Reviews for Yamawa Guesthouse

Review 1:Facilities were old, hard, uncomfortable and creaking mattress;;; Room was dark even though turn on the light.. Air conditioner was old, make a racket all day long..

Review 2:The owners were very helpful and smile broadly. It was cheap. I think just one night is not bad. That's all...

Review 3:Don't expect luxury, it is a gusthouse not a hotel. Everything is working and is well equiped.

Review 4:Family that runs the gueshouse is exceptionaly helpful and welcoming. You can rely on them to help you with the food choices in Trang as well as transfer and bookings to the islands. Very good and cheap nightmarket nearby.

Review 5:Wonderful hospitality and great at-home atmosphere made us so happy at Yamawa. Not a new hotel type but even great with the budget. Ask the owner about nice dim sum restaurant for breakfast and very local yum Thai restaurant. 3min to local Night Market and good to spend one night transit in Trang.

Review 6:The owners were very helpful giving information of the local area and what was happening. When it came to my onward travel the owner without asking personally took me to the local bus station to ensure I got the right transport to my next destination. Bearing in mind I was in a solo Thai speaking place this was invaluable. Thank you.

Review 7:Possibility to buy some food or snacks in guesthouse would be nice

Review 8:Owner and his wife are very friendly and helpfull. Room is clean. Wifi is good. Location is good.

Review 9:Not so many restaurants near to choose from at night. But maybe that was just unlucky for us.

Review 10:We stayed for only one night, but they were very helpful with our booking to koh lipe. A comfortable room and friendly staff. Also really close to a night market and train station. Would recommend for anyone passing through Trang on their way to the islands!

Review 11:The room we booked is near the main road so we can heard every engines clearly, closing bathroom door can make it quieter. The owner is appreciated to change the room for us but finally, I still sleep well all 3 nights in that room. There are 8 rooms, the room on the road side is bigger and have own balcony. It is good to dry cloth.

Review 12:The two owners are very helpful, kind and friendly. They take care us like their family members. Once, I leave my cloth outside and go out, then it was raining before I came back so they bring my cloth back into the room. The room and bed always clean and neat. Peacful. Perfect location. Resonable price. Recommend to stay here when visit Trang.

Review 13:The owner are very nice and friendly. Good service, great location. They made my trip so comfortable. A room is good and clean, it was reasonable with the price. we were very relax as home and imprassed with their service. We Will back there again for sure!!

Review 14:the staff were so friendly and helpful, gave us a map and told us places to go or places to avoid, helped me print out my boarding passes for our onward flights , and helped us get to and from the airport! rooms were basic but extremely clean! highly recommended.

Review 15:wife found the bed a little firm for her liking but I was ok with it.

Review 16:Located in the center of town, the accommodation is simple, it's clean and comfortable and budget priced but the hosts make the Yamawa Guesthouse an oasis for the weary traveler. In my time I have stayed at many 5+ star hotels but the hosts of Yamawa put all them shame with the level of service we received. For example: as well as recommending great restaurants they walked us to them to make sure we did not get lost. When it started to rain, I came down to find my motorbike had been covered with a sheet of plastic and an umbrella. We will defiantly return.

Review 17:The family that runs this place couldn't be nicer. They are full of information about the town and how to get to your next destination. The Wifi in the room is great as well. Good value!

Review 18:Our double bed was fine, but our friends who were in twin beds said the beds were a bit hard.

Review 19:It's in a good location in the centre of Trang, and the owners are incredibly welcoming, friendly and helpful. They made us feel very confortable, and helped us organise our trip. The rooms are basic but have everything you need.

Review 20:The one-day boat tour of four islands turned out to be three islands, plus did not appreciate that farangs had to pay 200 baht extra compared to Thais. I thought sites selected for snorkeling were poor because every one of them was in the shadow of the island cliffs which made for what I consider poor visibility considering the water clarity. Kinda like snorkeling with dark sunglasses on under the mask.

Review 21:Friendliness of husband and wife owners of the guesthouse. Five-minute walk to a very good night market where good Thai food was available at low cost and friendly service. Trang has an excellent sports facility that includes tennis courts and a full-size swimming pool at reasonable cost., swimming pool

Review 22:Nothing.

Review 23:An oasis of calm in a busy city. The owners are perhaps the friendliest people throughout Thailand. Very willing to help at all. He on his scooter drove me to the store. He personally led us to breakfast in the morning.

Review 24:Clean, central (few min from the station and close to the markets) comfortable bed, wifi, hot shower and good price. We really loved our stay @Yamawa and Jo is such a great host! He walked us to one of the night markets and gave us a lot of useful informations regarding food and local costumes. I would definitely recommend this place, especially if you want to have a genuine Trang experience.

