Reviews for Red Pole Ranch
Review 1:Beautiful location. Our cabin had a fully stocked kitchen with full size coffee maker and complimentary coffee. Our cabin also had a fabulous view of the surrounding mountains. Patty Jo was a great host our room was cleaned everyday and restocked with fresh coffee. I would definitely recommend the Red Pole Ranch to anyone. It is 2p minutes into town for supplies and about 40 minutes to Yellow Stone
Review 2:We wanted to stay longer and could not due to our schedule
Review 3:The location at the base of a mountain was beautiful, the proprietors were friendly, the room was nicely appointed and immaculate
Review 4:The room is very small. The location is kind of nice, but not if you are hungry --- you would have to drive at least 15 minutes to find any foods or drinks. The worst of it is the owner (or manager?) of this property, who is extremely rude. He has no any respect for guests, acting as if he was providing free accommodation to refugees. I will never stay at this place again!
Review 5:We liked everything about it. The views, spacious, clean, microwave, refrigerator, ability to park next to cabin, friendly, helpful, informative staff.
Review 6:Loved everything!!! View was breathtaking, Patty Jo the owner was a sweetheart, and Cody is beautiful. We saw lots of wildlife and this portion of our "western adventure" was our favorite. -Michelle Dean
Review 7:Beautiful and historic location. Convenient for Cody and reasonably convenient for Yellowstone Park. Extremely clean. Lovely finishing touches to the furnishings and decor, such as quilt, cuddly toys, tapestry and pictures. Care and consideration in providing complementary coffee and a few snacks.
Review 8:Patty Jo and Don were great hosts. The cabin was well-equipped and had some imaginative touches like sheets that look like red bandanas. The view was terrific and the location was quiet and peaceful.
Review 9:reserved a room , got a confirmation from booking .com but when I got to red pole ranch there was a problem with my card that still had 23,000 available bad job booking.com it wasn't bad for me I got a better room.
Review 10:This is an amazing place located just next to the state park. The view is amazing and a lot of animals around. Just a little bit far away from Yellowstone park but the views on the way worth the extra 40 mins driving! I strongly recommend this place! The host prepared very interesting book in each room and cute animals toys!
Review 11:Not so much a bad experience, just wish they had "Do Not Disturb" signs, because i do not like anyone in my room. I also did not like the check out process, i felt like i didn't get any paperwork to take with me.
Review 12:The facility was perfectly located for the traveling we were doing. Close to Cody, and fairly close to Yellowstone. Very clean and quiet!
Review 13:Nothing!
Review 14:This is a beatiful and relaxing place. Fully furnished cabin. I haverecommended it to all of my friends and colleagues. Boss lady, Patty, isthe best hostess of my 8,000 mile road trip.
Review 15:i have no complaints or ideas that can make this place any better
Review 16:Most impressed with the location both convenience wise and beauty wise. If i could give this location a 20 rating I would. The cabin was very charming and had all the comforts of home. Owners took very good care to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. With a family of 4 the last one to shower usually always has a cold shower but Red Pole Ranch had hot water as soon as you turned on the faucet and continued through the last shower. Wonderful location for morning and evening walks. Bring you bug spray for the evenings. Wish we could have joined the group for a bonfire but our days were packed. Peaceful, comfortable, heaven on earth. Will be back for sure in the future.
Review 17:It takes around two hours to get to the main sights in Yellowstone, but it is a beautiful drive.
Review 18:Beautiful views, well-kept grassy central area where kids can play, small scale, very friendly owners. Also liked the proximity to Cody (rodeo, rafting, Buffalo Bill Center of the West).
Review 19:We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay. We loved the special details that made our stay special. You cannot beat the location and the beautiful scenery. We definitely will stay here again if we are close by.
Review 20:No breakfast - even to have some instant oatmeal or other package items just to get the day going would be great
Review 21:Location - beds - fridge - microwave - and the owner was super friendly !
Review 22:The room was a bit cramped for four of us.
Review 23:Cute cabin with a nice bathroom. Homey touches such as Dixie cups and memory foam bath mats. Huge flat screen and Direct TV.
Review 24:Very quirky, unique decorations and good kitchen facilities. Wonderful to sit on the patio looking at the views, drinking a cool beer and watching the sunset. Perfect.
Review 25:The red Pole is managed by Patty Jo and Don. Spectacular People, Views and all around comfort. Clean, Modern cabin, The Bed was just amazingly comfortable and the Views? Just amazing! in the evening a Campfire and great Stories from the owners Don and Patty Jo. We are surely going back for an extended stay at Red Pole, with Yellowstone and Cody just a short car ride away.
Review 26:We were vacationing with our two grand daughters and we loved the location. It was beautiful, quiet, and the rooms were spotless. We would definitely come back.
Review 27:Beautiful view of mountains from cabin. The drive from the East Yellowstone entrance to Red Pole Ranch is magnificent! This has a "getting away from it all" feel yet is convenient to sightseeing activities and a short drive of about 10-15 mintues from Cody.
