Review 1：Our main bad experience was discovering after we arrived that we would not be able to access the bar for a drink after tea-time on New Year's Eve. Imagine our disappointment after travelling from the UK to celebrate New Year abroad in Vilamoura to find out we couldn't even relax and enjoy a drink at our own complex! We were aware of the Gala Dinner prior to booking but had decided not to book and pay the 119 Euros per person as we were not keen on the menu, but assumed we could still access the bar area to purchase and enjoy a drink along with other guests staying at Four Seasons on New Year's Eve. When we checked in we were given a note along with the weekly entertainment programme which explained that the restaurant and lounge/bar area would be closed off to everyone from a certain time in the evening for the Gala Dinner. The previous evening we called by reception to see whether there would be anywhere else available within the complex for other guests who were not attending the Gala Dinner to have a drink, but were advised by the receptionist that there were no other arrangements due to staff availability and that guests not attending would not be able to access the bar/lounge and would also have to gain entry to their apartments via the side road as the reception would be also be closed off. This was the first we had been told about these arrangements and would not have known had we not bothered to ask. The following day my mother-in-law asked reception whether all the 200 people attending the Gala Dinner were in fact guests staying at Four Seasons and was advised that yes they were, however we had definitely not seen that many people wandering around the complex during our 7 night stay, so she pursued this conversation with other senior managers in order to confirm this.

Review 2：Our two bedroom apartment was clean and spacious, and well equipped, although the mattresses were uncomfortable. We enjoyed using the indoor heated swimming pool and Jacuzzi especially as it rained on a few days during our stay. The buffet breakfast was nice enough and a good selection but it would have been better to have more than one hot drinks machine especially when the machine broke.

Four Seasons ? This is quite misleading as I was under the impression that I was staying at a four seasons resort ? I suggest this is made apparent when booking to avoid any disappointment.

Review 27：4 star facilities but 2 star very dated rooms.. Boiler failed twice. Air Con had only one setting that worked - icy blast or nothing..Shower was an old style mixer tap. Need to take a tourist train to get to beach. Taxis they called were unreliable. Various problems reported with the room were not fixed all week. Very little information given on what else there was to do in the area. The one tour we took through the hotel was advertised as a half day tour but was actually 8 1/2 hours with less that 2 hours actually off the coach seeing anything, half of which went on eating as food was not allowed on the coach. A lot was made of the golf course and resident pro, but if you don't play golf that is of no advantage..The apartments have good support for self-catering but how many people want to go to a 4 star hotel and then do self-catering? The root of the problem is that the apartments are timeshares. The owners don't want to update them as that costs money and reduces their revenue. They are probably designed for the owners to live in during quieter months. They don't serve very well as hotel rooms. For the £200 per night that we paid I would have expected a lot more..

Review 39：The hotel itself is a bit dated. The air conditioning in the apartments is very noisy. TV stations weren't working well. We were promised a free meal for moving room but they never gave it to us - we had to remind them and ask for it at check out, which we felt was poor on their side.

Review 66：The pools were beautiful, our apartment was incredible. Nightly entertainment was fun for all the family. The staff were amazing and couldn't have been more patient and friendly. The children loved the indoor pool so they were happy when the weather was bad and they loved the table tennis, playstation and air hockey.

Review 82：We didn't feel welcome. Didn't even offer is for the new year package. Had to ask about it and not very helpful about information. Also, you'll a receive a letter as soon as you get there with all the rules. Ladies that like wearing high heel shoes like me they do not recommend wearing it because they have tiles in the room. Didn't let us know about the wifi. Got into the room no wifi...called the front desk and was asked to go to the reception and pay 5 euros a day. Got to the reception and then told that the wifi wasn't working at the moment. Also, parking garage is not big enough for all the guest. Checking out took forever. No acknowledgment or anything for the long wait. Will never going back or recommend it.

Review 83：The jacuzzi is small for the relative size of the hotel. The indoor seating area of the restaurant is rather small and feels crowded especially in the mornings for breakfast.

Review 86：I have been here several times over the last few years, and I absolutely love it. Four Seasons is spotlessly clean, the staff are wonderful and friendly, and is is extremely safe. I have been going here since my son was 7, he is now 18, and he also loves it and looks forward to going. It is also away from the busyness of the Marina but near enough to walk if you want. Highly recommend it.

Review 89：From a woman `s point of view there was no plug socket to put the hairdryer in, near a mirror , luckily I brought my own, but I had to put a pan upside down on a table to put my mirror on, as there weren't many spare plug sockets. Also the reception staff could be better quiet a few times I was kept waiting longer than 15 minutes , to speak to someone , I wouldn't mind if there was a queue, but one time there was no one else waiting at the desk the lady was just on the phone, so I gave up when she didn't even acknowledge I was there the other time there was only one other person in front of me , but that took so long I gave up again, so I think you need to get more than one member of staff on reception at one time.

Review 103：only thing really was the fact i wanted to cancel the booking but was like 36hrs after the deadline to cancel. and the booking was still over 10 days away but they didnt want to budge and were going to enforce their cancellation charge of the whole trip ..3 nights ..@£500. This for me is unreasonable and even 1 night cancellation charge of £150 is silly. so i ended up going and although i had a good time.. i felt kinda cheated for being there. To be fair was the rules but i dont like being forced into things.

Review 107：First time here. Room ready by 2:30pm. Facilities great. Towels and kitchen linen changed daily. Maid even switched dishwasher on! Little train into town was brill as it was a bit of a walk. Any concerns dealt with efficently by staff.

Review 115：Loved the size of the 2 bedroom apartment (as a family of 5 we find it difficult to find suitable accommodation). This apartment was excellent (huge main bedroom with plenty of space for a bed for our 3 year old and a separate twin room for our daughters 9 and 6), so spacious and quiet (overlooking the golf course). Great living area/kitchen and numerous TV channels. Half board option was such good value - great food most nights and such friendly, helpful staff everywhere! The kids loved the pools, especially because they were allowed inflatables in them! Overall, a great place for families to stay and would happily return.

Review 116：Choice of food at dinner. Menu was fine for lunch but rather limited for an evening meal. Location was very nice but further from Vilamoura than expected. Sports equipment on squash court was very poor. A couple of decent racquets and balls would have been good.

Review 118：For a four seasons resort the service was very poor at the reception. To be charged for use of pool towels is incredibly poor as well. The general state of the resort did not live up to my expectations or other four seasons hotels and resorts I have stayed at previously.
