Reviews for Irma Hotel

Review 1:The meal we had in the restaurant - served raw meat and stringy fresh salmon - real shame. Central heatin was a hiss and wheeze during the winter and very hot

Review 2:Everything was great - including the unusual (at least for America) deep deep bath..... a luxury. The first impression is the place is dirty and tired but the bedroom was real traditional and very very clean

Review 3:radiator pipes clanked ALL night; staff said was valve problem and the situation was somewhat fixed the next night. They comp'd us a night, and have a portion of the hotel they would have moved us to for same price, but check the room before you commit!

Review 4:love the historic aspect of the hotel; decor nice; certainly a "western" feel; I love to support these kinds of places. Restaurant on-site.

Review 5:Absolutely nothing !!

Review 6:Everything..history, furnishings, but most of all your staff. They are fantastic. Bar is a blast.....dining is a fun, fun time with Tammy and Candy !!!

Review 7:We would have liked to have stayed in one of the original historic rooms, that is really the only thing that could have made our stay any better!

Review 8:We liked that the Irma is full of history and it was fun to stay and eat there! The bed was VERY comfortable.

Review 9:The buffet in the restaurant was pretty disappointing. The staff in the hotel and restaurant seem to be in adequate for the amount of people that were there.

Review 10:The location was good.

Review 11:The fact that it is a historical site and we experienced a "bit of the old west". Loved the meals, drove 900 miles for the prime rib. Fabulous gift shop, could have spent more $$$.

Review 12:Loved the hotel and the staff was great and very attentive. Stayed two nights and told some of the staff out plans. The next morning everyone was asking how our sight seeing went. They were very attentive

Review 13:Staff not overly friendly l

Review 14:Hotel was very historical. Well appointed rooms yet keeping with the history period. Bed comfortable, furniture well suited to time frame. Bathroom with all the modern necessities. Definitely take the trolley tour.

Review 15:Loved the historical aspect of the hotel and area. We stayed in one of newer rooms but the bar and dining room are beautifully maintained in their original manner. Dinner was great but we did not have breakfast there... Although the hostess graciously gave me coffee to take back to room. Fun experience. Just wish we had had more time in Cody .

Review 16:The dining room with great historical bar. Lounge/bar w/ music. The front porch with lot's of picnic bench seating where you can smoke, drink and eat to your heart delight a hard combination to come by. Get a first floor roon

Review 17:An historic hotel, very well manteined. The rooms are comfortable and beautiful, and the whole place is very typical. They have also a very good restaurant, not really expensive. I recommend this place, staying here was a great experience.

Review 18:The accommodations are dumpy. Yes, it is historical but the furnishings are not antiques they are just old. If you were paying $69 a night you would expect this but not when you are paying over $140 a night.

Review 19:This is a great location. Right in the heart of downtown Cody.

Review 20:No breakfast was included and the food in general was not that great

Review 21:It was fun to stay at such a historic and wonderful old hotel. The antique furniture in the rooms was delightful.

Review 22:The shower tap and curtain were broken and when we noticed it the next morning to the front desk staff, they even did not apologize or gave the feeling they would take it in account

Review 23:The overall old America atmosphere

Review 24:It wasn't really bad, but there was rarely anyone on the desk. Also it wasn't the easiest place to reach by phone.

Review 25:Part of history. Spacious rooms. Good restaurant. Close to other good restaurants.

Review 26:Ice for your room was only available from hotel staff at the restaurant or front desk.

Review 27:Amazing historic hotel built in 1903. The staff was outstanding! Great restaurant, bar and gift shop right at the hotel. Central location so walking to surrounding attractions was easy. The room was clean and comfortable.

Review 28:The shower was awful - we stayed in the historic part of the hotel, which was charming. If you're going to update the bathroom to include a shower, at least make it a decent shower!

Review 29:Rooms were spacious and nicely appointed; gave a real feel for "back in the day." Enjoying lunch on the deck while watching a thunderstorm was a real treat!

