Reviews for The Lofts Hotel
Review 1:It's new hotel made from an old converted warehouse. The walls and floor are a bit thin. Not as quiet as we would have liked.
Review 2:Great design, very friendly staff. Connected to the Crown Plaza and had the use of their facilities. Can't beat the location if you're going to the arena.
Review 3:not the type of place I would expect to find in the midwest-very east coast city style w/ one BIG difference: the room was huge. easy fast check-in, helpful staff...great property
Review 4:Didn't like having to go all the way down and out of the building to get a can of pop ! Room service had left a tray in the hall that was there when we arrived and was still there when we left.
Review 5:Loved the old warehouse feel, it was unique and very nicely done.. Very Clean
Review 6:Nothing!
Review 7:Loved the different look and vibe of the hotel. The front desk concierge was always helpful with our questions, and I loved the downtown shuttle service!
Review 8:The only thing negative would be the price and the the noise from the room above us. You could hear the floors creek with every step the person took.
Review 9:The room and location was excellent. staff was very nice. Comfortable beds And plenty of room.
Review 10:I would definitely return. The reasons are the following: 1-Great service 2-Beautiful Hotel & the room was sort of artsy 3-Best Location (downtown Columbus right across from the Convention Center) 4-Very nice staff & very helpful. 5-Very courteous valet parking & service The best I liked from the hotel was the comfort of the room and views. I think is a great hotel for adults especially and if there are kids around you won´t notice them. I hope this answers all your questions.
Review 11:Paying daily for parking. Wish the lobby was a little more welcoming.
Review 12:You don't feel like you are in a hotel. It is very modern and huge! We were able to hang out all day in the hotel and not feel like we had to leave because we were tired of it. It was also close walking distance to popular bars and restaurants (5 minutes).
Review 13:Only complaint was the noise the air made when it kicked on. Disrupted sleep.
Review 14:Very large room, not your typical size hotel room. Convenient location. Clean.
Review 15:The Lofts advertise a pool and workout center which is actually not even on sight. It's a shared facility 3 blocks away.
Review 16:Building is unique, wood floors, rooms with exposed brick and pipes are neat. Room was big.
Review 17:Nothing bad to report here.
Review 18:The amount of space we got for the price was fantastic. I loved the fact that one could go from the convention center to the hotel without going outside. Amenities for the room were fine, coffee pot, mini bar, ect. The room was very clean and there were plenty of towels.
Review 19:Clothes storage is limited, limited counter space in bathroom enough for 1 guest
Review 20:Modern decour, size of room, comfortable bed, location in Arena District
Review 21:Only downfall I'd say is that the rooms really need a mini fridge standard in all rooms... I've stayed in standard room to the kinking suite and no fridge in any of the rooms..
Review 22:Love the modern feel especially the exposed brick. Also like how close to the arena district the lofts sits...
Review 23:The hotel does need some updating/cleaning as far as rugs, carpets and wood flooring. The front desk staff were "okay" but not overly friendly or welcoming. Dinner at Max and Erma's was good but the Sunday buffet was very poor. Biscuits were hard as a rock & everything else was dry. The omelette station was a good idea, but not when you have to wait/stand in a long line for 15 mins as your other food gets cold. My server was discouraging myself & others seated near from ordering off the menu. She acted like it would be more work for her and the kitchen staff. Overall I do like this hotel, but for over $400 a night, they need to step things up a bit. There are some nice and newer hotels near by for less money.
Review 24:I love the Loft theme of this hotel and the location is great. It's close to all the "happenings" in downtown Columbus and the Short North. The valet staff were fast and friendly.
Review 25:Pillows were small and hard as a rock and when we called room service to Change it took so long we had to call again. Furnace made a loud whistle all night. They said they could do nothing for us do to booking through a third party?
Review 26:Cool loft feel, very modern, normally a great experience
Review 27:I thought it was a bit overpriced.
