not set our phone alarm we would have missed our plane and cruise ship.
Review 40:Free schuttle to airport
Review 41:The room was gross. It smelled, the carpet was stained and dirty, the linens were questionable, and the room was overall just not nice. It was overpriced for the quality of room.
Review 42:They had a room available
Review 43:We could not manage to control the room temperature properly in this older hotel. It was either way too cold or too hot. But, for one night, it was OK.
Review 44:The 24/7 airport shuttle makes this older hotel a good choice. Breakfast choices were limited to muffins and waffles, but it was ready before the stated 6:30 am start time, which we appreciated.
Review 45:Old, cheap beds, and dirty carpet. Blech.
Review 46:The proximity to the airport is great. Although it's older and the carpet needs replacing badly, the room was fine, especially for the price!
Review 47:The room was nothing like portrayed online. It was filthy with pubic hair all over the bathroom floor and in the tub and the doorjam was falling apart so there was a good gap between it and the door. And we were told that if we wanted it clean, we had to do it ourselves because the cleaning lady was gone for the day.
Review 48:It had four walls? That is about it.
Review 49:The room was rundown. Carpet stained and in need of replacing. Bathroom floor tiles were broken and taped down with duct tape. The bathroom faucet wasn't clean at all. Shower caulking was not applied well and was moldy. The mattress was tired and I've been living with the fear of bedbugs ever since. Breakfast food choices were minimal - no fresh fruit.
Review 50:Price and location to airport.
Review 51:I wish they had coffee pots in the rooms, and the room could use a coat of fresh paint.
Review 52:I noticed that the room was very clean. Very comfortable bed and pillows too!
Review 53:The price was high considering the poor quality of the room. However, it was a fine place to sleep for a few hours on a layover.
Review 54:Good location (close to the airport). Shuttle arrived quickly.
Review 55:Would have liked to have coffee pot in room
Review 56:We booked as our last night in Seattle. Needed to be near airport for early flight. Staff very friendly. Hotel could use an update. Meet our needs.
Review 57:Arrived at 2 in morning. Area around motel was dark and creepy. Was toldto walk clear around bldg alone in dark. Then no eleavator, drug allluggage up three flights of stairs outside, down long hallway to room incorner. Dark entrance, did not feel safe, did not enter room, went backto front desk. Encountered two strange people walking in lot on wayback, felt very unsafe, and went back to airport. Was charged for theroom and didn't even open the door. Very dissatisfied with thismotel. Would never go there again. And since they chose to charge me thefull price I will tell everyone I know about my experience.
Review 58:This hotel bore no resemblance to the representation on Booking.com's website. It is rundown and grubby. We were only staying one night prior to catching a flight and had little choice but to stay, otherwise we would have relocated. I think Booking.com (which we've used several times satisfactorily) should remove this hotel from its listings. In future we'll stick to the chains. Our stay in this hotel was the only bad experience of our holiday
Review 59:the room was falling apart!!! no towel rack in the bathroom - I could go on and on. everytime you moved in the bed the headboard banged against the wall. I watched the slide show and thought I must have stayed at a different place because my room looked nothing like what they showed!
Review 60:Wifi was free but the signal wasn't strong enough to reach the rooms. Our baby's feet and knees were filthy after 15 minutes crawling on the carpet.
Review 61:Huge room, spacious. Very close to the airport.
Review 62:I wasn't crazy about having a jacuzzi type tub instead of a shower.
Review 63:I loved the people who worked there from the man who first drove the shuttle from the airport to the check-in folks to the people who made the room and the breakfast area work well and the help they gave me in using the computer to navigate my travel in the area. So nice and friendly and knowledgeable about travel in the area. thanks!
Review 64:Staff was very Reluctant to change rooms for us when attention was drawn to water in the outside hallway. even though we rented two rooms Also, bad Odor in room. No workout room on premise.
Review 65:comfortable bed
Review 66:The room had a unpleasant smell. Breakfast on the second day was virtually nonexistent. There was no waffle mix, orange juice or coffee.
Review 67:The price was ok
Review 68:We heard people walking on the floor above us. All 3 of us woke up with sore backs the next morning. The beds were the culprit.
Review 69:The room and bath were clean. Nice tile in the bath. Desk clerk was pleasant.
Review 70:Breakfast was in a very small room with to many People and no place to sit. no fresh fruit, the bedding blankets where thin old and dirty.the shower smelled and the remote for the tv was not working. No room to park your car. Location very noisy.
Review 71:friendly staff
Review 72:No iron Breakfast is like in any other cheap motel, i.e. not good.
Review 73:Really nice staff Room is clean and not gloomy Big and confortable bed Close to the airport
Review 74:TV remote didn't work. Bed is... Not awesome? Pretty gundgy and dirty feeling floors. One light bulb burnt out on arrival.
Review 75:Shuttle was efficient both ways. Friendly front desk staff.
Review 76:Too long a walk to elevator from office. Had to go to a different building through a back parking lot. Made me nervous.