Review 28:the second night they let in very noisy and agressive people in the other side of our house. They said that we were allowed to chose another lodge and could annulate our other two nights for free. But afterwards they didn't want to refund the 343 dollars!!
Review 29:nothing
Review 30:We had a great cabin unit with a kitchenette which gave us the flexibility to eat at "home" once in a while. We had great mountain views. Deer and pronghorn came by our cabin nightly. Patty Jo was wonderful, friendly and made sure we had all we needed. Great Spot!
Review 31:Having to leave. I could have stayed forever.
Review 32:Everything was first rate. From the friendly greeting, to the spectacular view when I stepped out the front door of my cabin, to the charm of the rustic cabin, just perfect for the setting and a Western vacation.
Review 33:Before our stay I called the ranch several times to find out about nearby dining options. I left messages and never heard back. Also, unfortunately, I accidentally left some personal items in the room after we left, and called to ask if they could be mailed to me. I never heard back and am assuming these items are lost forever. Disappointing.
Review 34:The ranch had an awesome location that was really fun for us to stay at. The cabins are very unique, clean and a much better alternative to your standard hotel room.
Review 35:Too bad we had to leave so soon. The time we spent at the cabin versus sightseeing was very peaceful.
Review 36:The cabin layout was efficient but spacious, comfortable, and the views were great. The time we spent at the cabin versus sightseeing was very peaceful. The wildlife passing by the cabin was amazing (deer, moose, long-tailed weasel).
Review 37:The whole experience was great! The Cabins are comfy and located in a prime location with great views of the mountains! Patty Jo is a great host and I highly recommend!
Review 38:the scenery was amazing the cottage We stayed In was great very comfortable and Patti Jo the owner was very nice and helpful with info for our trip I would definitely book there again. Can't wait to book another trip down the road.
Review 39:Great location, quiet, comfy bed, really warm and helpful hosts - everything you could wish for, basically. If we're ever in Yellowstone again, the Red Pole Ranch is our place!
Review 40:We liked everything.
Review 41:The cabin was very clean. There were an endless number of satellite TV channels. The WIFI worked excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 42:Not enough lighting in the room.
Review 43:Our cabin #7 had a great view across the valley. Quiet spot. Near Yellowstone National Park. PattyJo was very cheerful.
Review 44:Only wish it was a little closer to Yellowstone although the drive is beautiful.
Review 45:Our room at Red Pole Ranch was an authentic western experience (at least to a couple of life long urban Easterners.) A beautifully designed cabin with real wood,a large comfy bed and spacious room with functional kitchen. Surrounded by mountains,a vast State park and a huge nearby reseviour.. A very fun and different experience. .
Review 46:The owner was unfriendly, i arrived at 10pm, she was very angry. The room was not easy to find cuz there was no light to light up the room number in the evening. I had no idea but to turn on my flash light of my phone to find my room. But this action made the owner angrier.
Review 47:The hotel facilities count good in the mid of nowhere.
Review 48:The location was outstanding. Having tea on the deck we listened to the river and enjoyed the peaceful twilight and sunset on the surrounding landscape.
Review 49:Spent the night at Red Pole on our way to Yellowstone. Loved the location, cleanliness, and the facilities. Had we known what a gem this place was, we would have scheduled a longer stay. We will be sure to stay longer on our next trip, thank you for an excellent stay!
Review 50:Nothing.
Review 51:The accommodation at the Red Pole Ranch is chalet/lodges which are furnished to a high standard with comfy beds, thick carpet and well appointed bathroom. There was a fridge, microwave & toaster in the room so we were able to make breakfast before spending a day in Yellowstone. The cabin also had heating in the main room & bathroom which was a bonus on the chilly mornings. Wifi was good as well.
Review 52:We really only have a couple of suggestions for improvement. The main one is that, in our view, Cabin 5 could use new mattresses. We're not heavy people, but we found that the beds sagged toward the middle. We also missed having an ice maker on the premises. Patty Jo helpfully directed us to buy ice at a neighboring hotel, but that was four miles west.
Review 53:Friendly and helpful Patty Jo! Beautiful and quiet setting. Magpies in the yard. Reasonably sized cabins with tree trunk rafters. Easy check-in. Appreciated having a fridge, microwave, and toaster. Nice hot shower, too.
Review 54:It was a great place to stay. Location, Views, Cleanliness of room, everything was there that you could want on your vacation. I would like to stay there again.
Review 55:Cody was nearby, but it's much better sleeping in the country away from town. I liked being able to get online when I needed, and being disconnected most of the time. Beds were excellent and shower was huge. For the area and all we got, the price was more than fair.
Review 56:Bed had a double mattress which we didn't care for. Made the bed pretty and was a little soft for us. But that's personal preference!
Review 57:Location - a few miles out of Cody, but there was a good restaurant nearby. Beautiful views. Room was well equipped and you could park just a few feet from the front door.