Review 25:We've been to many hotels all around the world and we never met people as nice as the manager and his wife of Yamawa Guesthouse!! There are so welcoming, so smiley, they make you feel good and happy! The hotel is located in the centre of Trang city, near the night market. The room was very nice, hot shower, A/C... and very cheap! If you get a chance to stop in Trang city, you shouldn't miss meeting the couple! We had a perfect stay, again thank you from Marilyne and Julien

Review 26:Hotel: - There is No lift. There are 3 or 4 levels above ground floor. If you have heavy luggage you should aks for a room on a lower level. Room: - 2 or 3 collected combinations of spider net and dust hanging from the ceiling - bed was quite old. However, matress was good enough for me not to get back problems, which I often get - Blanket was rather a big towel then - No WiFi in the room (booking.com: "Free! WiFi is available in all areas and is free of charge. ") Hosts: -language skills (English)

Review 27:Summary: Good location in the center, but surrounding not very loud (we had a room with window to the backside). Very good price for value relation and easy to feel well.Very good for overnight stay (1 or 2 nights). Hotel: + Nice entrance area for welcoming Public entrance area: + places to sit + WiFi + Big fridge with cold drinks, prices likely the same in 7 Eleven (or cheaper) Location: + Placed in the center of Trang, close to the town hall, a 5 minutes walway to the night market. Easy to find food and restaurants nearby. Room: + Big enough for bed and suitcases. + Floor and bed clean. + AC (worked well) ++ refridgerator (not expected) Little bathroom: +clean + WC + shower (both worked well) Hosts: +extremely friendly +very helpful The owners (couple) were extremely friendly and helpful. The man gave us good recommendations for trips. He offered to rent his private bike for a very low price (100bath halfday). He walked with us to show us a Hongkong food restaurant nearby where we had a good and cheap breakfast.

Review 28:The staff were very helpful and informative in terms of what to do and see in the area and how to get there. Or if you just want to relax that's fine.

Review 29:The room is really basic.

Review 30:I have to say that seldom one meets such kindness and caring as at Yamawa Guesthouse. The owner walked with us to a fantastic dim sum breakfast place quite many streets away. We also got a photo afterwards from the owners per e-mail.

Review 31:Nothing

Review 32:We book this guesthouse for 2 rooms (4 adults) for 2 nights at about half November 2014. The rooms were nice with air condition, fan, private bathroom. The rooms worth the money you spend. But the best is Jo and his wife. They are very helpful, super friendly. They helped us to organize our own tour around Trang giving good advise for the places to visit, arranging at a very good price car renting, tickets to Koh Muk, etc. "Feel he friendship" is their slogan, and we assume that it's really true!

Review 33:I was going to Koh Lipe from Trang city. I had lovely stay there also if it was for 1 night only. Staff is amazing (the owner and her wife are just lovely.. i arrived they offered me a coffee :)) and provided me of all the info I needed. Goodheart people. Recommend this place.

Review 34:The only thing I would change is the pillows, otherwise this guesthouse is a great value for money.

Review 35:The owner is a really nice person! Thank you very much!

Review 36:Aircon directly over the bed. It should be a little bit further.

Review 37:The owners are very nice and helpful. Their help is much wider than standard help. Excellent price-quality propotion. Hot water, fridge, large room.

Review 38:Trang is a transit hub and as such, there's not much to see or do in the city. If you do venture out there's a National Park but this was closed as I had arrived in the rainy season...

Review 39:I missed my connection and so ended up staying at Yamawa's Guesthouse and to my surprise, not only was it reasonably priced, the family owners were the most genuinely honest and hospitable that I have met so far on these travels - highest accolades to them!

Review 40:Wifi signal is not so well ,but it's ok

Review 41:Very good place, Mr.Jo and Mrs Jo are very friendly, warm hearted, its our first time to go to Trang, we feels very lucky to met both of them, language is not our problems, 5 stars recommend.

Review 43:There really isn't much to do in Trang.

Review 44:The owners are super helpful and making you feel at home.

Review 45:Guesthouse owners were very friendly and helpful. We were given recommendations for places to eat and they helped us with our travel plans.

Review 66:The very friendly family provided us with maps and advice - we very much enjoyed our brief stay in Trang. Thank you.

Review 67:The bed is too hard.

Review 68:Staffs are nice and helpful.

Review 69:The genuine warmth radiated from the owners made staying here one of the best experiences for traveling in Thailand.

Review 70:Helpful and friendly staff, clean room, great price

Review 71:The owners of the guesthouse are very friendly and helpful. Great location.

Review 72:Very warm and extremely helpful staff. Actually they were even more than that which is very rare in my experince

Review 73:Great staff! Basic and clean. For the price great.

Review 74:I liked everything. I spent literally barely any time in the room so all that matters to me is that it's clean, there's AC and there aren't any bed bugs (like I got across the street at queen). Some might say it was a little old fashioned (in terms of decor) but that stuff isn't im

Review 75:The staff I met were incredibly sweet and considerate. When they showed me the room they were concerned if I thought it was ok. The man (I'm assuming the owner) offered to give me a ride to the bus station when I left which I thought was incredibly sweet.

The Fine Print