Review 77:Room was certainly adequate. Clean and comfortable. Refrigerator and microwave.
Review 78:The surrounding area and outside felt a little unsafe. Seemed to be a big of a gang hangout out the back
Review 79:The number if beds in 1 room which could accommodate our famy of 5. Shuttle service to airport
Review 80:Strong deodorant smell, changed rooms, No ventilation in room, Toilet Malfunctioning- No one to fix it. Twin bed, very cheap facility. Staff tried to be helpful.
Review 81:The neighborhood was sketchy; the police were there twice for different reasons within 1 hour of checking in. Checked out after one night and went to a different hotel for the remaining 3 nights of our trip.
Review 82:The shuttle guy was nice
Review 83:I arrived at 3:30am after a late flight. Although the front desk person told me he was upgrading me to a room with a jacuzzi (code for they oversold the property which wasn't an issue itself) I went the room and it wasn't clean. He kindly switched my room. About 20 minutes after getting into the room, which was around 3:45-4am, there was a knock on my door for room service. Very concerning since they don't have a restaurant to provide room service. Obviously I didn't open the door even though it sounded like the guy from the front desk. Needless to say I didn't sleep very well after the issues and didn't feel very safe after that.
Review 84:Staff was friendly and accommodating. No issues with getting the shuttle at 3:30am. Breakfast was adequate. Morning front desk agent called me to let me know my ID was left at front desk upon check in.
Review 85:The room didn't seem particularly clean, there was no pretence of ambiance, and the breakfast options were meagre. This is just basic accommodation between a flight and someplace you really want to be.
Review 86:The staff (a family?) were extremely friendly and helpful. The shuttle zipped me right over to the airport in nothing flat. They made no trouble about my late check-in (almost 11 pm).
Review 87:It could be cleaned better . I was a house cleaner in Alaska . If we left it not cleaned . We had to go back and cleaned the room. I found garbage behind the night stand. Mirror wasn't cleaned. I didn't feel comfortable with my grand kids there.
Review 88:Everything. Bad location (police were actually onsite arresting someone when we arrived). Noisy, old bedding with holes and stains, dirty floors, slow WIFI. Would not visit again.
Review 89:Nothing!
Review 90:My only complaint is that it's a little bit run down, but you get what you pay for.
Review 91:I stayed here for two nights and the room was kept clean the whole time. the hotel is only a 20 minute drive from down town Seattle. I'll probably stay there again next year.
Review 92:Bathroom not very clean. Mud on side of toilet, hair in shower. Holes in bedding on both beds. Parking lot and walkway a hot mess.
Review 93:Staff was very helpful and friendly. Even when I misplaced my credit card, the front desk girl was patient and pleasant. Check out smooth. Airport shuttle on time and pleasant.
Review 94:The pictures on the website look nothing like the hotel. It's advertised as a hotel but it's a run down motel. The motel is dirty and in disrepair located in a bad part of town.
Review 95:Close to the airport
Review 96:Lousy "breakfast" -- half of the purported offering wasunavailable, I. E., oj machine not working and waffle maker likewise.
Review 97:Way overpriced. Did not even have a shower -- just ridiculous huge tubwhich was completely useless and really unsafe anyway.
Review 98:The breakfast was very basic and the waffle iron and juice machine where broken and not available. Overall in need of modernisation, a bit tired and worn.
Review 99:Free wifi was good and the room was clean.
Review 100:We were promised free WiFi in all rooms, but when we arrived at the motel there was someone there working on fixing it? We went up to our room and the WiFi was spotty, at best, for the first two days. After those two days we had no WiFi what-so-ever, even though there were three connections available. This made our trip more difficult because of the lack of use of Google Maps and not having access to our bank accounts.
Review 101:I have never stayed in a motel before now, so I'm not sure if this is normal for most motel/hotels. However the room service was very consistent. We would leave in the morning and come back late afternoon or early evening to a recently and thoroughly cleaned room, with fresh towels and sheets.
Review 102:I would not call it a bad experience but we will not be back. Breakfast was minimal, no fruit, no eggs, etc. The bed was not a queen more like a double. The WiFi did not work.
Review 103:The bed sheets and blankets need to be renewed. There are cigarette holes in them.
Review 104:Reasonably priced. Great location. Good breakfast and transportation.
Review 105:Our room felt dirty and the sample bottles of lotion and body wash wasn't even from the hotel. The bedding was old and very worn, the sheets were clean but rough. They didn't have any amenities either.
Review 106:Being in a non-smoking room was a plus. The water was nice and warm. We really appreciated the complimentary airport drop off and when we tipped the driver he was in shock.
Review 107:The room stank, bed was uncomfortable, sheets dirty, big black ants crawled on me as I tried to sleep. Changed rooms. No ants but dirty bathroom, dirty sheets, room smelled bad, carpet was stained, horrible parking. We left after 2 hours. Couldn't take it anymore.
Review 108:The man who checked us in was being trained, but I like the way the girl was letting him figure out what to do until he had questions.