Review 30:Poor plumbing. Toilet overflowed. Staff indicated they had had known about plumbing problems in this room and still rented it to us. Toilet ran all night. Parking not guaranteed and scarce.

Review 31:Great location.

Review 32:Do visit the Irma hotel but don't stat there. This hotel is"kitchy" but not at all what it appears in website pictures.Poor service as staff appeared confused most of the time (multiplestaffing), poor food quality, terrible bedding, and overall run downestablishment. Moral among employees appeared low as well.

Review 33:Restaurant decor

Review 34:The carpet in the room was dirty. In fact everything had a grubby feel to it. The Irma is resting on its laurels - it needs to give value for money. Compared with oher places we stayed it was expensive. The 'shoot out' was disappointing, many of the 'actors' didn't know what they were supposed to be doing and the main objective seemed to be to make as much noise as possible.

Review 35:A good location and helpful staff. Happy hour at the bar was a bonus.

Review 36:The staff were very friendly and helpful especially with recommendation on where to go and what to do. Comfortable and clean if a bit basic, but relaxed and central to everything.

Review 37:W hen we checked in the clerk gave us directions--specifically don't go up the stairs--we were looking around like dopes for our room and had to come back to ask someone else. Our room was on 2nd floor!

Review 38:Breakfast buffet and free wifi after being "dark in the park" at Yellowstone for 5 days.

Review 39:I had greater expectations from such a famous place, the hotel room was run down, the breakfast was average like the dinner

Review 40:We liked the location very much and the history behind it

Review 41:Beds a little hard. But you never know what you are going to get with beds

Review 42:Cool to stay in a historic hotel. Great location and staff Very friendly and helpful.

Review 43:It was very shabby ,the dinning room was like a works canteen ! The person on the front desk was rude and abrupt! Very disappointed will not stay there again

Review 44:Not a lot

Review 45:Noisy heat registers came on during the middle of the night.

Review 46:It was winter season so rates were low and no crowds to contend with. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful, welcoming.

Review 47:The staff were all very helpful and friendly and our room was clean and comfortable, although the hot water in the shower took a few minutes to warm up. We had drinks and an appetizer in the bar which were good and we loved the history of the place and the fact that it is supposed to be haunted. All in all, we enjoyed our stay at The Irma Hotel.

Review 48:Looked for outlets for all our electric devices, but there were not enough. That's about only complaint.

Review 49:People (staff) Decore (beautiful wood work) Comfort (temperature and quietness) Price (of season price?)

Review 50:The hotel restaurant closed early on sunday evening (< 9 pm). Sink was in the bedroom rather than in the bathroom, what caused the carpet underneath to get wet.

Review 51:We stayed in the old part of the hotel wich was decorated in western style, very cool! Breakfast buffet was great.

Review 52:Shower was not as hot or strong as we would have liked, but we're not made of same stuff as the early pioneers.

Review 53:Right in the middle of the action. A chance to get out og the car and walk to shops, restaurants and museums.

Review 54:Very small window in the room, no view. Couldnt open window and screen was almost falling off.

Review 55:Dining Room and meals were very good. Character hotel. Loved the Gunfight!.

Review 56:I was disappointed that our room was not furnished with period furniture. The advertisement for the hotel indicated such, but I now know that the ad is not representative if all rooms.

Review 57:Location and historical environment.

Review 58:The decor was horrible. You would think if you are advertising your property as a historic place, you would attempt to have true periodic furniture. It was very noisy. The servers in the restaurant were rude.

Review 59:The fact it was downtown

Review 60:Water pipes banging in the early hours of the morning and no guest lift for the cases

Review 61:We loved the atmosphere most of all, the food was great and the bar was fabulous, both entertainment and beer, the location was perfect and the shoot out on the street outside was cheesy but great fun.

Review 62:Wasn't able to stay long enough.

Review 63:The atmosphere was like something out of the old west. The building, fixtures and furniture were like stepping back in time which was my goal of staying at the Irma. The characters in the "gunfight" looked so authentic and really played their parts well. What fun!