Review 28:Location Beds were comfy Staff were very helpful Within walking distance to every place I needed to go. Loved the "loft" style rooms.
Review 29:The valet parking was a little slow dropping off and picking up, but to be fair the city had construction on Nationwide and the entire area was a mess. But the gentlemen working there was calm, collected and polite.
Review 30:The hotel atmosphere was amazing. The fact it was located so close to many things to do (Short North, Arena District) was a nice bonus.
Review 31:That parking was not free for paid guests. We paid $23 for valet parking for one night.
Review 32:The room was very clean. We enjoyed the high end L'Occitane bath products.
Review 33:Check in was an absolute breeze and the front desk worker was so knowledgable. She was awesome in letting me get into a room earlier than planned. The rooms are huge and I felt like I could live there! Having Max and Erma's so close was great too. We took advantage of the hotel shuttle five times! So easy
Review 34:No one answered phone for housekeeping or room service. We tried two different times. We weren't notified when making reservations about construction. So we were woke at 6:00am to jack hammers and trucks. Very disappointed that even though I made a notation on the reservation that it was my husbands birthday, not even a note or chocolates were in the room.
Review 35:Location
Review 36:The host was friendly and professional. The service and the room exceeded our expectations. This was.the greatest.birthday trip
Review 37:Rooms are dark.
Review 38:Quiet, nice layout, spacious
Review 39:Staff was great --
Review 40:Our room was HUGE...large seating area in first room and bedroom area was very large also. Many windows overlooking the city.
Review 41:The details and size of the room
Review 42:Location was great and staff was nice. Could have used a little more than limited free coffee for the price paid.
Review 43:Location, space in rooms and cool design
Review 44:Dirty/stained carpeting, small bathroom, overall grungy feel.
Review 45:Friendly staff, nice location
Review 46:Huge room, excellent location and very comfortable.
Review 47:Fine room - Extremely easy check-in
Review 48:Location and amenities were excellent.
Review 49:the hotel was very comfortable, plus the design was very appealing. I loved everything about it!
Review 50:Staff very friendly and accommodating.
Review 51:Parking service undermanned - long waits for car
Review 52:too much money for a single king bed.
Review 53:bathroom
Review 54:Heater was a bit loud when it first kicked on
Review 55:Lots of space
Review 56:Location, price was great for a great looking room
Review 57:Price Mandatory valet service and paid wifi
Review 58:Unique bldg and rooms Excellent locatuon to arena disrict
Review 59:Ordered breakfast and it came two hours later than promised. Phone in room did not work. Paid a lot to park there.
Review 60:Location Decor Bed
Review 61:Too noisy.
Review 62:Everything
Review 63:Small gripe - put out room clean request and left for 4 hours. Came back to room not serviced.
Review 64:Rooms were stylish and roomy!
Review 65:No complaints. Wonderful stay.
Review 66:Staff was wonderful, nice and friendly. Room was clean, and bed was very comfortable. Columbus is not the most exciting place to visit, but you wouldn't think that based on the location of the Lofts. I had a blast in the short north.
Review 67:No business center to print out boarding passes for our travel. A housekeeper left a dirty rag in my friend's luggage.
Review 68:I loved the decor of the hotel. Front desk was always very nice no matter who was working. They gave me a room next to my friends as requested even though they were having a busy weekend.
Review 69:The room was comfortable and we enjoyed the warehouse-style architecture. The hotel shuttle was very helpful as it took us to and from sightseeing locations within a 3 mile radius.
Review 70:Furnishings were very industrial, more like a factory than a hotel. We were only there one night so that was fine.
Review 71:Room was large. Bed was comfortable. Valet parking. Great location.
Review 72:Toilet on second day took several attempts to flush, third day would not flush, in-room safe door did not lock, same discarded drink glass sat for three days on shelf in hallway by elevator.
Review 73:Room was huge, very clean, bed extremely comfortable, bathroom spotless, location excellent, nice bath products, very quiet for being fully booked.