Review 109:The room was not clean....microwave sticky.....mattresses stained....one bed pad was for bedwetters....other bed was reasonably comfortable ....rug old and damp...stay was worth about $25 not $95.
Review 110:The place seemed a bit run down from the outside.
Review 111:The staff were very friendly and even gave us an upgrade to a room with an extra bed for the same price. Has shuttle service to and from airport.
Review 112:They had our booking.com reservation wrong. Instead of two queen beds in the room which we had booked, they were going to give us two rooms with one queen size bed in it. We told them we were on an anniversary night and going to the US Open and only needed one room. We chose one room in the back and told them they can just rent out the other room. The key card wouldn't work. They kept reloading the card and after 4 times and the person in the office came to try and it didn't work either. She said she would have someone look at it while we went for dinner. We came back and tried again with the new card and it still didn't work. The office worker asked the guy who had fixed it and said the room was already rented and the card didn't work because it was in sleep mode. Good thing they didn't give away the other room as no other rooms available. So not impressed with our experience. We didn't get what we booked with booking.com.
Review 113:Location was good and price reasonable for our overnight stay before going to the US open.
Review 114:Parking was terrible. The smell of disinfectant in my room was overpowering. Around 10:30pm, a whole family (4-5) checked in next door. Their kids we're loud and rude, and the adults we're louder, and stood right outside my door to talk on the phone, for an hour. Morning was the same, but shorter. Walls are paper thin. Not enough outlets to plug in the lamps/microwave/etc that we're provided.
Review 115:The desk clerk was nice, and very pretty.
Review 116:No coffee pot, wifi did not work and TV remote did not match the tv so we could not watch tv. These are easily fixed and with those items corrected this could be a good stay. I would not recommend raising the rates they are as high as this hotel warrants, possibly lower
Review 117:Friendliness, prompt shuttle service (better than any hotel I've stayed at), Shampoo available , clean room
Review 118:They tried to pass off a smoking room as a non smoking room. It had been cleaned but all you could smell was smoke smells they attemped to cover up with strong cleaning solution. We walked in and walked out. Very small crowded parking area
Review 119:It was sooooooo bad that we didn't stay. The front clerk returned our $$ with no questions asked when I explained why we weren't staying.
Review 120:Lobby was on the flat, all the rooms were on a hill. Had just had knee surgery and had a stranger help me with my luggage. No help from the check in person. Van did not run on schedule Small breakfast area, had to wait to sit to eat, only 3 tables
Review 121:Had a shuttle
Review 122:The room was pretty awful, it smelled like cigarette smoke, the blankets had cigarette stains and holes burnt in them, and there was hair in the sink.
Review 123:Everyone we talked to and met were very lovely, responsive, and authentic.
Review 124:Scarce parking due to facility used as airport parking. Diety catpets, sink cracked and fell away from counter.
Review 125:Close to airport. 24 hour shuttle to airport.
Review 126:No bad experience just wasn't expecting the cramped ness
Review 127:Loads of cars in the lot, because it is only $5.99 to long term park. Felt more like a travel lodge
Review 128:The hotel was very run down. Had a room on the first floor on an inside corner. It was dark with no light outside the room. Sheets, blankets, and bedspread had holes! Furniture was damaged and left over from the 1950s!
Review 129:The curtains wouldn't close there was a free breakfast but no where to sit. The tub wouldn't drain. If you just need a bed. The sheets were clean. Would not stay there again
Review 130:There was no room to park when I checked in. I had to back out into the street because I was blocked in. I was fortunate to get the last space in the entire parking lot for the night. When I went out to dinner, I worried that the place would be gone when I got back. It was still there which amazed me when I got back.
Review 131:It was quiet.
Review 132:The exterior is in need of repair tiled walkways that are uneven and tiled they are very slick in the rain. The stairways are poorly lit. In our room the television didn't work. There was mold and mildew in the shower.
Review 133:The afternoon front desk clerk was very helpful. The shuttle driver was also very good. The room was reasonably clean. With the exception of the shower.
Review 134:Everything most of all the lady at the front in the morning may be the owner was very rude and appeared to consider her guests a nuisance. Breakfast was a damn disgrace
Review 135:The night clerk was polite, but he took a long time to check us in.
Review 136:The location seems to be in a less than safe part of town. There were people loitering in the parking lot that seemed to be up to no good. We enjoyed our stay and it is great for a place to sleep if you don't want to pay an arm and a leg and still be within driving distance of area attractions.
Review 137:The check-in and check-out process is really easy and staff is really friendly. The room was clean, and the beds were more comfortable than a recent hotel we stayed at costing 3x the amount. We felt safe within our room.
Review 138:Road noise. My room was very old (with some renovation) and was right on major thoroughfare. Derelict, but functional, air conditioner muffled the noise. Also dirty carpet and stale cigarette smell.
Review 139:Inexpensive & close to airport. Bedding & bathroom very clean. 24-hour free shuttle.