Review 64:Lovely old hotel. Our room was clean and spacious. Reception staff were helpful but not overly friendly. restaurant food was excellent. Enjoyed the Bill Cody gunfight outside the hotel. Would stay here again.

Review 65:No complaints apart from no beer on tap (draught).. Bottles only but plenty of choice

Review 66:Very original. We stayed in a historic room which was not what we had booked so it was more expensive.Right on Main Street.Restaurant in hotel was not expensive and on a par with other restaurants. No problem parking. You are only here once so why not splash out1!

Review 67:We had a ground floor room overlooking the car park and right next to the kitchens oh it was hell so noisy. The old wooden floors made it sound as if elephants were above us but that I could have put up with. Just after 11pm the kitchen staff are clearing up banging and making such noise. Then at 4 am they start again banging , talking loudly with no regard for anyone in the rooms . The bar closes at 2am so there is lots of noise with guests moving around as well. Food was poor , have a look , try the bar but if you want to sleep stay well clear .

Review 68:Location

Review 69:In restaurant we had a waitress who was obviously stoned. She had problems with all her tables in our area. It became comical. Food was good though.

Review 70:Location was good and room was comfortable.

Review 71:Rooms were a little shabby. Breakfast not included in room rate.

Review 72:Fantastic bar area, good feel to the hotel, and of course its history. Great gunfight outside at night. Staff friendly and helpful.

Review 73:Can't think of anything.

Review 74:I liked the location being downtown . Parking was easy. Nerver had been out that way before enjoyed it all. Pa is nice too.

Review 75:Room we were given was next to the main road. Harley Davidson, trucks and name it were going thru our bed....

Review 76:The restaurant was like being with those far west legends.

Review 77:Only room left was next to Main St. After Sturgis Rally Days it was noisy but still got decent night's sleep. Hotel clerk told me we wouldn't hear anything...ha!

Review 78:Nice, lively, clean, well kept turn of century hotel that Buffalo Bill slept in. Excellent location in downtown Cody. Nothing fancy but has all the basics at a good rate. Good restaurant & bar.

Review 79:Even though I had booking confirmation for two rooms they only reserved one. The hotel was full and my reservation was not honored. As a result we were not able to stay at the Irma as booked and confirmed.

Review 80:Check in guy was brunt and almost rude, everyone else was fine.

Review 81:Great location, reasonable price for the area, gunfighter shootout right outside the hotel, good restaurant in the hotel, great historic location!

Review 82:I loved the fact that they maintained the older style in the curtains, carpeting, and other items used in the room. My husband grew up in Cody and it was a real treat to stay right downtown where all the action was, and be such a part of the history of the town. Loved it!

Review 83:Toilet leaked and made loud banging noise when it filled. Woke us at least three times during night. Bed was uncomfortable. A/C unit was too loud to run overnight. No fridge.

Review 84:Old West charm and location

Review 85:Nothing bad to say

Review 86:The history and the quality is absolutely awesome. A must stay if you are in the area

Review 87:not a good matress

Review 88:the dec or is terrific!

Review 89:We would have liked a fridge in the room.

Review 90:Building is old but full of character. Staff were amusing and good. Room comfortable.

Review 91:The atmosphere, the beautiful barroom and the food

Review 92:Great location, friendly staff and very quiet comfortable rooms.

Review 93:The ambience is simply wonderful. It is not everyday you can stay in a real cowboy hotel.

Review 94:The Irma is a slice of the old west...I would not stay anywhere else while in Cody WY. The staff was friendly and the food was great.

Review 95:Location. Retains the old western theme. Authentic.

Review 96:History of the Hotel and the area.

Review 97:everything

Review 98:inattentive front desk and restaurant staff uncleaned drawer by bed

Review 99:charm and history

Review 100:None

Review 101:My husband picked up a nasty virus and the desk clerk gave us more checkout time and another room accommodation for the next night.