Review 74:In the morning it was SO loud, you could hear people walking around in their room. Ceiling has no insulation.
Review 75:The room was big and nice, bed comfortable.
Review 76:No mini fridge in the room.
Review 77:I really liked the funky feel the building had. I appreciate re-purposed buildings and I'm glad you could retain it's bones. Bed was comfortable, Bathroom was big. Luv the makeup mirror too.
Review 78:When I was looking at pictures of the king suite, which I stayed in, it had a much bigger bathroom and our view was of a brick wall. Wasn't very happy with the size of the room for what we paid for.
Review 79:Bed was very comfortable
Review 80:The overall feel was that it was in need of a refresh. The carpet was in terrible shape. There was no decent lighting in the room.
Review 81:We liked that it is different from your average hotel. The rooms were exceptionally large.
Review 82:The comforter was visibly dirty. The blanket in the closet smelled not like it was clean. The tray table in the room was sticky and decidedly gross. For the amount of money the room cost, I would think it would be pristine, but it was not even close.
Review 83:I enjoyed the location and that we did not have to go outside to get to the Columbus Convention Center.
Review 84:Took us abit to find it as hotel address says Nationwide East and it is actually West. Bed was abit hard.
Review 85:We attended a hockey game so a great location. Nice large room. Very clean. Enjoyed our stay. For the price I would have expected nothing less. Was pleased.
Review 86:the coffee and tea and accoutrements were the same as those at a cut-rate motel. the carpet was wavy; the plant was walmart-y, and too small for the proportions of the loft. in fact, none of the decor took advantage of the space. the bed linens were cotton, but harsh against the skin, especially the stiff bed cover.
Review 87:the bathrobe & higher quality toiletries were nice touches. comfortable beds. loved having an iphone deck in the room.
Review 88:I wish the gym was in the hotel but it's across the lobby so it's not too inconvenient.
Review 89:The rooms are so big and unusual. Since it was an old warehouse, the ceiling are angled. The bed is very comfortable. The restaurant/bar downstairs is very convenient and tasty.
Review 90:Need more coffee in the room. Mattress is too hard. Pillows are too small.
Review 91:Huge rooms with high ceilings and lots of natural light. Spacious, clean bathroom. Enough lamps to move around easily to get whatever light needed.
Review 92:Truly, this is the place to be in downtown Columbus. The hotel is trendy but not over-the-top and very accommodating to the needs of the guests. This place is awesome!
Review 93:Heat didn't work. We got there late, no one at desk, no sign stating to go to other hotel to check in. Had a locked mini bar in room but no key
Review 94:Room was very nice
Review 95:-Terrible lighting in rooms-very dark at night -Walls could use more pictures -Room can be kind of bleak at night or in bad weather due to dark rug, minimal lighting, bare walls; not very cheerful -Front desk folks nice but not very helpful; need to go to Crowne Plaza next door, who must manage Lofts -Shower has terrible water pressure, takes awhile to get hot, and pressure varies w/# of people using water in hotel -Stayed there a week and had to ask to have room cleaned; after that it was cleaned every day
Review 96:-Great location; easy walk to Short North, shops, restaurants, downtown -Big windows, lots of floor space -Comfortable beds -Loft space w/high ceilings is attractive -I've stayed there twice and enjoyed it, but next time will probably stay somewhere else that isn't as dark -Good value for money in that area
Review 97:We filled out our menu for room service and we placed it on door handle before midnight. We never received our breakfast.
Review 98:WE loved the room! Big comfortable bed. Close to Nationwide Arena. Very enjoyable experience
Review 99:The blinds and window sills were dusty and there was yelling in the hallway at about 6:30am that woke me up.
Review 100:I loved the style of the room and the big comfy bed.
Review 101:The bedroom didn't have as many amenities as I would have liked. The mini fridge was so shallow we couldn't keep much in it for our weekend, as well I found the bed way too high and it actually hurt to get into bed as a 6 month pregnant woman. The bathroom drains backed up so you had inches of water in the shower while showering. We also found the ventilation to be an issue, the room got too hot most of the time and had no air flow.