Review 58:Greatest manager ever! Before we left her office, we knew where to get a wonderful dinner (say hello to Janet for us), a good spot for breakfast and had arranged for a two hour horse back ride up into the Shoshone forest the following morning! Service like that is hard to come by. The cabins were large and welcoming. The view in the morning included pronghorn antelope and white pelicans. Great stay!
Review 59:The mosquitos were a problem, but buy repellant and all will be fine
Review 60:The rooms were spacious and clean and the owner was lovely. Very friendly and helpful
Review 61:-Musquitoes (windows can't close) -No table for breakfast
Review 62:-Fantastic location nearby NP and only 12 miles from Cody -Cosy decorated rooms -Friendly staff
Review 63:It's a bit from town if that is a factor for you. Lost hot water after the first shower on the first night and later found out it wasn't working. Owners attempted to accommodate but timing was tough.
Review 64:Great views. Beautiful cabin well appointed.
Review 65:We had 4 adults and the room was small. Next time we stay we will get a bigger cabin.
Review 66:The owner's were extremely helpful and were willing to answer questions and provide information. The location was excellent and the area is beautiful. We will definitely stay at the Red Pole again
Review 67:Nothing we didn't like, we didn't try the Wi-Fi because we wereenjoying everything that nature had to offer :)
Review 68:Patty Jo, thank you for such great hospitality! We called to let PattyJo know that we were on the road and would be arriving quite late. Ididn't want her to think that we were no-showing our reservation andarrive at 2am with nowhere to stay. Patty Jo left our room ready for us,with a light on and a kind note welcoming us and letting us know that wecould sleep in and take care of our checking in later in the morning. What a nice welcome after a long day and night on the road, weappreciated your thoughtfulness. Then in the morning, I walkedoutside...wow! I'll start my morning out with that view any day! Therooms were very clean and even though we didn't spend much of ourtime in our room, we enjoyed relaxing outside of our cabin taking in thesurroundings. I definitely recommend the Red Pole Ranch-comfortableroom, friendly owner, great views and location!
Review 69:Although the beds were high and comfortable, the room was a bit crowded and there was an excess of decorative pillows on the 2 double beds. This greatly limited the space for 4 adults (2 parents and our 20+ year old children) and our luggage.
Review 70:Red Pole Ranch was in a beautiful setting far enough from town to have a secluded feel but close enough to have easy access to restaurants and activities. The staff was pleasant and helpful. And the room was beautiful, clean and homey.
Review 71:We were sorry that we didn't book the Red Pole Ranch for a longer stay.
Review 72:Beautiful area. Comfortable and cozy cabin. Quiet and relaxing. Beds were great! Very clean.
Review 73:The room was great but a little too perfumed for us (as we are sensitive).
Review 74:Great room, owner very pleasant, location: the closeby shoeshone national forest is absolutely amazing for hiking, and Cody is a beautiful little city with lots a nice shops (boots, native american jewellery,...), and restaurants.
Review 75:There were no negatives. We encountered no ill surprises or problems throughout our stay.
Review 76:Our stay was great. The setting is beautiful and quiet, and nicely situated between Cody and Yellowstone's East Gate. The owners, who live on the ranch, are fantastic hosts, as well as interesting, enjoyable people. We had a memorable 5-night stay.
Review 77:It was all good.
Review 78:Very comfortable and quiet. Very well stocked with fridge, toaster, coffee maker and microwave. Close enough to Cody but away from all the noise and business mess.
Review 79:Running toilet., couple of lights need to be fixed, bed just OK.
Review 80:Location and view.
Review 81:The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. She went an extra mile to help us. I highly recommend this place.
Review 82:Excellent scenery, very friendly owners, beds were comfortable, and there was no traffic noise due to location.
Review 83:Really inconvenient and small place. Location in far from ideal.
Review 84:Weather
Review 85:Lovely room in beautiful surroundings. Owner was welcoming despite our late arrival. Great place to stay for access to Yellowstone.
Review 86:The whole experience was outstanding. I would not change anything.
Review 87:Friendly hosts!! Helpful with organizing a trail ride.
Review 88:Would be great if they serve breakfast
Review 89:Everything is awesome :) so comfy it's like home
Review 90:Cabin not refreshed each day.
Review 91:The solitude of the location.
Review 92:Setting,Views, campfire nights meeting other guests. Love the Rabbits!
Review 93:Loved the location! Very quiet! We liked not have a lot of people around. Very clean! Great staff!!
Review 94:Location, location, location!
Review 95:The beds were so high they were almost impossible to get into, and one in, they defeated any purpose but sleeping.
Review 96:No towels in room the first night
Review 97:Beautiful location
Review 98:Environment/landscape Housekeeper very friendly
Review 99:It was great except the bed was quite high and hard to get into - could have used a little step stool
Review 100:Location was beautiful area. Quiet.
Review 101:Nice comfy cabins with rugged scenery backdrop. A great way to unwind after the chaotic traffic through Yellowstone.