Review 102:It was very close to the National Arena which we needed. As well the Valet was always helpful, and it had really good internet strength. The layout of the room was really large, and the hotel was very interesting with all the architectural details.
Review 103:The living room of our room was VERY hot at night when the door was closed. Our 7 year old couldn't sleep because of the temperature. Also a king bed should have king pillows. The pillows on the bed were very small; too small for the bed.
Review 104:We had a junior suite on the fifth floor and it was very spacious. Great decor. Made you feel like you were staying in some fabulous NYC loft1
Review 105:Trying to check in during an event was a nightmare. Clearly understaffedfor the valet parking, took too long. Would have appreciated somethingthat told us that Breakfast in the restaurant was only Breakfast Bar ata cost of $16.00. Food was good but was not worth what we paid.
Review 106:Loved the proximity to Nationwide Arena and the covered walkway.
Review 107:My only issue was that I was informed upon arrival that there was room service until 11. I called from 10-11 and nobody answered. A little disappointing but I loved staying there overall.
Review 108:Great location and super friendly staff! Cant wait to go back!
Review 109:They never cleaned my room during my stay or replenish shampoo or stuff. They made the bed that's all, never took out the trash. The lighting in the room was bad, very dark. the ceiling creaked and the person in the room above was up walking around all night all.
Review 110:The room was big and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was luxurious.
Review 111:My room was not ready and had to be switched to another room because it was still being occupied. When I got to the other room, the temp was 54 degrees and it took all of 2 days to get it to 70.
Review 112:large comfortable bed. nice towels. free WiFi
Review 113:The only minor complaint I can even think of is the tub filled up with water while taking a shower.
Review 114:Love The Lofts! This was our 3rd time staying there for an annual convention. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, comfortable and very clean. Staff is attentive and friendly, and the shuttle to local restaurants was really appreciated.
Review 115:That I had to travel outside to get to the fitness room. Not a big deal, I just don't think this was detailed on the website.
Review 116:Loved the room. Very comfortable.
Review 117:Could have used better pillows. The shower was weak & didnt get hot.Overall a good experience until we left and got home to find an extra 20added to out charge. The system for keeping up with what is used out ofthe mini bar is lacking. They charged us for stuff we did not use butquickly adjusted it when we called and disputed it.
Review 118:The atmosphere &didnt history is incredible. Decor was nice. Bed wascomfortable. Quick to help & get things we needed. And the breakfastwas delivered right on time, As well as delicious
Review 119:Nothing
Review 120:Modern eclectic rooms great location and amenities available at the crown plaza right next door like work our room, indoor pi ool and restaurant. Will stay there again if the opportunity arrises.
Review 121:The Lofts is a one-of-a-kind hotel. Incorporating the original structure into a modern facility is really cool. I love this place and if have a reason to return I will.
Review 122:Bed/couch weren't that comfortable. Wifi was slow. No breakfast No vending or snacks available.
Review 123:Style, setup, look are awesome. Wifi is now free. Room was 9/10 with cleanliness.
Review 124:The acoustics were horrible. Not so much in your own room but we heard EVERYTHING going on in the other rooms at all hours! Needless to say it was tough sleeping. The beds were not any better. If you like firm then this is your place! We also didn't have hot water. It was slightly above warm. Not a place I could recommend to my enemies!
Review 125:The loft look was amazing. They did a great job decorating and the rooms are huge. Location is amazing if you are headed to the convention center. There is a walkway so you don't have to go outside. The views were great.
Review 126:Can't think of a thing....will definitely stay there our next time in Columbus!
Review 127:Very all thought out, every detail is taken care of and the room was neat, clean and very comfortable. The staff was professional. The hotel is a "no fuss" hotel, small lobby and just easy to deal with.
